Amazing how these dictators and killers have been able to live and move about doing their dirty work for years…..until…President Barack Obama gets involved. While others chose to look the other way, President Obama looks straight ahead with a clear vision.
I’m so proud to call Barack Obama my President of the United States.
Oh me too GGail, me too, every single day I’m proud of him. Just watched the awards and was so touched by the good people that are working and accomplishing such greatness in this country.. but we never hear about them~ grateful to POTUS for making us aware of them.

Bush spent trillion+$$ on an illegal war, lost interest in OBL & crashed our economy. Obama, got OBL, ended Daffi, saved GM&Chrysler ……
Fantastic celebration with all my Libyan friends and others around the world who have spent every day since 17 Feb finding ways to support the Libyans quest for freedom. Great comments here:

As #KOCHMAFIA bosses Boehner, Cantor & McConnell try to destroy our economy, #PresObama ends another terrorist/dictator & fights for JOBS.
Listen, we talking, MULTI- TASKING, you know like doing MANY things at the same time, yeah. You got It going on PBO, I got your back, I’m In, Obama/Biden 2012, Yes we Can
So they are trotting out the BIRTHERS, BAGGERS AND BLOWHARDS to comment on the death of Gadhafi?? It’s really hysterical how they all make skid marks to the cameras and the microphones when there is a big story like this. The Republicans and former Bush administration personnel have joined the gasbags on tv. Rubio is twisting himself into a pretzel because to give President Obama credit for anything is totally unacceptable to the GOP. I will defer to the Libyan people.
By the way, I can’t take credit for the birthers, baggers and blowhards line. The credit goes to Bob Beckel. It said it while being interviewed on Fox back in January 2010. It was so awesome when he said it.
The GOP’s ‘Thank America Last’ crowd (This is just astonishing)
==============================
Republicans hate the president so much, they just can’t bring themselves to credit him for the success of the mission, or even thank American servicemen and women for their service in completing the mission.
I realize Rubio is a reflexive partisan, but even for him, his comments on Fox News this morning were just cheap. When the fear of Obama getting some credit for success is stronger than the satisfaction that comes with Gadhafi’s demise, there’s a problem.
As for Rubio complaining about the way in which Obama’s policy came together, it’s worth noting that the president assembled an international coalition with surprising speed and won approval from the United Nations extremely quickly.
If Rubio and his ilk don’t want to applaud the president for getting the results they claim to have wanted, the least they can do is have the decency to acknowledge the efforts of U.S. troops. Is that really too much to ask from the right?
Update: McCain appeared on CNN this morning and said, “I think the [Obama] administration deserves credit, but I especially appreciate the leadership of the British and French in this in carrying out this success.” Shameless.
The rethugs are disgusting and the levels they stoop down seems to have no end. As I have been saying, the american fourth estate are truly fifth columnists.
These Republicans who are constantly commenting in a very negative and shameful manner toward President Obama because that is what they have chosen to deposit within the channel of their core, the heart. ” Out of the heart, the mouth speaketh.” These men and women seem to feed on this bitterness within their souls.
We will continue though to support our President, keep praying for wisdom, keep a good focus of positive thougths in our quiet, meditative times as we daily lift up our President. We will continue to hope for the best for the good to come to all people who have been oppressed for decades by the evil ways of men like Khaddafy. I believe in my heart that this President has been focused from the beginning, has always valued the worth of so many people all over the words who have been held in this type of evil environment for so long. It takes a great leader, a calm and well informed leader(which we have in POB), and uses well thoughtout plans and then moves with precise intelligent and uses the ‘better angel’ within his core, brings goodness to our hearts.
These Republicans have been in the ‘halls of power’ for decades, and what have they done to release this awful oppression of the precious lives being held under the ugly and evil hands of likes of a Kaddafy? Then a wonderful, very, very smart President like Barack Obama comes along and work with people all over the world to help bring some sense of freedom to so many, is a relief to be grateful for his leadership. So we will be grateful, give him credit, respect his leadership, and move with grace, humbleness of how peace will come to many people of all walks of life within these countries. We are going to be on the right side of history in a very good way.
