and it is only THEIR words that damn them….nothing else was necessary. Oh my is right…..speechless.
These people do not do Christianity any good.
These people do not do humanity any good.
No, Bryan Fischer, I don’t hate all those things. I do however, hate hypocritical liars like you and Gov Perry who have no idea of Jesus teaching, and are an embarrassment to anyone of true kindness and faith.
Thou canst not speak of what thou dost not feel. ~ W Shakespeare
And you look like a tool when you speak out of your ass.
They are condemned with the words out of their mouths.
I couldn’t watch. As soon as I saw Fischer..well, that did it for me. Had to click the ugly off. I’ll just live vicariously through you:)
I saw John Hagee, and I do not listen to him, the other ones I don’t know and don’t care to know.
I didn’t listen to a word they had to say.
Do the majority of Christians believe this crap? Why is there never any push back from decent real Christians?
because they aren’t Christians.
Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww…..All I can say Is wowwwwwwwwwww, ummmmmmmmmm they are sounding like the Pharoasees
Just received an email from DCCC Chairman, forwarded the email to Chipsticks, here is an excerpt:
As we’ve seen in poll after poll and our upset victory in the New York-26 special election, voters will not stand for deep cuts to the benefits that seniors have earned while multi-millionaires get to keep their special tax breaks.
Your dollars will be put to work immediately to take the fight to Tea Party Republicans in their home districts.
Let’s prove we have what it takes — and show Speaker Boehner that his outrageous demands will cost House Republicans. Chip in right now >>
P.S. Republicans’ loyalty to Big Oil, Grover Norquist, and the Tea Party fringe has pushed Speaker Boehner to risk economic disaster rather than budge on ending taxpayer giveaways for Big Oil and tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires. It’s up to us to show Tea Party Republicans that their intransigence has consequences — please contribute today.
OMG, this is so scary. I don’t know what to say. Except that my God is all loving. I am a Christian liberal Democrat.
This Is not the Christian way
This is not Christianity. This is not Christ’s definition of Christianity. These creatures (they’re not human) are SICK. How can one say that the Holocaust happened because God was angry with the Jews. God is and never will be in their presence and people who attend those churches and sit there sunday after sunday condoning such violent, racist, homophobic, vile comments have warped principles and priorities. Once again to all the ignorant conservatives in the nation, just because one is liberal does NOT mean he/she hates God, hates religion and is the antichrist. I love God, I choose his love, I just choose not to belong to a party that constantly denigrates every ethnic minority, every LGBT person, every woman and every person who doesn’t have a bazillion zeros behind his/her name.
OT: Just saw Goldie Taylor from The Grio on Martin Bashir. She was great as usual. They discussed Bachmann and Santorum trying to backtrack from the pledge they signed stating that African-American children were better off in 1860 when slavery was the law of the land because they had the care of the both parents and they now live in destructive homes in 2011 when we have the first African-Amercan President. Goldie eloquently destroyed them. Then they talked about a facebook post written by Sarah Palin in which she wrote that President Obama has been the SUGAR DADDY of unproductive (aka middle and working class) people but now productive (uber wealthy) Americans are fighting back so that big government loving sugar daddy Obama no longer has funds to recklessley spend on the unproductive. My goodness. I have hesitated in calling Palin racist or racially prejudiced, but this just takes the cake. A sugar daddy is akin to a pimp. So, President Obama is pimping out wealthy people so he can keep his favorite prostitutes (middle and working class people) in style. The vileness within her is incomprehensible.
All I can say is OMG. I can’t believe these so-called Christians.
OT, FLOTUS will appear on the cover of Better Homes and Garden cover.
She really wrote that on Facebook? This lady is nuts. These people are all crazy.
utaustinliberal, these people like Palin are low down dirty rats, they are not Cristians. First of all the Jesus that I read about hung around with the poor, the sick, the homeless. He wasn’t lying back in some mansion with the rich folks. You know the people Palin and the Republicans like to protect, stand up for, fight for. To see were that piece of trash Sarah Palin use the word pimp, sugar daddy, Sarah Palin is a racists, so are the Tea Party. I have always known these people did not like the fact that we have a black President, and they have the nerve to call themselves Christians. Not the kind of Christians I want to know.
Couldn’t watch the clip, didn’t even click on it. Have been taking a hiatus from ALL news. Today’s the first time I’ve watched any tv remotely associated with the news and it was only for 20 minutes and it was PBO’s presser on C-span bc the website wasn’t working for me. I don’t think I can credit Palin with being clever enough to be truly vile. To me she’s just an idiot who spent too much of her adolescence inhaling aerosol from her hairspray. She’s nothing but a braying jackass.
I am beginning to think she will run. She has nothing in her brain, but she is an egomaniac. I think she cannot stand the fact that Crazy Michele is running. I think she is jealous of the attention that idiot is receiving. I have to admit it would be oodles of fun to see them go after each other.
UT, I do not belong to any organized religion. Nevertheless, as my nephew, who is a devoted Christian, says, people like Brian Fischer must never be allowed to hijack Christianity to support their evil right wing agendas. Many of them probably have never sat down to read the Bible. I suppose Brian Fischer believes that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., an ordained Minister with a doctorate in theology, was not a Christian because he was a liberal. These people are trying to mask their racism by pretending to be Christians.
In Rick Perry’s defense, I can’t bring myself to judge him based on something other people he knows says. Reminds me of what folks tried to do unfairly to President Obama with the Reverend Wright issue.
I think there is enough arsenal in his own baggage to ensure he never steps foot into the White House as POTUS.
one more thing– those preachers do not represent Christianity.
But nospin, Perry chose the American Family Association (‘gays caused the holocaust’) to host his prayer event thingie in August -
And I’ve read enough quotes from him to suggest that he shares the views of the people in that video, certainly on gays. In fairness to the President, he never shared Rev Wright’s controversial views.
