A new movie will be out soon called Machine Gun Preacher documenting an American missionary’s struggles against the LRA.
The group claims to be an emissary from God capable of channeling the Holy Spirit. The group has notoriously gone through Uganda capturing children and turning them into soldiers and, when not successful, murdering them. The group engages in sex trafficking, slavery, murder, mutilation, and the list goes on and on.
LRA members have been hunted by George W. Bush and now by Barack Obama. They are an evil group and while we can debate the policy implications of the President sending troops off to Africa, we should not make victims or political points off the group the President will hopefully eradicate.

IMO, and I will take the criticism, but the reason his poll numbers aren’t bouncing up, even though AJA is popular, is because of the nonsense we have had to go through since the GOP took over the House. I haven’t looked at the data and the polling, but the almost government shut down, followed by the summer’s debt ceiling debacle, made the president LOOK ineffective, despite the fact that the deals he ended up with weren’t so bad – on policy grounds. However, the GOP did a good job stalling and playing games and, in essence, controlling the debate for the first and second part of this year.
That time period, unfortunately has soured people. I think folks are still rooting for our president, but they are skeptical. We just got to keep plugging away.
I think the MSM is being somewhat untruthful about PBO’s numbers. Who are they polling? My hubby went to have some blood work done today. He said two elderly white ladies came and sat beside him. He was reading a story about Herman Cain in the USAToday. One of the ladies asked him, what he thought about Cain. Not in the mood to talk, he told her, that’s why he was reading the paper to find out.
Later on when they both got called to have their blood drawn and were leaving, the lady, told him she sure hoped that my hubby was not thinking about voting for Cain. See, my hubby assumed because we live in this red district, that the little lady would have been a GOP supporter. She told him that she sure hoped he was planning on voting for PBO. That she could not stand Perry, she thought he was a “weasel” and that none of the others can hold a candle to PBO.
He said she got very animated calling the GOP candidates “idiots.” He said he told her, “I just thought that because we live in this Conservative town, that you would be rooting for the GOP candidates. She told him flatly “not me.” And after a pause, he said, she told him, “you will be surprised, there are many of us here.”
I told him I was going to pass it on to the TOD family.

The American Jobs Act includes an immediate investment in employing construction workers to restore 150 miles of runway at American airports and put in place a next-generation air-traffic control system to reduce travel time and delays.
President Obama has made it clear that investing in infrastructure is not a partisan issue and it’s time to put those in industries hit hardest by the recession back to work rebuilding America. As the President said, “now people go to Beijing Airport and they say, I wish we had an airport like that. We can’t compete that way, playing for 2nd or 3rd or 4th or 8th or 15th place.”
There is no reason the world’s newest airports can’t be built in the United States by American workers and the American Jobs Act will help make that possible.

In the past 72 hours, I have gotten lots of emails from lots of people who should know better asking me if I’ve heard about Barack Obama sending American troops to Africa to go after the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). The people hearing the name assume it is a Christian group fighting radical Islamists in the Sudan or some such.
It is no such thing.
We can debate whether sending military advisers — the numbers range from a few dozen to a hundred — to Uganda to help track down and capture LRA members, but let us not claim the LRA is something it is not.
A new movie will be out soon called Machine Gun Preacher documenting an American missionary’s struggles against the LRA.
The group claims to be an emissary from God capable of channeling the Holy Spirit. The group has notoriously gone through Uganda capturing children and turning them into soldiers and, when not successful, murdering them. The group engages in sex trafficking, slavery, murder, mutilation, and the list goes on and on.
LRA members have been hunted by George W. Bush and now by Barack Obama. They are an evil group and while we can debate the policy implications of the President sending troops off to Africa, we should not make victims or political points off the group the President will hopefully eradicate.

On Rushbo’s show after the Administration’s announcement, he almost immediately said that PBO was sending troops to fight Christians. No research, no fact checking, just that the evil Kenyan Muslim usurper was fighting Christians. Erickson’s post was partly in response to that.

