President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama greet the Green family after the State of the Union address at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., Jan. 25. John and Roxanna Green are the parents of eleven-year-old Dallas and the late Christina Taylor, the nine-year-old girl killed when a gunman opened fire on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson earlier this month. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)
I only hope that this visit from the Green family to the SOTU helps them in some small way. I watched them during the speech and Dad is in a very tough place. Their son kept looking back and forth between mom and dad. Mom seems to be able to take in all the positive energies around her which is a time limited help. I’ve been there loosing a young son unexpectedly. It is an almost impossible experience to go through and takes many years to get better. God bless them all and allow them to eventually heal.
What a GREAT example of a LEADER!!! May God be with the Green family!! Obama 2012 not these fools http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhwCDmMzJ7o i am still cracking up over Michele Bachmann what a fool!!
Losing a young one unexpectedly changes everything and recovery takes a long time. My sister has been there, too, Barb. Mrs. Green seems absolutely courageous and resilient and I admire her for it, for working at it. it will help shore up the others in the family. Because the pain keeps coming back.
I think the couple who were at the memorial were related to the neighbor who took Christina to meet the congresswoman and was shot. The older man is the husband of that neighbor. I was confused also but my sister saw the pictures of her funeral with her parents and grandfather.
I feel so sad right now. May god continue to bless them until they meet their daughter again.

So true, A.L.Zymers. Each family member grieves in their own way and own speed. God bless them all.
Is this the same young couple who were at the memorial-with the grandfather? They don’t look to be the same couple to me–confused!
The people at the memorial were the husband, daughter and daughter’s boyfriend. I don’t think Christina’s parents were at the memorial.
Sorry – I cut off part of my sentence. The husband, daughter and daughter’s boyfriend of the woman who took Christina to the event.

Bless their hearts and may they get to heal in their own time. Sooooo sad.
