THE MESSAGE HAS NEVER BEEN OUT ‘ENOUGH’ ON PRESIDENT OBAMA’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS. SINCE HE TOOK THE OATH OF OFFICE I HAVE NOT SEEN DEMS. STAND UP AS STRONG AS THEY COULD FOR THIS MAN! HE’S BEEN FIGHTING ALONE MOST OF THE TIME DURING HIS PRESIDENCY…I HOPE THE DEMS. FIGHT LIKE HELL FOR HIM IN THIS ELECTION! HE DESERVES THAT MUCH!
He really was great. I don’t always agree with him and I am still scratching my head at his weird Ron Paul endorsement, but I appreciate how he clearly listed PBO’s accomplishments and called out the whiny emoprogs, whiny leftie bloggers, and whiny pro-left for the pile of crap they’ve leveled at a transformative President. It was a nice segment to watch because Chris was marginally quiet and allowed Sully free rein to just speak the truth.
Exactly ut, the best part was that Tweety let Andrew have his say without being interrupted. That’s what made the interview so awesome. The segments where Andrew was making his points were long and full of details. He got it all out beautifully. You rarely hear that kind of advocacy on cable. That video must go viral. Everyone needs to see it. He just makes sense. The media firewall was seriously compromised today by none other than Andrew Sullivan.
This is an excellent point. Anyone believe that an official surrogate of the Obama campaign would be allowed to speak this long without being interrupted by right wing talking points from the host?
Oh, that was just wonderful to hear. I feel the same way. You get health reform enacted. Something previous presidents have been unable to do. And the liberal whine and cry about the public option. There is really something warped and twisted about people who get 80% of an important liberal initiative and all they can do is complain about the 20% they did not get. I was out of my seat when Andrew called these folks out for being children. Grow up already.
Hey Ladyhawke, my fellow C-span watcher I wish the emoprogs and PL who incessantly whine about not having the public option would watch the C-SPAN Seattle Townhall event with MIT economics professor Jonathan Gruber a liberal Democrat who helped craft Romneycare and Obamacare and listen to him outline how bloody fantastic ACA is. How the lack of a public option doesn’t detract from the transformative nature of the law and how we are pretty much on our way to a version of single payer/universal healthcare due to PBO fighting tooth and nail to get ACA passed. It infruriates me when seemingly educated people don’t take the time to fact check all sides of an issue before spewing verbal diarrhea from their collective pie holes.
Indeed! That C-SPAN event was quite enlightening. I think the problem with “the emoprogs and PL” is that they blindly follow their leaders without thinking. By that I mean such leaders as: Jane Hamsher, Glen Greenwald, Adam Greene, Markos, Keith Olbermann, Michael Moore, Cenk Uygur, etc., as well as some otherwise reasonable people like Paul Krugman, Robert Reich and, now and then, Rachel Maddow. In addition, there are many disgruntled Clinton loyalists who have never gotten over the fact that President Obama won the election and is compiling a record of achievement that may well eclipse Bill Clinton’s record.
I am only three years younger than VP Biden. I distinctly remember how monumental the passage of limited Medicare was. So, like VP Biden said, the passage of ACA was a Big F Deal for me! What President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, Leader Reid, and the Democratic majority in Congress did in passing ACA was historic! All this knit picking about the public option can never diminish what was accomplished. Look, as a student of history I still knit pick the flawed U.S. Constitution that somehow legitimized slavery; Lincoln’s limited Emancipation Proclamation that did not free slaves in states loyal to the United States; and, FDR’s Social Security Act that excluded Agricultural and Domestic workers. But, compared to the alternative of doing nothing, I still think that we would not be where we are to day if it hadn’t been for those flawed foundations that left room for more improvements in the future.
Crit Luallen says if she runs statewide again it ‘would be for governor’
By Ryan Alessi| December 29, 2011
As two-term state Auditor Crit Luallen finishes up her tenure this week, she already is being courted by her fellow Democrats to prepare to run for something else, such as U.S. Senate. But Luallen has her eye on a different office. “My real skills and abilities are at the state level … I really have more background and experience and ability in dealing with state policy and state budget matters,” Luallen said.
Luallen said she still hasn’t made a decision about her political future but will decide her intentions — specifically about running in that the U.S. Senate race — before the end of 2012. But she said the gridlock in Washington — and McConnell’s role in that as a member of leadership — provides “an opportunity for an opponent who has strength and credentials.”
As a Kentuckian who is ashamed of my 2 senators…McConnell and Paul, I can wholeheartedly endorse Crit Luallen for Senator!
No doubt she’d be a great governor, but would also be great in Washington. She’s been marvelous as state auditor, done more
than anyone I can remember in this position, and has a strong backing in the state. We need someone very strong to go against
McConnell, and I think she fills that bill:)

