Oh my goodness, I’m speechless! Thank you, Chips! Thank you ALL!
As you know I’m mostly a lurker, seldom a commenter. I’ve been away for a while and just signed on now, and then whaaaam….I’m first??? My my my….don’t know how to handle this excitement. LOVE my TOD family!
Can you imagine having the misfortune of having to look at “President Willard’s” robotic facial expression or “President Mankini’s” double chin everytime they squint and wave before going into AF1?
I just wanted to ask you for your help in spreading the word about the “Iamobamacare” themed website, which posts all the stories and pictures of people affected by obamacare. You can find it here: http://iamobamacare.tumblr.com/
Its not my website, but I talked to the blogger who made it and he is looking for help in spreading the word so I thought I would do my bit.
I think it is really important to spread this around because it is good to put a face on all the numbers. Imagine instead of a number like 50,000 people got insurance, we had 50,000 stories.
Sorry coolelegans, I haven’t been on the blog for a couple of hours, only just saw your messages in pending – put them both through. Many thanks for that link, it’s looks terrific, just reading through the posts now. Thanks again.
I’m bringing this from the previous thread. It was originally meant as a bet to UT – but since I haven’t heard back from her, it’s an open bet for whoever is interested.
I’m betting that the Giants will win. I think PBO is with me on that one too. So for those who are betting on the Patriots here goes:
If Patriots lose, you have to write a short open love letter to Mitt, Rick, Newt and Paul singing their praises, expressing your love/admiration for them – The letter has to be posted here by 11:30PM tonight.
If the Giants lose, I’ll have to come up with a love letter for the GOP candidates…
Ooooooooh Hopefruit you are ON like a sucker! I like the Giants when they play other teams but when it comes to my PATRIOTS, no dice. I’m taking that bet. You’d better be penning that love note to the GOP Clowns right now.
Goooooooooooooooooooooo PATRIOTS!!!!!!!! Suck it Giants!
OMgoodness hopefruit2
I really do hope the Giants win.
However, we all know UT doesn’t know the meaning of “short letter”. We could be reading from darkness to daylight
Oh GGail trust and believe I won’t be the one writing the GOP love note. I’ve got Tebow interceding on my behalf to the man upstairs. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo PATRIOTS.
Yeah, I agree Susanne. Here’s my template for either of the contestants. I tried to meet all the love/admiration criteria truthfully.
Dear Mitt, Rick, Newt and Paul,
I wanted to take this time to commend you on your 2012 campaigning. I feel sure you will all go down in history for running the most unbelievable primary ever! I believe there is no way the current president could have run a campaign such as yours. Thank you ALL for shedding such a powerful light on President Obama so that more and more people can see the obvious contrast between him and the GOP. I truly admire the work you have done in this area.
Finally, I must say this letter comes from my heart. I absolutely ♥ LOVE ♥ the way you all use words. You have all made your opinion of the American people so clear that if we do not reward you accordingly, the shame is on us! Keep up your efforts and good luck to all of you in your life after campaigning.
PBO COULD TALK ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF PRUNE JUICE AND I’D STILL PASS OUT ON THE FLOOR!..LOL!..:)))))))))) OH YES…I STILL HAVE BLOOD FLOWING! I MAY BE OLD BUT MY ARTERIES ARE STILL AWAKE!…NAUGHTY MATTTTTT HERE!
“Sure, I like anyone else wish for more action from the President on many fronts. For instance I wish the President had not been so in love with the idea that we could be moving into a post-partisan world of cooperation. ”
Oh, not Frank too! I wish Frank would have stated all those “many fronts” he wished PBO would have had more action on. I’m a fan of Frank from 2008 but he is contradicting himself throughout this piece. You can’t have this:
“Many of Obama’s liberal allies have been disillusioned, too. When Steve Jobs last met the President, in February, 2011, he was most annoyed by Obama’s pessimism—he seemed to dismiss every idea Jobs proffered. ‘The president is very smart,’ Jobs told his biographer, Walter Isaacson. ‘But he kept explaining to us reasons why things can’t get done. It infuriates me.” ”
And then have Jobs himself frankly tell PBO his Apple jobs were never coming back to these shores, and then be upset with PBO because he dismisses your ideas.
