Just heard on Ed’s show that the teachers in York, PA are voting today on whether to re-open their contract in order to vote on taking a 4% pay cut. …….school day on Wednesday’s will be shortened, no art, music, etc. etc. Seems the R governor is moving lots of education funds to charter schools. Ed has John Nichols on. He said that last year sometime there was a big meeting in DC, sponsored by the American Education ?????? something. Don’t remember what John said……just that he said, “It sounds good, but believe me, it isn’t.” The two main speakers at this conference were Scott Walker and Tom Corbett because they are the two point men for privatizing education. This is CRAZY SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would these people vote “R” is beyond me….I hope people are paying attention and will work hard to never vote an “R” for Gov, Sec. State. and keep a Dem majority in the legislature if they want to be treated fairly. That goes for President, House and Senate.
Remember per Ed Schultz and other folks (the summer of 2010), a lot of people stayed home and didn’t vote to teach President Obama a lesson…this ensured to those “R” victories!
My thing is, when you hear Romney and other prominent Americans wax nostalgic about taking their country back and restoring a mythical America of yesteryear, look what happens when they get in power. Why is their vision of America so impoverished, cramped and diminished? This is not how they grew up, yet they insist that this must be the new normal. In a shot across the bow of the Republicans’ attempt to deem President Obama ineffective, US industrial companies have increased confidence in the US economy.

So much for the conservative talking point that the Obama Administration is bad for domestic oil producers.
All in all, the world’s industrial leaders have growing confidence in America, in spite of Republicans stiff arming the President at every step of the way.
But as the CEO of Caterpillar said, all of this good economic news and progress could grind to a halt if Republicans get their way and restrict spending, move toward austerity, and essentially become like Ireland and England, back into a recession.
I am so glad to see this. I have been wondering why many companies have not come out in support of our President after their companies have turned around. I would think they would not want to go back to 2008 and the GOP policies.
Mitt Romney’s headed for a big victory in Florida today but new PPP polls in Missouri and Ohio find the road ahead might be a little bit tougher for him, especially if Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum drops out of the race and leaves a single conservative alternative.
Rick Santorum is leading the way for next week’s ‘beauty contest’ primary in Missouri with 45% to 34% for Romney, and 13% for Ron Paul. Newt Gingrich is not on the ballot for that, but he will be in the picture for Missouri’s caucus and leads the way for that with 30% to 28% for Santorum, 24% for Romney, and 11% for Paul.
In Ohio Gingrich is at 26% to 25% for Romney, 22% for Santorum, and 11% for Paul.
What might be most interesting in both states is what happens in a head to head between Romney and either Gingrich or Santorum:
-In Missouri Santorum leads Romney 50-37 and in Ohio Santorum leads 45-38.
-In Missouri Gingrich leads Romney 43-42 and in Ohio Gingrich leads 42-39.
Two takeaways from those numbers: if this ever came down to Romney, Paul, and just one out of Gingrich and Santorum, Romney would be in a lot of trouble. And he’d be in more trouble if the single conservative alternative ended up being Santorum.
It might be better this way. ALhtough the vote doesn’t count for anything, if both Gingrich and Santorum were on the ballot, they would split the vote ensuring Romney a PR victory. This way he lose that advantage. I still think Gingrich and Santorum will reach an agreement where one of them drops out.

released its latest list of bundlers on Tuesday–its elite fund-raising corps of people who raised at least $50,000 tapping their networks to get people to donate to a candidate.
The GOP White House hopefuls have refused to make public their major donors–and front-runner Mitt Romney has an elite finance committee, just as President Barack Obama does.
The $68 million total comes from money collected for the Obama 2012 re-election campaign based in Chicago and the Democratic National Committee in Washington. The two groups as a practical matter function mainly as one when it comes to fund-raising to re-elect Obama.

Obama was visibly surprised about her husbands predicament and asked the woman to send him her husband’s resume so he could help him find a job.

Politico asked Wedel about her interaction with the President and she said that she doubted he was telling the truth. She did admit that she was a Republican but didn’t like any of the Republican candidates and may end up voting for Obama, especially if he helps her husband find a job.
The Republican National Committee was quick to jump on this Q & A and emailed their mailing list, supposedly showing “proof” that Obama is out of touch. After viewing the video, I saw a President who is genuinely concerned for the woman and wants to find out why her husband can’t find a job. I would also be willing to bet that within the month, her husband will have a job, if he exists.
Desperate times, call for desperate measures. The Republican party is at an all-time panic. The only card they have if flip flop is their nominee is the economy not improving. All indicators say the economy is improving and will continue to improve despite the will of the Republicans and flip flop. They will try everything to stop President Obama, won’t work; cause it’s hard to kick against the pricks. They know flip flop is completely out of touch with reality and the American people, so they want to try (and of course they have failed) to make that point with President Obama.

