Hey Chica. There isn’t any volume on this video, right? It was crazy!!! We felt it in Philadelphia. City Hall and a lot of high rise buildings downtown evacuated. All is well…
Yes, and that is what is so sad about the vile and ugly people who want to trash this President. The WH and the person in that Oval Office should have the respect of our true meaning of The President of the United States. I know we can and should disagree with policies of any Administration, but let them be reminded that the office of the Presidency in American deserves respect no matter who is sitting in that Oval Office. Respect is the key. These awful people just do not get that now that President Obama is the 44th President of the United States.HZ
The SS guys on the roof are probably checking for structural damage. I’ve been in small earthquakes in CA, but this one here was very long, I thought it would never end. Not sure if buildings here are up to par of those in CA and whether they made to withstand the magnitude.
Wow. So far so good. The only structural damage being reported around D.C. is the National Cathedral. Hope everyone affected is safe and no huge structural damage to a lot of buildings.
What is odd to me is that this quake(s) was at almost exactly the same depth as the ones yesterday near the Colorado/New Mexico border 5-6 km. My favorite earthquake site: http://quakes.globalincidentmap.com/ Glad everyone is alright.
As a proclaimed Christian maybe Hewitt should concern himself with seeking the truth. Knoller is a bonehead…..perfect example of how the MSM feeds the piranha’s.
Love the way all those SS snipers jump to alert when the quake hit and start circling the parameter and the road below. Could just imagine what was going thru their minds.
I was trying to watch the people on the ground, unfortunately the Washington banner covered them during the shaking.
What do people in cars experience….they didn’t seem to respond from the second part of the video. Today I’m thinking it’s really great to live in the midwest, although I’m not sure any part of the country is immune .
While California gets the most quakes, and the most attention as a result, there is a major fault line than runs from Canada to Boston called the Boston/Ottawa trend. There were lots of objections during the construction of nuclear power plants along those lines that were quieted down or just not aired by the ‘forces that control the medial’. I often wonder if they were built to withstand a quake under their feet. Hopefully we will never know. The media has not been doing it’s job for a long time now.
Lets hope we never know, especially in light of what is unfolding in the aftermath of the tsunami, and the nuclear power plant that was destroyed in Japan.
I have to say there is the most hilariously funny collection of tweets right now re. the “obamaquake”. My fave was: “Jane Hamsher was seen looting at Filene’s Basement in D.C.! This is getting ugly! Where’s the National Guard???
I thought about the same thing Tien Le. I am also hoping this gives and even stronger urgency to the infrastructure bank. We need to rethink building codes on the east coast. On msnbc one of the experts reported that because the earth is older, and crustier on the east that often quakes reverberate farther. He was unsurprised at the area that experienced it. So lots of ways we could shore up the infrastructure- bridges, tunnels, aquiducts and our public schools, nuclear plants.
I’m happy to hear everyone has posted they’re OK. Iived in CA for 14 years, and was there the year the world series was cancelled. We had a week of aweful aftershocks. I’m sorry I was a wuss after that and got out of dodge. I spent my first 22 yrs. in Florida-never experienced a hurrican, but lots of warnings.
Anyway make sure you head for a doorway. PS the phone book is a good place to check for what to do for all kinds of natural disasters.
Good thoughts coming your way, Collegekay. Get some rest, if you can and keep good thoughts close to your heart and lean heavily upon them. Hugs coming your way.
BREAKING QUAKE NEWS: The S&P has Downgraded the Virginia earthquake. The Republican House will not allow an upgrade to it’s actual 5.8 until the President agrees to cuts to Social Security/Medicare and a further round of tax cuts for the super rich. The Tea Party finds it suspicious that the President is Not in Washington at the time of a rare Earthquake. FAUX NEWS is demanding his impeachment.
Well, as someone who has lived in Seattle for nearly 23 years, I know just what all those folks out there were experiencing. 5.9 is kinda little for us, but it is a relative thing. We are all poised, waiting to see if that Big One will flatten us. The data is varied, but all the activity in the South Pacific, along the Ring of Fire, well, we live each day for its own virtue, as we all should.

Now why were those men on the roof of the WH?
Snipers, always up there.
THAT’S RIGHT…THEY ARE ALWAYS UP THERE PROTECTING OUR PBO!
overseasgranny if I ever ride past that WH and DON”T see them on that roof we will all have something to worry about.

Granny, Secret Service…
Whole lot of shaking going on there.
Yes…a whole lot of shaking. Felt it in New Jersey…scary stuff.

Wow Tien. What an interesting site. There’s all kinds of things you can track!
The only thing that really matter is that no deaths was reported, so it’s good.
I saw that Mark Knoller is back on twitter, I checked his tweeter feed.
Well we can say that the RW are very happy with his pathetic article;
hughhewitt Hugh Hewitt
The $4 Trillion Dollar President: tinyurl.com/3nz43fy Bravo Mark Knoller.
Hugh Hewitt: an outspoken Republican, evangelical Christian,
As a proclaimed Christian maybe Hewitt should concern himself with seeking the truth. Knoller is a bonehead…..perfect example of how the MSM feeds the piranha’s.
I really need to say Amen to your comment Sue. Thank you.HZ
Did Mark Knoller blame the President for the quake?

My mother who is in her 80′s has even tired of this “blame Obama meme”, she repsonded, “I wonder how will they blame Obama for this”…hehehe.
Smartt Mama.

just saying…

I think the ridicule is appropriate and serves a higher purpose. Clever tweeter.
I think the camera was shaking more than both buildings
Ahhhh, the Elephant is quaking in its boots !
My favorite tweet so far reminds us that 5 months ago, Eric Cantor wanted to cut funding to the USGS.
Interesting – Majority Leader Eric Cantor represents the 7th District of Virginia.

INFRASTRUCTURE BANK!
It must have been soooooooo scary being on the rooftop of the WH!!!
I’m just getting back in my room after being evacuated for four hours. It was pretty scary. I was walking up some stairs and had to hold on tight.
Thank goodness you’re ok now collegekay. Sending good and calming thoughts your way.
Oh flip CK, that sounds terrifying – hope you’re okay.
Thanks guys. Yes I’m fine. Just exhausted.
Good thoughts coming your way, Collegekay. Get some rest, if you can and keep good thoughts close to your heart and lean heavily upon them. Hugs coming your way.
Glad you’re alright. Hopefully life will return to normal for everyone quickly

LOL!!
It so disarmingly accurate, but still I laugh….
BwaHaHaHa….:)