“So I’ve been grateful that a man of integrity, brains and kindness and reasonable moderation (not to mention moderate progressive religious faith) is leading America.”
There go those contradictory words…..reasonable “moderation”.
“The President keeps proving himself smarter than his detractors. More power to him.”
Exactly right Frank !
“Given what was on his plate when he took office and the fact that we’re successfully struggling out of both recession and 2 war — and succeeding — President Obama is one of the best of the American presidents already. His second term will consolidate that verdict and bodes greatness as his legacy.”
Hopefully Frank will re-read his own words, and appreciate PBO for who he is, and not what we want him to be. Once you’re in for someone, that someone must have impressed you in some manner to respect his intellect, and not play back seat driver.
” I’m NOT saying that any president is above rebuke when you think he’s wrong.” Me either, Frank. But I return to the fourth quote…PBO keeps proving himself smarter than his detractors. That’s enough for me. Quiet down Frank.
I came in from yard work with two minutes to spare, telly on, listened to PBO, telly off… Back outside. Finished or today, but my goodness, my birdies have mostly flown from the yard without that life supporting plum tree…. I am still so sad. President Obama cheered me up for sure!
Thank you, JO’B, as it was an Act of God, I am now pondering on what the message from Gpd is, as I always enjoy hearing from Him/Her! The birds will figure it out, either they will find a way to adapt, or they will find new habitat.
O Pamela, are you a stevia fan? I’ve been using it (liquid) as my primary sweetener for about 6 months now. At first, I would ‘cheat’ and add other sugar, but now I can handle it on its own 90% of the time. It’s pricey though.
Oh, yes, vcprezofan2, been using it for many years. Have tried all kinds, some not so good, terrible aftertaste …:( but the best one I’ve found about 2 years ago is KAL brand (powder) from SuperSupplements. It comes in a couple different sizes, but I buy the big one for value. Then I put a lesser amount into an airtight daily use container and leave the big one closed up tight in the cupboard. It costs about $15, but lasts nearly a year, as 1/ the tiny scoop is plenty for me. The liquid I found a little harder to control the amount. I really like that stevia has 0 carbs, though I am not diabetic.
I actually tried an organic powder first but the after taste was so strong that I never finished the bag, and almost gave up on stevia. I mentioned this the next time I was in the health food store, and was luckily introduced to the liquid. Maybe, I’ll see if we have KAL here next time .
Superbowl discussion with F. Lauer and PBO begins interview and then transitions to interational relations topic of Israel/Iran conflict and I marvel at the juxtaposition of their detailed talk of the talent on the ‘game’ on grass with the detailed talk by US ‘Quarterback’, PBO talking about US team strategy to beat Iran. in the ‘real-world’ game of life between evil Iran and rest of world….brillant!!
What a clown lauer is! did he really ask multiple times for a prediction and if Barack’s young girls have posters of some football player up in the white house? 10 and 13 year old girls? Of the the president of the united states?
That’s how he chose to spend a good chunk of a 5 minute interview with the president? What an embarrassment to anyone who works at NBC!
I know he was obsessive. “Do the Obama ladies think Brady is hot? Do they have posters in their room? What about Justin Bieber?” Ummm the President was probably rolling his eyes so hard (mentally of course). How stupid.
i cant imagine asking any dad, let alone the president of the united states on freaking live tv with tens of millions of viewers, if his 10 year old daughter has the hots for anyone. The more i think about it, the weirder it becomes, and i think lauer is the one with the hots for this player and was getting his jollies asking about this, multiple times..
