Morning everyone, I’ll update with news and bits soon-ish
Good Morning Chips and TOD Family!
Morning MeaBloom, morning everyone
Push up, press on!
Thanks Chips! I don’t mind sharing with my fellow TOD-er.
You are both so good to us!
Good morning Chips and TOD friends.
OMG MeaB we posted at exactly the same time.
Thanks Chips. I love, love this award. Love our FLOTUS.
I thought for sure I was a shoe-in for first! Oh well, maybe next time. Warmest Greetings TOD’ville. May you all have a stellar, productive, serene, and wonderful day
You too DreamChasrer!
Morning Chips and everyone! BWD posted FLOTUS’s speech at a fundraiser yesterday. I just love this quote:
“And that is where he gets his passion. That is where he gets his toughness and his fight. And that’s why, when he faces those hard moments, when it seems like all is lost and we’re all sweating it, wringing our hands and sweating him — “Oh, lord, Barack” — (laughter) — “What you going to do now?” “Oh, no!” — because I’ve done it, too. (Laughter.) Barack Obama never loses sight of the end goal. He sees it. (Applause.) He never lets himself get distracted by all that chatter and noise. He just keeps moving forward. (Applause.)”
It’s truly uncanny! My theory is that due to some eccentric components of his childhood, POTUS developed the ability to detach–that’s what enables him to think and behave rationally during chaos. Really brilliant man, and I love love love FLOTUS for recognizing, nurturing, and balancing these detachment characteristics. I 100% believe that the only reason that this country did not descend into a seocnd Great Depression is POTUS’ steadiness and rationality during chaos (he seems to even flourish in chaos). McCain would have lost it.
McCain DID lose it!
Morning family Lots of catching up for me to do….
I am also trying for a morning when I will be first. But Chips keeps changing the time on me – I can’t get a fix (lol).
It is a conspiracy Suzette lol….if ever I am first….I would have a request for Chips….instead of a lovely pic of POTUS or FLOTUS, I would like a pic of Chips’ artwork…..every time I see it, it put me in the best of mood….cracking me up.
ChristiMTL, I’m working on a new piece at the moment, but don’t rush me – genius cannot be pressured. I’ll unveil it soon.
lol I can’t wait but I understand! You can’t rush an artist…..it’s all inspiration.
Thank you for your understanding ChristiMTL, it’ll be worth the wait (as usual), I promise.
Oh dear, oh dear, I wait with baited breath! (I shall gird my loins for the impact (do ladies have loins, or only gents? Whatever!)) I mean: CAN’T WAIT!
Good morning everyone
Good morning TOD family.
Chips, thank you so much for my birthday shout out!!
Thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday.
LL, once again, that was an excellent and inspirational piece. Thank you for sharing!!
Hope everyone’s day is off to a good start.
I am headed to work here shortly.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
committed citizens can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Prayer Breakfast is now on the WH Live line up….enjoy
I saw Jeff Sessions earlier…..I don’t know what he was saying, I put on mute.
Sessions is one of the creepiest people in DC.
My President and FLOTUS look great – as usual!
Morning Chips and TOD. For some TOD’ers, Ellen is already on right now and you can watch FLOTUS. For the rest of us (me included) she comes on in the afternoon.
C-SPAN 2 will also air PBO, FLOTUS, and VP Biden at the National Prayer Breakfast on tv and online here: http://www.c-span.org/Live-Video/C-SPAN2/
Yeah. I saw it this a.m. but I will watch it again this evening.
Thanks for the heads up UT! Will set my DVR for Ellen later today
Good morning TOD. Hope you all have a good day. I doubt I will ever be first in the morning since we are two hours behind, but love to see who makes it each time. Looking forward to the prayer breakfast.
Woohoo PBO is LIVE now! FLOTUS looks gorgeous.
Yes she does I notice that PBO feels extra proud when FLOTUS is with him.
Prayer breakfast is now LIVE. PBO and FLOTUS look GREAT. Nancy Smash and VP Joe are also sitting at the front table.
I knew VP Biden especially would be touched by that stellar performance. Jackie probably reminds him of one his granddaughters
Is this unchristian of me? I don’t like that woman in pink. Okay, I’ll behave now.
