President Obama arrives to board the Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base on January 26

Morning my fellow SOTU watchers. So if you want to get a good snapshot of what the pundits (barf) thought they have a good wrap up on the White house blog page. *Now as I step on my soap box*..So other than a good sale on shoes, nothing gets me as giddy as seing Morning Jo(k)e slapped down. So yesterday he was whining about how the speech was tepid, never in his billions of years watching SOTU, has the reaction in Congress been so tepid with little applause and blah blah blah. Perhaps, Captain Obvious, it might be because there is no longer a “cheering” section and a “booing” section, but I digress.
From Whitehouse blog:
George Stephanopolous (ABC) “I Think That Sets a Record for Modern States of the Union.” “And he brought both parties to their feet, Diane, at least 45 times, from our count. 45 instances of bipartisan applause. I think that sets a record for modern States of the Union.” [ABC News, 1/25/11]
I’m brimming with sunshine:)
This is from uber conservative Judd Gregg
Well, I thought it was an excellent speech, as you would expect. He was elegant. Especially at the end in his language. That we do big things, is a very American way of saying what we’re about. And he was actually pretty specific, I thought, on some of the things he’s willing to put on the table.
Morning LOL
Great response from Gregg. As I said last night, I think most of the pundits had their responses prepared before they even heard the address – they were so predictable it was laughable.
But the response from non-fools has been great, hugely positive – the President is on a roll
A good afternoon to everyone on board at this time!:)
This President never really seems to rest. He obviously doesn’t go to bed by 9pm(or whatever)like the previous one! That’s one reason I usuallly get riled when he does take a vacation and the eejits start moaning about how many days he’s ‘off’ – as if he’s ever off the job! Do have a productive day Mr. President, despite the weather!
VP Biden is speaking in Greenfield, IN right now. They’ve hit the 2012 campaign trail guys. This is what the “WH Main Street Tour” is all about. Brilliant strategy.
Oops! That should be: White House TO Main Street Tour.
I could not agree with the last gentleman more. I am happy we have someone who is actually coming to the table with a plan to get us out of this mess! A pity he is “the only adult in the room”.
I loved the comments from the guy that said that maybe people will settle down and give the president time to re-work the whole situation. I think there are millions of Americans who are tired of the republicans, the PL, and the frustrai getting people riled up for no reason. I also think that millions see a connection between the violent rhetoric republicans use and the massacre in AZ. These people are not the ones whose opinions show up in polls, but they are a very important part of the populace. This guy also seems to be responding to the PL and the frustrati who want the president to change everything they want changed ASAP. He understands that it’s impossible for the country to go from a deep recession to a successful recovery in a matter of months. Good for him. Much of what he said mirrors my view of our country and our president.
the last guy said it brilliantly