The more I think about it, the more I think it was a freaky question also. For one thing, Brady is closer in age to their dad than to the 2 daughters. Like they would have a Brady poster on their bedroom walls! Odd to the max.
I think Lauer wanted to find out whether the girls have boyfriends – otherwise he wouldn’t have brought Beiber into the conversation. It’s been on the media’s mind ever since the first child turned 13. It’s a stupid obsession. They are still children – there will be plenty of time for “romances” in the coming years.
I’m surprised he didn’t ask “Boxers or briefs?” Nothing about anything important. I did like the questions about Iran. The President was great on that “I can’t give you the details of our conversations, but..” As if Matt has such a high security clearance that the President would slip and tell him anything of importance . I would love to interview our President. I would ask really what the public wants to know.
And they wonder why he goes around them. On Reliable Sources today Howard Kurtz posed that question from a Politico article last week, “Is the White House trying to make journalists obsolete?” I was surprised that one of the panelists actually said voters ask better questions than journalists because they aren’t concerned with process. That same panelist also acknowledged that they know PBO does not like the press. They talked about the Super Bowl interview and another panelist didn’t have a problem with it because PBO is a sports fan.
There was one guy that seemed like a right winger and suggested PBO made news at the Google hangout because he seemed not to know about the VISA situation posed by that woman with the unemployed husband. So, I guess he’s saying if the right can find something to pound PBO over when he does that type of interview then it’s fine with him. He added that other presidents have been more accessible than PBO. All in all, I don’t think the panelists really took the bait to complain as much as you might have guessed they would. Maybe they do most of their complaining to each other off camera. Jonathan Martin did say he didn’t think the public cared if PBO went around the press but that they do want the President to be held accountable and he believed the media were best equipped to do that. I beg to differ, however.
What’s the point of an accessible president if the only thing he tells you is a bunch of lies? I’m sure the press think Bush was accessible, the whole time he was lying this country into a deficit and a farce of a war. President Obama is plenty accessible to the people.
No one is worse than bubblehead Bill O’Reilly last year. Awful…PBO couldn’t even answer questions because O’Reilly kept talking. Asking asinine questions/comments.
I think you guys are too hard on Lauer. He’s trying to make chitchat, trying to link it to football, and he’s obviously not too ‘deep’ a thinker. Give him a little credit, at least, for not leading with a GOP candidate related question. Most of these guys function ‘best’ when they can throw in ‘mitt/newt/ron/rick said/did, what is your rebuttal?’
I’m enjoying all the good looking men during the pregame. Especially Rodney Harrison, former Patriots player who is now looking fine on the tv screen in his form-fitting suit. Dayum!
Did anyone else think that was a snarky question? What was PBO supposed to say? No. I don’t deserve a second term but I saw the opposition and figured why not?
I also think the President should have pushed back against the premise that Americans aren’t feeling better about the economy. Public confidence is up. Retail sales are up, an indicator of how people feel about spending. The whole premise was wrong.
Now I see why Matt never moved beyond his a.m. job into more substantive and newsworthy interviews.
I hope you and vero804 are willing and able to help UT write those love letters to the GOP candidates after the Giants win. I will be waiting with bated breath.
A comment onFfrank Schaeffer’s piece. He was completely accurate in saying Norm Ornstein was from the conservative American Enterprise Institute. That is indeed true, but Norm Ornstein is no conservative. I don’t know why they haven’t fired him yet (thank God) . I remember him from the early days of progressive radio when he was a regular guest on Al Franken’s show.
The entire piece is a must-read. Here’s a favorite paragraph of mine:
“About 6 months into his presidency lots of bloggers at HP and elsewhere seemed to run out of patience not just with President Obama but with reality itself. President Obama “disappointed” them. I stuck with the President because I believed then, and believe now, that he is smarter, kinder, more reliable and morally superior to his critics let alone to the political alternatives. I also know that the presidency is not as powerful as many people seem to think it is including many liberal commentators who claim to live in a fact-based world. I’m grateful if any president can get anything good done at all.”