Okay folks I did a bit of snooping around that enigmatic “Tea Party for Obama” site, and I noticed a few things.
1. There is a link to “donate” but it is associated with Mitt Romney and not President Obama. There is no donate link that takes you to any portal affiliated with PBO.
2. Secondly, it appears as though they recently joined Twitter (not clear when exactly) but their Twitter handle is @TeaPartyforObam
3. They are following 12 accounts on Twitter listed here:
edshow (Ed Schultz)
oreillyfactor (Bill O’Reilly)
billmaher (Bill Maher)
maddow (Rachel Maddow MSNBC)
hannity (Sean Hannity)
barackobama (Barack Obama)
republicanGOP (The Republican Party)
RNC (RNC)
thedemocrats (The Democrats)
ourCountryPAC (Tea Party Express)
TPPatriots (Tea Party Patriots)
michelleobama (Michelle Obama)
4. Three individuals are following them (I don’t know any of them; one describes herself as pro-Obama among other things).
I did send David Axelrod a tweet alerting him to the site. We will see how that goes
hopefruit2, My favorite detective, Columbo, would be so proud. Thanks for doing that research. That’s what I was waiting for. Who set up the site and when. Nicely done. I knew there was something fishy going on. There were misspellings, odd phrasing, and mysterious requests for donations. Very suspicious indeed.
May be a trojan horse site. We saw what happened with Arianna and others who seemed to jump on the Obama bandwagon only to show their true un-reconstructed selves soon after the inauguration. When it comes to donations, it is always best to go to the source. Thanks for the cool I-spy routine.
Thank you hopefruit2 for your detective work. I think this site is extremely suspicious. I don’t know about any one else but there is absolutely no way I would donate even a penny to this site. OFA needs to investigate them and alert people who support the President about the legitimacy of this site. As far as I am concerned (and I did visit the site) the blog seems to be a sleek place aimed at taking advantage of Obama supporters by pretending to support the President.
A leading House Democrat hammered Mitt Romney on Monday for his positions on illegal immigration.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Capitol Hill’s most vocal proponent of immigrant rights, said Romney, the front-runner in the GOP presidential primaries, has “gone way too far” to cater to conservatives on the thorny issue — a move that will backfire in states with significant Latino populations, the Illinois Democrat warned.
“There is no route to the White House that does not go through a Latino neighborhood. Any winner in either party needs a significant proportion of Latino voters,” Gutierrez said on a press call. “When you say you want millions of us to leave the country … we will vote against you.”
Good catch, amk He’s been a whiner about the President not doing enough for the Latino/Hispanic communities. Rather than whine and complain, I’m not sure what he has done to move his agenda forward…and get arrested. I’m sympathetic to his needs and concerns, but he spends WAY too much time bashing PBO, and not enough time being constructive.
Rick Santorum is getting very sick watching this beautiful mulitracial choir….Quick call the EMS squad! HE won’t be able to debate tonight if this goes on much longer….
I would say millions all together when you consider how pundits/magazines are retweeted and used as a source. Not to mention that Newsweek is found in a lot of waiting rooms.
Whatever the numbers are, one thing is for sure is that the people in the Beltway will read the article or at least will hear about it. The pundits are so glued to the 24 h news cycle they NEVER see the long game. I hope this article can have some effect on them, change their narrative even. One can dream…
Can the Internet be a Door to Increased Latin@ and African American Participation?
By Jessica Lavariega Monforti & Jose Marichal
While it’s too early to say anything conclusive, it is possible that the Internet provides a unique pathway to engagement for historically marginalized groups. The ability to use on-line tools to gather information, build social capital and mobilize might be most important for those who have not been able to do these things through traditional means.
We do not suggest that creating a Facebook account for every Latino or African American in the United States will be a pathway to increased civic engagement for these groups, but our research suggests that the Internet can help forge a path toward increased democratic engagement.
Immigrants, Latinos and Asians Contribute More to Your State Than You Think
Published at 1:07 am, January 14, 2012
When people think of immigration in America, they likely call to mind fear-fueled myths perpetuated by immigration restrictionists, like “immigrants are stealing American jobs” or “immigrants are a drain on our system.” Today, however, the Immigration Policy Center published 50 state fact sheets updated to show just how much immigrants, Latinos and Asians contribute to our country as consumers, taxpayers, workers, entrepreneurs and voters—facts state legislators would do well to consider before passing legislation that drives immigrants, undocumented and documented, from their state.
Legislators in Alabama passed one of the most extreme anti-immigrant laws (HB 56) last year in response to the state’s “immigration problem.” According to the Pew Hispanic Center, Alabama’s undocumented population was 2.5% of total population (or 120,000 people) in 2010—lower than in 22 other states. While Alabama’s undocumented may be smaller than other states, however, their economic contributions are not. Alabama’s undocumented contributed more than $130 million in state and local taxes in 2010.
Love Sullivan’s article. I will be buying multiple issues of Newsweek and be passing them out. Romney has been in the spot light because of the primaries, he is the “hot” canidate, but like Sullivan stated…Obama plays the long game. Let the repugs crown their nominee, Obama has yet to start, he is waiting patiently to have their offical nominee. And yes…I do believe 45-48% of the American population are DUMB, but 52% can give us 4 more years…lets just be sure they can vote.
Thank you Mr. Sullivan!
Timing is important in lots of things in life. Sports and politics come to mind in particular. You don’t want to put out your heavy duty points in the beginning when they will lose impact, but serve them up when they count the most. IMO
My goodness what a powerful performance by the freedom ring choir..the young lady with the amazing voice took me to church on that one ! What a voice..truly a moving performance
Speaking of the debate tonight, anyone else think it’s a weird idea to have a debate on MLK Day or on any holiday actually.
Also, what’s the over under on FoxNews actually asking a question involving MLK? I’m expecting a softball question like the ones children are given when asked about MLK. Ya know “what does MLK mean to you” or some such bs.
Rev Al said maybe they’ll ask about the Confederate flag as it pertains to SC. It’s FauxNews though, so I doubt it.
Yes, it’s weird – but predictable, I’m afraid. I’ve been watching all of the cow dung R debates to date, to see what they’re up to, but I am skipping this one on FOX. How dare they.
Plus, I hate seeing fake people paying “lip service” to anything, and tonight they’ll be out in force doing that. Under the Confederate flag, that is.
But let’s remember two of the people who have been on the side of right in this country: Dr. King and President Obama. Two of the many, of any race or gender, who have contributed much to our having a better country than we once had. I’m on their side of any debate.
“Obama administration to make drug companies disclose money paid to doctors” – By Eric W. Dolan
Monday, January 16, 2012
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The Obama administration plans to establish new rules requiring pharmaceutical companies to disclose the payments they make to doctors, according to the New York Times.
The new rules are being issued under the new health care law and will make pharmaceutical companies report money they have given to doctors for research, consulting, speaking, travel and entertainment. The payment data will be made available to the public online.
Companies that fail to comply with the new rule could be subject to a penalty up to $10,000 for each payment they fail to report.

