buyers’ remorse …. use your brains next time, folks

Public Policy Polling: PPP’s newest national poll finds that after a little more than 3 months in charge House Republicans have fallen so far out of favor with the American public that it’s entirely possible Democrats could take control of the House back next year.

43% of voters think that House Republicans are doing a worse job now than the Democrats did, compared to only 36% who think the GOP has brought an improvement. 19% think things are about the same. 62% of voters thinking that the Republicans have either made things worse or brought no improvement to an already unpopular Congress does not bode particularly well for the party.

46% of voters say that if there was an election for Congress today they would vote Democratic, compared to only 41% who would vote Republican. That five point advantage for Democrats is only a hair below the margin Republicans won by in the national popular vote last year. A victory of that magnitude for the Democrats next year would at the very least result in the party taking back a large number of the seats it lost last year, and it could be enough to take back the outright majority…

….These poll numbers also point to the reality that Republicans taking control of the House may have been one of the best things that could possibly have happened for Obama’s reelection prospects … voters may not love Obama as once they did but they’re finding him to be more reasonable than the alternative and that means it will be hard for the GOP to knock him off next year without a top notch nominee.

One thing is very much for certain – it’s not 2010 anymore.

Political Wire: … Stunningly, independent voters now say they’d vote Democratic for the House by a 42% to 33% margin, representing a 28 point reversal in a span of just five months.

Shortly after last year’s election, I happened to hear a Democratic congressman ( I can’t remember who) talking on one of the news programs. He said….”There’s going to be a lot of buyer’s remorse for these elections very soon.” He was a prophet. I knew he was right then, and he is being proved right. Where were people’s minds!!!

They were too busy being distracted by the shiny, emotion-filled, empty rhetoric of the republicans and tea partiers. They were bamboozled, rolled, deluded, misled, misinformed, gypped, duped, tricked, cheated, swindled, lied to, flim flammed, etc. They had no earthly idea that the politicians for whom they voted not only had the democrats in their sights, but they had THEM in their sights, too. It’s strange, but I don’t feel at all sorry for them because after almost 40 years of watching things like this happen over and over, I’m sick of Americans not being able to separate the rhetoric of politicians from their actions. The voters knew that republicans’ fiscal policies caused the financial meltdown in 2008, they know the republicans are shills for Big Oil and Big Business, but they turned the House back over to them anyway. It’s a hard lesson, but sometimes, the only way to get through to certain people is to let them gain their experience from the school of hard knocks. PBO told them, they didn’t listen, so imo, they deserve what they’re getting. I’m not callous to the suffering of others, but when they make bad decisions, they have to be responsible for them. I didn’t vote for any republican. If people voted for republicans, or were democrats who thought they were “punishing” PBO and the democrats by staying home from the polls in November 2010, tough titty.

Stuff like this only reinforces in my mind how dumb voters are…collectively! What did voters expect? Everyone knew what Repukes would do if they got the house and that is exactly what they are doing.

Still too early to read too much into this. As the economy improves their numbers will probably improve but Obama should get even more of that luv from an improving economy.

“Buyer be ware.” But you know, aside from the huge numbers of seats they gained in congress, I think the repugs have really helped the president….wait-LET ME FINISH: When Democrats controlled everything, Repugs were able to paint PBO as a bully/socialist/ granny killer (so sorry for using such a horrible phrase :/ ) and his numbers were low(44), now that those psychos are in office, they only make a great man look better and better all the time. Suckers.

I agree. They have certainly galvanized the troups of Dems who slept thru 2010. And for those questioning Obama’s commitment or whatever, they are realizing what he is up against and that they better get out there and fight.

So it’s all good. Sorta. Kinda. Mostly.

I can’t help but wonder, and be concerned over the fact, that since Our belove President Obama, looked John Bohener In the eye, and said, “NOPE”, “ZERO”, “This Is It John”, just how will he score on our 2012 budget. What do you think? Perhaps the Repubs will be so angry along with embarrassment, maybe It will be even harder for him to compromise with them. I realize that It’s not going to be pretty, by far, but I’m wondering If the Repubs will do absolutely what they’re good at, and that Is, NO, No, and No! Zilch! You know, their way, or the Highway. Just wondering. Thoughts anyone???