It’s linked to up thread, but here’s the link again:
- Watch hot man in MI-5 (Spooks)
- Catch up on FRINGE eps I have on the DVR
- Go for walk in 70° sun before the rain hits tomorrow
- Play WoW (and hang with my TOD family)
They’ve been showing that ad nonstop all week on all our local news shows. Seems DB should be getting extra resids, but I’m sure that ad was a $$$$$$ buy out like ALL superbowl ads are.
Anyway – it’s pretty, but it can’t talk. Still, I’m glad he’s still ours for another two years, and I’m glad he’s not permanently broken.
Today as I watched the Lauer interview and read the Schaffer article – I decided to make up a little list (that you all can add to).
This year is better because:
We did not have to listen to Bill O’Reilly disrespect the President and interrupt him over 40 times during the Superbowl Interview
Sarah Palin has stopped talking (or the media has stopped listening)
Glen Beck’s show has been cancelled
We aren’t running against Huntsman
The conversation is about the 99% vs 1% not about the deficit
Unemployment is at 8.3%
This blog has imporved – we whine and freak out less, tweet more, share resources, encourage each other and make a difference.
Just like President Obama said – we have much more to do, but we are making progress.
Well, our President, by not calling the game (picking a team) and saying he couldn’t call it … may have called it as “one heck of a game!” 9-9 at the first half!
First time posting here, sorry to hijack the thread. Remember that lady who started out “I am obamacare”? Well there is a tumblr website that is posting anyone’s stories on Obamacare to give it more than just numbers but a face.
Its not my website, but I talked to the blogger and he is desperately looking to get attention to it and have more people write their stories. Right now there are 5 stories.
Im looking to spread the word, if chipsticks can hear me or if anyone can tell me how to contact chipsticks please let me know.
I feel almost unAmerican. ‘stead of watching the game, I’m watching Sleepless in Seattle. Love that movie!!!
ps- for whomever loses this bet on which team wins, please preview your GOP love letters here first before you send them off!!!—–I could use a good laugh.
ooooooooh!!! ET about to start on AMC!!! Yesh!!!!!
I love that movie too, lisalovesobama, living in Seattle makes it even more enjoyable… Especially the rain scenes when the mail carrier is delivering! We love our rain!
My hubby and I (who are both Catholic) talked about this coming home from Church this morning. We are both from huge Catholic families and have many Catholic friends who all basically just at this fake controversy.
I wish that all of my TOD fam could have the likes of a Martin O’Malley governing their states.
Ok folks – the Detroit commercial with Clint Eastwood is nice, but in reality, Detroit is 90% black and I only saw out of all the people in the commercial, one black man and one black child.
that’s so funny all three of us must have posted this at the same time. I was just thinking that the reason those Motor City car companies are doing as well as they are is because of PBO!
Well, I know that’s what I was thinking I was waiting for it to be a commercial for like Romney or something because of Clint being conservative. It was a pro Detroit, car companies are coming back kind of commercial but yes. no diversity. very um…..strangely vanilla…..
I’m considering the Clint Eastwood Chrysler ad the kick-off of the Obama campaign. Yeah!
Seriously, every GM or Chrysler ad reinforces our President’s wisdom in saving those companies.
(From a native Michigander, now in Maryland)
ok – just watched part of the halftime show – heads up – we’re in for another FCC MOMENT – where the dancer on the right flipped off the camera and THEN the booth did a FULL FRAME BLUR.
TOO. LATE.
Wonder what the rightwing outrage will be this time? Middle Finger Malfunction? On FCC fine of how much?
“I’m a Catholic. I think the Constitution got it right: Protect religious liberty. But if my church wants to start being an insurance company, if my church wants to be an Internet company, it doesn’t have the same religious freedoms to discriminate against women, not letting them become priests. And it shouldn’t have the same rights as it has as a church to do business. So if it wants to be in the business of providing health insurance, it should do what every other health insurer must do under our laws.”