10 Years Later, No Child Left Behind Ignores Plenty
By Julianne Hing|
No Child Left Behind turned 10 years old this week, and few threw it a joyous birthday. The landmark law called for all U.S. schoolchildren to be proficient in math and reading by the year 2014, but it was hardly successful. It turns out that idealistic goals attached to punitive sanctions levied without adequate support aren’t an equation for success. The law explicitly highlighted the racialized achievement gap, but set about ameliorating it with a set of punitive measures based on competition and other market principles.
Evangelical Ballot Stuffing
Patrick Caldwell| January 16, 2012
An endorsement from a group of 150 social conservatives over the weekend should have been a huge gain for Rick Santorum’s campaign. Now, tales of dissent among the conservative rank and file are already starting to leak out. According to the Washington Times, a “civil war” is already under way following the Texas meeting:
The meeting was called to avoid a continued division within social conservatives’ ranks. But in back-and-forth emails, Protestant fundamentalist leaders who attended—most of them backing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to be the anti-Romney candidate—are accusing Catholic participants of conniving to rig the vote. They said they were conned into leaving after the second ballot on Saturday. They said pro-Santorum participants held a third ballot which Mr. Santorum won with more than 70 percent of the vote—far higher than the nine-vote margin he won on the first ballot.

Note: Bill McKibben is making false claims with regard to the President’s position on the XL Pipeline. The POTUS stated that the project would be delayed so that a thorough review could be made–after which he would make a final decision. PERIOD.~
White House spokesman Jay Carney declined to say whether the deadline would force the Obama administration to reject the project, but he reiterated concerns about a hastened environmental review. “There is a reason why this process has within it the duration required to properly review all the different aspects of a project like this, and to weigh all the different criteria,” Carney told reporters. He said an alternate route had not been mapped out for the pipeline through Nebraska, where environmental concerns are rampant. He said the state of Nebraska needed six to nine months to do its own environmental assessment.
Bill McKibben, who has led protests against the pipeline at the White House, said on Thursday his group 350.org will hold protests against members of Congress who have taken campaign contributions from large oil companies, both in Washington and at their home districts. “Right now the biggest problem seems not to be the Obama administration, who seem forthright in their promise to reject the pipeline; it’s Big Oil and its bought-and-paid-for fleet of congressmen who seem determined to find some way to force approval without review,” McKibben said.
FLOTUS looks stunning! J’adore her outfit. PBO looks mighty fine too.
Heads Up TOD: First Lady Michelle Obama’s ICarly guest appearance is about to air on Nickolodeon. Tonight 7:30PM ET/ 6:30PM CT. In about three minutes.
OMG, I was doing chores and made it back only to to catch the end of that fantastic group. Oh my, they were great!!!!! I hate that I missed it. I hope there is a video at some point.
It was a beautiful concert with a beautiful ending –chants of 4 more Years…
The Let Freedom Ring Choir with Music Director, Rev. Nolan Williams Jr. is really good.
Maybe they’re are just waiting and keeping their powder dry until PBO have a nominee.
And Sullivan was FANTASTIC–I have never heard anybody put things so clearly into context of Pres. Obama’s outstanding accomplishments. Sullivan needs to be a consultant or something with the Obama team. What a breath of fresh air to hear what he said on TV.
Though I have a teeny-tiny issue with Tweety/Sullivan on this one.
Here’s my take on the situation. Valerie Jarret, David Axelrod, VP Biden, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz or even PBO himself could have gone on Tweety and said exactly the same thing about PBO’s record that Sullivan just said and their words wouldn’t have nearly the same impact. In fact probably the stark opposite. Those on the right would have jumped and attacked them as being partisian liberal shills and Chicago cronies…and those on the left would have condemed the administration for “attacking his base” or “punching hippies”
There is nothing that Sully said tonight that I haven’t heard in one form or another at various points throughout the last three years by different members of the administration. That’s not to say that I don’t appreciate Sully’s input, I think it DID make a significance difference because of who he is. Sullivan is a conservative who is ostensibly independent of the OBama administration, even though he has expressed support for PBO at various times. He has also criticized him harshly – even to the chagrin of PBO’s ardent supporters such as myself. So of course, when he comes out with an essay like the one he wrote in Newsweek, people LISTEN and HEED what he says because he’s not part of the adminstration, and while he supports PBO, he’s not considered an O’bot by any means.
