I watched this earlier today, and I remember thinking what a blessing Rev Al is for us Obamabots/Obamacrats. He is a take no prisoners kinda guy. Everytime Josh Trevino appears on Rev Al’s show, Rev just demolishes him. It’s kind of like an appetizer for Rev. before the main course; which is any other unintelligent republican who happens to wander onto a show filled with what he/she hates: FACTS. I so hope Rev Al stays on MSNBC with his own show; because he’ll definitely make 2012 so much more bearable and even throw some fun in there for us.
We all need to give Rev. Al the ratings he needs, and maybe send his bosses a bunch of emails to give him his own show. He’s now the only one I can bear to watch on MSNBC (when I remember! I’m still getting used to what time he’s on!).
I had sworn to never to watch MSM cable news any more. I’ve been reading all the raves about Rev. Al Sherpton on this site and other pragmatic sites. Watching this clip impressed me so much. From now on I will be watching his show everyday. I will also write MSNBC to make sure that they keep him on. He totally demolished the the right wing guy by focusing on facts.
Yes, Rev Al, brings a lot to the table, facts, action, counter action, humor, and a little scripture sometime also
I agree that Rev Al brings a lot to the table, facts, humor, and a little Scripture sometimes too
I was wondering who the heck was this guy when I saw him on Rev. Al. I thought it was Grover Norquist’s brother or something, looks like him! and he has a creepy laugh.
So I checked who he was.
Joshua S. Treviño, a former speechwriter for the Bush administration and a co-founder of RedState.com,
No wonder I was annoyed.
And yes ut! What a blessing to have Rev. Al, he’s great.
Did you notice how this Joshua clown laughed when he was getting ready to tell a big lie? That was quite an exchange betweem he and Rev. Al. I agree with you Jacqueline. We have to keep him on the air.
He reminds me of the Howdy Dowdy cookie jar we had when I was a kid. I’ld like to wipe that asses smirk off his face….do you think he giggles because he’s nervous, or is it a tell, alerting us to the next lie that is soon to pass his lips.
This guy annoys me like Andrew Breitbart does….and that’s BIG TIME!
Plus, Rev. Al understands real people and real struggles. AND he likes to party. (I should say, he likes to dance. To some people, “party” means something ENTIRELY different…) This video shows he’s a good sport!
As I look at the following poll numbers coming out of the southern states, I could see a possibility of there being no clear winner at the end of the primary battle. This could lead to a open convention, and if that happens we will see an all out war for the future of the republican party.

Undecided comes a close second at 20 percent.
– Rick Perry, 24 percent;
– Herman Cain, 15 percent;
– Newt Gingrich, 9 percent;
– Michele Bachmann, 8 percent;
– Mitt Romney, 6 percent;
– Ron Paul, 5 percent;
– Jon Huntsman, 1 percent;
– And other candidates, 4 percent;
Louisiana latest poll
Perry takes 30 percent
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) 16 percent
Romney 15 percent,
Alabama Straw poll
Here are the votes:
Perry, as a write-in candidate: 101
Herman Cain: 47
Mitt Romney: 36
Michele Bachmann: 24
Newt Gingrich: 11
Ron Paul: 3
I dunno bj. Looks like Perry is polling pretty good. And surprisingly Herman Cain is as well.
Perry is polling pretty good for NOW only. In a couple weeks it will be the next new Republican toy. Perry will be quickly put away. The truth is that there is a serious “enthusiasm problem” among Republican voters because the field of candidates are hollow and uninspiring. But you won’t hear that from the MSM. They’re too busy trying to tear down our current President.
The new kid always polls well (unless you’re Jon Huntsman, who should just become a moderate Democrat, for God’s sake).