Rachel Maddow:
“When you want to become a health insurance provider, you must follow the rules of providing health insurance… cover contraception.”
“You can try to make this an issue of, ‘Oh Democrats hate religion’… This is about providing health insurance, and the Republican party is waging war on contraception…”

Oops…is that too naughty maty of me?
Can you imagine having the misfortune of having to look at “President Willard’s” robotic facial expression or “President Mankini’s” double chin everytime they squint and wave before going into AF1?
Ayyy my eyes, my eyes…..not a pretty thing to imagine. Luckily, it will NEVER happen!

I love, love, LOVE your screen name!!! Pres. Obama is indeed, the BEST PRESIDENT EVER!!!!
Thanks isonprize. He truly IS indeed. It’s no hyperbole or exaggeration, and history will judge him as such when all is said and done.
Ooh, ooh, there’s your dear friend, President Obama, very pleased to see you first on super bowl Sunday!
I’m bringing this from the previous thread. It was originally meant as a bet to UT – but since I haven’t heard back from her, it’s an open bet for whoever is interested.

YAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chips looks like we are going to have a “word from HF2″ or a “word from UT” later tonight. 8)
Alrighty then!..we shall see, shan’t we, UT? It’s ON!!!
Perhaps all winnings from bets placed on TOD could be donate through Chips’ page? Just a thought…
OMgoodness hopefruit2
I really do hope the Giants win.
However, we all know UT doesn’t know the meaning of “short letter”. We could be reading from darkness to daylight
If it’s anything “nice” about the GOP – it will be short, trust me!
true dat!
may the better team win – “just win baby” (quote from the late Raider owner Al Davis)
Oh GGail trust and believe I won’t be the one writing the GOP love note. I’ve got Tebow interceding on my behalf to the man upstairs. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo PATRIOTS.
Hopefruit get your writing gear in place.
That’s the spirit ut!
That’s the spirit hopefruit2!
R U READY FOR SOME FOOTBALLL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll be hoping for you, hf2
Go Giants!!
Stab in the heart DF. Stab in the heart.

i love that you’re mortal humans who won’t stink up the planet too much longer.

Great and crisp answers Mr. President.
President Obama could talk to me about corn-flakes, and I’d be mesmerized. The man is good.
lol…so true!! I appreciate his ability to shift smoothly from talking sports to ‘shop’ without missing a beat.
Again?
Yes, Sir, Mr. President, you WILL get your second term!! Yes indeed.
Frank Schaeffer has just posted a GREAT piece supporting POTUS. Please read and pass around!
http://frank-schaeffer.blogspot.com/2012/02/president-obama-will-be-vindicated.html
Thank you. I love Frank Schaeffer! Off to enjoy it, and tweet.
Thanks for the link. I love Frank Schaeffer.
Excellent writing, excellent read!
This article was very inspiring.
great piece! He’s one that knows of what he speaks…he WAS the RW evangelical loon.

Thank you maggie for sharing this excellent piece by Frank Schaeffer. I will definitely share it with friends and colleagues.
Wow. Watched the interview, had a snack, came here and it’s posted already! Thank you, Chips. And wasn’t our President great, as usual. My my my.
I came in from yard work with two minutes to spare, telly on, listened to PBO, telly off… Back outside. Finished or today, but my goodness, my birdies have mostly flown from the yard without that life supporting plum tree…. I am still so sad. President Obama cheered me up for sure!
So sorry about your tree. Love the fact you appreciated it so much (as well as the birds).
Thank you, JO’B, as it was an Act of God, I am now pondering on what the message from Gpd is, as I always enjoy hearing from Him/Her! The birds will figure it out, either they will find a way to adapt, or they will find new habitat.
That’s kind of like what all of us have to do – find a way to adapt! We can do it!
Over 60k has donated to Two-Term Fund.
