Ras, PPP and Gallup have him fading fast behind Perry as well. PPP has Perry 13 over Romney, Gallup has Perry up 12 over Romney (both when polling the whole GOP field). In potential Presidential showdowns, Rasmussen finds Perry the strongest, and Bachmann even stronger than Romney –
1. Obama beats Perry: 43/40
2. Obama vs. Bachmann: 43/39
3. Obama vs. Romney: 46/38
(Ras must have his marching orders to take down Romney. Mitt’s claim has always been electability advantage – Ras will be used to dispel that in GOP circles).
The World’s Most Powerful Couples
8/24/2011 @ 12:08PM |
As president and first lady of the largest economy in the world and the third-largest country by population, Barack and Michelle Obama top the list of the world’s most powerful couples. Michelle–named the globe’s eighth most powerful woman by Forbes this year—doesn’t just sit in the White House. She leads the Let’s Move campaign to tackle childhood obesity and has made official trips to Africa, India, Latin American and the U.K. Not to mention, her fashion choices alone have contributed $2.7 billion to the retail sector, according to the Harvard Business Review.
About Romney’s showing in the polls — the man has his last name going for him for establishment Republicans. His father was George Romney, a moderate Republican able to work with democrats, the governor of Michigan, and CEO of American Motors. People might well look at him and see his father who was a steady, more or less consistent moderate, and a pull-himself-up-by-his-bootstraps child of the early 1900s.
And Mitt is the spoiled offspring of his father’s hard work. I’m sure, if it was possible, George Romney could be rolling around in his grave with embarrassment at Mitt’s consistent inconsistency, dragging the Romney name through the political mud.
As to the cheesy looking (pardon me) shore front “mansion” shown, I can understand why the “inadequate for his needs” would fit because he has a raft of married kids, as usual with a Mormon patriarch, and at last count a total of 14 grandchildren, Gadzooks.
His father probably would be embarrassed especially him wanting to see the US auto industry fail. I do have to question how any one, especially in Michigan can confuse this nit wit with his father or even consider voting for him.
And sickening, Linda. I mean sickening. It made me wonder what the hotel rooms in Las Vegas are like, the morning after, and how the cleanup crews can take it day after day.
This is just a follow-up to the “Tally PDF” I sent out earlier this morning. I did send it to 30,000 people through my groups at OFA….I am getting tons of feed back!! Everyone of the emails are positive. Some sent it on to their progressive friends. They are very willing to work for and give him a second term. You just have to let them know what our President has done, and what will happen if we lose the WH, Senate, House, and most importantly THE SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES.
I see a retweet from BWD—-Romney camera crew at CBC Miami job fair interviewing people about being jobless under Obama. Hope those people realize they were being used for an anti-Obama attack ad.
Saving grace: What the Teapublicans don’t realize is that AAs are not a monolith and neither is any other ethnic group. People have their own opiniions and observations about PBO and many are not buying what’s being sold.
I just received an email from firedoglake (after unsubscribing from their list) about Dan Choi being arrested and still in jail. They were trying to make it sound all sinister. I sent this reply.
“I think Dan Choi is person who is playing out his PTSD on the public stage. Civil disobedience involves willingness to bring attention to the cause, not to the person being arrested. ML King and the civil rights demonstrators of the 60′s weren’t surprised when they were arrested, and they didn’t whine about it either. That was part of the point. There was discussion of the fact that some people were going to violate the terms of the permit they had been issued, and knew this would result in arrest. People who couldn’t afford to be arrested didn’t participate in that part of it. Dan Choi needs to seek help for his problems. Being in the media glare is not helping him to resolve them, he’s only dragging us into them and he is doing no good to the causes he seems to be trying to serve.

How is it that we can ALWAYS find a negative in a feel good story? Sometimes it’s good and healthy to accentuate the positive and let the negative minutia slide.
This boggles the mind.
The GOP actually WANTS to have multi-billionaire front runners?
Really?
While we are witnessing on LIVE INTERNATIONAL STREAMING TV just how well that sort of thing is working out for Gaddafi.
Mittens’ new campaign slogan: ROMNNEY 2012– More dollars than sense.
Brought to you by Rich Romney and his multi-billionaire overlords. Welcome to the United States of Incorporated America.
Not by my vote!

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!1 That’s our first family!
Bravo and Brava ….and we love them for all they do and are.
There are many great women on the list of most powerful women but the half term governor is ranked #34, however, Forbes is a right wing rag.
Bill, I can’t wait for the day she put out with the trash. I become very uncharitable when considering all things Palin.
So true, Sue, she is a black mark on society.
Palin’s a black mark on professional womanhood, Bill.
I saw that….Hillary is #2…but some on that list are really pathetic.
Tina Brown ? Good Grief

I don’t know what the people there were telling the Romney peeps, but the CBC has given the repugs great material for the anti-Obama ads.
