President Obama walks to board Marine One, March 29, at the White House, en route to New York
Gosh this man always on the move, on the go, hardest working POTUS ever. Have a good trip Mr. President and bring your fione self back home safe to wifey and the kiddies. <3
Ha ha. Ain’t he fione? Safe travels, Mr. President.
He is such a sweety!
On to the next one!
So what is the Prez supposed to be discussing. Libya again?
I was reading at WSY and apparently there is a group who is going to be protesting Obama in Harlem.
Bailey said there are serious issues facing Harlem that Obama should be made aware of. She cited Obama’s attention on using military force in Libya when Harlem remains a hub of joblessness.
“Harlem is symbolic for President Obama. There is no other black community that resonates domestically and internationally. But to come to Harlem on the heels of a brutal shock and awe campaign against an African country is one of political expediency,” Bailey said. It is a disrespect and a slap in Harlem’s face.”
It appears this group see Obama acting against an African country. Qaddafi is a dictator, a killer, but he is an African. What about all of the Libyans that he is killing. Does that mean it is okay for him to do that?
Watch the national media finding this story and this manifestation worthy of their attention…
replying to myself…
and watch in the months ahead every black activist who has something to say against PBO be given a platform in the MSM. It’s already begun with West and co.. And now Arianna with her project of a special place on HP for the black community. What is the agenda there do you think ?
The black vote is important in many states and watch the MSM helping the repubs in every way possible to deflate that vote. I’m not saying that black activists who disapprove of PBO don’t deserve to be heard. I’m saying that MSM will give them emphasis, the same way they have been promoting the Tea Party for two years, covering every little protest non-stop while ignoring bigger rallies like the one for immigration reform in DC.
WE know the drill right. Any black person willing to speak against the president is high news for the media. They disgust me.
Don’t worry. They will fizzle out – the way of Velma Hart. Because they are NOT SINCERE. These are the same “activists” that condone corruption in the Black church and other black institutions. They exploit the very communities they pretend to serve. They are simply trying to cash in on the lastest attention bandwagon. Pay them no attention.
So they’re mad that’s it’s an African country and Obama being half-African should never intervene to stop a dictator? Huh? Harlem has allegiance with Libya because it’s on the continent of Africa? That’s makes no sense. And using military intervention on Libya won’t increase the unemployment rate in Harlem.
The black community is so unorganized. Instead of shouting at Obama they need to look toward their Governor, Congresspeople, mayors, county commissioners, school boards and superintendents. We first need to learn that every election is the most important election. The people who are on our school boards, city councils and districts directly effect us more than who’s in charge on the federal level. When a county lets the poor schools rot while updating the computer lab in the rich schools then you need to make your voice be heard.
But bashing a mayor won’t get you on television like bashing the president.
Jessica, you are so right. Why does the CBC not ever stand up for the president? They beef and moan about him all the time. If they would spend a little time reassuring their constituents that Obama is working to make things better, it might help them too. Where is the loyalty in the house and senate? None. It is everyman for himself.
Great points Jessica. They are a bunch of babies, always looking for government to do something for them. They are like teabaggers in opposition. Why bother to elect local officials without holding them accountable. I doubt this is about economics as it probably is some black-power advocate, leftover revolutionary summoning black men to show PBO is not black like them. It seems so much easier for the modern day “kneegrow” to confront his own than to confront the real face of the disenfranchisement, usually caucasion. This is not to say every black man is the friend, and every white man is the enemy, but where in hell were these people when GWB was screwing America for his little war escapades, and when the teabaggers were around calling the black president every foul name in their arsenal of hate? Also, how many of them voted? Where were they when Clinton made it possible to continue to ship jobs overseas? They.Make.Me.Sick!
“But to come to Harlem on the heels of a brutal shock and awe campaign against an African country is one of political expediency,” Bailey said. It is a disrespect and a slap in Harlem’s face.””
Oh my, I actually feel bad for this uninformed person. Obviously our President doesn’t mind protest but this is the sorriest protest ever. Do they not realize who Muammar Gaddafi is and what Operation Odyssey Dawn is about?
“brutal shock and awe campaign against an African country” WTF? Ridiculous much, Ms. Bailey? Good grief.
Soooo sick of these opportunists thinking they can make a name for themselves by disrespecting the President of the United States because he is part African American. I love Harlem and the people of Harlem, but Harlem is the only community that resonates both nationally and internationally? Me thinks she thinks to highly of that place. And why didn’t these folks protest Bill Clinton’s setting up an office there (which he has moved now that his wife will never be president) since he sat on his hands and let Dafur become the graveyard for millions.
These hypocrites are just too much for me.
I continue to pray for our President. I know he’s doing the right things because the haters are working overtime trying to turn us against him. IT. WILL. NEVER. HAPPEN.
