ooooooops

Sorry for bringing a Politico story here, but this one made me smile…..

Politico: Michele Bachmann’s suggestion Saturday that the Revolutionary War began in Concord, N.H., rather than Lexington and Concord, Mass., marks the third time in recent months that the potential GOP presidential hopeful has committed a puzzling gaffe about history and current affairs.

Making her first trek to New Hampshire as a 2012 prospect, Bachmann told a GOP crowd in Concord: “You’re the state where the shot was heard around the world at Lexington and Concord.”

The Revolutionary War began, not in New Hampshire’s capital, but in the famous two towns more than 50 miles away in Massachusetts.

For Bachmann, who leads the House Tea Party caucus and champions a return to the Constitution, to get such basic facts wrong about the country’s birth is revealing.

Her comment wasn’t just an off-hand reference that she inserted in her remarks. At a fundraiser Friday night on the New Hampshire Seacoast, Bachmann said almost the exact same thing, according to the Minnesota Post: “It’s your state that fired the shot that was heard around the world, you are the state of Lexington and Concord, you started the battle for liberty right here in your backyard.”

Bachmann’s geographic mix-up prompted derision among some New Hampshire Republicans. “Is she on her way to Lexington, N.H. now?” cracked Matt Suermann in response to somebody who posted on Twitter that Bachmann had left the building.

…“She makes Sarah Palin look like Count Metternich,” groaned longtime GOP consultant Mike Murphy….

…By late Saturday, Bachmann had taken to Facebook in an attempt to swiftly address her Concord mix-up. “So I misplaced the battles Concord and Lexington by saying they were in New Hampshire,” she wrote. “It was my mistake, Massachusetts is where they happened. New Hampshire is where they are still proud of it!”

Instead of oops, I say poops! In other words, she stinks. May her and her ilk go careening over a steep cliff into a sesspool.
The racism in this country burns. The spirits of my ancestors are not at rest today.

Seriously.. one of the dumbest clucks in the republican coop. I cannot even imagine where folks like her get the idea that they can or should run this country. They live entirely in a fog apparently.. but then Americans in Minnesota continue to give this woman a job- which is exactly why she apparently thinks she can run a country.. some other dingalings have been telling her so.

Sherijr, thats what I also keep on asking myself. What kind of folks leave all they have to do and match to go and vote for thes idiots.

They already voted for McCain/Palin, they will come out in imbecilic droves to vote for anyone who is NOT our president Obama in 2012. They don’t research those condemning little “facts” that might give them hints like “NO! DON’T VOTE FOR THESE INCOMPETENT FOOLS!”. It’s too bad. We just have to work that much harder, and present the facts coherently whenever possible.

I hope some on the right are getting a “good” education on what it means to vote for politicians on the basis of ideology and/or party affiliation. Some of them have got to be union members, and it has to be dawning on them that when rw politicians declare war on collective bargaining, they get hit, too. I was on the Reid Report site earlier, and he is reporting that Milwaukee County public employees who are union members, and are able to retire, are retiring at a faster pace than usual.

No doubt she talked during every American History class she ever took! I’m sure she maddened her teachers with constant chattering, and none of it worth the air it took! She should have known this since fifth grade! Of course her follow up comments didn’t admit she’d been wrong…….
