That’s pretty cute. I’ve noticed that the Obamas comment often about disrupting things, and they limit the amount of outings they do. I’m sure their lives were pretty lively and social before getting into the White House, and it says a lot about them that they’ve curbed their social activities so as to limit disrupting other people as much as possible. I’m glad they’ve got the marine base, which has a lot of stuff they can do and enjoy.
Wow. I had no idea that people stood over the chefs and food preparers and watch every aspect of POTUS’ food preparation. That’s some real tight security. I guess that’s one sure way of hurting the President: through his food, so it make’s sense.
It would have been me had I been there. I’m a diabetic, but I would have ordered the 5 desserts and given them to others for a chance to stay in the restaurant and see the president, his family, and his friends! I am so glad that the president’s security detail takes such good care of him wherever he is.
Ed Henry usually rubs me the wrong way, he generally impresses me as being condescending to our President. I thought he was reasonable and appropriate in this segment….hope he keeps the reasonable tone up in the future.
How cool would it be to be one of the diners…..I would absolutely lose my appetite due to distraction, distraction in a good kind of way.
Ed Henry was one of the many reasons I stopped watching CNN.
Glad to hear and see a more respectful tone from him with regard to President Obama. We’ll see if this new professional and respectful tone remains. I’ll have to rely on you guys to tell me however since I still won’t watch CNN.
Great clip, so glad the President and first Lady are able to get out, enjoy a delicious dinner, and act like “normal folk”. Here’s hoping they use their vacation in Hawaii to recharge their batteries, they have worked so hard these past 2 years, they deserve a break.
Awesome!!! I need a trip to Hawaii so bad!!!!
I need – well, want – five desserts!!

That sounds like something that I might do! Too funny!
That *was* interesting…….the military chefs being in the kitchen watching over things. I never really thot about that.
Thx for the fun clip. And Happy New Year to everyone from Chicago (home of the Windy City White House)!!!