That being said, Perry scares me. Unless he and Bachmann split their votes and Romney comes out triumphant, Perry is the kind of lazy thinker that the MSM pushes and low information voters love. Let’s be clear: ALL Republicans are low information voters, and that accounts for a good 40% of the electorate. The alleged ‘independent” is now ‘independent at all, but either disgruntled partisans who are mad at their party or low information voters who believe the last thing they were told and have the attention span of a gnat.
That makes Perry scary to me.
This may not be a very popular thing to say to my fellow pragmatic progressives (which is the only kind of progressive I’ve ever been) but we do need to win back some of these disappointed Democrats who aren’t firebaggers but more progressive. We need every vote we can get, and Democrats are notorious for staying home unless they are sufficiently entertained by a candidate. They are historically incapable of looking at the big picture and the long term. Unless Repubs nominate Bachmann (and they aren’t going to) this election is going to require constant vigilance on our par.
Republicans ALWAYS know that no matter how they feel about each other, their enemy is us and they vote accordingly. They took a dim-witted, unpopular President and reelected him in 2004, because they know how to march their ball down the field. It’s unbelievable to me that Democrats have yet to figure that out.
My husband made the greatest observation today: To the credit of MSNBC they’ve been showing the clip of Obama and the girls at the book store. Right after that, they give Jesse Jackson a chance to blame Obama for all the ills of black unemployment. My husband observed — what better image is there for young black people than a black President of the United States, walking out of a bookstore with his children? Couldn’t Jesse Jackson have celebrated that gorgeous image and reinforced its inspiration?
No — he had to attack, as Obama has been attacked so viciously this last week from people who should understand that we need to celebrate progress and always work for more. But celebrate it first, encourage it, nurture it, support it. Accept that — gee– the obstruction leveled against this President might have something to do with why Obama has only fulfilled 78% of his campaign promises, and been thwarted at the rest.
Unconscionable. And that’s to you, Maxine Waters.
There were some in a complete panic about Huntsman getting into the race. That 1% is not going to beat PBO. Republicans seen to have entertainment TV mixed up with politics.
I will never understand the South.
I also watched and Al blew that guy away. That guy was creepy. I would not want him on my side.
Of course, many of the jobs created in Texas were public sector jobs funded by stimulus money. They would not have had an over-all increase had it not been for those jobs. It would also be nice to have all those stats (teen pregnancy rate etc.) for the years before 2008. I’m sure they are no better.
Never reported in MSM. NEVER. This is what we’re up against.
Hi TOD family. I’ve been lurking for a while. Used to go to the other place during the 2008-2009 campaign, bit eversince they went on a bash Obama Campaign, I totally lost it for them. Didnt like how they all turned on BWD over there so I followed her to TOAITR, where I found out about TOD. I really feel connected to you guys and I love the commraderie here plus the authentic news here is pricelesss..
Welcome JCAfrica- nice to see you here- hopefully we’ll hear from you often
Thanks Sherijr, nothing can keep me away;-)
I can understand why Perry leads in the southern states which is really sad. They can associate with the drawl and cowboy that got us in this mess in the first place. I wonder how Perry polls with Independents.
I honestly think Perry will go the way of Donald Trump. It seems the bigger they start, the sooner they implode. When the press pushes them and gives them all sorts of unearned plaudits, they don’t last. Perry may surprise me, so many people talk about what a great campaigner he is, but he has never campaigned outside of Texas, and in spite of what Texans think…the whole country is not Texas. Read my lips: “No new Texans”
I look forward to watching Rev. Al, he comes prepared with his graphic when they try to over talk him. He realizes that most of us are visual learners and no matter how rude and loud the repug shout we see the facts. I just love Rev. Al loyalty to POTUS and all Americans.
Chip, take a look at this article: http://www.truth-out.org/governor-supercuts-president/1313601078. Especially, look for a long comment from commentator “GreatStoneFace”. Here’s some of what he says:
Want to meet the REAL Rick Perry?
Please allow me.