So we will let these ugly, hateful, ‘little people’ live with their own hate and be miserable of their own doing, but we will move forward with the great opportunity of this beautiful gift in our President, Barack Obama and make this a better place for all of my sweet and deserving young people and your children to live in and with people of all cultures all over the world because of what our wonderful President, Barack Obama is doing, has done, and will continue to do . We Press on with positive, grateful, and hard work to get him re-elected to make this a better place. We choose to move with the goodness in our spirits, while these people choose to move in the world of hate, envy, and with destructive attitudes daily. We are better than this frame of mind. Almighty Powers be gracious to POB and give him wisdom, strength, and protection as he performs his daily duties as our President. Little by little he is making this a better world for so many to live in long pass my time on this earth. God bless him and lift him above all of the ugly attitudes of these Republicans.HZ
“Shameless” doesn’t begin to cover it. Because of our superior communications and logistics ability, if PBO hadn’t signed on it’s, at minimum, questionable that the end of Gadaffi’s decades long reign of terrorism was possible.
In reading these republicans’ statements, it makes me wonder: where is their “patriotism”, especially in light that they’ve tried to “own” that word?.
I couldn’t disagree more with that article. The MegaMedia is THE problem – not the “messaging” of President Obama and the Democrats. Every time I’ve ever seen a Democrat and the President talk for years now, they have the same strong message and they do make the stark distinctions between them and the Repub insanity. Watch clips of Stanley Ann’s son from 2008 or 2009, and Nancy Pelosi in that same time frame and you’ll see the truth.
It’s just that the MegaMedia filters all that messaging out in favor of the pre-approved, highly coordinated false storylines that they repeat 24/7, regardless of all the facts showing that they’re wrong. People have GOT to stop this false theme that Democrats or President Obama are weak on messaging or just now finding their stride. Focus, people, on the real problem – The MegaMedia, both broadcast and print. Ready, aim, FIRED UP!
I couldn’t agree more with your statement. It’s like blaming the victim. Not that the president is a victim, but they are blaming him for the media, corporations and the Republican operatives for negative reporting on the president. When he gets out and gives his message, he is too exposed. Then they bring on Democrats on the TV that disagrees with the president, otherwise they don’t get to be one. There is a coordinated effort to not report the positives of this president no matter how many times he toot his own horn.
You tell the absolute TRUTH, bonkers! Like you, I’ve seen the President and his team consistently telling a coherent message and tout their accomplishments. But only way I know this is because of sites like this. On the other hand, the so called mainstream medai has consistently either filtered the President’s message or completely refused to transmit it.
Yup, sure enough. They are using Richard haas the former employee for Bush, to pour cold water on this victory.I assume, he is the first of many former bush lites! I heard Ron Christie was number 2! It has begun!
The President will speak at 2.
MSNBC has had on quite the lineup to comment on Qadhafi’s demise, starting with Ken Blackwell!!!!! right after the news broke. Ken Blackwell!!! Who presided over the problematic, to put it mildly, presidential election in Oh in ’04. He was the first, and it’s been a steady string of goofy and rt. wing choices ever since. Andrea Mitchell is not a “friend of Obama”. She loves to have on GOPolitico and other Obama critics, thus Richard Haas. That’s why I wasn’t trusting the meme that she and Daily Beast’s Tina Brown (not a friend of Obama) were pushing, that Obama is so uncaring and unappealing that he needs Michelle by his side to make him human. GOPolitico was very “concerned” about this too. Not doing Obama any favors by pushing that false charge.
I am late to lurking today but I see that you allowed Jovie to talk you out of your ambassadorial wish to come to Trinidad & Tobago. Rome is fine and the Whitehouse is fantastic but Trinidad & Tobago is out of this world. My suggestion is break it up over PBO’s next for years – two in T&T, one in Rome and the Whitehouse each. Looking forward to seeing you. All the TOD family can take turns in coming to visit you. The Ambassador has a large house perched on a hill.