From my perspective Rev Wright’s issues were not controversial when looked at in the right context. Not agreeing with all he said after folks were tearing him apart but I get that his later reactions were based on him being devastated that after decades of service to his country and his community, his words were twisted and used in such a way just for political gain. None of which he asked for. He didn’t solicit the attention, he wasn’t running for President — Barack Obama was — and Wright went from a patriotic soldier, minister of the people in his community and pastor, to someone who was considered some sort of a hatemonger who received death threats for months after. And after he had to deal with all that then Senator Barack Obama, turned away from him. But that is another issue.
My point is that between Perry’s policies, his record on taxes (http://www.politifact.com/texas/statements/2010/nov/01/rick-perry/gov-rick-perry-says-he-has-track-record-not-raisin/) and stating that it is okay for his state to secede from this nation is reason enough for him to be disqualified for running for office. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/04/16/texas-governor-says-secession-possible/
Other things like – his signing into law Voter ID restrictions, requirement for pre-abortion sonograms and more http://news.yahoo.com/factbox-legislative-scorecard-texas-governor-perry-043541304.html . . . there is plenty of things to hold him accountable for based on his own actions.
I love your site btw – very positive, informative and debates are almost always done respectfully. That is a reflection on you and the example you set. kudos to you.
Hi nospin, I agree with you about Rev Wright, after all the hysteria at the time once I made an effort to learn more about him I thought he was a hugely impressive man, with a record of service in his community to be proud of. Those sound-bites played on a loop were unfortunate, to say the least, but they were obviously born out of disillusioned and justified rage.
If Perry wins the GOP nomination I suspect his religious acquaintances won’t be analyzed or pilloried in quite the same way, even though, to me, their hate-filled rhetoric is infinitely worse than anything Rev Wright ever said, even in his most careless of moments.
Perry’s record in Texas is just repulsive – everything you mentioned, plus what he’s done to the education system, the staggering poverty rate, the lowest health insurance coverage in the country, the lowest wages, etc.
I just have a particular issue with religious fundamentalists, from whatever faith, and his brand of bigotry is, to me, terrifying. It’s what drives his politics and his contempt for the poor, women, races other than his own, etc. His choice of the American Family Association to host his prayer event says it all, and I’ve either read or heard him pretty much echo every ‘view’ expressed in that video by those hate-mongers. Scary.
Thanks for the kind words nospin, appreciate them.
I am with you Chips. Perry has put the state into deep debt. He has used all of his stimulus money to pay down the debt rather than help build jobs. He is a scary man. Look at the way he goes after Obama. He has since the beginning.
“And after he had to deal with all that then Senator Barack Obama, turned away from him. But that is another issue.”
The other issue was that, after PBO’s speech on race in Philly, where he did not denounce Wright as a pastor, mentor, and friend, the reverend then went to a public event and insinuated that then Senator Obama was saying certain things from expediencey, thus lending the impression of being dishonest. Then and only then did Senator Obama pull away from his reverend, who he felt betrayed him.
Wright did some of those things because of how he was treated. I can understand why he lost it for a time as things spiralled out of control because he is human. I disagree that PO didn’t walk away until after but I do understand that PO did what he had to do for what was considered the greater good.
Edp4BHO, Betrayal went both ways and we can debate who betrayed who first but all that is moot at this point as it is in the past. Thing is, it didn’t have to be that way if folks and the media respected the candidates enough to focus on the issues and to consider carefully how their actions can destroy people caught up in political crossfire.
You do what you want to do, but Perry CHOSE to be in that video, so I’m going to judge him based on that.
Everyone should make sure others vote 2012!
I think there was a minister there telling everybody that Oprah, is the anti Christ! Because she’s kind and help the poor, and that behavior is what the anti Christ is all about. These people are some sick puppies, let me tell you!
These people do not follow the teachings of Christ. They use the bible to do the exact opposite of what Jesus has taught us. They are not Christians.
This is Christian pornagraphy, not Christianity. Funny how the loonies of the major religions get so much ink. Everybody hears of the lunatic Islamists, but not the moderates so much. Same for Christians, Jews, Hindus…
THE ONLY THING THESE PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO DO IS ‘RELOAD AND INCITE!’ THEIR LANGUAGE IS AS FOUL AS THEY ARE!
This scares the Hell of ME…mercy mercy,,,,,when i hear this…all i can think of is…… the NIght Riders…..these new Klansmen do not wear sheets….they are dangerous…
Well, after reading what everyone has written and responded to on this thread, no way will I watch that video. There are some very sick people in this country. I would call them demons, and to think that it is still possible to have a president who hates a sizable portion of his/her population. That is really something to shudder about. It would be like a master and his/her slaves. We cannot ever go back to that….ever again.
I’ve often wondered how someone who toys with the idea of being a secessionist can even think about running for the office of PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES? Can someone enlighten me?
I’ve questioned that myself. The only thing that I can think of is the fact that if he can get into office, with a majority House and Senate, he might be able to create 50 separate countries answering only to the supreme ruler (since our Constitution does not allow for a king or queen). Now that he wants to take on the role of Billy Graham, I guess that he wants to amend the Constitution to repeal religious freedom and institute a state religion.
Look at Michelle Bachmann. She has stated on record that the Congress is filled with anti-American legislators. Why would she want to lead a country having anti-American legislators? Likewise, she wants to gut the Constitution to serve her ideology.
Yes, it’s scary! This country cannot afford to have a repeat of the 2010 mid-term elections. It took Germany 40 years to get out from under Hitler. It will take longer for America to get out from under a GOP/TP regime!
“Can someone enlighten me?”
Probably not because you are on point. Publicly discussing secession should be automatic grounds for disqualification.
