I’m in touch with WordPress Support and they’re trying to solve the problem for me, I’m mystified by it! I haven’t made any changes at all to the site, so I have no clue what’s going on.
Thanks for letting me know TBS, hopefully I’ll get it fixed VERY soon!
TPM has an article up about this stating that Obama is going to talk about his recovery plan for the Middle East. I don’t know if the admin would put it that way but you should see some of the comments. Just ridiculous. As if Obama is ignoring this country in favor of the ME.
I agree with PBO. I’m a lover of history, both American and International. I’m quite aware of the histories of Israel and Palestine, I’m very sympathetic to the issues but I’m tired of it. This upcoming meeting with BB Netanyahu is the 7th one in two years not to mention the constant phone contact PBO has had with him. I was surprised and mullified when PBO aired this feeling of acute frustration too, not in the same words of course, but he said something to the effect of :” the international community is __________, when they have worked to come up with solutions, only to have both sides not agree/ come together/respond.” There needs to be a two state solution and Israel and Palestine must figure out how to handle Jerusalem. I doubt God is happy with two peoples killing each other over land- the irony of each people trying to hold on the the ‘holy land’ while killing each other to gain access to it is really unbelievable. It is beyond ridiculous and they need to get to the table and work it out. This stalemate cannot last much longer because the international community is tired of this stubborness. Life is about compromise, learn to share or split and move on. Reporters are reporting about how the Palestinians and Israeli people feel about PBO and how disappointed they are in him, well it looks and sounds like he’s disappointed and tired of them too, so am I and many people with whom I converse. Why are we the international police? why do they constantly complain about how America isn’t doing enough to solve everybody’s problems? Really? These people are so damn lucky that Ron or Rand Paul aren’t president because they would be shit out of luck. And I’m not just talking about Israel and Palestine on this, I’m talking about the Arab world as a whole too. First they complain about us because we are western, then they badger us because we aren’t saving them in the way they want. I don’t know how PBO deals with this, but I’m very irritated. There’s a saying that ‘God helps those who help themselves’, well it’s a lesson everyone should learn. Stop being stubborn and participate, give up something to get something in return. This stuff is wearing very, very thin. My belief is I would rather share or split land than cost another mother or child’s life. Life is too short for this.
ps- sorry if I’m coming on too strong, I had a friend who several years ago went to visit family in Israel and while she was there, there was a horrible attack that killed several of her family members and she barely made it out of there alive. Several of her family member’s houses were decimated and just the carnage of it all was too much. Israel needs to recognize that Palestine is it’s own soverign state and stop building excess settlements and Palestine should recognize the rights of Israel and stop murdering it’s people. It should also renege from the compact between Fatah and Hamas as it is fundamentally the opposite of any hopes of peace.
As usual POTUS spoke the REAL TRUTH to all parties. It.IS.TIME. And I think the heads of states are getting the message that he ain’t playin no mo’! By now, POTUS has built up some credibility when he says something he’s going to do (“get bin Laden even if he’s in Pakistan”) so it would behoove these heads of states to get realistic and work with this great leader.
The ME is a difficult one, especially Israel and Palestine. Apparently BB Net. has already rejected the Prez’s proposals and the Palestinians are saying that the Prez has not gone far enough. As long as these two parties refrain from compromise I’m afraid that the situation might not be settled in the near future.
All set up to watch the President deliver his message about the US policy on the Middle East and Northern Africa.
Chippy, are you aware that the title graphics on your blog are missing? I can’t see them, did you take them off? Your blog looks different somehow.
Hi theboysisters, there have been all kinds of weird things happening with the site the past few days, see this thread from last night:

I’m fired up and ready to watch. Thanks Chipsticks!
Obama stuck on Chicago time. He’s always 30-40 mins late. Lol.
I think they usually announce the time everyone is supposed to be seated, and then he comes out 30 minutes later. At least for the speeches.
thanks a bunch
hillary talking now. she looks gorgeous
PBO looks good. Don’t know how he does it, especially in light of all the hard work he’s been doing.
Well this speech already has me teary, he is so moving.
Excellent speech. Very brave, and direct. I have to listen to it again.
Wonderful, courageous speech.
