I just spent over 2 hours on the phone going back & forth w/the VA.. and was about as ticked as I could be.. and then I watch this video.. and feel so so much better~ perfecto! thank you smilingl8dy & chips
I was thinking about the expression from South Africa that the first Lady used in her speech, “strike a woman, strike a rock”. How about this variation, strike a line dancer, strike a rock.
And heres an email just received from OFA.. POTUS on the ball again.. pushing for the head of the Consumer Protection Agency to be affirmed- please go sign it:
Sheri –
You played a huge part in passing Wall Street reform last year. I want to give you an update on where that stands right now:
Nearly three months ago, President Obama selected Richard Cordray to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — an agency put in place by Wall Street reform to protect regular folks in the financial system. The sooner Cordray is confirmed, the sooner the CFPB can continue to do the big things we need them to do — like taking on predatory credit card and mortgage lenders and bait-and-switch creditors.
This morning, the Senate Banking Committee sent his nomination to the full Senate. But Republicans are saying they won’t let a vote happen.
They aren’t saying Cordray is unqualified, because his qualifications are obvious. They are opposing him — and any other nominee — because they don’t want the agency to exist at all.
But it does — it’s the law of the land. And it’s long overdue that we have cops on the beat protecting consumers from Wall Street abuses.
Don’t let them get away with stopping that enforcement before it starts.
Here’s something you can do right now:
Add your name to the call to confirm Richard Cordray so the CFPB can do its job protecting ordinary people as effectively as possible — and then ask your friends to join you.
The goal of this campaign — and this President — is to make sure people who work hard and play by the rules get a fair shake, whether that means being able to get a loan to buy a house and send your kid to college, or not having to go bankrupt when you get sick.
But Republicans have fought us every step of the way — and what’s more, they’ve chosen to stand up for the exact people who are gaming the system. Every single Republican presidential candidate wants to repeal Wall Street reform and make sure this agency never gets off the ground.
Here’s the bottom line: The CFPB needs a director in order to function and offer protections to millions of American consumers.
And Cordray has a history of cracking down on those who don’t play by the rules. As Ohio’s Attorney General, he took action against companies involved in foreclosure scams, and helped recover billions in pension funds on behalf of retirees, investors, and business owners.
Republicans in the Senate are going to try to hold up this vote for as long as they can — but this is so much bigger than politics. That’s only going to stop if they hear from as many people like us as possible.
Make your voice heard today. Add your name to the call to give the CFPB a director:
That was way cool! What a wonderful gift to open and enjoy after a hard day trying to stamp out ignorance.
This campaign is like no other. It invites everyone in to participate in ways as individual as each of us is. Our president is community organizing the country (how you like him now, S.P.?).
I just love that yes we can, again video. I found myself getting up trying to dance along with them. FLOTUS would have been proud of me, I did move alittle bit. I had fun.
Thank you Miss Chips and Smilingl8dy for this upbeat video. It had me up and dancing.
What a wonderful set of inspiring Women and some men of course.

The fight for the American Jobs Act is the first time in a long while that the president has tried a more aggressive posture, not because he prefers confrontation, but because Republicans haven’t responded to countless appeals for constructive negotiation. With the GOP repeatedly slapping away his outstretched hand, Obama wasn’t left with much of a choice.
And some White House political reporters want to know why Obama isn’t trying to negotiate with those bent on destroying his presidency? Seriously?
Yes we can and yes we will in 2012.
YES WE CAN!