I have a lot of unchristian thoughts at the moment when I look at some of these people……
Me too ChristiMTL, it’s doing nothing for soul!
Our response to others is often influenced by the energy they themselves are exhibiting, think about that in view of PBO, he charges up people, other people just suck the life force out of us.
For all you know she might be Chuck Todd’s great aunt. It might be unchristian of me to suggest this also. I’ll behave now.
Look what I’ve started on a prayerful morning? Hiya Hopefruit
Hiya Chips! I’m just waiting to hear my President’s remarks, that’s all.
Me too Hopefruit, tempted to block my ears for the rest.
I thought it was Virgina Foxx….do I need glasses? lol
She is too good looking to be Virginia (the) Foxx.
I think it is Mrs. Sessions, you have good reason.
Ah, that explains it. Thanks Bill.
LMBO! We won’t judge Chips.
Phew, thanks MeaBloom!
Well, I just watched LOD’s Rewite piece from last night. Holy shit. Holy shit. Chips, can you post that here later today because that is a must see.
People need to understand what’s happening with Bain and what they do. that needs to GO VIRAL!
Thanks for that…and LL, once again, in case you missed my applause for your piece yesterday…brilliant!!!! You truly, kicked ass and took names.
Just watched it too Desertflower, will add it to the next post. It’s just stunning.
Hope you’re doing well?
I am sure that Bain is curently reeking havoc on other entities as we speak. I applaud Lawrence and his staff for this very helpful piece.
So even if mittens whines that he doesn’t work for Brain anymore, is he currently profiting from their actions? Do we have examples similar to AA that Romney engineered?
O’donnell did the best work of his msnbc career on this story.
Thank you SO much, Chips! Was just watching the President speak about homeowners…..important stuff. The tireless work that this man does on behalf of the American people, each and everyday, is extraordinary. He takes my breath away.
We are taking one day at a time…prayers and good thoughts are still in order:)
This Rewrite needs to go viral….I read the comments at LOD’s site for this piece, and people are posting this to their FB page….every way to let more people see this and understand it, the better. Vulture Capitalist is PERFECT.
Ahhh Nancy Pelosi.
VP Biden is a sweetheart. After Jackie Evancho ( age 12 maybe?) sang, he said: “Now I know how angels sound.”
I love Joe!
Nancy Smash doing the first reading!
I really like her new hair style!
OMG, this guy is too much. Doctor. Republican. Blah, blah, blah. Using the occasion to throw his attitude.
Watching the CNN live feed now… wish they would all just be quiet and let our president speak!
Sorry for going O/T, but my blood is boiling after reading this ….. from the guy who never stops speaking about God:
MSNBC: ….. presidential hopeful Rick Santorum took a hard line on Wednesday against government getting involved in offsetting the cost of drug prices.
…. Santorum was prodded by members of the 300-person crowd to take one last question from a young boy standing in the front row. The child asked what the candidate would do to lower the cost of medicine. Santorum… said it was the cost of drugs that allowed for the innovation that keeps Americans with life-threatening illnesses alive.
“People have no problem going out and buying an iPad for $900. But paying $200 for a drug they have a problem with – that keeps you alive. Why? Because you’ve been conditioned in thinking health care is something you should get and not have to pay for. Drug companies, health care companies need to have a profitability, because if they don’t, then how are we going to regulate costs? ….”
… The mother of the child yelled out that she was going bankrupt just to pay for her child to keep breathing. It wasn’t clear what the boy’s condition was.
Santorum: “…… the bottom line is, we have companies with the incentive to make those drugs. And if they don’t have the incentive to make those drugs, your son won’t be alive and lots of other people in this country won’t be alive. We either believe in markets or we don’t.”
…. When members of the crowd protested what they called the exorbitant cost of the medicines they need, Santorum maintained those prices are what is keeping Americans alive longer.
“You have that drug, and maybe your life today, because people have a profit motive to make that drug,” he said.
More here: http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/02/01/10293225-santorum-government-shouldnt-try-to-limit-drug-costs
Infuriating!….he makes me sick!
He has no understanding of the difference between profit and wholesale gouging of consumers. Honestly, these people worship money above all. Makes me sick.
