Ms Chips.. thanks for the heads up…. but HELP! The last 4 posts from you have come in completely BLANK with a light purple background, no way to link to the site….. the first one was “monday”, then “fired up”, then all the others… I could only access this one by going to a previous thread. Don’t know if it’s on my side or not, has anyone else had problems?? I know I don’t comment much at all, but I read as much as I can. Could it be because I live in Germany??

Oh no. Tamron Hall just announced she will be giving Maxine Waters air time on her program to blab some more. This is the shame of it all. Instead of reporting about Obama’s message and a unified effort supporting him, the whole thing becomes Waters engaging in “backlash”, as the media is framing it. Every time there’s a message that needs to be spread far and wide, there’s always some misguided Democrat ready to step in and mess everything up. It’s so stupid.

I saw that and immediately tweeted Tamron; telling her that black people don’t have a problem with PBO. It’s the CBC, especially corrupt Maxine Waters we have a problem with. I also told her that PBO NEVER told black people to stop whining and complaining; he was talking to the CBC who’ve been in power for decades and never got off their asses to help minorities and now see it fit to whine incessantly.

I think PBO was talking about Maxune Waters about her whininig, and complaining, and blaming everybody except her
well fuck her THE ONLY THING SHE IS CONCERN IT’S ABOUT HER FUCKING JOB SHE DOES NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT
the people she represents or pretends to care it’s all about her 15MINTS of fame on TV. and she is been used as a
rug. dispicalbe, so please keep on tweeting her.

As I said earlier they are using her and she is allowing it to disparage this President.

Please TOD call her office (202-225-2201)and tell her to cut it out. She’s doing this crap because she feels there are no consequences to her actions.

I just called her office and told the gentleman that the majority of the AA community does not support Ms. Waters going on TV and letting herself be used in that way to take down this President. He mentioned something about unemployment being high and I stopped him right there and said that unemployment has ALWAYS been high in the Black community, and the nation as a whole has been doing badly in recent years due to policies that have nothing to do with President Obama. I also told him that the media is not concerned about Maxine Waters or the Black community and they will only be too pleased to go back to ignoring the AA community when their Republican president is sworn in and the Republicans take over the senate.

So perfect hopefruit2 well said I am very upset about her comments on ABC this morning that when PBO meet with
the Hispanic Congrssional group he did not asked them to march on. Well speaking for the Latino comunity, we VOTED
for PBO because he will be able to help the comunity better to solve their problems and we will vote for him in 2012
again PBO has accomplished a lot in such short time we know that we Latinos understand him that he can not be able
to solve everybodys problems and we are not asking for too much so to Maxine waters STFU she does not speak for
our comunity. there are a lot’s of very nice people here and we liked all. thanks.

Gezz… Why is she so thin skinned? Bararck Obama is in campaign mode right now so he has upped the rhetoric a bit. And his idea what to make a parallel with the civil rights movement.

            So tired of the whining.

      Just saw this on thepeoplesview..

“When I called the Phil Gringrey (my House rep) office in Rome, GA to tell him to support the jobs bill, his staffer told me that Maxine Waters doesn’t even support it. She is now part of the problem. My rep is a teabagger and she is giving his staff talking points! Ridiculous!!”

My reply to him was: “Thanks for letting us know that, DEQ54! The ready comeback should be something that explains that Maxine isn’t about helping America get JOBS but helping herself get on tv.”

To echo what Donna’s post above – here is a repeat of my earlier post

    CALL TO ACTION

Today the senate is voting on the CR that the House passed, which funds disaster relief but cuts energy jobs.

Call Harry Reid and thank him for passing the bill without the cuts and ask him to remain strong as they consider the House version of the bill .

I would also ask everyone to call their Senator and say 2 things

1.Do not agree to budget cuts in the CR, vote against the House version of the bill.

    2. Support the American Jobs Act and the Buffett rule

Also as Donna said, call Maxine Waters and all members of the CBC which are listed on this page

    http://www.cbcfinc.org/cbc/cbc-members.html

I know this is one more thing to do, but as the President says “Democracy is hard work”

    Thanks folks.

PBO at the Linked In Townhall just said that Austin is one of his favorite cities in America! Yay!!!!!!! I wholeheartedly concur Sir. This city is wonderful, full of young and old hippies, laid back, full of young professionals, great music festivals like ACL and SXSW, great educational institutions *cough cough* – The University of Texas at Austin ( Goooooooooooooooooo LONGHORNS!!!!), great places to eat, great clubs, wonderful bike trails, lakes, a city that takes recycling very very very seriously. It is a LIBERAL OASIS in a conservative hell hole. :D

  7. September 26, 2011 at 2:21 pm

sounded like a tea party question there: concern about regulations and taxes on small business… they seem to be the only ones who don’t get that taxes have been lowered.