‘There is nothing that Sully said tonight that I haven’t heard in one form or another at various points throughout the last three years by different members of the administration.’
True, Hf, but the fact that ‘Sullivan is a conservative…independent of the Obama administration’ adds weight to this analysis..at least in the minds of some. I also think that in the march towards November, Sullivan’s Newsweek piece is timely and valuable. Though Sullivan obviously didn’t plan it, this dialogue now has taken some of the attention away from Huntsman’s meaningless endorsement, and it may just open the eyes of a few conservatives who are only now waking up.
Chipsticks – Thank you so much for the link to ‘Let Freedom Ring’. I don’t know how you do it. The announcer said to please stay seated until the President leaves the building, so I clicked back to TOD and you already had photos of the President standing to leave and greeting people. You’re quite amazing!
Four more years, Four more years, four more years. That was so great as the President and First Lady got up to leave the crowd started chanting 4 more years, 4 more years.
Yup! That made my night. I think instead of Press On…. ours should be Four More Years. The rhythm is much like Yes We Can! Chanting Four More Years is a magical endorsement that shows satisfaction and desire to continue on in a way Press On does not.
thanks df, I’m only on my fourth viewing. Freakin amazing. I can’t get enough. Andrew Sullivan puts his colleagues and the MSM to shame. They let Mitt Romney and the Republican Party spout lies and make stuff up ad nauseum and nobody bothers to correct them or challenge their outlandish claims. You can just feel the frustration from Andrew. That’s exactly how we all feel. It’s infuriating that journalistic integrity is taking the back burner.
I was eager to watch Hardball after reading the comments above, and boy oh boy. . . it was MAHvelous!!
Thank you Andrew. . . that was the best interview I have seen for a long time!

Remember that Motown at the Whitehouse at on PBS at 10pm
Kasai mentioned a tweet about this in the previous thread:
Protesters, mostly peaceful, rally outside [Michigan Gov] Snyder’s subdivision to decry emergency manager law
——————————————-
“It started out as a peaceful protest Monday with more than 1,000 people gathering at Parker Mill Park near Ann Arbor to rally against the state’s emergency manager law.
There were helicopters buzzing overhead, flags, signs and the familiar chants of the Occupy Wall Street protests: “This is what Democracy looks like,” And “Rick-tator; Dictator.”
The crowd closed down Geddes Road in Superior Township as they marched the half-mile to Geddes Glen, the gated subdivision where Gov. Rick Snyder lives.
But once at the subdivision of million dollar homes, the protest split in two: the group led by a contingent of Detroit religious leaders and another, fueled by By Any Means Necessary, a militant group that uses confrontational tactics.
It was an uneasy protest, as tensions grew and the group led by religious leaders quickly left to avoid the more radical element of the protest, but not before Rev. Charles Williams, who led the religious group of about 200 people from Detroit, had the chance to talk with Dennis Muchmore, Snyder’s chief of staff…”
Glad I actually watched this as it was confusing to me at first. The only sister I knew of was his half sister by his Mom’s marriage to the Indonesian step Dad. I have forgotten her name (maybe Maya) but she lives in Hawaii. PBO probably has lots of half siblings in Africa on his late Dad’s side since his Dad had multiple marriages. It almost seems like those relations need to be titled differently like distant half siblings or something when you really have only seen your Dad for such a short time period and only just met your siblings and relatives. This take without the background info almost supports the birther and conspiracy theories.
See the GOP Gen. Assembly is trying to pass new voter ID law there and stop early voting. It’s going to be tight there again. Turn out is key. Hope Holder can do something about all these GOP controlled states which are trying to restrict voting, eliminate Dem voters.
This key from article: “More than the candidate running against President Obama, it will be who he can turn out in North Carolina,” Roberts said. “If it’s a replica of 2008, I think President Obama can win North Carolina if he gets the turnout level and turnout demographics he got the last time around. Some of that depends on what the state legislature does about the voter identification laws and if they decide to curb early voting.”
O.K!!! I can’t keep up. Chips can you pleasssssse do what you and only you do best and find some photos and videos?? Pretty please with sugar on top??