Unbelievable. Past time for Santorum to GO.
Shit likes this makes me want to smack the crap out of every middleclass, working class, minority (of every stripe) who constantly votes and puts in power assholes like Santorum. How dare he look at a child who is suffering, a parent who is suffering and be so cavalier about their pain, their suffering, their hurt. He is able to take care of all his children due to the kickbacks he slyly profited off from Pennsylvania and from peddling influence the same way Gingrich did.
He’s a scumbag of the worst order. He is one more evidence of why I look at people in leadership and everyday life who call themselves republicans and support/ascribe to such sick platforms.
P.S. His name is Eric Metaxas.
oops. wrong spot.
Wasn’t it beyond belief UT? The coldness and cruelty of the guy made me feel ill, the smug privileged piece of shit.
And the while family covered from the failed term in Congress, that health care package is for life, and that little boy’s Mama is helping pay for it, we all are.
What a jerk. Why did he use ipad as example? That was a cheap shot at our President who embraces the use of technology. Why didn’t he say TV, or jewelry, or even guns for that matter?
Santorum is digging his own grave. Take all the R candidates together and you could not squeeze an ounce of compassion out of them. This was the most insensitive, mindless answer he could have given. Even ‘born-without-a-heart’ Newton has more sense than this. If you are going to shill for the fat cats in the pharmaceutical industry (and they all do) you need to be a little more subtle about it. Santorum is stupid.
I’ll echo the brilliant and charitable rootless and simply hope that we continue to quickly evolve into a country in which folks like Mr. Santorum are able to receive the mental health services which they require. We’re on the right path for that with Obama Cares, and will hopefully continue to come together, reelect the POTUS, and stay on the road of positive evolution.
(That’s all I got in terms of a positive thought–my other reaction is full of expletives and venom lol).
these folks have no heart…
you would think that he would understand given that he has a child with special health needs…but he doesn’t and then to say all this to a child….
there are fundamentalists like Santourum who have these extreme ideas….and because the republican party has moved so far to the right…these extreme ideas are taking on legitimacy….and because of that…the danger becomes to keep the country from moving to the right as well…
as has been noted before…Ronald Regan would not be welcomed today’s Republican…..neither is Colin Powell….
WE WON’T GO BACK….
WTF is that man on!! How can he compare the cost of an ipad with the cost of drugs that keep people alive!! A person on low income who can not afford $900 for an ipad don’t buy one and their life or health is not endangered by them not owning one BUT illness does not discriminate between those with wealth and those who live on modest or low means who could face bankruptcy in order to keep themselves or a family member alive, therefore his analogy is completely wrong. Free market economics has it’s place but it is NOT in the provision of and the cost of healthcare. All I can say is thank God for President Obama and his ACA and with people like Santorum standing for the Republican nomination I am more determined than ever to do my small part to help re elect your wonderful, compassionate President.
I have to admit that it’s difficult to listen to some….bunch of hypocrites……tax cut for billionaires and slashing social programs…how Christian of them……I just want to listen to the President.
I hear you, ChristiMTL. It’s very hard to listen to this glaring hypocrisy. Dr. Tom Coburn, so Christian but votes against healthcare for all.
He also voted against bringing the Buffet Rule out of Committee.
Is this the same person who susspended his campaign to attend to his desperately ill child? What if he did not have the means for his child’s care? This person is not human.
Rep. Broun (R-GA) had to bash the Washington Post and New York Times. I suppose he thinks that is the necessary Christian thing to do.
Wow, I can’t listrn to this guy who is speaking now. I had to mute him.
The guy who’s speaking is funny. Said he’s 50% Greek and 50% German per his lineage. Said he’s always tried to be more than 50% Greek but has never quite broken that barrier; just like Brother Mitt Romney. Hahahaha. He then looked at PBO and said, I threw that one in there for yoy. Figured you’d enjoy it with how things are going for them.
I like him! Who is he?
His name is Eric Metaxas.
Oh thanks Ut…I’m going to check his website.
UT, I guess it is to early for my sense of humor to kick in here on the West coast.
Come on! I hope he sits down soon. Soon as in NOW!!