He is so good, so conscientious about answering all questions.

      • September 26, 2011 at 3:08 pm

Hey, similar ideas, Bobfr! Before seeing yours I sent her a tweet saying she should step aside as the CBC needs new blood.

Honestly, I hope all the PBO TV critics in the CBC get voted out. (Are their positions at play in the next election? Maybe they should be targeted as being past their ‘best by’ date.) All this washing dirty linen in the media shows a lack of purpose and leadership IMO. Given the President’s nature and leadership style I do not doubt that he, or his team, would have willingly sat down with them and addressed their issues AND listened to THEIR PROPOSALS TO IMPROVE THE STATUS QUO. These attacks just show Maxine W and other moaners have no workable ideas to bring to the table, so they need to seem they’re doing something by trying to tear down the person who is.

I wonder what regulations that woman who owns the (apartment/home) cleaning company could possible be complaining about?

She can’t hire illegal aliens? boo hoo

She must pay minimum wage? boo hoo

She must pay OT for over 40 hours a week? boo hoo

There are OSHA rules for workplace safety? boo hoo

What regulations could prevent her from operating and growing her business?

Got it in one Tally. That was probably a teabagger. PBO has cut more taxes for small businesses than any other President; so that question was disingenuous and as for regulations, he removed any regulation that was a huge burden; but as he said, he will not apologize for regulations that keep people safe and make sure people aren’t being exploited.

    – @OfficialCBC Please UNLEASH YOURSELVES on Maxine Waters. We’re sick of her “any-excuse-to-bash-Obama media tour”. @MaxineWaters #doyourjob

    – @MaxineWaters in Aug pretended your tour was about for AAs re: jobs. LIES! Weren’t elected 2 b 1 but maybe u r paid to be a media wh***

“Shake it off. Stop complainin’. Stop grumblin’. Stop cryin’. We are going to press on. We have work to do.”

I wish I can join in here @ work because this is outrageous. Truly, this is the last straw for me with her; instead of being a stand-up woman and a LEADER she chooses to run her dragon breathed mouth about some alternate universive b.s. Does she not realize that the MSM is USING her right now? She’s feeding right into their agenda of division which is only gonna hurt her in the long run. Why can’t she get that. I see no redeeming qualities about her whatsoever.

CBC needs to stand for Cut (the) BullCrap. She needs to go sit down.

TAXES ARE GOOD – TAXES ARE OUR DUES

“We pay our dues to be Americans and enjoy the benefits of American society.”

    =====================================

Lakoff argues that we need to promote a very different view of taxes—one that uses a very different kind of metaphor. The metaphor he suggests is that of taxes as “dues”.

Taxes are our dues — we pay our dues to be Americans and enjoy the benefits of American society. Taxes are what we pay to live in a civilized society that is democratic, offers opportunity, and has a huge infrastructure available to all citizens. This incredible infrastructure has been paid for by previous taxpayers. Roads and highways, the Internet, the broadcast airwaves, our public education system, our power grid — every day we all use this vast infrastructure. Our dues maintain it.2

It is about being a member, a part of the community. People pay a membership fee to join a gym, the local YMCA, or a club for which they get to use the basketball courts, the swimming pool, and the golf course. They did not pay for these facilities with their own memberships. They were built and paid for by other members, and all the current members maintain them with their dues. It is the same thing with our country — being a member in good standing of a remarkable nation. Americans pay their dues.

This idea of taxes as dues is not original to Lakoff. It is an idea that has often been expressed, but has not been promoted with the same ferocity or persistence of the taxes-as-affliction metaphor. Franklin Delano Roosevelt once remarked that “Taxes, after all, are dues that we pay for the privileges of membership in an organized society.” And Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. expressed a similar sentiment when he said that “I like to pay taxes. With them I buy civilization.”

Did you guys just hear that question? A guy who made and is still making millions from a search engine he created just told PBO he was “unemployed” by choice and will PBO please raise his taxes so that there’ll be money for Pell Grants, and revenue for the Federal Government so that America can progress and social programs will be available for one and all. He said he wants PBO to please let the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy expire and not to let Congress stop him because he and his wealthy friends have more than benefited from them to the detriment of the middleclass. He told PBO that many of his friends have expressed the same sentiments and are begging him to please raise taxes on the wealthy. Fantastic! You can’t make this stuff up!