Three years without a job? A qualified engineer? We’ve had the same problem in the family — in Florida. Alan’s little brother.(Well he was in his late 50s!). He worked in the checkout counters of a Publix until he found a job as an IT man. Time unemployed? Just short of a year.
I don’t believe that woman. The only question in my mind is whether she’s a volunteering or a bought and paid for plant.

Cute story about PBO and cars I remember reading way back during the 2007 primaries. When he was dating Michelle, she stated that he had an old clunker with hole at the foot of the passenger’s side and she’d have to sit with her feet up on the seat and hold down her dresses so the wind didn’t blow them up. TAMPA, FL.–The Obama team raised $68 million in the last quarter of 2011 and
released its latest list of bundlers on Tuesday–its elite fund-raising corps of people who raised at least $50,000 tapping their networks to get people to donate to a candidate.
The GOP White House hopefuls have refused to make public their major donors–and front-runner Mitt Romney has an elite finance committee, just as President Barack Obama does.
The $68 million total comes from money collected for the Obama 2012 re-election campaign based in Chicago and the Democratic National Committee in Washington. The two groups as a practical matter function mainly as one when it comes to fund-raising to re-elect Obama.

The RNC is using the Google Hangout to criticize President Obama. They are saying he is out of touch. Somebody needs to explain to me how you can be out of touch when you are making use of state of the art social networking tools and taking questions directly from the public. Does the RNC realize how utterly stupid they look? They have been sabotaging the economy and obstructing job creation from day one. They have blocked the implementation of the American Jobs Act. The RNC Chairman was getting heat from Republicans and Democrats about his disgusting comments. So I guess this is just please “Look At That Shiny Object”. Don’t focus on the fact that the GOP has done nothing for job creation.

Obama was visibly surprised about her husbands predicament and asked the woman to send him her husband’s resume so he could help him find a job.

Politico asked Wedel about her interaction with the President and she said that she doubted he was telling the truth. She did admit that she was a Republican but didn’t like any of the Republican candidates and may end up voting for Obama, especially if he helps her husband find a job.
The Republican National Committee was quick to jump on this Q & A and emailed their mailing list, supposedly showing “proof” that Obama is out of touch. After viewing the video, I saw a President who is genuinely concerned for the woman and wants to find out why her husband can’t find a job. I would also be willing to bet that within the month, her husband will have a job, if he exists.

Desperate times, call for desperate measures. The Republican party is at an all-time panic. The only card they have if flip flop is their nominee is the economy not improving. All indicators say the economy is improving and will continue to improve despite the will of the Republicans and flip flop. They will try everything to stop President Obama, won’t work; cause it’s hard to kick against the pricks. They know flip flop is completely out of touch with reality and the American people, so they want to try (and of course they have failed) to make that point with President Obama.

Add that and we’ll be well on our way of exciting the base in crazy love for PBO’s re- election..
The problem is everytime the President does one of these media events, to get around the beltway shit, their is always a loaded question or a plant.
Then, the media focuses on 1 question and sensationalizes it, makes it seem these social media events are epic fail!
It’s not, but that is what the beltway shit, is trying to accomplish.

The beltway creeps can spin all they want to, but our president keeps reaching out and reaching out to millions of people who can see for themselves. Don’t let the beltway media get you down. Jovie, do you remember Joe the Plumber? I kept thinking of him and hoping all the attention being given this woman would not create another Joe the Plumber. Or Jill.
President Obama has a good heart and means it when he says he wants to hear your story. Joe kept mouthing off and President Obama was patient and thoughtful throughout that ego trip babble from the Plumber. And lo — we had another media personality.
Personally, I don’t much like a good hearted sincere President Obama being taken advantage of by a woman with a questionable story like an unemployed husband-engineer. Think about it. Three years without a job? A qualified engineer? We’ve had the same problem in the family — in Florida. Alan’s little brother.(Well he was in his late 50s!). He worked in the checkout counters of a Publix until he found a job as an IT man. Time unemployed? Just short of a year.
I don’t believe that woman. The only question in my mind is whether she’s a volunteering or a bought and paid for plant.

After repeated questions, Carney said “I’m going to attempt to forestall any further questions about potentially covert programs.”
See? It’s not so hard to acknowledge the truth that some things ARE covert and STAY covert as official US policy, no matter what people may think are bad secrets. It wasn’t a “planned” slip up like people were saying this morning. PBO probably talks about it with his advisers and NS team so openly he was a little unguarded in an open forum like yesterday.
