As Jon said BOO-YAA! I only needed to see and could only stomach part 1. I can see O’Really and D Chump sitting around weaving story/lies so deep that they would forget how the story began. But Jon Stewart can hold his own!
Of course Stewart lets O’Reilly claim Common is the same as Ayers, Wright and Dorn without calling it utter nonsense, and lets Bill-o the Clown still try to tack Ayers and Wright to President Obama without any real pushback. Also he let Bill completely run from the Liddy point Jon was making.
I would have liked JS to bring up the Ted Nugent love from Hannity the same time as Sean tries to attack Common for saying “burn a bush” like it was a threat on Bush rather than a play on the biblical “burning bush”.
Hey Chipsticks there apparently is going to be a part two that O’Reilly airs tomorrow. But also you guys have to remember it’s Faux News. Who knows how Billo the clown might edit the interview. Stewart expressed that same fear on his show yesterday night.. b/c this isn’t the first time he’s sat down with Billo and had his words and the interview twisted.
Thanks UT, you’re absolutely right – I’m not a big fan of Stewart, but it wasn’t fair to judge him on those two clips, bearing in mind how Fox edit this stuff. I’m really hoping we’ll hear him mentioning Nugent, Fox have absolutely no answer to that one.
These guys are entertainers, remember? One is a comedian who has a pretend news show and the other is a huckster who makes outrageous comments for ratings and to sell his books. This so-called debate is for ratings and notoriety on both sides. They are part of the side show.
This reminds me of the time when actors Paul Newman and Charlton Heston were debating gun control.
Lots of people simply believe Stewart is defending the liberal view…but he is actually trying to score more viewers and needs to siphon them from O’Rielly.
What a shameless ratings scam on both their parts…nothing but entertainment huckstering.
May they all get at least a glimpse of our dear President and enjoy every sweet short moment of his stay. I know they will find a gracious man full of love and humor. CANNOT WAIT!!
This is just a fantastic story – the Ireland trip is going to be simply amazing! I can’t believe he’s only going to be there for an hour in Moneygall, but I hope that the people there are happy to just get a glimpse of him. They are so excited, and it’s just a wonderful thing to see. I just want to say “bless their little hearts”!
Lovely story, can’t wait for the trip. Do you know if the enitre family is going or just PBO and Mrs. O? They do have the state visit with the queen after all and I’ve never really heard of an enitre family going on a state visit. But it would be nice for the girls to see part of where their family’s story began. So excited.
Part 2 made me sick. These people have got deep psychological problems. So… what O’liar is actually saying is that they are planning to bring up all the garbage that they used in the 2008 campaign, and they’ve decided to add Common to the list of people they’re going to use as “character attacks” on the President. What a bunch of losers! What about the fact that Bush palled around with Scooter Libby and Karl Rove, who callously outted an agent while she’s was under cover in hostile territory? What about that? If they want to cry about poor character, then they need to look in the mirror.
I’m going to be so happy when karma comes round for Fox “News”.
While it is all quite terrible and very classeless…Fox news is what it is.
The good news is that POTUS’ ratings are sky high. He also won in 2004 with the highest margin of votes of any non-incumbent President in history.
What I believe this says is that the folks who truly matter and determine the election outcome, independents…are not
buying all the Fox noise.
If we figure that 40% of voters are Obots, another 40% are Onots, then the remaining 20% is what POTUS has to claim and based on POTUS’ numbers he has those votes.
We can also figure that he is going to win those swing states with lots of Onots, like PN, OH, WI, IN, MI, because of how he saved the auto industry and those folks jobs along with how the repubs all said let GM go bankrupt and folks aren’t going to forget they were also saying they did not care about their jobs.
A few of those states also elected crazy GOP governors and are now paying the price for that misguided judgment with a loss of their pensions, jobs, and collective bargaining.
Fox News cannot make enough noise at this point, based on Obama’s record of accomplishments, to sway the swing voters…not even a lot of the GOP is buying that stuff anymore.
So, that means the only thing they can do is stop a landslide of a re-election..cause POTUS successes are just to many.
Seems chipsticks is a bit thin skinned seeing as my posts under my usual handle don’t seem to show up anymore. Because I don’t like Tweety? I mean come on!
Hi Fred, Your comments didn’t show last night because I put you on ‘pending’ after having to delete some of your stuff from yesterday – it had nothing to do with anything you said about Tweety, I was gone to bed by then. I think most people come here to get a break from sites where they are insulted for their opinions, so some of your comments on the Trump thread yesterday weren’t welcome here. You’re free to come back, if you want to, but please don’t ridicule other posters just because they have a different opinion to yours.
These are 2 of the most annoying people on TV. I stopped watching Jon after he addressed the president as dude and was very condescending in that interview. O’Reilly I never watched and never will. The debate is just a publicity stunt.
Jon Stewart could have been useful in informing the youth on facts, without associating with any party; but he chose instead to feed his ego. I can’t believe he had that rally last year, and didn’t tell a single person to go out and vote. That made the rally just an exercise in ego. He comes out once in a while with some useful information, but I stopped watching him regularly a while back.
That’s when he lost me too Theo!!! And all the attempt to appear balanced and to appease the rightwing and his friends at Fox news by sacrificing President Obama as his constant whipping boy!!! Sickening and pathetic!!!
This is the reasons when Fox is spewing out there lies, they don’t have someone from the other side who could show them for what they are. Those people over there at Fox knew exactly what they were doing, it was the time when we were talking about the killing of bin Laden, and what a job the President did, what leadership he showed, so Fox wanted to start up some fake controversy. That’s all that fake Common outrage was about. I’m glad Stewart put that loud mouth know it all O’Rielly in his place. Till they come up with the next fake outrage.
I must say that I can’t understand why Stewart felt the need to go up against O’Reilly to discuss Common. I find it insulting. If O’Reilly had questions about Common, why not have the debate with Common. Why folks believe it is okay with having a wh*te man speak for a black man is beyond me. Are they saying that is the only way Common’s own words and deeds would have any credibility?
Common’s response to the faux controversy was the right one. Recognized it for what it was and moved on.
PAWNED!
As usual, Jon nails it.
Oooh, I risked watching it – was that what was acually aired on O’Reilly? I can’t believe Bill-O would allow himslef to get schooled like that.
As Jon said BOO-YAA! I only needed to see and could only stomach part 1. I can see O’Really and D Chump sitting around weaving story/lies so deep that they would forget how the story began. But Jon Stewart can hold his own!