Sam, my prayers for you and your family.
Back to lurking, I am having problems catching up with all the news.
socasweet, thank you so much for your kind prayers, it really means so much to me. Posted down thread on dad’s progress. Looks like he will be ok.
Thanks again, God bless.
Here is something I find pathetic. Julie Mason Politico, ” President appears tired, robot like message, scanty applause at final stop on bus tour”. Heading was “Get me home”. Good Lord!
Yes, they’re attacking someone named Steve ISRAEL (DCCC) for gods sake, for being tied to the (fake) anti-semite rumblings at OWS. Down is up, up is down, and on and on it goes. Stupidity reigns.
I just got the same email and I signed the petition. I think Mr. Israel is the head of the DNC. I really like him. Whenever I see him on tv, he is a very good spokesman for the administration and is great in fundraising.
The Basque separatist group Eta says it has called a “definitive cessation” to its campaign of bombings and shootings.
In a statement provided exclusively to the BBC, Eta called on the Spanish and French governments to respond with “a process of direct dialogue”.
The declaration, if followed through, would bring an end to Eta’s campaign of violence, which has lasted more than 40 years and killed more than 800 people.
The Spanish government has not yet responded to the announcement.
Analysts say it is likely to react with caution, and repeat its call for Eta to disarm and disband.
They say Eta has been badly weakened by a security crackdown in recent years.
The declaration follows a conference this week in the Basque Country, attended by international statesmen including former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, and protagonists in the Northern Ireland peace process.
The media as usual is horrendous. Not a single corporate bobblehead or the useless analysts they bring on has the decency to just give this President the credit he so glaringly deserves. There you had Jamie Rubin earlier mumble his way through his talking points, Barry MCgaffrey (sp?), Now Richard Hass. Did any pundit withhold praise when Saddam was ousted? No but with this resident we supposedly have to wait years to see if his policies will be vindicated? how much Obama Derangement Syndrome can you pirouette on a pin head?
I think we need to go on a “compare & contrast” mission to expose this media as the lying dishonest GOP FRAUDS that they are. Complile video footage and Newspaper headline clippings from the Bush presidency and compare it with the same for the Obama presidency and highlight the stark and disturbing contrast. Let them know we are on to their bullshyte and we’re not having it.
It would be a lot of work and I don’t know about copyrights and anything, but this kind of video would be SO COOL. Hope someone has the techical knowhow and time to do it.
Another video which could be very interesting is one where you could “compare & contrast” WITHIN all that they’ve said during this presidency alone, I mean… expose the media contradictions in the last few years ALONE. “He does too much” /”He doesn’t do enough”, “He’s weak / He’s agressive”, “He’s out of touch with the real world”/”He should have stayed in Washington”, “His base is leaving him because he wants to cooperate with republicans”/ “He should talk to republicans”, and on and on …
Both of these ideas sound promising, HF & LP’08! Could there be problems with copyright If the source is acknowledged? After all, the clippings would be from the news etc.- wouldn’t that be in the public domain? [
Sometimes I think it's so hard to have, or see, good ideas that you have time to do, but no skill. ;( ]
When OWS first started, Ratigan was allowed speak there. I am sure he thought that was his foot in the door to exploit the protestors and the movement and push his agenda. I am happy that the guy called him out for being a fraud.
I think a lot of people are tired of guys like Ratigan and Uygar exploiting this movement to push their anti Obama rhetoric and they’re finding that people are sick and tired of this sort of crap.
I also wanted to add that this video along with what I’ve seen shows that the gallup poll is full of shit when it tries to claim that more of the occupy wallstreet people blame the government more than Wallstreet.
well damn, i went to the store to buy some cleaning supplies and the ingredients to try this new recipe I got for an Indian dish I had in India called “Butter chicken” and I come home to hear about Gadhafi…damn POTUS don’t play.
