Steve Benen: Bachmann Poised To Form Exploratory Committee?…. I find this  rather hard to believe, but strange people do strange things:

“CNN has exclusively learned that Rep. Michele Bachmann will form a presidential exploratory committee. The Minnesota Republican plans to file papers for the committee in early June, with an announcement likely around that same time…..”

It’s probably fair to say that most reasonable political observers, regardless of party or ideology, would agree that Michele Bachmann is stark raving mad. I don’t mean this in a name-calling sense, I mean it objectively – her record of truly insane rants and conspiracy theories makes Bachmann an embarrassment to herself and the institution she serves. There’s just something deeply wrong with this person.

Bachmann’s odds of becoming leader of the free world next year are about as good as mine. But that doesn’t mean her candidacy, if it exists, won’t matter.

For one thing, Bachmann is so boldly ridiculous, she’s bound to generate quite a bit of attention for herself, which could have a real impact on the race. There’s only so much media oxygen available for a sizable presidential field, and if Bachmann’s clownish antics capture reporters’ attention, lesser-known candidates like Pawlenty and Daniels may find themselves struggling to stay in the spotlight.

….If Bachmann runs, she’ll be a sad, cringe-worthy sideshow, making a circus of the entire nominating process. But much to her competitors’ chagrin, that’s unlikely to stop her.

I wonder what fuels Bachmann? Most of us, given the enormously embarrassing stupidities she’s uttered would find a good, well-hidden cave to cower in, but she goes on and on, having been proven ridiculous over and over and over again.

I really am puzzled about this. Who is encouraging her? Or who is it that perhaps hides her from the truth of the picture she is flaunting all over the country?

Good questions, JKS! I believe Bachmann’s head has been overloaded with faux praise by the far right and the corporatists. They know that with a MB in the WH, they can call the shots from behind the scenes and further their plans to concentrate more of the nation’s wealthy in the hands of the 1 and 2 percenters. This is the woman who didn’t know until a few weeks ago that the ACA contained a funding mandate. This is the woman who is leading the charge about what type of light bulbs Americans use and tying it to “the government is taking away your freedom!” Utter nonsense doesn’t begin to describe what is in MB’s brain.

Re: the light bulbs – she conveniently ignores the fact that it’s Bush’s administration who regulated light bulbs…

Added to the faux praise might me a definite learning disability – one which prevents her from being able to distinguish between criticism and praise, and nuances. She might construe the fact that she’s mentioned as something positive even when it isn’t, and being courted by corporatistand the far right would certainly add to her sense of importance if she is really incapable of seeing beneath the surface. And, from all the evidence out there, who can doubt that she is?

Hey, if Michelle can get Janine Turner to be her running mate their campaign slogan could be: Bachmann-Turner Overdrive 2012.

The only thing Bachmann should explore is what happened to her brain.

This is fun for sure. And to Bachmann, run, girl run. We gonna have to sit down with our popcorn and watch this train wreck. And seriously, let her run it would put a mess on the repugs and the clownish show, I cant resist to watch and LOL.

Hold the popcorn – there are enough crazy people who would vote for this woman just to deny a certain Democrat a second term in the White House. And with their media machine, I don’t doubt that they can polish her up enough to get her past a lot of unsuspecting people. The fact that Palin’s tweets still make the news is enough evidence of some strange reality at play.

I am so excited about the repugnant’s primary. Between Haley, the racist, Painlin, and the rest of the gaggle, we will be privy to hilarious entertainment at no charge. I am going to be making lots of pop corn and laughing at these idiots. I can’t wait to hear them ripping each other to shreds. Yipeeeeeee!

Maybe the GOP will pull out the “the presidency is beneath her” card for Bachmann like they have with Palin or would that be too obvious? :)

Yep! I was waiting to read to the end of the thread before telling Chipstick that I love that picture, and I’m not usually a dog fan.

Dorothy, you have inspired me to stock up on the popcorn. I am not kidding. We are going to have some fun nights watching this pathetic show. What is the best brand for my money? Let us start an “The Elite Popcorn Country Club of 2012.”They call us everything in the book already, so what is the difference. But it would be fun, to say,”Okay guys, get out the Popcorn, we are going to be in for a long night. We must have some fun for this crazy stuff, for sure.

Sometimes I curse my serious nature…..I wish I could laugh at this…I can’t. She is an enormous embarrassment, and frankly I hate the thought that something as serious and deserving of our respect and purposeful attention is so degraded by the likes of Bachmann, Palin, Gingrich, Chump. She is from my state, and seems to have plenty willing to support her brand of insanity. She is IMO, a marketing tool, and puppet of subversive forces aligned through the Christian Right Movement.

Sue – I am on the same page with you. These jokers pull the presidency down to a level that is beneath the Office. And it taints our President, as well. There are such serious problems in this country and in this world – people who need real help. They’re not getting it from many Democrats and all Republicans. And to put forward a gaggle of jokers who don’t even understand the Constitution, who don’t respect the Office or the people of this country – that should be a crime. They should just concede defeat, and cancel the election, instead of spending billions of dollars to put forward non-serious candidates, and waste everyone’s time, plus drag us all into the gutter that is where the Republican party lives right now. It’s an offense.

It’s wrong on mutliple levels….I am glad not to be alone in my perspective. I also find it very offensive. I’ll have to look elsewhere for my reasons to smile.

Theo, leave my brain alone! This so reflects a part of my thoughts expressed at the top of the blog when I signed in. I’ll have to go back and see if we were writing at about the same time. ;)

Ditto Gloria. It is ridiculous that these people do not consider the importance of holding such a high office. I don’t want anyone except our current President to have their finger anywhere near the “nuke” button.

Rep. Michele Bachmann will form a presidential exploratory committee. The Tea-nut wants to be the leader of the free world, the CIC, the one who said the census was to send us to concentration camps, our children were going to go to re-education camps.
Someone is having a great deal of fun at our expense. I guess if they could vote for GWB twice then Michele Bachmann has a chance.