Rick Perry was named as one of the worst governors in the nation for his history of ethical problems by the group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
Along with his contention that Social Security, Medicare and most other entitlements are Unconstitutional, he thinks as well that the earth is 6,000 years old.. that women were created out of Adams rib… that the Statue of Liberty is part of an evil, secular, French Freemason agenda…. oh, and he feels that Constitution is in line with the notion that this is a “Christian Nation”.
His dogmatic devotion to these “Christian” ideals didn’t seem to have been sullied when, after inheriting a ten BILLION dollar deficit from George W Bush (who was quoted as saying as he left office, “I’m glad I’m not the one to have to clean this mess up”) immediately threw 161,000 children off of the “S-Chip” Program.. an insurance initiatlve that covered disadvantaged and handicapped kids… causing most of them to suffer even more, leaving many thousands of them hungry, hopeless and hundreds more of them to just lay down and die.
I’m sure the ‘merciful Jesus’ he prays to would be thrilled that he (and his cadre of ‘Banana Republicans’) hijacked millions of dollars from Texas’ Electric Bill Assistance Fund.. money set aside to help pay summer electric bills for low-income residents… during the worst drought and heat wave in memory.
And.. as Jesus healed the sick, Perry feels it is his righteous duty to ‘lay hands’ on every 6th Grade girl in Texas to begin undergoing a Gardasil vaccination series for the sexually-transmitted HPV virus… in fact, he issued an Executive Order in 2007 mandating just that… except it turned out to be a brother-in-law deal with his Merck lobbyist friends and former Chiefs of Staff.
He also enacted a mandatory-sonogram-for-abortions law in Texas…. even for victims of rape and incest. This procedure must be accomplished via a procedure called a “Transvaginal Probe”, in which a large “device” is wrapped in a condom and inserted into the vagina… basically a second rape, and it costs the patient between $100 – $400 to boot.
I’m sure the Lord is reserving a special place in Heaven for his assistance.
He seems to think it’s perfectly fine that friends and donors whom he appointed to the Texas Teacher Retirement System Board (TRS) steered hundreds of millions of dollars set aside for educators — and millions in fees — right back to the firms run by his campaign donors.
It seems that ‘lying’ is in sync with his embrace of the Ten Commandments as well.
I thought I would just counter what that Trevino guy said about the abstinence programme in Uganda. I have roots in Uganda; ABC stands for A-Abstinence (for young married people)
B-Be faithful (to your partner)
C-use Condoms(if all following else fails)
ABC was coined after President Museveni came into power in 1986, by the First Lady Janet Museveni following the AIDS scurge in the 80′s that left many children orphaned. We didnt have enough info about the disease at the time, so most of the HIV cases were maligned by relatives. It wasn’t until one popular musician the late Philly Lutaaya came out in the open and said he was HIV -positive that AIDS got the much needed publicity. The Ugandan gov’t went on the assault, set up tools to increase awareness and to help the orphans. The First Lady founded UWESO (Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans). There were skits on tv and radio, drama groups visited schools to encourage responsible living, reading materials everywhere. Moreveover comdoms were provided at dispensaries of institutions for free, many people were trained as care-givers for HIV-AIDS cases. And now ARV treatment is largely available, to prevent full-blown AIDS. Gradually the rate of infection dropped to the point where Uganda became a model country. Sorry for making you read thus far; the point I’m trying to make is that contrary to what that Joshua guy is saying, ABC method was introduced to fight against HIV-AIDS not teenage pregnancy!!!
Sorry meaant C-use Condoms(if the ABOVE fail)
Hi, JCAfrica, you are right all the way. By the way, I to have roots in Uganda, my native country. Nice meeting you.
Hi Asher! Nice meeting you here:0
Everybody is blasting Gov. Perry. This is a mistake. We should support Mr. Perry to get the nomination. Love to see him opposite PBO–he is Bush on steriods. He even kinda laughs like him. I wouldn’t want to see a combination of Christie and Huntsman. They can sound reasonable to the average guy.