If I had known he would be up this long I would have went and made my breakfast. Shoot!
He’s funny, but he’s speaking WAY too long.
Isn’t he Andogriff? On and on and on and on……..
Pretty shameless, passing PBO his books to read. Hope he doesn’t read them!
really you’re paying attention???? All I hear is noise!!!! I want to listen to my President….got things to do!!!!!
Chips, I really hope you publish Tweety’s segment yesterday about Willard not caring about poor people. it was blistering.
And, Lawrence O’Donnell had the tax expert on again, about how Willard gave his sons 100 million and paid no tax on it. the man said he wrote an article too. I’m gonna try and find it, but the segment itself is also worth posting.
Hi Rikyrah, just found the Tweety segment, thanks a million:
Will add it to the next post.
David Cay Johnston is a must read, always. Get his books on how the tax system has been used to fleece the regular taxpayer. He’s a reporter so his writing is easy to follow.
***YAWNS*** When will the President speak?????? Oh Good Morning TOD
Eric Metaxas, the current speaker and a real right winger, was defending The Family, the sponsor of the event. It is a shame PBO has to attend this meeting, but I am looking forward to hearing him.
Okkkkk lol….I didn’t know who he was, I wanted to check his website……I’ll skip it now if he’s a right winger….no way…..
Hahahaha. This Eric Metaxas guy is hilarious. Loving how he exposes truth with humor.
He was writer and editor for Chuck Colson’s radio program.
Grrrrrrrr Shut The **** Up!!!!! Really it’s too early for this……it’s a prayer service but it doesn’t feel like it! LECTURE much????? stuepsssss
C’mon guy you’re funny but this is at least 20 minutes and going
That guy has been on speaking time hasn’t he?
That guy has been speaking along time hasn’t he? That is what I meant to say.
Man when is PBO speaking? I gotta go to class soon…
I think you’re going to have time to go to class and come back before POTUS speaks.
Ever heard of bunking the class ? If no, you should not be in college at all.
He is rather full of himself. His wife certainly didn’t appreciate being called to stand up on her birthday, I think there will be repercussions for him at home.
Yikes, did you see the look on her face?
Oh! That was actually her. I thought he was just being funny and just picked a woman. I dont think the camera man knew which woman was the wife.
Ok. he was funny. But now he’s going on too long.
I want PBO! I want PBO!
he’s not stopping…….I can’t believe I’m going to miss PBO speak this morning!!! Ughhhh now I’m late for class and still didn’t see my President speak live…guess I’ll have to watch the video when I get home
He is not stopping. He doesn’t realize he is not the main attraction here.
Whoah, I’ve had enough of this guy ….. did he effectively ask for God’s ‘pity’ for those who are pro-choice and pro-gay rights?
Thank God that’s over! Ugh.
My god, he must be related to Mitt Romney……my ears!!!
Why is it that everyone wants to one-up/copy PBO’s singing of Al Green? Can’t believe this dude just forced them all to sing.
Finally!! geezzzzzzzzzzz how long did he speak? it’s 9:08
Finally…….it’s PBO time!!!!! Yay!!!
Wooooooooooo!!!! PBO PBO
Here’s hoping that Bain becomes a dirty four letter word…we can use that to express our deepest disgust!
Yes indeed,I love the way that man (PBO) looks at his wife.
I think that this is one of the reasons we all love him so much, Margie!
I think so too, andogriff, there is no mistaking how real and honorable his emotions are, and how he is so humble and appreciative of Mrs. O!
Oh I can just imagine what goes thought the mind of the RWers in the room lol……
You gotta love PBO. He points out that helping the poor, helping the middleclass, helping our fellow citizens who’ve served in the army shouldn’t just be about talk (hint: GOP) there should be action. It is our moral duty to help one another. It is his (PBO) moral duty to help those who’ve been screwed by the banks, it is his moral duty to make sure those who’ve been screwed by mortgage brokers/lenders are helped. It is his moral duty to see to it that students with loans, seniors on a fixed income shouldn’t shoulder the burden of the economy, that the rich should pay their fair share. He fundamentally believes in: I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper. We should all care for the least of us and speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves.
Boy oh boy do I loooooooooooooooooooooooove this man as a human being and a leader.
