USA Today: President Obama, who returns from a five-day European trip on Saturday, heads to Joplin, Mo., on Sunday to tour the damage from last week’s devastating tornadoes.
He’ll also make brief remarks at a memorial service for those who died and thank first responders who have been searching for survivors and consoling victims. He and FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate also will meet with state and local officials to discuss the federal-state response to the disaster.
The service will be held at 2 p.m. CT at the Taylor Performing Arts Center at Missouri Southern State University.

Woohoo POTUS is back! I’m happy. But I bet his girls are over the moon!
Oops just noticed this is the Saturday schedule. 24 hours from now.
That’s okay Ann-T, we are all excited!!!! He’ll be home soon. Can’t wait.
Hopefully everything goes according to schedule and he arrives back home safely. I also hope that his trip to Joplin, Missouri on sunday goes successfully.
Mixed feeling about a Joplin Memorial. My thoughts and prayers go out to that community, but I wonder if this is starting a precedent it would be impossible to continue. What happens during the next natural disaster or the one that happened in Alabama?
That being said I hope everything goes well.
I want my President back. He’s been gone long enough.
Can’t wait til he touches back down on US soil. *sending vibes for safe travel*
Has anybody seen Michelle over the last two days? I hope she’s getting a lot of rest and time with the girls, but I miss seeing her
.
Me too. She’s probably laying low. She’s gotta be tired. She’ll surface when the President gets back. She may be travelling with him on Sunday.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH….TIME FOR THE PREZ. TO COME HOME! IT’S GOING TO BE GREAT HAVING HIM BACK ON HOME TURF! I WILL BE RELIEVED TO SAY THE LEAST!
MICHELLE AND THE GIRLS ARE GOING TO BE HAPPY! THEN ON SUNDAY…MISSOURI TO COMFORT THOSE SUFFERING TORNADO DAMAGE! BUT…IT’S IN OUR COUNTRY!
Will he ever get to rest? I hope all those aides who have to keep up with him take their vitamins.
Thank you very much for tomorrow’s schedule, Chips! As you can see, we miss our President. I’ve loved this whole trip – most especially the connections made in Ireland and the incredible pride we all saw there – but I’m ready to have President Obama safely home. I hope his family and Bo are waiting to greet him with enormous hugs upon arrival!
Wait.. what…argh!!! I thought today was his last day way over there. UGGG *sad face*
Sorry, but my assessment is from the tweets coming from over there earlier when potus first arrived (which I would certainly not post here) and I stand by my opinion. Moving right along…..
Hahaha.. no Kelly I used an emoticon to depict the *sad face* that you wrote about. I too am sad that he’s not back home yet.
Why don’t we all send, via whitehouse.gov, a welcome home greeting? I think we should gird him some in light of ignoramuses saying he should have been here because of the tornadoes, instead of drinking beer with the Irish. I heard this on an NPR show, and the host is a real air-head anyway. A few weekly guests called the “Barbershop”, giving their opinions. There was one who said he likes to see his president on the ready in case of catastrophes. As if PBO “knew” a tornado would strike. The stupidity in this country is just profound, and I am not one of those highly educated folk who should know better than to sound so damn stupid. Also, next campaign, I will not listen to any rethug live. I avoided as much as possible GWB for eight long years, and we had to suffer the ’08 season. I am determined to enjoy PBO’s time in office; get filled up as much as I can, and everybody else can go to hell
I’m with you, Ed! Great idea, since we know there will absolutely be plenty of ignoramuses waiting to start trouble tomorrow. The schedule for his last day looks jam packed – two press availabilities, two arrival ceremonies, meeting with veterans, taking part in meetings! I don’t know where he gets the energy, but thank God he does!
Every damn day they raise the bar on this Presidency. I’m just so sick of these nonstop idiotic judgements from people who are absolutely oblivious to PBO’s achievements. You know, the ones that MATTER. ENOUGH.
IT’S JEALOUSY AND ENVY, REVENGE BECAUSE HE MADE IT TO THE PRESIDENCY…ADD TO THAT A VARIETY OF REPUBLICAN AGENDAS! DON’T WORRY…THE PREZ. IS THE ‘ONLY ADULT IN THE ROOM’…HE’LL BE FINE…HE HAS A GREAT WHITE HOUSE TEAM AND HE KNOWS WE ALL LOVE HIM.!!!!!!!
So true, jealousy is the root of all this drama. They wish they had him, but they don’t we do, this big family of supporters who love him. They are jealous of his heritage, smarts, wife and children.
Great idea, Ed. Consider it done!
On, and for those of you who haven’t read it already – Deaniac has another fine essay at TPV:

Yes.We.Can. … DO.More.Together!
My letter – thank you, again, Ed for the suggestion:
Dear Mr President,
Welcome home and thank you for the enormous achievement your trip to Ireland, UK and Europe represents.
You have won the hearts and minds of countless individuals; you have warmed them with the generosity of your spirit; and, you have restored respect for America – no small task given the vast damage GW Bush and his Administration did to our values and our reputation as a Nation of Laws and one that respects the life of every person.
To the Future!
Bob
Yes.We.Can. … DO.More.Together!
Great letter Bobfr. Will get mine over to him first thing in the morning, after my java

Thanks Donna!
I know the girls are counting the minutes till he walk in that door. I bet Bo is too, dog minutes.
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL…THAT’S SWEET ANNIE…HOPE ‘BO’ DIDN’T LEAVE HIM THE UNEXPECTED IN THE YARD!!!!!
This man’s stamina and strength simply amaze me. I’ve never seen any human being work this hard anywhere on this planet. Get some rest, sir!!! Damn!
OBAMA 2012!!!! Because we need him now more than ever.
Hah…I’m tired just reading about it.
REMEMBER…THAT’S OUR ‘ENERGIZER BUNNY’ PREZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!! THERE’S NO STOPPIN’ HIM!!!!!
Here’s some more video of President Obama in Poland.
I only wish I knew what they were saying.
One more
Thanks Donna. He looks as fresh as a daisy, lol.
How does he do it?! He’s on Day 5 of the trip, jet lagged, stressed from being in front of the cameras all day and night, pomped and circumstanced out from his time at Buckingham Palace and London, and just off a full two days of presidential negotiating in France. And he looks fresh as a daisy!
“pomped and circumstanced out”
Hahaha….that is so funny, but true. Michelle can’t hang like hubby because he is the real “energizer bunny”. He always says his wife is sound asleep while he’s up all night. A person after my own heart, but I’m retiring now so’s I can get up early and greet my President back home
Nite Theo and TOD family.
Please join me in lighting a candle for our President’s safe return home tomorrow.

Candle lit – we need more. Only 17 at last count.
Candle lit at 11:13 pm.
This is how I deal with negative commenters…I have decided that there is a group of 50-100 people who do nothing all day but find arenas where they can make negative comments. They assume different personas to make people think there is a large group doing this….there isn’t…there is this fringe nutty group. The majority of people aren’t even aware enough to write, they are watching American Idol. So, mentally dealing with them in this manner, I can go on and not stress…Actually, I do think it is a small number of people who do these things. We are highly involved and care, and assume everyone else is….they aren’t. As someone said on this or BWD, they’ll be involved Labor Day 2012.
Love the welcome home lettter idea!
Good strategy – that small group of people are highly deluded.
They intend only to disrupt. I wish they really wanted to engage in an exchange of ideas…but I suspect some of them are actually paid to fan the flames and spew the bile.
