‘poker face’

Salon: At the annual White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday, SNL’s Seth Meyers made a quip about Osama bin Laden’s elusiveness….President Obama, who had actually authorized action against the terrorist leader on Friday morning, was sitting ten feet away. Check out his reaction:

Boy, oh Boy has this been some kind of several days! Whew! This President has been THE hardest working President in my lifetime. I am so impressed how POTUS can work on so many MAJOR action items and yet not LEAK a single word. His people are so loyal that they don’t let a single word slip out to the media or anyone! The repugs should NEVER EVER underestimate President Barack Obama again. D Chump should be feeling like such a FOOL for bringing up the birth certificate when the President was busy – and I mean BUSY doing the people’s work. My admiration cannot get any higher for President Obama. And I’m very grateful that he is our President at this time. OBAMA 2012!!!!

Thinking about how hard this President works, I am so glad for Michelle and the girls. The fact that he can have dinner with them each night really gives him the strength to go on. They keep him grounded.

And TPM pointed out how interesting it was to look back on Obama’s words on Sat. night when he commented about Trumps’s duties of deciding whether to fire Meatloaf or Gary Busey, saying, “Those are the kind of decisions which would keep me up late at night.”

I’m sure Secretary Gates know about the mission underway at that time too.

Its interesting to see him getting a belly laugh out of the joke as well.

These people were built for this, unfortunately the president before Barack Obama was not. We needed a strong, smart, empathic leader and Mr. Bush/Cheney did not fit that. I am not knocking Mr. Bush but the task was too big for him.

I wonder if President Obama timed the releasing of the long form of his birth certificate to keep the press distracted with something other than the then upcoming royal wedding. They weren’t paying attention to any serious stuff! It gave him some breathing room away from the hot seat to focus on the decision/s he was working on.

CIA Director Leon Panetta was also at that dinner and laughing his head off. I thought, “Boy, he is really enjoying this”. Little did I know. President Obama has a team that is rock solid and able keep their secrets close to their chests. What loyalty they give him because they know they are dealing with an brilliant adult.