AN INDICTMENT OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA
Andrew Sullivan’s Newsweek article and his appearance on Hardball are an indictment of the GOP and the msm media. Just listen to what Mitt Romney said at the beginning of the video. Then listen to what Andrew Sullivan said. Nothing that Romney said is true. It just makes Mitt Romney sound completely out of touch with reality and dishonest. And it shines a light on the MSM who have abdicated their responsibility TO TELL THE TRUTH AND LET THE CHIPS FALL WHERE THEY MAY. Andrew’s article should be the norm not the exception.
From Pew Research Center’s Project For Excellence in Journalism:
1. Journalism’s first obligation is to the truth
Democracy depends on citizens having reliable, accurate facts put in a meaningful context. Journalism does not pursue truth in an absolute or philosophical sense, but it can–and must–pursue it in a practical sense. This “journalistic truth” is a process that begins with the professional discipline of assembling and verifying facts. Then journalists try to convey a fair and reliable account of their meaning, valid for now, subject to further investigation. Journalists should be as transparent as possible about sources and methods so audiences can make their own assessment of the information. Even in a world of expanding voices, accuracy is the foundation upon which everything else is built–context, interpretation, comment, criticism, analysis and debate. The truth, over time, emerges from this forum. As citizens encounter an ever greater flow of data, they have more need–not less–for identifiable sources dedicated to verifying that information and putting it in context.
Those nine journalism principles are strict, and they have not been used the last 30 or so years…..I’d say since Reagan, the press has been bought and has been a conduit for partisan views, not news. The idea of the”liberal media” has become laughable. Each “reporter” seems to think he/she has to give his/her puny opinion, not just report the news. I’ve noticed this whenever a “whitehouse” reporter speaks….they don’t just tell us what happens, but have to give some idea of what it “means” IF something does or doesn’t happen. They are all op-ed writers.
Maybe the situation had to get this bad for people to admit what it has become.
In today’s atmosphere, Andrew Sullivan was actually courageous. Forty years ago, this was more the norm. I’m sure he’ll get brickbats from many sources. But, he just puts facts out there and lets them speak for themselves. He also states what he felt about something, a criticism he made, and how he learned he was wrong: the president was working all the time, behind the scenes.
THAT is how governing is done…..not on TV shows.
A healthy article, hopefully it can change some of the phony journalists’ thinking. The thing is, as is well know, facts have a liberal bias….(I forget who originally said that, but it is so.) That’s why the far right wing yells UNFAIR when facts are presented.

I have always loved Mr. Andrew Sullivan, I’ corresponded with him during the 2008 campaign; always gracious.
A MUST SEE: Andrew Sullivan was just on Hardball with Tweety and he hit it out of the park. It was his article in Newsweek. Amazing
I scratched my head at his glorification of Reagan – with his “welfare queen”, union busting and the beginning of the demise of the middle class.
PUNCTURING THE MEDIA FIREWALL
Exactly ut, the best part was that Tweety let Andrew have his say without being interrupted. That’s what made the interview so awesome. The segments where Andrew was making his points were long and full of details. He got it all out beautifully. You rarely hear that kind of advocacy on cable. That video must go viral. Everyone needs to see it. He just makes sense. The media firewall was seriously compromised today by none other than Andrew Sullivan.
This is an excellent point. Anyone believe that an official surrogate of the Obama campaign would be allowed to speak this long without being interrupted by right wing talking points from the host?
Right, it is so rare that this amount of truth gets out on the airwaves in such big chunks without the GOP talking points being thrown in.
Andrew sullivan just hit it out the park on Chris matthews. He called out both sides great interview.
Oh I gotta watch it online…Andrew is sometimes a bit out there…but he always finds his way home
yes or watch the repea to the show. He called them all out.
I want to know what Tweety said!
He was impressed and called Andrew a genius.
He’s bipolar. I swear.
He was also wondering why the Democrats don’t toot their own horns more.
This was the first time tweety did’nt interrupt. LOL!
Well, your comments raised my curiosity level so I went in search of it at the nbc site – Here you go!

If one more liberal holler the public option i will scream. Mr. sullivan so will i.
Hey Ladyhawke, my fellow C-span watcher
I wish the emoprogs and PL who incessantly whine about not having the public option would watch the C-SPAN Seattle Townhall event with MIT economics professor Jonathan Gruber a liberal Democrat who helped craft Romneycare and Obamacare and listen to him outline how bloody fantastic ACA is.
The reference to 50 year olds with ponytails was hilarious.
Perfect.
And the 60 and 70 year olds with ponytails. Like fingernails on slate.
Thanks for the heads up about Sullivan. Can’t wait to see the footage – well I will watch it on the re-run of Hardball!
sister make sure you had tweety looking forwards. LOL! It also was a slap to him.
SULLIVAN SAID THINGS ABOUT THIS PRESIDENT THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAID A LONG TIME AGO!
I don’t see a link either to the ‘live performance’. I’m getting the idea that live means – in person, as opposed to live streaming possible.
“possibly” not possible.
Ah, you’re probably right sherijr …. looks like you have to be there
no wait now, try this link: http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/millennium/schedule.html It says come back at 6PM ET to view the show.. so maybe it’ll work.
SULLIVAN DIDNT EVEN GET TO GAY RIGHTS! THAT ALONE HAS BEEN TRANSFORMATIVE!
And he is gay with HIV.
Thank you about the concert information Chipsticks