Yes – it’s at almost $2.4 million dollars already! Unlike Romney, that’s mostly small donors – all with an individual vote.
We love our President!

Green jasmine tea with a bit of stevia…
O Pamela, are you a stevia fan? I’ve been using it (liquid) as my primary sweetener for about 6 months now. At first, I would ‘cheat’ and add other sugar, but now I can handle it on its own 90% of the time. It’s pricey though.

We got Coke, Tea, Lemonade, Tropical fruit punch. No alcohol, people get crazy when they start drinking.
I’ll have some Lemonade with a snippet of rum (if you have any hidden in the cabinet). Thanks! Otherwise I brought my own rum.
I’ll have some lemonade, too. You’re right about the alcohol esp. if they’ll be rooting for the Giants.
SCRATCH N’; SNIFF SAMPLES PLEASE!!!!!!
I’m on my way!!!
Apparently, Matt Lauer snd Brian Williams were fighting, over who should interview POTUS!
Frivolous!
They must be Republicans…
Hee, hee!
Superbowl discussion with F. Matt was trying to get him mad!
THEY ALL TRY THAT…IT WON’T WORK…PBO KILLS THEM WITH HIS PATIENCE ALL THE WHILE SITTING THERE WITH HIS SILENT…SWIFT MOVING FLYSWATTER!…SPLAAAAT!
I know he was obsessive. “Do the Obama ladies think Brady is hot? Do they have posters in their room? What about Justin Bieber?” Ummm the President was probably rolling his eyes so hard (mentally of course). How stupid.

Yes – that was inappropriate, given the young ages of the little girls, and the fact that this is the President of the United States. Lauer is a fool.
TOM BRADY DOES HAVE A ‘BONE ROLLING’ LOOK ON HIS FACE THIS EVENING…THIS WILL BE QUITE A GAME!
The media has been obsessively against the president ever since Obama and his administration went against Fox News.
I tried to be respectful when I suggested to Matt that he STFU.. He did not seem to hear me.
Hey Chips, you are a super star! Thanks for posting that so quick since I missed it live!
Aaron Rogers is a cutie….just sayin!
Yea, BUT he’s not in the Super Bowl!
Go Brady!
Yes Brady Can.
Yes Brady Can rock my socks.
Yes Brady Can be uber HOT.
Yes Brady Can rock the hell out of a suit.
Yes Brady Can rock the hell out of a tuxedo.
Yes Brady Can drive me crazy with his hot bod and hot abs.
Yes Brady Can spike/throw a football.
Yes Brady Can play the game like no other.
Yes Brady Can CRUSH Eli Manning.
Yes Brady Can mop the floor with the Giants.
Yes Brady Can win Superbowl XLVI.
Yes Brady Can.
You baiting hopefruit?:) He IS a cutie!
I’m enjoying all the good looking men during the pregame. Especially Rodney Harrison, former Patriots player who is now looking fine on the tv screen in his form-fitting suit. Dayum!
Vero, I must say that this is indeed the “best looking” pre-game Super Bowl show evahhh
And a third term, and a fourth term!
Wouldn’t that be great? If he wanted it for that long.
Christine Romer wrote a weird piece in the Ny Times.
Never liked her, anyways…
That is all!
My Nephew looks just like Tom Brady.
That is all!
Then he’s a cutie, too!
Victor Cruz is my NFL boo.
And since I’m a Ravens fan, I gotta go for the Giants.
Ugh…so tired of all these people rooting for the Giants. Whack.
With love…
Absolutely Vero. Giants fans are so whack. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooo PATRIOTS!
Sorry Giants, love you on any other day but————————-> SUCK IT!
Right-on!
I hope you and vero804 are willing and able to help UT write those love letters to the GOP candidates after the Giants win.
I will be waiting with bated breath.
Currently the whack Giants are leading 9 – 3

Wow…those are very unattractive. Messy.
Different strokes for different folks.