I don’t know how President Obama has the fortitude and strength to move forward when crazies yell out stuff like that, except that our President does and he stands so far above the stenographers, it’s amazing!
Thank you, Mr. President, for your foreign policy, your diplomacy, and your “clear-eyed leadership [as John Kerry said]“!
I don’t know how he does it either. It just seems to be his way to keep moving forward and probably thinks of the jackals as background noise. No one will ever be able to question our President’s foreign policy wins.
I heard the leading from behind comment and thought, again, these guys/gals really have no sense. Is this the moment for that? They are like programmed robots, give them a talking point and they beat it even when it’s obvious it’s dead. The MSM do NOT learn or grow, and it doesn’t seem like they will,…or can!!!
Maybe i’m crankier than normal because I’ve had sore vocal cords for the past 2 1/2 weeks, but reading everyone’s posts here about the US media reaction is really cheesing me off. If it had been GWB who had killed Awlake and bin Ladin, and formed the coalition to oust and kill Gaddafi he would’ve been nominated for President for Life. Some days I feel so done with this country.
OT – Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts, prayers and comments. Just gotten back from the hospital, Dad’s doing ok. We thought he had a heart attack yesterday. He has an irregular heartbeat but tests confirmed that he had not suffered a heart attack. He’s having treatment but looks like he will be ok. possibly home by Monday.
Once again thank you all so much for your thoughts, it really means a lot to me. I was so scared and worried this morning – apologies if my first post was garbled. You are such wonderful people.
Just gonna catch up with some President Obama news and see if I can catch a video of his rose garden address then will go see mom to make sure she is ok. Maybe later just relax with hubby and son to watch one of my Obama dvd’s. Love you guys, God bless you all.
Not sure if anyone (Desertflower?) shared this yet, but it is worth a look. An American Petroleum Institute lobbyist doesn’t need to make a formal submission to the Super Committee since he has ‘personal’ inside contact.
I am so glad I have lived to witness these times, this administration.
Senator Kennedy said when he endorsed President Obama, ” Let there be no doubt: We are all committed to seeing a Democratic President in 2008. But I believe there is one candidate who has extraordinary gifts of leadership and character, matched to the extraordinary demands of this moment in history. He understands what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. called the “fierce urgency of now.”
He will be a president who refuses to be trapped in the patterns of the past. He is a leader who sees the world clearly without being cynical. He is a fighter who cares passionately about the causes he believes in, without demonizing those who hold a different view. He is tough-minded, but he also has an uncommon capacity to appeal to “the better angels of our nature.”
No matter what he has faced, no matter how unfairly criticized, no matter how viciously maligned, this president keeps his eye on the future of America, on what’s good for ALL of America. No matter how hard times may be, this is a period in history which I feel blessed to witness.
Keep praying, stay vigilant, Press On, everybody! (Again, thanks Chipsticks(!) for this cleansing, therapeutic site.)
EIG, what a ringing endorsement, AND ALL OF IT SO VERY TRUE as we have seen! Sad that Senator Kennedy wasn’t able to witness more of PBO in action, but reassuring that he was able to make all these conclusions from what he HAD witnessed.
So true desertflower. I am SO proud of him and this administration, it’s not even funny. He is just extraordinary. I could never do what he does because as soon as I heard that comment about leading from behind, my neck would twisted 6 ways to Sunday, ‘What’s that mofo?’ See..my presidency would have been over that afternoon.
I hear you! He has the patience of??? I don’t know who. You know why? Because he’s bigger than his enemies, and it’s never about him…but about doing the right thing for the country.
“Leading from behind” is a quote from Nelson Mandela.
http://thinkexist.com/quotation/as_a_leader-i_have_always_endeavored_to_listen_to/148828.html
“As a leader… I have always endeavored to listen to what each and every person in a discussion had to say before venturing my own opinion. Oftentimes, my own opinion will simply represent a con-sensus of what I heard in the discussion. I always remember the axiom: a leader is like a shepherd. He stays behind the flock, letting the most nimble go out ahead, whereupon the others follow, not realizing that all along they are being directed from behind.”