Keep on moving forward, Mr. President. We’ve got your back.
Thanks ProudOf Obama. The news and these protesters would do history a great service if they would dress up and say thank you, Mr. President for all that you are doing to make so many dreams and hopes come true for all Americans. Have these people and MSM forgot who Ronald H. Brown was? Well, I remember him very much. First he was the Chairman of the DNC who was very instrumental is getting President Bill Clinton elected. Secondly, he was the first African American appointed to his Cabinet as his Sec. of Commerce. He did a great job!! He was serving his country when the plane carrying him crashed and Ronald H. Brown was killed in 1996. I have a vivid memory of all of this because I thought he was doing a great job as Sec. of Commerce. Let us try to move forward with this President to do good things. He is the President of all the people.Yes, keep on moving forward, Mr. President.
Darfur and Rwanda. The horror of it all. Proud, we do have his back.
Our President is looking good!
Question to anyone, is there video of PBO’s town hall yesterday?
Debz, you can check univision or cspan. :)
Thanks Kelly, I will look there
Hi guys! A couple weeks ago, I’d applied for OFA’s summer training camp program. Well, they just called me for an interview on Thursday between 3 & 5. Heeheeeeeeee!!!! Wish me luck!
In 2008, I volunteered for the Obama For America campaign all through summer. The last two weeks of the campaign – right up to November 4, I took off as vacation from work and volunteered full-time with my local OFA office. It was one of the most fulfilling experience of my life. I remember crying as I drove home from the OFA office on election night. I’d worked hard, donated every spare penny, and he won. I felt like I played a really important role in making history. :-)
I can’t wait to do it again.
Another good piece of news. Thanks for your hard work.
Thank you, Dorothy! :-)
Best of luck to you, H! I will try to remember to say a prayer/send positive thoughts your way between 3 & 5 on Thursday. ;)
Thank you, VC!
Best wishes Hachiko!
Good Luck Hachiko, knock their socks off!
I wonder where are all of the people who gave Former President Bill Clinton a Sax Greeting when he moved into his office in Harlem 10 years ago. I have not heard of any big protest of him reportedly not being seen in the neighborhood as often as they would have liked, or even assisting their neighborhood. Was that in the MSM over the last 10 years? Blacks need to sit down and get together and reason with each other. They had 10 years with a former President sitting in their livingrooms almost, and not even a whisper was heard on the MSM about their unrest., and now a bi-racial President comes in for a fundraiser, and they are shouting all over the church. Give POTUS a BREAK!! Get off of his case. I speak from experience., as far as my culture. Let us move forward with this President. He knows Harlem. He lived in New York. It is not like the man is running up on you in the dark and do not know anything about your community. And remember, this is America, and he is the President of the United States of America. He can attend a fundraiser wherever he chooses to attend. Let us stop thinking small, my brothers and sisters.
Is it possible that both whites and blacks hold him to a higher standard than a white president?
Yes, in my opinion Dorothy.
It’s always been this way, Dorothy. Some of us keep quiet when people like GWB walk all over us and everybody else, but when a black man like PBO ascends to a position of power, all of a sudden, some of us expect him to work miracles and move mountains. It’s a backwards way of looking at things. I don’t expect PBO to be able to solve all the nation and world’s problems. Heck, I don’t expect him to solve my problems. My position is that if you sat around on your butt and didn’t protest or challenge GWB or any of the other presidents, you should keep your mouth shut and at least give PBO a chance. These people aren’t being realistic. President Obama hasn’t been in office 2-1/2 years yet. He has done a whole lot to move the country forward. They’re not paying attention to the forces he has aligned against him: vicious republicans and democrats in Congress; wimpy democrats in Congress who don’t have his back on any issue; a very biased corporate-owned MSM; lying, dis-ingenious corporatists who are hellbent on destroying PBO and our democratic form of government. These are their targets, but they choose to give them a free pass to attack the ONE person who has consistently been on THEIR side. A pox on them. They are the worst kind of cowards. I remember Ron Brown and all he did as Commerce Secretary. Of all the times this group could have chosen to protest, to choose this occasion is truly shameful.
To HZ, EDP and majii, it breaks my heart.
Dorothy, it’s more than possible. It is a fact!
HZ, These protesters today are hardly speaking for the whole community of Harlem. If we hyperbole we will be acting just like the msm, pl, and the right. Lets be mad at the MSM that will most likely focus on these protesters who obviously are uninformed.
CNN has live video feed of PBO’s dedication remarks.
Patti Labelle singing national anthem at dedication where pbo is about to speak!
PBO is looking soooooooooooo good.
yep thanx for the link.
Thanks for the link tho I couldn’t see anything – don’t know if it’s becoz I’m over the pond. Will wait for the video.