Read more: http://mycn2.com/politics/crit-luallen-says-if-she-runs-statewide-again-it-would-be-for-governor#comment
Or Explore the Arts at kennedycenter.org for today’s concert.
Uh-oh, I guess we wont be seeing him on MSNBC much more before Nov.
Aw:
HA! They’re finally catching on?
Chips how do I copy/paste a tweet to include the white background and border? I’m stumped.
At the bottom where it has the time click on it and copy the location and then post it here.
That is HI-larious!!!
Watch these performances free at the Kennedy Center or online. Chips whe you click on “online” it takes you to link below. Maybe it will start at 6pm. I’ll keep checking…
http://www.kennedy-center.org/explorer/artists/?entity_id=14982&source_type=B
Thanks defytheodds, will keep checking.
Yes, just beginning now with choir filing in.
Hi Gloria, do you have a link to the page that’s showing it? Thanks.
http://www.kennedy-center.org/explorer/live/?id=M4905
Chips — here you go: http://www.kennedy-center.org/explorer/live/?id=M4905
You’re a gem, thank you!
Oh sweet Lord, is there REALLY another debate tonight?????
OMG! Kill me now.
BTW, Rev Al should be real good tonight.
Okay folks I did a bit of snooping around that enigmatic “Tea Party for Obama” site, and I noticed a few things.
1. There is a link to “donate” but it is associated with Mitt Romney and not President Obama. There is no donate link that takes you to any portal affiliated with PBO.
2. Secondly, it appears as though they recently joined Twitter (not clear when exactly) but their Twitter handle is @TeaPartyforObam
3. They are following 12 accounts on Twitter listed here:
edshow (Ed Schultz)
oreillyfactor (Bill O’Reilly)
billmaher (Bill Maher)
maddow (Rachel Maddow MSNBC)
hannity (Sean Hannity)
barackobama (Barack Obama)
republicanGOP (The Republican Party)
RNC (RNC)
thedemocrats (The Democrats)
ourCountryPAC (Tea Party Express)
TPPatriots (Tea Party Patriots)
michelleobama (Michelle Obama)
4. Three individuals are following them (I don’t know any of them; one describes herself as pro-Obama among other things).
I did send David Axelrod a tweet alerting him to the site. We will see how that goes
I looked a but harder….that “bus” pic looks fake. Oh wells….they weren’t getting a dollar out of me anyway.
Our very own little sleuth! I thought it sounded suspect, but let’s see if Axe says anything about this….
Attack Watch, too? hopefruit?
Just did. Thanks df.
You bet…thank YOU!
I REST MY CASE ……
hopefruit2, My favorite detective, Columbo, would be so proud.
Well done, hf!!
FYI …
Yes We Can … DO More Together – We Must!
So…that must have been the prez
its on! thanks for this Chips. here’s a link in case folks are still searching: http://www.kennedy-center.org/explorer/live/?id=M4905
Yes, that choir is awesome
Oh yes they were.. and love the invocation by the young woman- stirring.
For those that didn’t catch the Andrew Sullivan article on the last thread…it is a MUST READ!!!

PPP tweet has Obama up big against Romney in their first poll of the year!
ppppolls PublicPolicyPolling
Our poll tomorrow has Obama with his best national standing against Romney since May…good way to start the year
I think that is a first for PPP
Maybe they actually polled minorities!
HAVING TROUBLE WITH K. CENTER STAYING ON!
“When you say you want millions of us to leave the country … we will vote against you.”
http://thehill.com/homenews/house/204359-rep-gutierrez-rips-romney-for-immigration-hard-line
Bad move by Robney. This issue will make him lose. He cannot win on far right white people only!
Correct. Ergo, he can not win.
O don’t worry. Romney will most flip flop on that issue too.
so will gutierrez..
“Any winner in either party ” ? WTF does h mean by that.
Good catch, amk
He’s been a whiner about the President not doing enough for the Latino/Hispanic communities. Rather than whine and complain, I’m not sure what he has done to move his agenda forward…and get arrested. I’m sympathetic to his needs and concerns, but he spends WAY too much time bashing PBO, and not enough time being constructive.
GOOD NOW! THIS IS MIGHTY AWESOME…GOOSEBUMP TIME!
Thank you HopeFruit ..Hmmm.. I will be looking out on Tweeter myself..
Oh my, just listening to the choir and hearing the words, I get chills and tears in my eyes.
Absolutely gorgeous Marilyn.
Freedom’s wheels are rolling…Let Freedom Ring Choir sounds great…
Rick Santorum is getting very sick watching this beautiful mulitracial choir….Quick call the EMS squad! HE won’t be able to debate tonight if this goes on much longer….
He is also probably worried about what their sexual lives might be.
How much reach does Sullivan have @ daily beast? How much readership does Newsweek have?
Newsweek is ranked #51 in US magazines with a circulation of roughly 1.5 million.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_magazines_by_circulation
I would say millions all together when you consider how pundits/magazines are retweeted and used as a source. Not to mention that Newsweek is found in a lot of waiting rooms.
Newsweek circulation as of 6/30/2011 (post merger): 1,530,486 (total paid & verified)
http://abcas3.accessabc.com/ecirc/magtitlesearch.asp
Numbers for online readership of The Daily Beast are a bit more elusive. I’ll keep looking though.

