Then perhaps Nancy should talk about Boehner’s mistresses.
holy batman!
ROFL, too funny
You know, if Nancy (whom I love to bits) and other democrats had done this with the Weiner episode, that would have died down to a non-issue and the democrats could have teased out saying stuff about him while getting their message out with all of the media ready to stir up trouble. Look, I’m not a Weiner fan but he at least drew attention to the Rethuglicans hypocrisy and to the Clarence and Ginny Thomas conflict of interest. Like him or not, he went onto Fake Noise and attacked them on their home turf. Who do the democrats have as a backup to take his place?
Being a democrat is so hard sometimes because of all of the emoting and precious little foresight and planning!! Well, Nancy, I got your back no matter what!!!
When MSM get onto something, they will care less about giving attention anything/anyone else…and with the drip, drip of information regarding this matter. Congressman Weiner should have/could have stopped this craziness three weeks…this is his mess, it’s his fault; not his wife, Nancy, the Dems, the women…Congressman Weiner did this to himself, by himself…he did nt have to do it! I agree with you, “being a democrat is so hard sometimes…” but for me, this is not one of those times.
I’m not absolving Weiner at all; just pointing out that the democrats could have turned this to their advantage instead of acting pious. All they had to do was talk about whatever they wanted to get out there -re: talking points – while teasing about talking about Weiner and it would have played the MSM. They (democrats) had a golden opportunity to get their message out unfettered…until the MSM caught on.
I’d rather have a Democrat who didn’t vote for the Iraq War or to defund ACORN like Wiener did. I’d rather have a Democrat who actually gets stuff done rather than grandstanding for the press at every opportunity. I’m glad he felt passionately about his own issues but that isn’t enough. We need ACTION.
Agreed, Meta. But a whole bunch of democrats voted to defund ACORN, not only Weiner. I hold everyone of them accountable for that and look forward to having them make amends by apologizing and then having ACORN come back stronger than ever. Enough with Weiner.
Losers. A total pack of losers – the lame-stream corporate media, that is.
Well done Leader Pelosi; very well done.
Yes.We.Can. … DO.More.Together!
Totally agree, Bob and I will be sending Leader Pelosi a fax with that very same message. “Well Done, very well done, Gentlewoman Pelosi. You do all of us proud and we have your back.” That’s my message about that.
For a democracy to work well, the networks should see themselves as promoting debates that matter to the people. Jobs matter. Weiner’s behavior was just a sensational distraction. I would feel that if a Republican had something to say that was truthful and added to the debate about jobs, that that party should be heard on the networks too.
The networks have lost their sense of what they are supposed to be doing. They don’t seem to understand that they play a role in getting truth on important issues out in front of the people. They cheapen debate, go for the seamiest topics, especially if it relates to sexual behavior. I would be ashamed if I were the networks. They can do better than that.
The NETWORKS/MEDIA are a wholly-owned subsidiary of the GOP. PERIOD. They choose the message, who delivers it, and how it is presented.
And you wonder why our message doesn’t get out???
tally, I agree with every word you stated…I watched Weiner’s resignation on MSNBC and more than once that Tamron (sp?) person asked, “can the dems get back on message?”, “will the dems get back on message?”…and I screamed, “DUMB DODO HEAD START DOING YOUR JOB”!!
Wiener took every opportunity while showcasing himself on the television to not to support President Obama as a good staunch Democrat should. I do not feel sorry for him just his wife who married a weinie of a man. He had to know he would not get away with this behavior. It was a matter of when it would cone to light.
Yeah, but think about that for a minute……. had he screamed “OBAMA IS AWESOME” while going through all this, all the GOP would have to say is: “Look! Sex-offenders support Obama.”
And don’t think for a nanosecond they wouldn’t.
I think Mae was talking about prior to the scandal breaking. Rep. Weiner loved attacking President Obama from the left on virtually every issue.
I agree that Weiner got what he deserved in terms of negative press. But democrats need to grow some balls and circle their wagons and FIGHT!!! DAMN, FOR ONCE IN MY 44 YEARS, I’D LOVE TO SEE A UNIFIED DEMOCRATIC PARTY STAND TALL AND PROUD AND SAY “F*CK YOU ALL WHO ARE TRYING TO F*CK THE REST OF THE COUNTRY!!!!!” Nancy Pelosi will do that; who else is strong enough to stand tall with her??
Listen TOD Family, like it or not, we’re going to have to strike some coalitions with some people we have no use for. President Obama does that everyday; we can follow his lead or act like the ‘Baggers or PL and demand purity. I want PBO/VPJB to run away with the election and want and need the down ticket democrats to win so we can truly take our country back (or forward)!!
Here is the thing. Politicians like Pelosi can stand up to fight and others in Congress need to fight, too. But where does that leave the rest of us? You have some on the left who day in and day out find something to bash this president about and Democratic leaders about, instead of blasting the Republicans for the nonesense they are carrying on, not only on the national level, but in states all across the country. We need a sustained and unified attack on the republicans, not just the politicians. We are part of this, too.