PBO is telling them how put their religion in practice.
Religion is not an abstract idea for him. He puts his moral values into action each day. He once said that he uses prayer to guard against pride and to guard against complacency.
He is amazing Meta. Reminds me a lot of my mother and her beliefs.
It was so beautiful–a perfect description of the way your faith and your heart should be reflected in the way you live your life and the choices you make in your work. He was able to connect his policies and beliefs in a seamless whole without disparaging anyone else or any other religion. He was MODELLING respect for others, even as he sadly acknowledged that we so seldom show respect to each other in daily life (especially in so-called political debates). This is a man who talks it and lives it and who makes the slimy “preachers” in our state houses and Congress look like the hypocrites they are. I’ve always said about PBO that he makes you want to be a better person to live up to the standard he demonstrates in his private and public life. He lifts your spirit and makes you feel you can reach higher than you thought you could. Bravo, Mr. President, Bravo.
Note: Sanctimonious Santorum preaches his religion all the time, wanting to shove his beliefs down your throat. Then he comes up with a nasty statement about why people should be happy to pay overinflated prices for drugs.
Mittens Robney is a bishop in his chosen church and spends the bulk of his adult career raping companies and undermining jobs, then has the gall to tell us he doesn’t care about the poor.
Newton Leroy chooses religions like wives, has spent his life spewing hatred and nasty insults and has nothing but open contempt for people of color.
Our president REFLECTS deep seated religious values in his life and promotes fairness and kindness in his policies.
And whose religion is constantly questioned by so-called evangelicals and Christianists?
Chips, as an Evangelical Born Again Christian can I post scripture since President Obama is at the Prayer Breakfast?
Of course you can Lorraine, I’ve no problem with that at all, the only ‘house rule’ (!) is that we all show respect here for non-believers and believers of every faith. Thanks Lorraine.
Thank you, love. I heard President Obama’s message, he was wonderful. My favorite time to listen to him is when he speaks about his faith, it is always so personal. Smooches, dear.
The President is making me cry. I wish everyone could hear what he is saying. He really is the President of all the people. I wish there wasn’t so much hate for him. I thank God for our President everyday.
Romney stock trades clash with divestment pledge
Thu, 02 Feb 2012 08:46:37 -0500
WASHINGTON (AP) — During his presidential campaign in 2007, Republican candidate Mitt Romney promised that a trust overseeing his financial portfolio would shed any investments that conflicted with GOP positions toward Iran, China, stem cell research and other issues. But Romney’s family trusts kept some of those stocks and repeatedly bought new investments in similar holdings as recently as 2010, when they were sold in advance of his latest White House campaign, a detailed review of Romney’s financial records by The Associated Press shows.
This man cannot be trusted.
TheWinningProgressive has a few terrific links to organizations which we can support in lieu of the Komen Foundation (and their unfortunate choice to stop funding Planned Parenthood). I followed one of the links to PP and made a donation. I hope that donors more than match the money that Komen is withdrawing. Womens’ health seems to consistently be under attack (especially as relating to the relatively poorer and younger women who rely on PP for gynecological services) and it feels nice to do even a little something about it.
PP was close to replacing the Komen grant after the first day.
I felt sorry for Cecile Richards on LOD last night: she was pulling her punches because she wants to repair the relationship, but I can just imagine what she says in private!
I’m enjoyingJjennifer Granholm’s show on Current and caught the end of Countdown with david Schuster. Liz Winstead didn’t pull any punches, that’s for sure! She nailed Komen and the corporatization of charity. She flat out said that we don’t need any more cute little pink ribbons for ‘awareness’, we need real health care for real people.
We’re so broke, having not brought in any income for a few months. I’ll have to contribute next week.
I’m telling you, the mindlessness of that decision continues to take my breath away. As someone at POU noted, the women who go out of their way to participate in the walks, buy products with the pink ribbons, etc. are the exact population of people who are in vigorous support of PP and the services which this organization provides to disproportionately poorer and younger women. The evangelicals are not the Komen Foundation’s base (for lack of a better word). Great to see you, sheri, and everyone here at TOD!