That was quite the statement from Target. I thought Target was owned by someone who supported the Tea Party.
Did you guys hear the ovation for POTUS and FLOTUS got when they came in?
Yes I Did!

That was just a brilliant observation. I can’t wait to see that interview again.
Yes, Obama has an ideal temperament for a president.
Spot on!!! Plus his work ethic. Plus his good looks. Plus his terrific wife.
This was by far the most important observation by Andrew Sullivan!
Sullivan!
You made me laugh, in a way, thinking of all of the copies of Newsweek old Willard and his team will be buying, to hide in car trunks!

Way to piss off “the BLAHS.” Tavis, Corny, Cain, etc. are you listening? Take note.
The Blahs (or other melanin-enriched people) that wanna hear those fools on MLK Day, don’t give a flip about what MLK stood for anyway.
Yes it’s weird and disrespectful. There were requests for the debate not to be held it on MLK holiday…
but we’re talking GOP & Fox News…

Great pics, Chips. Thanks so much!!
Is that Rev. Al with PBO and MO?
It is L3! I didn’t even bother including the captions from Daylife and AP, they didn’t name any of the people in the photos.
I see Eleanor Holmes Norton between PBO and Rev in one of them.
In addition to Rev Al, I see Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton and Alexis Herman
Thanks. I thought it was him in the first picture you posted but I wasn’t sure until you posted the second picture.
L3, yes indeed that is Rev. Al. Who is the lady in the white pantsuit, she should seem excited to see FLOTUS.
Oh what great pictures. And there is our own Rev Al!!!!
Rev Al has racked up some miles today; DC breakfast this am; Harlem this afternoon; and back to DC this evening…

That was FANTASTIC! Thank you so much for letting us know about that Chips! You ROCK!!
No, no, no, YOU rock Dudette!!!!!!!
Girl, you are too modest. Take that bow, you’ve earned it!!
Chants of ’4 more years’ erupt at Kennedy Center as President Obama and family get up to leave.
Is there a rerun of Hardball?
yea BWD…it’s on now.
Sallivan is totally right about PBO political team. I’m very unhappy with them.
Thank you Mr. Sullivan!
Hardball schedule is early (at least in Atlanta) :
Original broadcast at 5PM, then repeat at 7PM and 2AM
But you can watch it online NOW: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/

Yea, I saw ir. Thanks so much. I needed that today.
Yes Chips….I was screaming it in front of my laptop!. “4 more years”. #presson Mr President!
Wow, Chica. You are fast!!!! I don’t think the sound techs expected that. Four more years!! Four more years!!
Chips, as Jackie Gleason used to say “Baby, you’re the GREATEST!!
Ah, my pleasure Sara, thank you! What a wonderful night!
Four more years, Four more years, four more years. That was so great as the President and First Lady got up to leave the crowd started chanting 4 more years, 4 more years.
Then I said, 44 more years, 44 more years…… Oh wait…
Yup! That made my night. I think instead of Press On…. ours should be Four More Years. The rhythm is much like Yes We Can! Chanting Four More Years is a magical endorsement that shows satisfaction and desire to continue on in a way Press On does not.
I just got finished shoutin’ in my living room.
STUDY WAR NO MORE!! STUDY WAR NO MORE! I’m gonna lay down my burden, DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE, WOOOOO hoooooooo.
That was fun!!!
Tune in to Nickelodeon now…..FLOTUS makes appearance tonite..it’s ON!
http://video.msnbc.msn.com/hardball/46016860#46016860 Video of Hardball tonight with Sully.
You superstar
oh, stop:) YOU ARE!
thanks df, I’m only on my fourth viewing.
Well, I think we ought to send Sully some love. That’s been needed to be said, by someone other than US, for a long time!
I was eager to watch Hardball after reading the comments above, and boy oh boy. . . it was MAHvelous!!
Thank you Andrew. . . that was the best interview I have seen for a long time!
Are you guys watching iCarly? The First Lady’s gonna be on.
iMeet The First Lady is now trending on Twitter!
Yes I’m watching ICarly, the SS is in the room. Waiting for FLOTUS to enter.
iAmWatching, too! The First Lady just appeared in a Joining Forces commercial. She’s so adorable.