No one is saying that PBO and the likes of Pelosi, is above criticism, but the manner of criticism, the volume and the non-stop nitpicking no matter what they does is darn right infruiating. During the health care debates, there were action diaries all across the lefty blogs to call on our Congressmen to do this and do that. Of late, look across the landscape, how many diaries or pieces are there calling on people to gather and call Republicans on their bullshit. Instead, one after another, people pile on this president and Democrats like Pelosi, who are working hard to do the people’s business.
Even as Weiner goes down, there are those that are backing him for what he did and are blaming the president, Pelosi and DWS for his political demise. That by calling on him to resign makes the party weak. This man took away the momentum of three weeks of hits on Republicans for trying to kill Medicare. He told baldface lies and accused the other group of some kind of conspiracy, knowing he had multiple pictures of himself all across the Internet. It was not like he had just one. He lied to the very supporters, who back him to the end. And to make matter worse, when you look at his record during his tenure in Congress, what does he have to show for it, aside from his bombastic rants on TV?
The the politicians are not the only ones that need to get unified. All of us need to take stock and realize that if we don’t, the Republicans will take this country, and when they do, they will dismantle everything liberals have worked for in behalf of the common man. To my mind, we are all accountable, all of us.
ughhh — ‘no matter what they do’
Here is what I sent to a friend of mine who runs a politically left website, when asked what he should do more of:
(POTTY MOUTH ALERT!!!! I get a little soccer-Tourette’s when I get really pissed off…..)
I’d like to see more articles and stuff about why it’s so important for everyone to get off their asses and VOTE in 2012. And not just for every progressive/liberal (NON-BlueDog) Dem on every ballot across the country, but for Obama as well.
***AND TALK ABOUT THE ONGOING PROCESS OF THE GOP TRYING TO STOP PEOPLE FROM VOTING.
NO ONE is going to Primary Obama. NO ONE. Obama is our candidate. Anyone who thinks he’s as bad as anyone in the GOP hasn’t been paying attention to what’s been happening all over the country. They really don’t know about the union busting in WI (and the rest of the US), or the anti-birth control legislation in OK, or the fact we’ve got a chance of at least THREE Supreme Court nominations coming up in the next 5.5 years, or the fact the GOP is trying desperately to get rid of HCR, or to take away voting rights, or make the Bush tax cuts permanent…. the list is fucking endless. I’m glad Elizabeth Warren hasn’t taken any small planes….
Voting third party or a no vote for POTUS is no different than all the Nader voters in 2000. If anyone thinks there won’t be a fight like Bush v Gore in 2012 if the election isn’t a complete landslide, needs their head examined. And NO, no one gets a pass for not participating. Everyone who abstains is responsible. A viable third party without instant runoff elections is a fantasy, as much as some people might desire it, so stop chopping off you’re own head!
Yes, I KNOW many want Obama to be more of a fighter. But while wanting him to physically slap the shit out of every loser in DC might be very satisfying, it’s an infantile fantasy. Most Americans don’t want their POTUS to be the schoolyard bully that Bush Jr was….. but that’s neither here nor there.
Obama is still PARSECS better than any other candidate out there. The biggest problem is the dysfunctional congress WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, sent to work with Obama. It’s not Obama’s fault that there are such a bunch of fucktards in both the House & Senate who refuse to work with him, and an entire opposition party who’s only goal is to destroy him, even if that means destroying the country along with him…. THAT’S OUR FAULT FOR SENDING THEM THERE. WE MUST OWN THAT.
WE must OWN that there are pathetic BlueDogs™ who are bought and paid for whores. WE must OWN the fact we didn’t send enough progressives to the SENATE to get past the 60 Magical Vote requirement the GOP stuck to because THEY COULD. WE MUST OWN the fact that so many disgruntled spoiled baby Dems who were easily swayed by all the negative braying about Obama didn’t do XYZ…. and stayed at home and didn’t vote in 2010.
The Rolling Stone are absolutely correct: You can’t always get what you want. And you certainly can’t demand that ANY President work alone, or undo 50+ years of systematic deregulation and destruction of the Middle Class, and The New Deal, and the greatest transfer of wealth in our country’s history, over fucking night.
We’ve become a selfish ME society that demands instant gratification regarding ANYTHING, and we have memories of goldfish. Government change isn’t a sporting event. Obama has gotten a lot done in the face of AN EPIC, WELL FUNDED OPPOSITION, THAT COMPLETELY OWNS THE MEDIA in two and a half years including HCR, shooting the shit out of Somali Pirates, and taking out OSAMA BIN FUCKING LADEN.
It’s time to step up, and stand behind our POTUS, and FOR THE SAKE OF ALL THE GODS EVERYWHERE, STOP BELITTLING HIM AT EVERY TURN.
It’s time to single out who in both houses of Congress we want IN, and who we want OUT. NAME THEM. NAME THEIR REPLACEMENTS AND WHY….
It’s time to help, and stop hurting our own cause.
Every day you should be screaming about being held hostage by a minority who wants 60 Magical Votes in the Senate. And screaming about the ridiculous threat to not raise the debt ceiling, and trying to end Medicare etc – SCREAM ABOUT GETTING RID OF THE SS/MEDICARE CONTRIBUTION CAP SO EVERYONE PAYS THE SAME % INCLUDING THE SUPERRICH.