“It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.”
Amazing how these dictators and killers have been able to live and move about doing their dirty work for years…..until…President Barack Obama gets involved. While others chose to look the other way, President Obama looks straight ahead with a clear vision.

Sometimes I think it's so hard to have, or see, good ideas that you have time to do, but no skill. ;( ]

RT @reelectobama012: Check this video out — Occupy Wall Street Protester Confronts MSNBC’s Dylan Ratigan
When OWS first started, Ratigan was allowed speak there. I am sure he thought that was his foot in the door to exploit the protestors and the movement and push his agenda. I am happy that the guy called him out for being a fraud.
OOps, correction, allowed “to”.
I’M LOVIN’ IT. tHE BIG BAD RAT CALLED OUT. i bet it won’t get mentioned on his show. He should’ve pimp slapped Cenk while he was at it.
Chips, via twitter, Obama’s One Million strong page

More than half a million first time donors since April 14, 2011. In just six months, half a million new donors added. wow.
Ezra Klein asks, “Where are the Republican heavyweights” for 2012?

CNN is at it again with their “what should the president say…blah blah blah”
Memo to CNN:
The President will say WHAT THE HELL HE WANTS TO SAY. HE’s the PRESIDENT, NOT YOU, so SIT THE HELL DOWN and STFU.
EXACTLY
lol
Perfect
damn right Hope
and btw he was pitch perfect
Bravo, Hopefruit!
Heads up everyone, the President is about to speak:

‘…The rule of an iron fist inevitably comes to an end.’
well damn, i went to the store to buy some cleaning supplies and the ingredients to try this new recipe I got for an Indian dish I had in India called “Butter chicken” and I come home to hear about Gadhafi…damn POTUS don’t play.
President gives credits as he usually does, to …
our skilled diplomats,
brave pilots,
sailors,
leadership at NATO
Today belongs to the people of Libya
I know the Am people wish the people of Libya…
Which idiot stenographer called out about “leading from behind?” Seriously, don’t they understand that Gadaffi was a terrorist.
Must be their purpose in life to be assinine and belligerent…sucks to be them
I don’t know how President Obama has the fortitude and strength to move forward when crazies yell out stuff like that, except that our President does and he stands so far above the stenographers, it’s amazing!
I love how he just says thank you and walks away from the Jackals yelling questions.
Would have been good if he’d slammed the podium with his open hand, but I guess that would be expecting too much during a serious moment.
he should have dropped the mic
The jackals are all stunned that he didn’t take any questions. Thank Mr. President. I heard you loud and clear.
The citizenship medal ceremony has started on WH live feed.
You aren’t crankier than normal the media are just getting worse
don’t blame your poor vocal cords on having a bad day but blame should go to the so-called “liberal” media being assholes LiberalLibrarian
Good to hear that Sam. Have a more relaxing day with your family, and keep in prayer.
Happy news, Sam! God bless you and yours.
this is great news Sam.Happy to hear your dad is on his way to recovery
We love you back:)
That is great news Sam. Glad yiour Dad is okay.
Not sure if anyone (Desertflower?) shared this yet, but it is worth a look. An American Petroleum Institute lobbyist doesn’t need to make a formal submission to the Super Committee since he has ‘personal’ inside contact.
http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2011/10/20/federal-lobbyist-for-big-oil-contacts-deficit-super-committee-our-conversations-have-been-very-productive/
Bless you…did I post that? I have no idea! Try to bring as much info over here as I can…but I don’t remember….regardless…important info!
Me guilty. I know you often share from TPC, so I wasn’t sure whether you had shared it before I arrived.
My President is SIERRA HOTEL!! (Shit Hot!) Love how on task this man is…smart, determined, and resolved. Awesome, awesome man!

The President, his administration, NATO did a great job. Congrats to the President, calculated (what some call timid) and smart > brash and stupid
