I couldn’t believe how Andrea Mitchell selectively edited that clip, showing a bit of the protest but mostly showing Romney yelling that Obama is destroying the economy. Then Mitchell says to Chuck Todd, “Romney gave as good he got, eh?” Then Todd said that his next question was from another angry person, pointing out the hypocrisy of Romney raising taxes when he was gov. when the state needed a financial boost. Romney—-a flip flopper on almost every issue. A hypocrite and fake to the core.

But hell, my grandparents and parents did not have paper towels, we use bleach and cloth napkings and dish cloths. I still use cloth napkins for my meals. I love the local coverage of the President’s visit. It is exciting to have the President of the United States in one’s own town….I can hear it in the announcers’ voices.
My daughter and I were in Holland and Grand Rapids two years ago this month. Coming from dry Oklahoma, cool, lake-filled Michigan was such a treat. If you have never been there, the state beach in Holland is one of the most beautiful anywhere! Light, white, soft sand, good facilities, the beach is as beautiful as Bermuda. My daughter, brought up in Oklahoma had no appreciation for lakes. I spent my girlhood summers on a lake in Western Michigan, so I love lakes. We parked at the beach in Holland, behind the dunes and walked up the path. When we came up around the dunes and she saw the lake…she was awed! “It’s an ocean” she said. She had no idea why these five were called the Great Lakes. She loved it. In Oklahoma our lakes are manmade and filled with snakes and other critters, not fit to go into. It was exciting to take her to my girlhood home and have her see the beauty. I always wish the President could take time and enjoy the beauty on his trips…..he is working so hard for all of us!

Yes, Lisa. I watched it and was able to make comments before the President came out, and it was wonderful to hear how the respect was given to the President. However, they allowed us to make comments while waiting and during the speech. Some nasties, but there were a lot of excellent points made. I along with several others called out a liar for his lies. That is my way from this point on. Call them out with the truth. Love it. Now, I need to go and get a lovely box for more of my information papers and Presidential papers to store. I do not like papers showing, plus that liars just dug into my space(well I could not help it) I am tired of the lying on the President. I try to get to Saugatuck/Holland every other year, if not every year. My friend and I get away from husbands and kids and spend a few days there. It’s lovely (until Snyder sells it all to developers).
