there’s a word for this…..

PM Carpenter: Eric Cantor, in his own oblivious way, has redefined the art of political compromise:

I believe that we have identified trillions in spending cuts, and to date, we have established a blueprint that could institute the fiscal reforms needed to start getting our fiscal house in order. That said, each side came into these talks with certain orders, and as it stands the Democrats continue to insist that any deal must include tax increases.

And there you have it. Each side entered negotiations with “certain orders,” yet those from the White House and its Democratic majority in the Senate are illegitimate, and thus obscene, while those from House Republicans are immutable, untouchable, and thus divine……

….. There is a legal term for it.

Treason.

    Yeah, orders from Grover Norquist.

I just hope that the Bush tax cuts are not part of the negotiations – ie the GOP trying to make them permanent as part of any deal.

God, even by Republican standards Cantor is a scumbag. This guy is the scheming vizier of the Republican Party; mistreating everyone bellow him, utterly callous, and spends every waking hour toadying it up to everyone above him while simultaneously looking for the place he can stab them in the back.

Also, bit off topic here, but what the hell is with this “Obama’s going to cave nonsense” I keep hearing? People do realize that he got a whole hell of a lot out of the tax cut deal and that the money cut during debt ceiling fiasco was mostly extraneous funds that weren’t being used, right? How exactly has he been a bad negotiator?

Thank you for posting this important essay, Chipsticks!

    Very much appreciated.

As I mentioned to P M Carpenter, what Cantor and his fellow jackals are pursuing is indeed treason with consequences being crimes against humanity on an unprecedented scale.

To all those enablers who urged people to sit out the 2010 Election and to all those who did not vote, you OWN this.

    Yes.We.Can. … DO.More.Together!

Yes they are sabotaging the economy for political gain. The sad part about it is people probably will be stupid enough to fall for it. I hope they can see what the Republicans are doing.
