Oh my gosh, there are some real gems in this group. The ones with the children are just so tender I could melt!! Wow, what an incredibly enriched life they are leading!!!! Us, too.
methinks Obamas yearn for a boy in the family. They should go for it.
What makes you say that amk? Actually, I think President Obama is VERY content to be the only male in the family (not counting Bo of course). He’s used to being around females and likes the attention
I know. That’s the way to spoil a man.
So says you. There’s this little thing called a biological clock.
Good Morning Chips and TOD’ville. TGIF
Well I should be hearing something today about the Grassroots Fundraising Challenge. The last I heard they were still counting donations. Apparently people were allowed to mail-in donations and credit fundraisers thermometers. I’m just hoping to hold onto one of those spots to get that call from the President.
TOD will be the first to no when I get the word
Call to Action Friday:
Please write your member of Congress in support of the President’s American Jobs Act.

Have a great Productive O’Day Everyone!
Finger crossed, Donna. If there were other rules, wish they had been more widely known.
We are all pulling for you, Donna. You had such a lead, I sure hope you win.
I’ll be pushing for the AJA today, for sure.
Rooting for you donna. Best wishes.
Fingers and toes crossed for you Donna!
Fingers and toes crossed for you:) I’m DYING to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am calling my senators with the message that I support Harry Reid’s efforts to get around their obstruction (both of my senators are GOP). I am calling them out on their lack of integrity and disrespecting our democratic system and telling them that I noticed WHY Senator Reid had to employ something to help our aspirations as a nation prevail over their need to dominate and control all of us and rig the system.
that’s a good point. I think I’ll make that point too to my senators. (they’re dems)
hope you get the call Donna!
I pray you win. Thanks for all you do to help re-elect President Obama.
good luck Donna
We are with you Donna. Keep Hope Alive!! Hope you are the winner. The TOD family has got your back and as for my Congress critters…….DONE!!!
Love Bo lounging underneath that gorgeous painting. He’s such a cutie
That was great! The one thing that concerned me was that the photo at the Waldorf showed the room number. Just seemed like that shouldn’t be there.
I think there is a Presidential Suite at the Waldorf. I am certain the floor is well protected.
Yes, I’ve been in that suite for a reception–it’s palatial and and also located down its own hall. Very, very well sheltered and protected.
That’s good to hear, Jackie. Thanks.
The photos are wonderful. time to calm down and enjoy this first family, thanks
Steve Benen has a piece about what happened in the Senate last night.

Good for reid. He grew some backbone finally.
Thanks. I didn’t understand what was going on since I read on one site that Reid through Obama under the bus with this tactic. Good for Reid that he’s using better strategy to get around the do nothing Republicans.
Beautiful, beautiful photos. The one with the autistic boy was heart rending. What it must have taken for the parents to to take him to the White House and help him deal with so many stimuli. And the look of wonder on his face when he looks at the president. Just priceless.
OUR FIRST COUPLE IS IN LOVE WITH THE WORLD’S CHILDREN!
BO THE CAMERA ‘HAM’ STER SURE LOVES TO POSE FOR THOSE PROFILES. HE’S BEAUTIFUL!
Some news about employment:
Nonfarm payroll up 103,000 in Sept. rate at 9.1%
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The U.S. added 103,000 nonfarm jobs in September, the Labor Department said Friday. The increase was larger than the 59,000 gain expected by Wall Street economists polled by MarketWatch. Returning workers after the end of a strike at Verizon Communications Inc. added about 45,000 workers to payrolls in September. Revisions to the past two months added 99,000 workers to payrolls. The government sector continued to shed jobs in the month. Private payrolls expanded by 137,000 jobs. The unemployment rate held steady at 9.1% as expected. Average hourly earnings increased 0.2% to $23.12 in September, reversing a drop in August. Economists had been expecting a 0.2% gain. Earnings are up 1.9% in the past year. The average workweek rose six minutes to 34.3 hours. The manufacturing workweek edged down.

Thanks Meta its promising that we are holding steady but certainly not enough. We need the AJA passed pronto!!
Claro que sí!!
Beautiful, beautiful. Warm hearted President Obama connecting with adorable, adorable little kids. But that photo of Bo Obama takes the cake! If that isn’t a beauty! It looks like a museum quality piece of art!
Amazing photos! What a wonderful way to wake up this morning.
Lo and behold! Jackie Calmes of the WaPO did her homework!
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/07/us/politics/obama-says-he-would-accept-a-surtax-on-high-incomes.html?_r=1&pagewanted=2
And it shows that PBO was absolutely correct.
If you want to thank her for doing her job:
@calmesnyt
Done.
Jackie Calmes works at the NY Times. The WashPost is too busy acting all shocked, shocked that the administration is trying to “change” the definition of wealthy as making more than one million per annum. Yeah, I don’t know.
pete souza rocks
I love Pete Souza. Yes Pete Can. The boy going in the Oval office is simply the cutest. All of them are cute.
Aww the first photo is precious. Those babies look like they’d be PBO and Miche’s children.
I just loving seeing POTUS and FLOTUS with kids. They brings a smile to my face.
Pete the genius has done it again. Along with Chuck Kenndey of course.
The first picture has got to be the sweetest. The level of comfort the beautiful children are showing with POTUS and FLOTUS is a wonderful sight to behold. Love the playfulness of President Obama. Thanks Chips for this majestic view to wake up to.
I know, I love the first photo. The little girl looks like she’s saying ” I ‘m gonna be president too” and her little brother on FLOTUS lap wants to get down and play with PBO….so cute. A nice start of my day with a smile.
What a way to start the day! All I can do is
. This is what PBO’s detractors fear: his humanity, his magnetism, his effect on children. The children love him, and there’s nothing they can do about it.
Absolutely gorgeous photos. Thanks Chips. Have a great day, everyone!
I wish there were a website of pictures of just our President and First Lady with children.
Great pics! This is my favorite one so far…http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitehouse/6218346821/in/photostream…I love that Michelle and the kids are focused on Bo, who’s very much a dog that loves people, and the two adults, who seem to be the teachers are looking on at the scene. The lighting is great.
I’m loving how everyone is making sure to bring their babies now when going to see PBO after he comforted that baby girl in August. So many baby pics! Great stuff!
Great pictures. I can totally see the Obamas becoming foster parents once their time in the WH is done.
And Bo is a little diva (or is that divO?)
Can’t you just imagine Bo saying “Somebody, peel me a grape”.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the First Couple!! I treat everyone and I mean EVERYONE with respect and are soooooo great with Kids!!! How could you NOT LOVE THEM???!! I mean, just as people……they are so genuine!!! God please continue to bless them!!
