I don’t know if you guys have seen this, but this is a very good article by EJ Dionne on the GOP’s bait and switch. In summary, E.J states that the Repubs, since Reagan, cut taxes and don’t decrease spending when it is their turn in the white house. However, when a Dem gets in there, they catch religion, and start spewing about the deficits and debts. Reagan cut taxes (and increased them), but it was left to Bush 1 to raise revenue, and that got him his pink slip. Then when Clinton had a surplus, Bush 2 decided to cut taxes and start two wars and increase spending with very little push back from the Repubs.

But, right on schedule, since a Dem is now in the white house, the Repubs have once again caught that holy ghost fire and are terrified, terrified, i tell you, of that menacing debt. So the cycle goes as follows, Repubs cut taxes, increase spending and little is said by the MSM or the other repubs. Dems, either have to shelf whatever they had planned (ala Clinton) in order to raise revenue/taxes or be called spineless and not caring about little Johnny who will have to work for communist china in order to pay of our debt. E.J went on to praise the President about not falling into the trap, like the Repubs did with Clinton. And, in any poll out their the deficit is always the 3rd or fourth most important issue, why does the MSM treat it like it is the foremost important things in the minds of Americans, I will never know. Oh yeah, i forgot, a DEM is in the white house.

:D Feels good to be numbered with the majority. I feel sorry that the minority 11% is taking so long to wise up, but I recognize that ‘they'(unspecified others) can fool some of the people all of the time. We can do it with 82%! :)

That falls in line with a poll that I saw last year saying that 9% of Dems think Obama is not liberal enough. Can you believe one of the front pagers on that orange site thought that 9% was something that Obama should be concerned about? I had to re-read his post and the polls to make sure I wasn’t reading it incorrectly. After months and months of saying that his numbers are low and enthusiasm is low because Obama doesn’t produce enough liberal policies or not liberal enough that poll comes along and WHAM!!! – not so much. LOL! it was hilarious.

I won’t link so here: This is the CNN poll

    Approve: 48%
    Disapprove, too liberal: 38%
    Disapprove, not liberal enough: 9%
    Disapprove, unsure: 3%

This was the front page headline:

Mon Nov 15, 2010 at 04:56 PM EST
CNN poll: Many who disapprove wish Obama were more liberal

The author’s reasoning was that 20% of the 50% that disapprove of him should be alarming.

    Oy!
