GOPolitico: John Boehner has shown his weepy side once again … he welled up a few times during his commencement address at Ohio State University on Sunday.
What set off the waterworks this time? Boehner got emotional twice when he mentioned his parents and again when stressing the importance of gratitude.
….In a lighter moment, Boehner talked about his early days as an unknown politician with a troublesome last name.
“When you begin to go out there and ask people to vote for you, they’re probably not gonna vote for you if they can’t say your name,” he said. “You know, my name looks like Beener, Bonner, Boner.”
Then, to the delight of the crowd, he added: “Thank God it’s not Weiner.”
Boehner also cried when delivering Catholic University’s commencement address last month.
AHH bOEHNER PLEASE, LIKE REALLY, CAN’T YOU SAY ANYTHING WITHOUT CRYING, AND LOOKING UGLY?????
He doesn’t cry over the millions of Americans who don’t have jobs, are having their benefits cut, don’t have a place to live, etc. If the way he grew up has such a lasting impact on him, it would seem that he’d have SOME compassion for those who are in the same predicament now that he was in then. Tears of a Clown is the correct caption for this post. Thanks, Chipsticks!
Let’s give him something to really cry about ……Speaker Pelosi 2012.
I don’t mind seeing a grown man cry, in fact I can’t imagine what it might be like to rarely if ever cry…but this guy has a problem with his plumbing. As my Dad used to say, “shut that faucet off!”
Is he crying about that jobs bill he hasn’t written?
Is he crying about the teachers that have been laid off?
Is he crying about the voter suppression tactics of his fellow Rethuglican’ts?
Huh? What John? I CAN’T HEAR YOU…
The day that I see him crying about the jobs that are not being brought forth as he promised, then I will believe these tears. Yes, I think we will give Speaker Boehner something to REALLY cry about: 2012, Ladies and Gentlemen welcome Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. Goodnight my dear TOD family. Thanks Chipsticks for all you do for us here.
Thank you all for saying exactly what I was thinking. Is he crying about people having no jobs? Is he crying because he haven’t done a dam thing to help sper job growth? All these clowns want to do is place the blame on President Obama, but what have Boehner and the Republicans done? Not a dog gone thing from what I see. And I pray the voters don’t buy it either. They are choosing to do nothing in hopes of defeating this President. If he really gave a dam he would be working with President Obama and the Democrats to pass some job bill. In 2010 the votrs gave the Republicans some of the responsibility to run this government, well what have they done? Along with re-electing President Obama in 2012, I am so hoping we will re-elected Nancy Pelosi back as the only Speaker who lnew how to get the job done and who cared for the middle class and poor. @012 let us give Boehner something to really cry about, by having it be Ladies and Gentlemen the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the President of the United States Barack H. Obama. Let Boehner cry and choke on that.
Excuse the mistkes I made but I think you get what I was trying to say. 2012 let us give Boehner something to really cry about. We have to stay focus and fired up and really to fight for our President. They want us to get down and depress, to lose hope, but we will not. We will fight for this President, because we believe in him. He is trying to do what is best for all Americans. So despite what the media try to do we can’t let them get to us. We must and we will keep hope alive. YES WE WILL and YES WE CAN!!!!!!
I think he cries because he is depressed. On some level, he must know that he is acting as a door stop to progress that Americans need to get jobs and for the country to get out of this recession. He knows he and his cohorts are out of ideas, that they will sell out to the 1/4 of the top 1 percent of rich people. He knows he will be rich, but he still has to look at the guy in the mirror when he shaves.
If I had to look the guy he looks at in the mirror, knowing how bad America needs to come back from this recession, I’d weep too. He has to have a bad conscience. He just has to.
