The best compliment this firefighter gave to the president, imo, is that PBO restored his faith in politicians. Yes, PBO has always been “a man of his word.”
Yep he has indeed (always been a man of his word) hopefully more and more folks will see the light- maybe this will help folks to pay better attention to the man and not the crap that gets spewed on teevee about the man.
Oprah asked him what he hoped his legacy will be – how ’bout “HE WAS A MAN OF HIS WORD”. Sounds accurate to me.
Yes. A man of integrity, a man of his word.
Beautiful, Gail. Thank you.
Hello – I just followed a link on BWD which led me here. I had been searching for video on the Wounded Warriors Ride. What a fantastic blog. I regret not have visited before.
Welcome aboard gc… This is a community that loves Our President and is tired of the false misinformation being spread about his Presidency. And when media outlets try to discredit him, we take action by emailing, spreading the word, and boycotting them. The people in this community are warm, hilariously funny, and whiplash SMART. The blog’s creator Chipsticks is an amazing GENIUS. So once again; welcome.
You just made me blush You know UT, if you saw me trying to add, say, 5 +7, and giving up when I run out of fingers …. you wouldn’t call me a genius.
Hahahahaha.. no way Chipsticks.. not believing that. The way you get information to all of us here at the speed of light, means you do have some genius tendencies.. and hey genius comes in many forms.. so what if you can’t add 5+7 sometimes… math is somewhat overrated in my opinion..lol.. I say this because I have to take Calculus and grrrrrh boy do I much prefer my genetics, biology, micorbiology, chemistry and research classes any day of the week
“genetics, biology, microbiology, chemistry”
Is that a Lady GaGa album title?
Hahahahaha… I wish… It’s the life of having a major for college and also having to take prerequisites for pre-med.
Oh crikey, you’re worryingly smart!
And you call me a genius?!?!
Hahaha.. thank you and I still maintain my stance on the genius comment.
Hiya GC – hey, any friend of BWD is a friend of mine Thank you so much for visiting, hope you enjoy the blog, thrilled to have you here.
GC, Welcome and enjoy! This place is such a comfort and a sanctuary. Please help to spread the word. We need as many as possible to see how VERY EXCELLENT one President can be! Warning though…The Obama Diary can be addictive but only in a most wonderful way! =) Welcome aboard!
Welcome…I am fairly new to this site myself…you are going to love coming here…the truth is here and the people are wonderful! I’M IN!
I totally choked up when the man said, “father to father.” Beautiful video. Thanks so much for posting, Chips.
Oh, meta, I did too. I was so moved by that.
Nothing else to say except God bless our president and may the victims including that man’s heroic son R.I.P.
THERE WILL BE LOTS OF WARMTH TRADED BETWEEN HANDSHAKES AND HUGS TOMORROW IN NEW YORK. I AM SO GLAD THE PRESIDENT IS GOING BECAUSE AS ‘COMFORTER-IN-CHIEF’ HE NEEDS TO BE THERE.
Do anyone know the time for the ground zero event.
I have looked everywhere for this, to no avail. I will check Whitehouse.gov first thing in the morning, or tune in to my ABC’s Good Morning America before 8PM to find out.
The time just released is:
1:25-wreath laying ceremony at Ground Zero, New York;
1:45-meets with 9/11 families;
returns to Washington.
There is also mention of a visit to a firehouse but no time associated with that. I know this is going to be very, very moving for all of us.
Hi everyone. Loved the video. Thanks for the chance to see it. I may get to be in the audience for the President’s visit to Indiana this week and feel so thrilled.
Good luck getting into the audience. And please give him a hug and a “thank you” from all of us – you might need to linger a little longer in the hug to get us all in there…
Funny but strategic!
The people they interviewed came across as such solid people. The people of NYC are amazing. My feeling from what I read is that President Obama wants to give closure and comfort to the people of the city. I have a feeling it will be closure for him, too, this is a promise he made long ago and now it is done. God bless them all.
Damn right, he’s a man of his word!
I get such a warm feeling when people announce that this is their first time visiting TOD and they enjoy the posts and the comments. And UT – your comments were spot-on! Chipsticks – BRILLIANT!
I am so happy to see that other people are starting to see what we hear knew all along. And that is that our President is not a perfect man, but he is a good man.A man who trys to do what is right for this country. He is a darn good President, and I am so proud to call him President Obama.
Thanks to you again Chipsticks for making this such a wonderful place to come and share and listen. You work so hard to make this such a wonderful haven of peace, truth, intellect, and encourgement. You get some rest.
I was moved so much by the gentleman saying “from a father to father.” That was so heartfelt coming from a father who lost his son. God bless tomorrow for our President, the families, and our nation. Let’s be positive and thankful for such a wonderful leader in our President.
This is the first time that I have commented here. Read this everyday, Chipsticks, but I just sit and take it all in:)I have to say that it was heartening to hear this man speak about what this meant to him.Made me think that the person in the street realizes how important this visit is to heal the wounds that are still open from this horrible event.Especially the people who were directly affected in NYC.The fact that this President IS a man of his word, speaks volumes to all those whose lives were changed on that horrific day.The people that REALLY count, not the pundits, not the politicans pursuing their ideological spin for political gain, understand that this President stands by his word.He laid it all on the line in his pursuit of this evil man, just like all the first responders laid themselves on the line on that awful day.Let the healing begin, and please bless and guide this amazing President.I can hardly wait for the photos from Mr. Sousa of this solemn day.Thank you for this space, and I promise to come and join in the conversation.
“The Man Who Got bin Laden: The Most Deadly Would-be Journalist in the World”
A combination of our President Obama and these professionals is assuredly terminally bad news for anyone who ‘treads on America.”
I just love President Obama and his family. May they live long and strong. May God bless all of you too
A man of honour. Quite frankly he did reinforce my trust in politicians after the turn coats we’ve had here. His consistency in his message is awesome – he might compromise but the message/beliefs remains unchanged.
O white working class males, now sayin what we knew! Love it.
Yes, working class white males President Obama is INDEED,
A man of his word who leads by the power of his example; not the example of his power.
A just human being who has empathy for mankind and is merciful even in vengeance!
A man who continues to represent this nation brilliantly even when he gets little thanks or appreciate, when asked he simply
says…I asked for the job!
That made to tear up….
Glad to see there are still some sane people out there. I still don’t understand why there are so many that refuse to give President Obama the credit he deserves as a great leader and yet continue to support a man that brought our country to its knees.
