Can anyone find the video to Joe Biden’s speech to AFL-CIO in Ohio? I saw a snippet of it and boy joe was on FIRE!! I want to see the whole thing. If yall find please post it or send me in the direction to see it.
Ed played part of it tonight. He was thrilled. The part I noticed, and he emphasized was when the VP said “The barbarians are at the gates.” He’s right. These people are barbarians, out to DESTROY everything that’s been built up in the last 80 years. Barbarians are destroyers, therefore these right wing destroyers are barbarians!! Scary analogies, easy to make.
I took offense to John Nichols saying that he wish that PBO would speak with Biden’s passion. PBO and VP Biden are two different people with different personalities.
Probably not, GoB, but ‘passion’, like ‘leadership’ wears only one suit of clothing in their very restricted closet! Dress them differently and they can’t recognize them. Sad that they are so proud to regularly broadcasting their ignorance.
Everybody should prepare for tomorrows headlines. There’s a new abc polls showing perry up by 1 and Romney up by 4. Watch these news clowns play this up like crazy.
I only pay attention to truth and reality. This BS ain’t it, but because I know it will disturb some people greatly, for that I am sorry. Letting it get to you is demoralizing. But everybody has the right to their reactions. For me, and I can only speak for myself, I resent being played. I am not that stupid. And as someone posted last week, the mSM is lost. better to try to approach voters one at a time with respect and facts, and try to get inside their heads, than rage against the dying of the MSM. All my 2 cents, clearly.
LOL..Yeah and there were polls that had Hillary beating PBO.
There is not that many people paying close attention to the elections as of yet…wait until folks realize that each of the republican candidates plan to alter their medicare and social security.
As has been mentioned – the President isn’t campaigning. He’s taking attacks from all sides and holding fire. I don’t mind the poll really because it takes away Romney’s main talking point in that claiming he’s the only one who could beat President Obama. Now with Perry polling ahead – he needs to find another line of reasoning as to why he could be the GOP choice.
This will also embolden Perry and Romney to fight each other hard because they could see “Hey, if I win this primary, I could really win the general as well”, so nobody is playing for second place or for 2016. We need them spending their corporate millions attacking each other for the next 6-8 months.
Btw: the abc poll was out yesterday morning and he is polling at 43%!
African Americans only have him at 59% approval. You know they will not vote for perry!
Also, no head to head matchups!
Also, as low as the president is on the economy, he beats the GOP by three in that regard!
again I am not sweating these polls, I m just want to prepare everybody for whats to come on tv, when the MSM will create another apocalypic scenario over a dead head match up. I notice today that they didn t mention that obama beats perry by 5, by I bet they will mention this poll where perry beats obama by 1.
COS – Think you are talking about “leaks” of Thursday’s speech? You are right.
I’m pretty sure, if I’m remembering correctly, that at no time has anyone in the White House under this administration ever “leaked” anything the President planned to do. If we get a peek from the REAL source, like PBO gave us from Detroit (or if Jay Carney says it), then I’ll believe it.
If you all can, try to watch the History Channel tonight,”Targeting Bin Laden.” I hope Tweety and the rest of the bunch will see it. You can’t be weak and make a call like this order was given. Great CIC. We need this President. Let’s not tolerate the bashing, the “My sources tell me,” and “his base has gone”. Liars, all of them. We are going to support and fight all the way with and for President Obama. HZ
HZ, I have been working here on the ground in Ohio going door-to-door canvasing for various issues and believe me people are pissed off, but not at PBO, they’re pissed off at the media and the republicans.
9-11-11, we will remember that this weak, spineless President got the bastard that order terrorists to come on to our land and kill thousands of Americans. Remember also it wasn’t the big bad cowboy from Texas who got the job done!!!!!!! I want the sorry media to remember that too.
Hey there Chipsticks. CoyoteMarti here. I may have been that Anonymous comment. The one that did not care for Guard the Change at all. I wasn’t automatically recognized in the comments block as usual in the past, and when trying to log on via wordpress my message says ‘error!cookies blocked or not supported’, which is odd. In cleaning out my bookmarks a week ago I inadvertently removed yours, so maybe I screwed something up. I will go experiment on my end. Meanwhile, if that was my post, don’t worry if it doesn’t get out there. Just thanks for listening.
I get it – but I’d like something more forward thinking. I like that it indicated that they’re going to run on their record of accomplishments, and that they are important to guard as Romney today says among his first five acts as President would be signing statements to end the ACA and stop the Financial Regs (not that he could without congress, but you get where his mind is). So it is important for Pres Obama to be re-elected to “guard what we have accomplished” but it seems like we’re playing defense.
I mentioned this in the other thread and it was pointed out that I am reading it wrong and the “change” is the movement going forward as well. I can see how some might see it that way – but my first reaction was it was I liked it, but the more I thought about it the less I liked it.
I do think it is a good mantra right now while the GOP in their primary because they’re out attacking the President’s record on what he has done – so it makes sense to want to protect that. Once the general comes around though I’d like something a little more forward thinking – hopeful and visionary. We need to guard the change, but also keep moving forward. The best defense is a good offense. We need the GOP to react to us, not defend what has been done.
You make a very good point StR. I’ve actually seen some complaints around, about the Administration in (or not in) defense mode too often as opposed to operating on offense more often and letting the other side do defense. The idea of using ‘guard the change’ during the GOP primary, and extending or changing it to something ‘more forward thinking’ later makes sense to me. Of course, whatever slogan gets hyped, the one that really matters in my eyes is ’4 more for 44′!
I like “Guard the Change”. I was on a conference call with David Axelrod tonight. Two import things he said. Don’t listen to pundits, just keep telling folks the President’s accomplishments. And President Obama is going to “Restore America” to what it was before. He appreciates everything we’re doing. When the disappointed left start complaining about him, I tell them “we are the change we seek” and ask them what have you done to help him.
I wish they would push the “We Do Big Things” idea. Democrats will be the party that wants to take America to new heights and Repubs just want to take us back to the stone age.
IMHO, Guard The Change is great for the troops, but not so good for everyone else — too abstract. How about Guard Our Jobs or Putting America Back To Work. That is what people care about and this ain’t no time to be coy.
i love it !
Me too!
I love it. We will be part of the army to guard the change.
“We will be part of the army to guard the change”! That is it COS.
Great slogan! Right up there with ” 4 more years for 44.” Although I keep saying 4 more 4 44 – brain fog. Either way, the point is clear.
Can anyone find the video to Joe Biden’s speech to AFL-CIO in Ohio? I saw a snippet of it and boy joe was on FIRE!! I want to see the whole thing. If yall find please post it or send me in the direction to see it.
Here you go, Kinona, although the sound is miserably low:

**** Chipsticks: Happy to post your comments, but please sign in, anonymous posts are no longer accepted here. Thanks. ****
Hey Chips, that may have been me. I sent a detailed message about having error! trouble separately. If this works, I get it fixed.
How about country before party?
Anywho? Michelle will be in NYC Friday for the US Open! She will be meeting with tennis pros, to help her with let’s move campaign!
Pretty cool, aye?
Yep. Yep.
Gee which I could be there to see FLOTUS?
Thanks for the FLOTUS heads-up! About Country Before Party, how sad is it that McCain’s slogan was Country First. Man, even their slogans lie. Sigh.
Ed played part of it tonight. He was thrilled. The part I noticed, and he emphasized was when the VP said “The barbarians are at the gates.” He’s right. I turned from Ed when he started saying what his dumb ass thought the president should say.
Me too, I watch Hoffa then turned the channel. I knew what was coming next. Didn’t need to hear it.
these people only care about theatrics, they don’t give a damn about substance. they are stupid.
If anyone can talk w/ passion its PBO. Are these people forgetting his 2008 campaign?
Probably not, GoB, but ‘passion’, like ‘leadership’ wears only one suit of clothing in their very restricted closet! Dress them differently and they can’t recognize them. Sad that they are so proud to regularly broadcasting their ignorance.

PBO is not campaigning yet.

Nobody is paying any attention! It is all for not, 15 months out! Lol!
LOL..Yeah and there were polls that had Hillary beating PBO.
There is not that many people paying close attention to the elections as of yet…wait until folks realize that each of the republican candidates plan to alter their medicare and social security.
I’m not concern myself I’m just giving the heads up.

This is all about ginning up interest. No one is interested in these Republican candidates and they know it.
If the President said it, I’m for it!
Also, I am always weary of the phrase “sources close to”. This sentence was important to me. I will wait for the speech.
“The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because the plan was still being finalized and some proposals could still be subject to change.”
COS – Think you are talking about “leaks” of Thursday’s speech? You are right.

I love it. Guard The Change; Country Before Party. Keep it coming President Obama.
I guess we can’t say, “Kicking Flat Earth Ass since 2008″
Ha! I was trying to come up with something like that, but you far beat out what I was thinking so far!
Just came to me:) I can think of millions more just like it…they are all so predictable.
ding, ding, ding! we have a winner.

We also will remember those who was kill and the families of those kill.
Our President is wicked smark, a natural leader, and does not do things off the cuff. He is a great strategist. I am so glad he’s our President.

What StR said. Agree. Even POTUS is always saying we still have so much to do.
I THINK THE SLOGAN IS ON POINT…
THE REVOLUTION HAS TO BE ALWAYS BE GUARDED….
UNION VICTORIES ALWAYS HAVE TO BE DEFENDED…
ONE HAS TO ALWAYS BE VIGILANT IN THE STRUGGLE FOR DECENCY…FREEDOM AND HUMANITY….
AS YOU SEE THE OPPOSITION IS RELENTLESS IN ITS DRIVE TO DESTROY THE AMERICAN DREAM FOR ALL BUT A FEW…
SO DO WE…..HAVE TO BE RELENTLESS IN OUT STRUGGLE TO PUSH BACK……
GUARD THE CHANGE….
THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES
Recyclin’ & reusin’ *IS* a good thing…
Let’s GUARD THE CHANGE while MOVIN’ AMERICA FORWARD to WIN THE FUTURE!
YES.WE.CAN…DO.(Much)More, Together!
YES.WE.CAN, Again…Obama/Biden 2012!

I don’t listen to the pund-idiots.
I left my suggestion below, but I like Restore America but let’s add jobs, like “Restore American Jobs”
I wish they would push the “We Do Big Things” idea. Democrats will be the party that wants to take America to new heights and Repubs just want to take us back to the stone age.
‘Guard the Change; We do Big Things!’ ? ‘We do Big Things; Guard the Change!’????
Yes We Did!
That should be the chant going forward and then list all the POTUS’ great accomplishments.
IMHO, Guard The Change is great for the troops, but not so good for everyone else — too abstract. How about Guard Our Jobs or Putting America Back To Work. That is what people care about and this ain’t no time to be coy.
‘…this ain’t no time to be coy’
Too true!
I am on duty!