Sorry, they ARE ugly.
I was looking for Presidential Seal…then I realized it was on the wooden box?? lol
He looks good. Like he DID NOT FAIL!
Bradyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! #Superbowl
It’s linked to up thread, but here’s the link again:
http://frank-schaeffer.blogspot.com/2012/02/president-obama-will-be-vindicated.html
I concur 57, this is a must read.
Tweeted it. Great piece.
Read this from the last thread. Schaeffer knows what he’s talking about and pulls no punches. Thanks for linking.
Does Miranda Lambert really need the hot pink mic to go with her hot pink gawdy earrings??? She sounds good, tho!
Mitt Romney must be yelling at the TV..oh they’re singing my song…hey Ann…come over here..they’re singing my song!!!!!!
Ha!
Hahaha. So true.
After he loses the election and needs a job he can sing it next year at the Super Bowl.
hahahahaha!
Aww…Brady is mouthing the lyrics for the National Anthem. Love him!!!!
This is a beautiful rendition of the Anthem…with the kids singing background and the drummers. I teared up!

Eat your cold-heart out Willard…
Game On!
PATS! PATS! PATS!
Go Giants! I like Brady but one player does not a winning team make! hehehe
Gooooooo Giiiiiiaaaannnntttttts!
That is the first time I have seen an intentional grounding safety in many years of watching football.
Have no interest in this game at all besides the commercials and you can actually see them online.
Saints aren’t playing so I’m just gonna go with the hometown boy and say “Go Eli”.
BTW, I’m no raving fan of Madge, but I might check out the half-time show. About what time will halftime be? Can anyone guest-imate?
Switching back and forth between TOD and twitter. What the fuck was that Brady? Jeez.
It’s kindly called a hot mess of a play.
okay now NY just can’t screw up. Gotta hold that lead….. hehehe
Crap! Crap! Crap! Come on Patriots! Sheesh.
Ugh, we have to see celebrity apprentice ads.
And why is Arsenio Hall giving Chump the time of day?
Every needs to be ready to lace into the #superbowl hash tag when they play the rwnj anti women ad. ‘K? ‘K!
every = everybody
Cute Chevy commercial with the grad student freaking out.
Doritos Ad? Best Ad so far. #Superbowl
Hmmm….. such a choice of activities…..
- Watch hot man in MI-5 (Spooks)
- Catch up on FRINGE eps I have on the DVR
- Go for walk in 70° sun before the rain hits tomorrow
- Play WoW (and hang with my TOD family)
You just missed half-naked David Beckham.
meh. I’d rather a half naked Forlán, or a certain all naked hot man from MI-5.
Besides, they’ve been showing that DB ad nonstop all week on all our local channels, as you well know.
I didn’t
That was sweet…except if I was a guy, I wouldn’t spend that kind of money for drawers:)
Yeah, no, I’m not spending $15 for a pair of trunks.
You are experiencing what my uncle calls a “happy headache.” That’s your diagnosis. To treat this condition simply make a choice!
Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! David Beckham. Ladies? Need I say more? #Superbowl
What a real footballer looks like.
UT, I… I just don’t know what to say about Chelsea. Granted, Howard “I love Sir Alex” Webb was the referee, but you DON’T give up a 3-nil lead!
ouch.
I hadn’t heard about that.
Yeah, Webb gave Man Spew two penalties. But Torres missed a golden chance to score because he couldn’t stop dribbling like a pretty boy. Ugh.
ah geeez.
I wonder if Ms. Tally saw the David Beckham in his drawers ad?
They’ve been showing that ad nonstop all week on all our local news shows. Seems DB should be getting extra resids, but I’m sure that ad was a $$$$$$ buy out like ALL superbowl ads are.
Anyway – it’s pretty, but it can’t talk. Still, I’m glad he’s still ours for another two years, and I’m glad he’s not permanently broken.
And I love this ad.
that’s adorable.
GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL!
