    South Carolina’s primary—the first in the South—is this Saturday. And even though it’s a Republican primary, Democrats have been on the ground across the state all week, holding the GOP candidates accountable and building up the President’s Palmetto State operation.

    We kicked today off in Charleston with a press conference with our chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former chair and South Carolinian Don Fowler, and South Carolina state Rep. Bakari Sellers, who called out Mitt Romney for refusing to release his tax returns—a precedent that every presidential candidate has adhered to for decades, including George Romney in 1968.

    Just tuned in to hear them introduce themselves. I find the fakeness of these people, including the moderators (John King) very tiresome. The desire to make it all seem so exciting by the media is so creepy.

    First question about Gingrich’s cheating ways.. I’m betting that was all planned. Gingrich the hypocrite upset about being asked… didn’t he as a President this same question back during Clinton’s admin?? But now he calls it ‘trash’.

      Who said that? No way. John King (of the shaking head forward in affirmation like one of those dolls in your rear view mirror on the car) is the reason I have not watched CNN since he did that interview with Dick Cheney (Darth Vader) right after the inauguration! Newt Gingrich did not have drag President Obama’s name into it. The question had nothing to do with Barack Obama. It wasn’t Obama who did the ABC interview about his ex-wife. That may win Gingrich the nomination in SC, but it will not help in a general election against the President.

    In a word … NO! But I give thanks for those who have the stamina and the nerves to watch and report. Thank you. Each of you. So the subject of Marianne is already out there? Yea. And how dare anyone disparage her story. Just because you were the “first” mistress, that does not mean you don’t think you are the only one for him and he’d never cheat on you (for awhile you think that) and doesn’t her being his mistress when his first wife was sick lend credence to her story now that he cheated on her too and wanted to keep doing it … with her blessing? How sick is that? Especially if now you are touting yourself as a “family values” candidate? I hate them, all of them. I hate the GOP and will be glad when it completely implodes, explodes … whatever. And I think it is getting close!

      I agree it was a stupid error by CNN. CNN should have had it as a question from a “real voter”, not from King himself.

    Romney repeats his usual line of four companies that have created 120,000 jobs, minus 10,000 jobs lost in others place. This is kind of nonsense, since Bain for example only gave Staples (one of the four) about 10% of its start-up capital. So shouldn’t it only take credit for 10% of the jobs?

    But no, Romney goes off onto how he believes in capitalism and how he’s going to “stuff it down [Barack Obama's] throat”. How charming.

Crew than the models in the catalogue do. Most importantly, though, it’s because of her programs fighting childhood obesity and the fact that she always comes across as super poised and very intelligent.

    Last week Mrs. Obama got a Twitter account and I was one of the first to follow her. This started the Google image stalking of Michelle Obama that happens quite often for me. And when I found out it was her birthday today, it seemed a good time to put those Google searches to use…”

      A PRESIDENT NEEDS MORE THAN DEBATING PROWESS

      ===========================

      Newt, on the other hand, is a sharp debater. And his lack of those other attributes, e.g., organization, has, at least for now, been largely offset by his debating prowess.

      But here’s the thing: does being a good debater make you a good president? I can’t see that it does.

    The contrast between whomever “wins” this primary process from the Republicans and President Obama will be CRYSTAL CLEAR, with our President emerging as the reasonable man and the Republican emerging as out of touch.

    oh, and Newt if he’s smart laid the trap for Romney by releasing his tax returns during the debate so you know CNN has to ask about it. it practically a lay-up shot.

    Let’s see if Romney has finally come up with a better answer.

    RIP dear lady. She retired shortly after the Inauguration. Nancy Clarke, White House chief florist, dies http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/nancy-clarke-white-house-chief-florist-dies/2012/01/18/gIQAQmyL9P_story.html

    I had the pleasure of meeting her several times while I was stationed in DC. Additionally, her creations would grace my desk every week that I went to Church. Gentleman from my Church worked @ the White House, and as the arrangements were changed daily back then (don’t recall hearing about excessive spending back then), the “Saturday” flowers would decorate our Church on Sunday, and my desk on Monday… (we were free to take them (minus the container) after service.)