I’m hoping there’s a Part 3, I can’t believe either that Stewart didn’t mention Nugent and his fanboys Hannity and Huckabee.

Sometimes it feels like Jon has indeed earned our distrust of him and his motives, Chip…
Did you know that he and Anthony Weiner were room mates…
It sort of explains a lot…
Yes!StR
Stewarts silence on those guilt by association smears by O’rielly was unacceptable… made me cringe.
I despise O’Rielly.
Jon Stewart is a brilliant, brilliant man.
The sad thing is that he’ll probably hang it up soon, but the Fox News “outrage machine” will go on and on and on with nobody to put it in its place.
Oh this is soooo true
OMG, that ROCKS. Thank you!
Brilliant – the media needs to own their complicity in this shamefulness of Donald Trump. They hurt a lot of people.
So spot on. F the so called media. They are tools thats all. Thanks, Kelly.
So sooo true…It is a shame how much power the media possesses …
Donna…that was awesome!! Thanks
So true…just quit feeding the damn beast of stupidity and hatemongering, creating their own reality for their own polls.
Just mind numbing sickening!
I would love to send this to the news stations. Because what he was saying was the truth. The media was just as much to blame for Trump as Trump.
These guys are entertainers, remember? One is a comedian who has a pretend news show and the other is a huckster who makes outrageous comments for ratings and to sell his books. This so-called debate is for ratings and notoriety on both sides. They are part of the side show.

Quite perspicacious Ceb!!
Lots of people simply believe Stewart is defending the liberal view…but he is actually trying to score more viewers and needs to siphon them from O’Rielly.
What a shameless ratings scam on both their parts…nothing but entertainment huckstering.
This is OT, but I can barely stand it. I can’t wait for PBO to arrive in MONEYGALL!! This just seems so sweet:

Well stated.
Thank you Chipsticks for protecting our piece of the garden.
The Video above about the Media, hit the nail on the head. I like that, soooooooooo true
O’Silly has been served! Way to go Jon.
Hey sis O’silly? Cute one LMAO

You need to watch it. He got schooled on his own show. Sanctimonious fool that he is.
lmao!
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO…STEWART WAS BRILLIANT…O’REILLY DOES SPEND ALOT OF HIS TIME…WASTING TIME!
I must say that I can’t understand why Stewart felt the need to go up against O’Reilly to discuss Common. I find it insulting.