Oh, congratulations! Off to follow you on Twitter. @JOBoomr
Just added you! Thanks!
Outstanding Mac!! Glad to hear about the good things y’all are doing in NC.
By the way, I see the “Nupe” in your twitter name
Are you hooked into any of the 1911United (http://1911united.com/) activities?
It so awesome to see the Kappas and Ques working to re-elect PBO!
It’s so awesome… (fat finger typing … sorry)
I follow the group on facebook/twitter. Looking forward to when they hit NC. My local chapter is planning voter registration drives in the coming months too. Got to #reelectPBO!
Woohoo! That’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout. Go ‘head NC!
I live outside ATL now, but went to UNC-CH. Proud that my peeps have our awesome President’s back!
Great minds think alike. Note to self, scroll down a bit before you ask a question…
It’s all love in the TOD family!
Fantastic! Way to go! Keep us up to date!
Will do! Thanks!
Following you on twitter.
It took me a while to come to twitter, but now I love it.
I put in a request to follow you on Twitter, too, NUPE. I’m miglsi on Twitter. I’m iin Georgia, and I know we southerners have got to work hard to turn our states blue and voter registration is a key step in the process!
MacIII, I’m going to guess by your twitter name that you are a Kappa. Give us some scoop about the 1911United. Do you know what else they have planned?
All I really know is they are fundraising to put boots on the ground in swing states. I’m still learning about all they are trying to do as a group, too.
Wonderful!
Omg!! ICarly is hilarious! Miche is soooo cute!!
Even the fake Secret Service guy was dancing – so cute!
I’ve been “forced” to watch that show other times by grandchildren … first time I actually “enjoyed” it!
Oprah’s Roots Reunion is on OWN now
Thanks I just turned the dvr on for it. I missed it the first time.
I really enjoy FLOTUS on ICarly. What can’t our wonderful First Lady do.
Michelle is buck wild!
iMichelle!!!!
Loved the show. She’s a natural.
Yes she is. FLOTUS now has over 350K on Twitter!
This despicable person who began all the race baiting, who encouraged it, who made it okay for people to show up at her events with stuffed monkeys and racist signs had the nerve to tweet this:
She’s seeking attention; best to ignore…
I hope someone reminded her we did indeed judge her by her flawed character….
I stopped myself
I’m going to ignore that Palin woman.
I agree ignoring and irrevelance is the best with Sarah. She thrives on attention so squelch giving it to her.
Finished watching iCarly featuring FLMO. I didn’t think it was possible to love her more but she was truly amazing. What CAN’T our FLOTUS do??
Obama/BIden2012
meabloom, I agree with you totally.
Hey Y’all, the President was just on the Betty White 90th Birthday celebration. He asked Betty for her long form birth certificate! Hilarious!! I LOVE HIM!!!
Really?!? Where are you watching this? OMG…POTUS & FLOTUS are EVERYWHERE
NBC
Awww, that’s so cute! I forgot that was on tonight too.
Betty White is one smart cookie. Loved her since MTM show.
MTM, one of my favs along with Michele Pfeifer. and Susan Srandon.
Oh no—I missed that—-had it on but switched because I wanted to see Gov. O’Malley on Ed. Maybe we can get a clip of that too. Lots of stuff today. I can’t keep up. Relying on poor chips again.
WHAT THE? WHERE? IS THERE A CLIP?
I missed it someone get the tape. I remember Betty on a late night show talking about how sexy Senator Obama was. it was soo funny!
It’s on NBC — gotta mean that’ll be available online at some point. [Fingers-crossed!] I’ll keep an eye out!
It was really funny! Then he put in his earphones and started bobbing his head to the Golden Girls theme song and put a picture of her on the table behind his desk where all the pics of Mrs. O and the girls are. TOO CUTE!!!
Oh, I want to see it!
Me too. Get on it, chips.
THATS HILARIOUS!
I saw that and laughed. Sorta laughed anyway. Fl. is not pleased with its loony-tunes gov. Can’t believe he ever got elected with that medicare fraud past. It was a mind-boggler.
Lotsa bolting the door after the horse has fled thingy in 2010 amurika. MI & FL are my deepest disappointments with the american voters
RICK SCOTT IS ONE REASON WHY PBO WILL WIN FLORDIA GOING AWAY
All he has to do is tie Rick Scott business man to mitt Romney business man. Easy peasy!
I really hope so, halo. He needs FL.
Prez and Mrs. Prez are all over the place, hey isn’t there some kind of debate going on tonight?
9PM livestreamed on the FOX NEWS website. Not televised.
Are you sure hopefruit2, cuz my cable guide says it’s on teevee.
And you are RIGHT! It is televised – thanks for the correction Don. My apologies.
It’s on Fox News and I tivoed it. Ed’s Show is live after Lawrence O’Donnell and it is about the debate with clips from it.
Chips, Thank you so much for that concert and TOD family thank you for reminding me about ICarly. It is the first time I watched that show. FLOTUS ia a good actress.
Remember that Motown at the Whitehouse at on PBS at 10pm
socasweet, there isn’t anything FLOTUS can’t do. She was great on ICarly.

Chipsticks I found this short video of the President’s sister Auma talking about her brother.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this Donna!
Thanks Chips. She speaks fluent German as well.
Ooops..I meant Thanks donna!
George is one of Canada’s great interviewers; love him.
This take without the background info almost supports the birther and conspiracy theories.
instead of the word supports it should read feeds…
-Thanks a gazillion!
BWD, you should follow Ben Labolt twitter account. He is the SPOX, and his oppo research is bar none.
Just saying! Check it out!
Santorum may indeed have won the Iowa caucus. Certification will be coming soon. If indeed this is true then this may change the race.

You have to check out this Obama motorcycle. Someone twitted it. I haven’t figured out how to put a tweet here. I’ll go back and find the post. Or could someone please repeat it for me.

Checkout more principles here……
http://www.journalism.org/resources/principles
Lawd, just getting in and it looks like I missed my PBO and FLOTUS all over the t.v.
. Will have to depend on replays….
.
I’m so sad that I can’t see any of the pictures/videos. I haven’t had this problem before!