I just watched Maya, PBO’s Sister on CNN, she Is pretty, what a good looking Family. I definitely could see Family Resemblences. I could see similarities between Maya, Barack, and their Mom. I enjoyed her Interview, I just love to hear her talk. She’s cute :-)

We surely want them all to realize just how phenomenal what President Obama and the Democratic Senate did last week. Here’s a fine, factual analysis of just how significant President Obama’s leadership was (is):

Rest well friends; tomorrow evening is going to be the true ‘launch’ of our endeavor to re-elect President Obama, as many Democratic candidates as we can as to ensure our Nation continues to move toward that “north star” that has guided everything our President has done since Jan 2009.

Bobfr, you know you have become a hero for many of us. The information and videos you provided during the Arab Spring were amazing. You are a true star. thank you so much. dr

I just dont know when people will stop getting themselves taken for a ride by the rethugs. You simply can never ever trust these creatures, they lie shamelessly and dont give a freaking damn about anyone. People, when will you ever learn or should I say, why dont you so easily get amnesia where these crooks are concerned?

I was hoping that people eyes would be open. I honestly feel the Democrats have a chance to get the control of the House back, keep the Senate and White House, Democrats need to act like they have some sense. Those Pregressive Liberals are the ones I am talking about, they could mess it all up. Rachel,Ed, Rep. Weiner and all the others who have decided to attack this President. This thing that Rep. Paul Ryan is trying to do with Medicare has scared the pist out of folks.

I’m glad to hear they don’t speak for you LunarSea. It’s just that some of these people have gone crazy. And at this time I’m fed up with them all. Because I feel that the PL feel like the President has to do what they want, when they want, how they want, and to me that sounds like the Tea Party. You see were the Independents are starting to leaning toward the Dems again, all because of the hard work of President Obama. But people like Ed, Rachel, and whoever don’t see that. I heard someone saying if he makes any cuts to Medicare, they will tell the people not to make donation to the President re-election. So are they trying to put a Republican in the White House? Honestly I’m fed up with the likes of Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz, what’s that guy’s name who come on at 6pm on Msnbc? Anyone from the magazine the Nation. I don’t want to say I hate them, but it’s not far from it.

When Medicare comes up I am just waiting for the explosion. The party that tries to push it over to vouchers and wall street will get a beating. I hope that it will be well times to aid in the next election. Ryan may have a pretty face but he doesn’t undertand consequences.

Saw Maya Soetoro-Ng on CNN. She is just as bright and tactfull as her brother. Loved seeing the new pictures of them with their mom. I had never seen that one before. Beautiful pictures of her and her daughters since she has 2 now.The first one looks like her and the second one is oriental like her daddy. I remembor the pick of PBO and her youngest sitting barefoot out on the WH lawn.

The book is beautifully illustrated. Piers didn’t even bring it up. I thought his inteview style was gracious and mellow but he was overacting with that British accent. He was hard to understand sometimes and I have heard him on British TV and never had a problem.

When hearing the results of the fall 2010 elections and seeing how many seats went republican I said to my husband that “on the bright side maybe they will screw everything up so badly that the next election will go much better for the Democratic party!” Is it too early o say I was right? ;)

Unfortunately, MoveOn.org and BoldProgressives.org are threatening PBO to sit out the next election if he doesn’t give them certain outcomes in his upcoming budget address today. I replied to BP’S email with a “screw you” of my own. See, some people never learn. Also, they like to take credit for the things PBO accomplishes that they “warn” him about, never allowing for his very own intelligence, insight, and strategy. This man can’t catch a break from everybody riding him. I still see it as AA’s can’t make good government in the eyes of some non-AA’s (and a lot of AA’s as well). People are still willing to “punish” PBO like he’s a bad little boy, not a grown man, and I can tell them all to kiss it where the sun don’t shine.

I received emails yesterday from both moveon and bold progressive instructing me to sign a petition warning the Presdent that if he didn’t do what they wanted, I would withhold a vote until he came around to their way. I deleted those both. However, I am planning to write both of them and tell them that I will not be supporting them until they support the president. They are foolish in this campaign. He is the best hope they’ve had in years. I’ll ask the if they REALLY want another Republican in the White House? Perhaps if they hear from a number of us they will change their tactics. I’m not sure it will make a big difference, but they need to know that we will be withholding our support (monetary and otherwise) until they stop this. They seem to think the President is their servant. They are so wrong.

Tell them you can see through there marketing, a honed form of emotional manipulation, and that you are aware of the facts.
They have created an alternate reality, I prefer to live in the real world, despite it’s sometimes harsh realities.

Their lack of respect, rejection of reality, and ideological allegience are sufficient reasons for me to ignore them. Every time I hear the word “cave”, my brain immediately shuts off! F@$k them!