NAME the Dems who actually fight, and are trying to introduce jobs legislation, then NAME the GOPERS who refuse to allow those bills even to come to the floor……
Obama has gotten a mountain of shit done so far in the face of mind-boggling opposition. For that he needs to be called Superman! Just think how much more he could have done had he had the Magical 60+ votes in the Senate, and a supermajority in the house! If that had happened, everyone would be lining up to suck his dick instead of whining about how less than perfect he is.
(Sorry my TOD family for my potty mouth…….)
Excellent rant- simply perfect!
Dayum girl tally, talk about telling it like it is!
Thank you Theo67 & Titti so much! I was beginning to think no one read it. It is a little VERBOSE….
“Even as Weiner goes down, there are those that are backing him for what he did and are blaming the president, Pelosi and DWS for his political demise. That by calling on him to resign makes the party weak. ”
So how does the PL calling PBO every name in the book not weaken the party and everything he tries to do?? Just way too much hypocrisy for me.
Weiner didn’t know the definition of UNITY when it counted and this is the result. No one to cover for you.
Also, I am not going to join a coalition of people who are out to destroy the Democratic party.
Nancy wanted to talk about the governments business, but the media wanted to talk sleaze. Good for you Nancy!
Now I’m sure they’ll move along to other important issues like blanket coverage of the golf game with Rusty.
Mrs. Pelosi, will be able to talk all she want when she is Speaker of the House again. In 2012
Weiner’s problem was he never met a camera he didn’t like before the scandal. He was always spouting off on the MSM shows and grandstanding on the House floor, not to mention his desire to be Mayor of NY – where most of the media outlets are based. The media wasn’t going to let this die – especially after I think they gave him the benefit of the doubt and didn’t jump right in when Brietbart said he had something and Weiner said it was a hack. Then there was the drip, drip, drip of more and more stories and pictures.
Politically I think he’s finished because of the way he handled this he allowed it to grow and grow. There will be no comeback, no second act.
Then again maybe the PL will have found their primary candidate for President Obama…
with all due respect StR but during the scandal he went and spoke to every news channel until his wiener was about to get nailed by that punk Breitbart
…just like a teabagger candidate can not win the general election, a professional lefty can not win the general election. I don’t think a pl can win the primary; these folks only make up a small percentage of the dem base…mst reasonable dems think Weiner is a fool.
Primary candidate — lovely.
Thanks for reminding me exactly why I don’t watch that garbage. That was truly pathetic and an embarrassment to what’s left of the “profession.”
And right there in the picture it says “This is CNN- the Worldwide Leader in News”. Yeah, “news”….. That is sad.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke about jobs, the economy and legislation on Chinese currency and unfair trade practices at her weekly legislative briefing. She, along with Rep. Mark Critz (D-PA) and Rep. Sander Levin (D-MI) briefed reporters at the Capitol for twenty minutes.
Nora odonell replaces chip reed as CBS WH correspondent!
Speaking of media, I saw a story that Norah O’Donnell is leaving MSNBC and getting a chief White House correspondent job at CBS. Our “ace reporter” Chip Reid becomes a national correspondent. Me thinks the Chipster was demoted. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.
Jovie, great minds think a like. We must have been posting at the same time.
I don’t like either one, Chip or Nora.
Couldn’t happen to a better person, if he is indeed being demoted. He is full of himself.
good riddance to old Chip ;)
Fred, I was about to say “why are you being mean to me??” :-(

Is national seen as a demotion? The politics of this is not clear to me. Norah is usually less offensive than most on MSNBC. I would guess this has to be a promotion from her point of view.
Tim-Palin-Tea gets glittered by code pink. Should I smile  or
naw Me you should
I know I am
This speaks volume about the media, and what it’s are all about. All of it is full of alot of crap. I have no respect for CNN, MSNBC, FOX, or any of the others. One question, have any of the media shown the picture of Speaker Boehner smoking? I could be wrong but I’m willing to bet they haven’t even mention it, but if it was Obama they would be dragging his name through the mud. But that’s our sorry media.
Not only that anniebella, but why the media Not talking about Boehner’s mistress??? This Is just too transparent. Media covers democrats mess, but not the rethugs??? Come now
Are you saying Boehner has a mistress? Is this for real? I was just about to ask if he was married? Because I never see his wife, is he married? Do he really have a mistress?
First post in this thread is a link to that story.
What an embarrassment? This is precisely why the American people are so uninformed. The media has abdicated it’s responsibility to educate and inform the public.
The Reality Show, aka media, works overtime contributing to the dumbing down of America. Keeps them in business.
What I love about that image on the video is that it shows Pelosi as House Speaker (D) instead of Minority Leader. Hehehe.
I didn’t even notice that! Excellent – either a good omen, or a Freudian slip. Either way, it looks right.
I love that pic of him walking by himself! I wonder how he felt?
Wow How did that happen, I was at the other article.
Oh my God! They are completely clueless about what their job is supposed to be.
