Chatfield, Minnesota, August 15
ABC: At a town hall meeting on the first stop of his Midwest bus tour, President Obama brushed off criticism of his health care overhaul, which many Republicans commonly deride as “Obamacare.”
Today the president was referring to The Afffordable Care Act, which he pointed out is “also known as Obamacare.”
“By the way, I have no problem with folks saying Obama cares. I do care,” Obama said. ”If the other side wants to be the folks that don’t care, that’s fine with me.”

Loved that I could watch BOTH of these appearances! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
HZ – replied to you just now back on the SSShhhhh thread…..
Tally, I go your reply. I wrote one also. Thanks so much, Tally. You are the best.HZ
It shows Mr. President and we thank you for caring.
Too bad the voting age isn’t 7 or 8.
I was thinking the same thing, jacquelineoboomer. Great thoughts.
They’d probably make way better choices!
For some of us 60-something people, the image of the President in front of the barn is reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting. Something to cherish, methinks. And he doesn’t look a bit out of place (no matter where he goes).
HiYa, Jackie O’B! We meet again on yet another wonderful blog! All’s well, and very BLUE in Seattle!
Your friend

Best line out of the MN townhall. Scratch that. BEST.LINE.EVER. Watch the #MoronicGOPTeabaggers begin scrambling for a new derogatory term. Maybe they’ll finally refer to it as oh I don’t know; HEALTHCARE REFORM!
It was wonderful seeing our president here in Decorah and I know u care about america and I will allways do my part to show my support and give my thanks and prayers to u.
You saw him up close? Wonderful!
I got home just in time to hear my President, and he was great. Love our President. We are so blessed to have such a man at the WH working for all of us. Love him.HZ

President Obama to Visit NICC
President Barack Obama, with White House officials and members of the president’s Cabinet, will visit Northeast Iowa Community College’s (NICC) Peosta campus to participate in the White House Rural Economic Forum on Tuesday, Aug. 16. President Obama’s mid-morning to mid-afternoon visit at NICC is part of a three-day bus tour through the Midwest from Aug. 15-17.
The White House Rural Economic Forum brings together small business owners, private sector leaders, rural organizations and government officials to discuss ideas and initiatives to promote economic growth, accelerate hiring, and spur innovation in rural communities and small towns across the nation.

That’s an adorable picture with the kids. Look how they flock to him. They know. Bless their innocent hearts. Goodnight Obama peeps
That really was a good response.
Obama Cares.
The president was ambushed by a tea bagger at another town hall event. Apparently the bagger was incensed because he claims Biden called teabaggers “terrorists”. Obama agreed the rhetoric should be toned down and mentioned how he’s been called socialist and told he was not born here.
The liberal media failed to mention things like that when they were clamoring for the smelling salts and the fainting couches over Biden supposedly saying what he did in the meeting. They gave top billing to Trump , allowing him to run from morning show to evening news questioning the president’s birthplace. Yet if there is even a hint of the Obama administration calling someone out – oh the horror!
“Obama cares!” Yes he does! Take this and own it, mi hijo! We know you care and that’s why we always have your back. I loved his speeches today but those particular words were stellar. When he said that I just wanted to jump through my TV screen and hug him!
One thing that really bugs me is when I hear crowds clapping when a GOP talks about repealing Obamacare. What part of it don’t they like? The part where kids can stay on their parents’ insurance till they are 26? The part where an insurance company can no longer deny you for preconditions? The part where they cannot cap you when you get cancer or another debilitating disease? The part where there will no longer be the donut hole in the prescription drug plan? The part where it will save the government $1.2T dollars over ten years? I just think many of those clappers have fallen hook line and sinker for the GOP pull the plug on Grandma routine. Or they just really think that private insurance companies will treat them better than the government. You’d think that lie would be evident after all of the tricks they play to make a profit on the customers back. We need to point out that Texas has the worst record for people being insured over the other states. Maybe PBO could ask a heckler what part they do not like of ACA, and go through the advantages one by one or use it in a debate.
Our President was great, looking forward till today.
Up until I read this, I would get annoyed beyond words when I saw or heard the term “Obamacare”. I will never see the words “Obamacare” in the same light again – ever. From now on, I will always be reminded of what a gifted, intelligent President we are so lucky to have and will smile.
Every post or blog or opinion site that I have visited since this speech I have called the health care reform law as …..wait for it……
“OBAMA ‘YES HE DOES’ CARE”!!!
It has been driving the right wing tea-baggers crazy!