Is anybody else choking up? This man does so much to inspire thought, love, action, goodness of heart. I’m in awe of his ability to bring us closer together.
Meta, I just wiped the tears from my eyes.
COS, it’s just so deeply moving.
He is so real and I can feel it when he is talking about his faith.
I couldn’t move while he was speaking. It was remarkable. He is just good inside.
I, too, say thanks for him every day. We are traveling and all I have is my iPad so can’t listen. As always, thankful for my TOD family keeping me informed.
He nailed it, yet again. It was perfect. Humble, brief and to the point.
I love it when PBO talks about his faith. It’s not phony. It’s not contrived. It comes from deep thought and consideration. And it’s always genuine.
That was great about Billy Graham and the story he told about meeting him.
And then, all chuck Todd heard was a zinger towards Robney?
That is all he heard???
He never heard PBO speak about his faith then because PBO always talks about that.
Jovie, what do we expect from people like Todd?
No need to worry about our President, just keep praying for him and his family.
He’s trying to create news. That mans faith is his money. A slow news day = $
Correction:slow news day = less $
Was Chuck implying PBO was speaking about the poor because of Willard;s comment? That is what I thought I heard him say. If so utterly disgusting.
Todd should be ashamed of himself.
Jobless claims down 12k ti 367k…
Big jobs report for Friday coming up, usually if you ate below 375 k weekly jobless number, you will have good jobs growth.
Is THIS what Republicans want? IS IT!!!!!!!!!????????????????
Is THIS the immigrant THEY FEAR??? They make me SICK!
It’s sad but I actually don’t think republicans would care. This is truly sad. I pray that this young girl isn’t deported. It already enough that she has lost so many relatives but to have to return to a country alone she hasn’t known in years is devastating.
I know all to well about this pile-up. It was close to my hometown. One of my highschool friends was involved in the wreck.
So sorry to hear about your friend that was involved. Hope they are alright. I read over at CNN that she will NOT be deported. Thank goodness. I’ll say a prayer for her.
WOW…I WOKE UP AND MADE IT RIGHT ON TIME! THIS MADE MY MORNING…BEAUTIFUL ADDRESS MR. PRESIDENT AND STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART! ALL WITH THOSE CRAZY IDEOLOGICAL BELIEFS ABOUT PBO SHOULD READ THIS TRANSCRIPT! MAY GOD DEEPLY BLESS OUR FIRST FAMILY!
The President’s Prayer Breakfast speech was mesmerizing. Bless you. President Obama. Bless you and all you do.
Good morning everyone It was a joy and an encouragement to see our First Lady along with Ellen do pushups. It truly Inspired me to get down on the floor, and try, which I did do twenty without stopping, whewwwwwwwwww. Of course, I’m old enough to be Michelle’s Mom, but the point Is, that she motivates me to be more aware of exercising, and to watch my eating habits. I’m proud that we have a First Lady, who cares about People, and their health. She cares about a lot of GOOD things really, like *Joining Forces*, Military families. She’s a very positive Mentor, and an example. She and President Obama will be lonnnnnnnnnnnnng remembered
President Obama’s message at the prayer Breakfast was a heart felt message to me. Quite moving, especially him telling about his Christian Journey, and how he prays, and how he met with Rev Billy Graham, and their praying time together. What a humbling President we have leading our Country. Lord God, I truly thank you, for sending the Obamas our way
My 90 year old evangelical Christian mom adores Obama and has been a big supporter since the democratic primaries. She is normally very mild mannered but gets quite annoyed during her Bible study class if a few of the ladies start talking trash about the president. In fact, my Mom asked that they not talk politics at all. I am grateful that my mother is gung-ho for Obama because I live with her and it would be a big challenge for me if Fox news was her wheelhouse.
Talking trash about PBO at Bible study. Go figure.
Well, its part Bible study and part social group but still, my Mom was is usually not very assertive put her foot down. I was proud of her.
edwina, I love your Mom!
I am sick to death of religion, superstition, fear and greed driving legislative decisions instead of reason, science, empatthy and respect.— MJL62 (@mjl62) February 02, 2012

TRUST ME…THEY DO IT ALL THE TIME..IT’S LIKE CARRYING A BIBLE WITH NO PRINT ON THE PAGES! THE QUESTION IS…DO THEY READ IT?
