Run Timmi, run! Take a long run off a short plank…

  2. July 18, 2011 at 2:13 pm

    Spread this around.

The Republican “Cut, Cap and Balance” bill? Jay Carney referred to it as “Duck, Dodge and Dismantle” And by dismantle he means the safety net/entitlements.

I love that “Duck, Dodge and Dismantle”. Great analogy.

Tiny Tim is just the latest example of Repubs willing to twist themselves into pretzels and trash their previously held beliefs in order to appeal to the faction that used to be considered too extreme even for their own party. Pathetic self-pandering. It hasn’t worked for Romney; it isn’t working for Huntsman; it’s not going to work for Tiny Tim.

Our President stands out in even greater relief for his integrity and character in comparison to these carnival sideshow buffoons.

Exactly Brian. I absolutely concur. I hope they keep exposing TPaw for the charlatan he is. He left Minnesota in a hell hole and the shut down was the result of his atrocious governing. He was gung ho for cap and trade yet now rejects that concept. His economic platform is ridiculous and his whole candidacy is laughable.

Hey, Chipsticks! This is off-topic but I wanted to see if you could help me. Lately my blog posts are getting marked as spam when people try to share them on Facebook. I saw that you had the same problem. Did you ever get it resolved? If so, HOW???!

Thanks a bunch and keep up the stellar work!

I hear that the Tea party is going to have a Twitter townhall. Didn’t take them long to copycat the President, did it?

Yep, so true. BTW, hopefruit2, you mentioned a couple days ago your old ties at the Orange place. Wanted to tell you that I was a fan bigtime. Missed you when you left. Didn’t know you were banned. They couldn’t take what you were puttin out. Glad you are here. Thanks.

Thanks Doris, and yes I got suspended after I questioned an inconsistency in a diarist’s profile. I told them I didn’t care – certain things had to be said. Let them stew in their orange bile, and let them continue to enable GOP operatives while pretending otherwise….soon they will be going down like Murdoch & Co.

What the Tea Party don’t want to get out there and carry those nasty racists signs they love to carry before.

Picked this up from one of my friends at OFA.
Exclusive: Top Wisconsin Dems increasingly worried that GOP will protect Scott Walker from recall

    By Greg Sargent

Top Democrats in Wisconsin are increasingly worried that Republicans will be able to prevent Governor Scott Walker from recall by engineering a situation in which the election to recall and replace him takes place on the same day as the Wisconsin GOP 2012 presidential primary, when GOP turnout is at a maximum, I’m told.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/exclusive-top-wisconsin-dems-increasingly-worried-that-gop-will-protect-scott-walker-from-recall/2011/03/03/gIQAEkaCMI_blog.html

    • July 18, 2011 at 6:29 pm

I could be wrong, but I thought Walker had to be in office a full year before recall efforts could be taken up against him. The earliest I read they could be started would be a year from election day 2010, so early November. So the GOP will have to collect all their signatures during the frigid Wisconsin winter. The effort would need to collect 540,000 signatures in a 60 day window. So assuming I am right and November is the earliest they can start collecting, they’d have to collect 540K signatures between November 2nd and January 2nd (give or take). It seems like a lot of work to do when the date would be far from guaranteed.

The GAB seems pretty fair – assuming they’d be the ones deciding on the date, and I can’t imagine how having an election on the same day as the GOP Presidential Primary would be seen as remotely fair. And Feingold never ran a muckthrowing campaign because he said the “Wisconsin nice” personality of the State would reject it. The GOP seems full of trickery.

Ezra is sitting in for Martin Bashir. I think he’s the next MSNBC host. Might not be a bad deal. Move out Cenk and Ed and put in Rev. Al and Ezra. :D

This was fascinating, Jovie, not just for the dollar amounts but for the contrast in percentage of small-dollar donations over all. The President wins hands down in both categories. Who wants to argue about a loss of support now?

  10. July 18, 2011 at 3:18 pm

Rahm does a fundraiser for the president in Thursday. Rahm is very loyal to the president.

It’s A Myth That 47% Of Americans Pay No Taxes, In Truth 86% Pay Taxes

A favorite talking point used by conservatives to justify giving more tax breaks to the wealthy is that 50% of Americans pay no taxes. The truth is that 86% of Americans pay taxes.

I will make an exception tonight! I didn’t get over her lie and she didn’t even corrected it, she made it worst after.

But, I’m very curious to see how that interview will go so I’ll watch.

      Thanks for the heads up!

Yes, I will be breaking my rules but just for tonight. The thing is, I don’t recall Rachel being particularly rabid on this specific issue – maybe she was and I just don’t recall. But she has pissed me off about so many things recently that it’s all a blur. So I’m curious to see how that interview goes, and how the PL treats it if it doesn’t suit their narrative.

    • July 18, 2011 at 6:01 pm

Hey UT! Love EW and know she will make a wonderful case tonight for her choice so I’m sure she’ll do fine. Can’t bring myself to watch the Maddcow, not even for Elizabeth.

Congressman Chris Van Hollen joins MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts on July 18, 2011 to discuss the House GOP’s so called “Balanced Budget Amendment” proposal, which is designed to make it easier to reduce the deficit by slashing Medicare benefits rather than by closing tax loopholes for private jets.

Heads up: I ventured into Huffington Post and found this:

“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” will have a special guest.

This week, First Lady Michelle Obama will help build a home in Fayetteville, N.C. for homeless female veterans, according to the Associated Press.

The home will provide shelter for the women of the Steps N Stages Jubilee House, started by 15-year Navy veteran Barbara Marshall.

“This would allow us to get our home in a much better condition so that the women we do have housed here can be living in a house that truly represents how much we appreciate their service to our nation.”

Several families will be able to live in the new house, which will also feature a resource center.

Extreme Makeover is a show that airs on sundays on ABC.

–Murdoch Aides Long Tried to Blunt Scandal Over Hacking–

…..”Interviews with dozens of current and former News Corporation employees and others involved in the multiple hacking inquiries provide an inside view of how a small group of executives pursued strategies for years that had the effect of obscuring the extent of wrongdoing in the newsroom of Britain’s best-selling tabloid. And once the hacking scandal escalated, they scrambled in vain to quarantine the damage.

Evidence indicating that The News of the World paid police for information was not handed over to the authorities for four years. Its parent company paid hefty sums to those who threatened legal action, on condition of silence.”