PBO was right when he said that many wealthy people actually want to pay their fair share (unlike the Kochs) in taxes if it will benefit America.

I feel like asking Maxine W. how many more appearances will it take for her to clear her debt to whoever is ‘sponsoring’ her, but that sounds so mean **downcast eyes** and I really have no proof she’s made a deal with the devil. So, I’ll restrain myself and hope that she’ll either run out of steam soon or feel excessive heat from our tweets, phone calls, emails, snail mail, etc. And yes, I have sent a couple of tweets to her attention.

I just called the local LA office number for Maxine and the young man cut me off and began trying to tell me that she has passed some jobs bills. I asked him if he was going to let me leave my comment and he said yes, then put me on hold (probably to collect himself) because he came back on more calmly and listened then still wanted to defend her and say that she does vocally support the President when she criticize him???? I asked the young man to please pass on my message for her to be aware of how her comments are coming across on MSM. I thanked him for listening. Poor fella is probably catching the blues!!!!!!

He tried to interrupt me and I asked the same question. Are you going to argue with me or are you going to take my message? I said the problems like jobs and closed businesses are not fixed by her going on the morning shows and Wolf Blitzer. I said her pity tour and criticism tour is not helping and given her own ethic problems this message would be better served coming from someone else. He probably didn’t take down my message, but ended by saying, “sorry you feel that way.”

Sad contrast to some of the linkedin members currently online. Some of them are downright evil in their thinking. Really telling are most of the dissenters are CEO’s and CFO’s and heads of lucrative contracts. Someone brought that up during the open forum and I logged on to. Most of those who are patient and reasonable are the teachers, the non-profiters, those supported by unions….

Who was the guy hosting? He was MARVELOUS—- thats how its done MEDIA people!
Does anyone think that if Barack Obama had decided to just practice Law- what a HELL of a Litigator he would have been??

And most importantly I learn soooo much from his townhalls, the questions are mostly intelligent and REAL World.. none of the trash we see at the IGNORANT GOP debates… and President Obama is always on task, always clear in his responses, always honest and FACTUAL. And He thanks our TROOPS!!

VIDEO: Bachmann: Obamacare Will ‘Essentially Collapse’ Medicare
    http://thinkprogress.org/health/2011/09/26/328769/bachmann-obamacare-will-essentially-collapse-medicare/

BACHMANN: In this Obamacare legislation, the president steals over $500 billion out of Medicare and he pushes it over into Obamacare…. So what the president is planning is to have Medicare essentially collapse and people will move into Obamacare. But that’s not such a good deal, is it? Because we understand there is a brand new board he put in called IPAB — 15 political appointees and they’ll be making the decisions about whether you get your health insurance or not or whether you get your health care or not. They may say you have health insurance — but the question is, will you have access to what you need for your health care?

In reality, the health law extends the life of Medicare trust fund by nine years and the Medicare Trustees estimate growth, not collapse, as close to 64 million Americans will be enrolled in the program by 2020, up from 47 million today.

And what about those $500 billion in cuts Bachmann keeps referring to? The law does not reduce the current Medicare budget; it slows the growth in the program by removing $500 billion from future spending over the next 10 years. The cuts will help stabilize Medicare by eliminating overpayments and slowly phasing in payment adjustments that encourage greater efficiency. As a result, the CBO estimates that “growth in spending will be restrained by reductions in updates to payment rates that were included in the 2010 health care legislation.”

    http://thinkprogress.org/health/2011/08/24/302902/cbo-deficit-report-health-care-costs-will-be-restrained-by-savings-in-affordable-care-act/

The IPAB board is also not nearly as onerous. It’s tasked with making binding recommendations to Congress for lowering health care spending if costs increase beyond a certain point, but it is statutorily prohibited from rationing benefits or increasing co-pays.

    • September 26, 2011 at 4:20 pm

I doubt that Michele Bachmann has ever been right about anything in her life. She barely comprehends what’s going on and then makes half-baked assumptions, which she gleefully promotes. Fortunately, more people are tuning her out. Hard to imagine she has the money and support to keep up this his charade of a candidacy much longer. She’s a farce.

    • 97 nospin

Michelle Bachman still does not understand that raising the debt ceiling was to cover the costs of bills already accrued by the country. Every time she says PO raised the debt ceiling to build future debt.

I think something is “off” with her. Not sure if it something she can control.