COS what we have to realize is that not everyone who claim to know Jesus, know him.
WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE??
Senator Tom Coburn at the Prayer Breakfast and at the same time blocking funding for the 9/11 Memorial? This is just one example of his obstruction. For me, he has broken the hypocrisy meter. This is why there was something incongruous about some of the words spoken at the Prayer Breakfast.
President Obama was magnificent. What I love about him is that his words are in lockstep with his deeds.
Republican Senator Tom Coburn Blocks Funding For September 11th Memorial And Museum On Ground Zero
So many hypocrites there, ladyhawke. Sessions too. These people attack our President for simply breathing, they don’t want people to have health care or be helped in any way then get up there and claim to be Christians. It’s awful.
SESSIONS MAKES MY SKIN CRAWL! BUT REMEMBER THIS…GOD KNOWS HIS HEART. HE’S NOT FOOLING THE ALMIGHTY MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE!
Reality show host Donald Trump is set to endorse Newt Gingrich Thursday in Las Vegas, according to a report by the Associated Press.
Trump, who has flirted with his own presidential run and at one point last summer was leading the GOP polls, could help the fortunes of the former House speaker, reeling from a tough loss in the pivotal Florida primary.
Gingrich was coy when asked about the possibility Wednesday, saying he had “no idea what the Donald is going to do.”
MAYBE THE DONALD AND THE NEWT CAN SHARE WIVES TOGETHER! OH BIRDS OF A FEATHER!
Other than our PBO, this breakfast doesn’t sound very prayerful to me. Sounds like a bunch of posers.
Pamela, your sense is correct. It is sponsored by “The Family”. Google the Wikipedia entry. PBO was magnificent, but the group is very right wing.
Say a prayer for Eric Holder, he goes in front of house GOP for Fast and Furious hearing!
Mathatma Gandi expresses my sentiments perfectly:
“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”
The Stock Act has stalled in the Senate and will never see the light if day in the House.
Well, senior Senators are worried it will interfere with their plans for a job on K street, after they Senatorship!
Good morning all, make the best of today. May God bless you all and our First Family.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU SWEET,SMILING SONJIA!..:)
So, the GOP is probably going to hold a contempt of Congress vote, because they feel that the WH has not given them enough documents on Solyndra.
Or, maybe they got nothing and they are pissed off!
4 very good reasons to never vote Republican. noregrets2012 http://t.co/FXPsw5fG— Donna NoShock (@NoShock) February 02, 2012
Good Grief now CNN is saying Trump will endorse Romney
Strange. When the said Trump would endorse Newt they were downplaying it, now that he is endorsing Robney, they think it is wonderful!
Does anyone really care?

I just saw FLOTUS on Ellen Show and she was the star as usual. She came out and did alittle dancing. FLOTUS is just a nice person.

MITT, THE SAFETY NET IS NOT A HAMMOCK
By Joan Walsh, Salon
The foot-in-mouth Republican doesn’t think the “very poor” need his concern. He should think again
DeMint to Romney: Love the Poor By Shredding the Safety Net
But Romney is also taking flak from conservatives who thought his comments about the “very poor”—and particularly his efforts to defend himself by pointing out that the “very poor” do benefit from “safety net” programs—showed too much interest in helping those most in need.
Here’s what Sen. Jim DeMint chose to say to Roll Call:
I would say I’m worried about the poor because many are trapped in dependency, they need a good job; they don’t need to be on social welfare programs….
I think all of this is a teachable moment for America. I think Bain Capital was, and I think he finally turned that around and showed some confidence in his success, and we need to do that here. We do worry about the poor when they’re trapped in government dependency programs and the education system’s not producing the skills [and] character for them to succeed, and I think it is an important thing for him to backtrack on that. I don’t think anyone thinks he doesn’t care about the poor, but I think he’s trying to say they’re taken care of right now with these programs. Those are the programs that are hurting, not just the poor, but our country. We need to address it at every level.
IT’S GOING TO BE A BEAUTIFUL DAY…ERRANDS TO RUN…BLESSINGS ALL..BBL!..:)
