OMG!!! love it love it!!!
This is great!!! We the people!!!
The best thing about these tractors was that they were low-budget, everyday, working tractors. In fact, at least one of them looked to be a restored Case from the 60s.
None of those half million dollar behemoths that could be held up to ridicule as property of the “rich factory farmers.” Although, with the size of Minnesota and the size fields they must need to work, it wouldn’t be unusual to see farmers driving huge tractors with tires dwarfing a good-sized man.
Can’t help it, I love tractors. When we first moved here, I drove our small second- or third-hand ford which was a lot of fun. Traded up to an older but bigger John Deere which spelled the end of my tractor-driving. I had needed a step ladder to get up into the seat and then couldn’t reach the pedals. Or push them, for that matter.
I am a proud Hispanic-Communist-Kenyan-Muslim-Socialist-Catholic-Nazi plus I see Russia from my home here in NJ AND all the way proud of the protesters!
WI, Saludos-Salute-Cheers to the protester!!!!!!!!!!!!
“I am a proud Hispanic-Communist-Kenyan-Muslim-Socialist-Catholic-Nazi plus I see Russia from my home here in NJ…”
This was too funny Maritza,I couldn’t stop laughing…
Well this just makes me weepy.. in a really good way~ Bravo Wisconsi.. BRAVO !
er.. WisconsiN.. sorry.
Big Up WI. We are 100% behind you.
HOT DIGGITY, now that’s unity!!!! I like that, yes I do
On a somber note, I just wonder how many of these protesters fully understand the choice they have made if any one of them voted rethug in opposition to anything having to do with supporting POTUS. Also, note how much symbolism people use nowadays that had its birth in the campaign of President Obama….namely, the red, white and blue signage, the acronyms of POTUS and FLOTUS, the consistent use of “change” (for good or evil, sadly). He has put an indelible mark on politics worldwide. Even when he may have drawn on the decisions and thoughts of those who came before him, he has incorporated so much into a movement we have not seen since the early days of the civil rights movement in this country, which also was expanded internationally. This is why he has been so vilified by his very own countrymen. They have seen the beginnings of a revolution in this country and it didn’t just start a few weeks ago. It started in February 2007 when Barack Hussein Obama announced his candidacy for the office of President of the U.S. Before that he was a semi-nonthreatening member of the Senate. They all thought it would be years before they would have had to contend with him on a serious tip, despite his noted charisma from his 2004 speech. I for one was ready for a little shake-up after the disastrous Bush reign, in which I held my nose for eight long insufferable years. And when Barack Obama made his announcement, I came on board immediately, without hesitation. And have been enjoying the ride ever since. 2012, here I come again.
Beautifully stated ED.. and I am right there with you every step of the way
Co sign my friend!!!
I got on board too EDP and never dismounted – not even for a pee break…
This daily mass going, rosary praying Catholic is in this for the long haul – Barack or bust…
Add me to your list ED. Bravo for your message. I jumped on the bandwagaon in 2004 but didn’t realize it would come so soon. I have never wavered from that moment even though I was the only one in my family and extended family who walked right with him. I just knew he would be president although I got frustrated during the primaries, I wanted him to win so much. I am still with him and have learned his MO. Chi, I walk with you everyday. I’ve lost count on how many candles I have lite for him.
Has the size of the crowd been estimated yet? Love the tractors and the enthusiasm!
Reports say 150,000 people. Go Wisconsin we support u.
OooH HELL to the NO! I didnt just see an ad by Carl Rove’s group (crossroads?) Blasting UNIONS as power grappers that work for Obama….and they had the sound bites (HEAVILY EDITED) to prove it! The Nerve.
This means IMO they are running scared! Go Unions
I saw it too. Made my blood boil.
They lost control of the narrative in Wisconsin so they are back to making it about Obama. They lost so many from their own base. I guess they need to whip up their base now. They are attempting to advance and change to game but it’s too late in my opinion. It’s hard to come back from something like this (ex. HCR). The Repub lost alot of political captial with Walker. The idiot (as Ms Saradon so perfectly put it)expose their entire plan. If they had any sense they would run from him like the plague. Carl Rove coming in the play “Big Daddy” and help clean up Reince Priebus’s rookie costly mistake is very interesting. They are scrambling.
PLEASE DEMOCRATIC PARTY PLAY THIS ONE RIGHT!
Thank you SOOOO much for these flix and clips, Ms. Chip. This is the FIRST place where I have seen this much visual info. of this momentous occasion. What is just QUITE clear is that – to quote my dearly loved and deceased grandmother – Scott Walker has “tore his drawers” with the good people of Wisconsin. What is quite heartening is that it appears that this treachery will NOT be forgotten and the organizing against this Republican assault on the American way is just beginning.
I’m in St. Louis, by the bye. And, just so everybody knows, we had a solidarity protest here today, too. Crowd size estimated at 5k. Our governor is a Democrat, but our legislature…….
There is “Right To Work” foolishment afoot here in “The Show Me State”. We’re jussst startin’ to warm up.
Me too! I had no idea until I saw the news footage with STL protester on another site. How did I miss this!
Annnd, a few more over at “Smartypants”. If y’all haven’t, check her out. Yet another VERY sharp, thoughtful woman
Just a gentle reminder my friends to turn your clocks forward. I am NOT looking forward to this at all. I treasure my extra hour and will miss it badly!!!
Sleep in! Thanks for the reminder, although I plan to sleep as if I didn’t know.
This is so inspiring……and is a foundation to build on. I am frustrated that I am a bystander…..
EDP4BHO…..I agree with your assessment. President Obama is the impetus for the change that is unfolding. And to those who mock or mocked our community organizer, your ignorance and arrogance have been exposed. He has inspired us to reclaim our power.
The potential of that power is the very reason the “rats” are so emboldened. They know that if we act collectively, their power will be diffused and the existing paradigm will shift. The irony is they stand to lose far more by attempting to extinguish our “force” than if they would cooperate and seek compromise. They have over-played their hand.
I hope President Obama is taking some personal delight in this movement that is taking hold. He planted the seeds of inspiration and has been teaching us the way forward.
Spot on Sue…
Thank you, you write what I’d like to say but lack your ability to write so I”ll just say thanks.
I agree with everyone here…. WTG WI, we are with you! I love these signs, and the strong sense of justice they represent! One of my favorites is “I teach. If I’m the enemy, we’re all in trouble!” Amen.
“I’M ASKING YOU TO BELIEVE.
Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington…I”m asking you to believe in yours”
I think we are starting to believe that we the people, can bring about the change we need and want.
I think the corporatists just may learn that Citizens United is no match for People Power.
I see no pictures of the so-called man of the people…Ed Shultz.
Loling over here at your comment bjw2 - excellent comment!
The words “Koch brothers” should become dirty words in the American lexicon.
Thanks, Chip, for this roundup. Good to see at least one celebrity out there using her clout to influence movement towards democracy and not away from it (looking at you, John Voight, Chuck Norris, and all the other washed-up celebrity wingnuts!).
Love the signs:
“WisKOCHsin”…….”Now settle down kitty” cartoon of Walker shaking a raccoon. (How his actions are going to come back and bite him.}
I am amazed at the creativity of the good people in the State of Wisconsin. I admire them for their determination and grit. You all are right. The Sleeping Giant has been awaken.
Blackman I am just across the border in KS. If anything comes to KC, I am on it.
@Barb….Hey, “neighbor”!! Good deal. And, you probably will. FInally, a number of people appear to be waking up. I believe there is action in Austin.
And, hellooooooo as well to my home girl Betty’s girl! Let’s keep our eyes open for further developments.
