Washington Post: Michelle Obama has taken part in a ceremony honoring children of military families at the Washington Nationals’ game against the Chicago Cubs.
The first lady was warmly welcomed by the crowd as she walked to the mound with nine children from military families of the various armed forces before Tuesday’s game.
She clapped as one of the children made the ceremonial first pitch to Nationals second baseman Danny Espinosa. Espinosa received a hug from Mrs. Obama, and then she posed for photos with the children near the pitcher’s mound.
IF THEY LET THE FIRST LADY TOSS IT WITH HER BICEPS…YOU WOULDN’T FIND THE BALL FOR 3 DAYS AND CERTAINLY NOT IN THE SAME NEIGHBORHOOD! EAT YOUR WHEATIES MR. PRESIDENT!…:)
Sue, you are so right. Remember when the First Lady christened a ship and the champagne got all over her instead of the boat? She really whacked the champagne bottle really hard, but she looked so beautiful while doing it. If anyone has those pics handy, please post them. Thanks!

Mrs.O looks amazing. I am so glad that she not only talks the talk, but she walks the walk. She and Dr. Jill Biden have taken their Joining Forces initiative to heart and have fully embraced our military and their families. They fight tooth and nail for them everyday and show us what compassionate, intelligent, sophisticated yet down to earth LEADERS they are. Bless them.

These are kids who’s parents are in the military. How nice of the First Lady to take them to meet the players and for them to throw out the first pitch of the game. We have a wonderful First Lady, and I think I will write her and thank her for all she does for everyone.To let her know how much we appreciate her, because I surely do. She is a wonderful, great, fantastic, fabulous First Lady. Simply the Best.