McCain wasted the senate’s time today bitching and whining about the Secret Service ordered bus – I repeat; Secret Service ordered bus – that President Obama uses on his jobs tour. McCain whined that it was unAmerican for PBO’s bus to be made and outfitted by a Canadian company. He neglected to mention that the SS ordered two buses. One for PBO and the other for the eventual republican nominee. He also neglected to mention that the bus was outfitted by a company in Tennessee. Last I checked TN is in the good ‘ol US of A. Rev Al. then called him out for the hypocrite he is; because in 2008 his “straight talk” express bus was made by THE SAME CANADIAN COMPANY THAT MADE PBO’S BUS. McCain is just ridiculously jealous of PBO. It’s quite infantile at this point. I remember in 2009 he was complaining about the helicopters that protect Marine One when PBO is aboard. First lady Michelle Obama and second lady Jill Biden appeared together on Monday to help put the finishing touches on a Washington row house that has been redesigned to fit the needs of a wounded Army sergeant.
They spent part of the morning painting a wall in the [Johnny Agbi’s] home near Capitol Hill, which has been to be made wheelchair accessible.
The home’s owner, Johnny Agbi, who served as an army medic in Afghanistan, sustained serious injuries after his helicopter transport was shot down in 2002. The appearance was part of the two spouses’ initiative, “Joining Forces” which honors service members and their families.
“We’re perfectionists,” said Obama—dressed in a button down, jeans and a pair of sneakers, as she painted a living room wall a pale yellow during a photo op with reporters. The second lady—wearing an Army t-shirt, jeans and a pair of Nikes–kneeled beside Obama painting another part of the wall.
“We’re not asking anyone to do anything extraordinary,” Obama said in brief remarks at the home. “We’re not asking people to start a brand new organization, or to raise or spend millions of dollars…we’re just asking people to ask one simple question and that is ‘What can I do?’”
The home marked the 1,000th home that has been refitted for soldiers since 2007 through a program sponsored by Sears and Rebuilding Together.
“Today is not the finish line, even though it’s the 1,000th home,” Obama said. “Instead it’s a mile marker. Jill and I are not going to stop until every American is joining forces with our military families.”

If 67% want his policies to succeed, why doesn’t this translate to his approval numbers? Something fishy going on there.
IMO, and I will take the criticism, but the reason his poll numbers aren’t bouncing up, even though AJA is popular, is because of the nonsense we have had to go through since the GOP took over the House. I haven’t looked at the data and the polling, but the almost government shut down, followed by the summer’s debt ceiling debacle, made the president LOOK ineffective, despite the fact that the deals he ended up with weren’t so bad – on policy grounds. However, the GOP did a good job stalling and playing games and, in essence, controlling the debate for the first and second part of this year.
That time period, unfortunately has soured people. I think folks are still rooting for our president, but they are skeptical. We just got to keep plugging away.
I think the MSM is being somewhat untruthful about PBO’s numbers. Who are they polling? My hubby went to have some blood work done today. He said two elderly white ladies came and sat beside him. He was reading a story about Herman Cain in the USAToday. One of the ladies asked him, what he thought about Cain. Not in the mood to talk, he told her, that’s why he was reading the paper to find out.
Later on when they both got called to have their blood drawn and were leaving, the lady, told him she sure hoped that my hubby was not thinking about voting for Cain. See, my hubby assumed because we live in this red district, that the little lady would have been a GOP supporter. She told him that she sure hoped he was planning on voting for PBO. That she could not stand Perry, she thought he was a “weasel” and that none of the others can hold a candle to PBO.
He said she got very animated calling the GOP candidates “idiots.” He said he told her, “I just thought that because we live in this Conservative town, that you would be rooting for the GOP candidates. She told him flatly “not me.” And after a pause, he said, she told him, “you will be surprised, there are many of us here.”
I told him I was going to pass it on to the TOD family.
He said he was pleasantly surprised at the little lady’s reaction.
Go figure.