Great post WIW!!!
Spot on WiW…love all you do thank you:-)
Superb reminders!!
Definitely!
We don’t have to listen to crazy Pat Buchanan
Special post, WiW!!! Thank you.
We moved from the era of “Yes We Can” to the now of “Yes We Must”!!
#LandslideOBAMA2012
The GOP exposed itself finally for the uncaring, evil bastards that they are.
Beautiful WIW. Yes, we are making a difference and you’re helping to make that happen.
.jpeg
“Brought to you by Barack Obama.”
THIS!!!!!
People are screaming in my neighborhood.
Damn.
Well, our President, by not calling the game (picking a team) and saying he couldn’t call it … may have called it as “one heck of a game!” 9-9 at the first half!
Touch Down!!!!! Gooooooooooooooooooo PATS! Suck it Giants!
Yes, Go Pats!!!
Yeayyyyyyyy..I am with UTA go Pats:-)

Hey guys,
First time posting here, sorry to hijack the thread.
In the meantime check out the website yourself.
link please.
oops didn’t leave a link!
http://iamobamacare.tumblr.com/
Spread the word, write blogs, ask family etc etc. It only has 5 posts. Lets make it 500.
coolelegans, would you mind posting that again in the new thread so everyone sees it?
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/02/05/half-time-in-america/
Many thanks again.
May I PLEASE have a Gov. like this???????????? Pretty please???

Common sense answer to a common sense question.
My hubby and I (who are both Catholic) talked about this coming home from Church this morning. We are both from huge Catholic families and have many Catholic friends who all basically just
at this fake controversy.
I wish that all of my TOD fam could have the likes of a Martin O’Malley governing their states.
Makes ya want to move to Maryland!
Forgot to add:
1. Gov. O’Malley
2. Crab cakes
Ok, am I the only one who thinks Madge is completely lip-synching?
Oh yea – she’s definitely lip-synching LL!
Oh, that was a real big mess.
Which was worse? Madge’s performance, or The Who’s show a couple of Super Bowls ago?
I didn’t see that!!
Oh god, Roger Daltrey could barely hit his notes.
Madonna show was very good…”World Peace”
Good ad by Clint Eastwood at halftime!
Did you see it?
Is that ‘all’, Jovie?
Ok folks – the Detroit commercial with Clint Eastwood is nice, but in reality, Detroit is 90% black and I only saw out of all the people in the commercial, one black man and one black child.
Come on people!
that’s so funny all three of us must have posted this at the same time. I was just thinking that the reason those Motor City car companies are doing as well as they are is because of PBO!
Some of these ad dynamo people need a refresher course in diversity!
OK did you guys catch Clint in the Motor City commercial “It’s Halftime in America”?
I walked out of the room. What was the gist? He’s a total RWer.
He is? Well, that explains the lack of diversity noted above. Unreal.
Well, I know that’s what I was thinking I was waiting for it to be a commercial for like Romney or something because of Clint being conservative. It was a pro Detroit, car companies are coming back kind of commercial but yes. no diversity. very um…..strangely vanilla…..
I remember him being a republican mayor somewhere in CA wasn’t he. I thought this ad was actually quite good.
Carmel By the Sea
Well, so far it’s turning out to be a low-scoring game, like I thought it would be.
You mean…. almost like a soccer game?
Well, yeah, but with commercials.
I’m considering the Clint Eastwood Chrysler ad the kick-off of the Obama campaign. Yeah!
Seriously, every GM or Chrysler ad reinforces our President’s wisdom in saving those companies.
(From a native Michigander, now in Maryland)
New post everyone:
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/02/05/half-time-in-america/
thanks I appreciate it!
ok – just watched part of the halftime show – heads up – we’re in for another FCC MOMENT – where the dancer on the right flipped off the camera and THEN the booth did a FULL FRAME BLUR.
TOO. LATE.
Wonder what the rightwing outrage will be this time? Middle Finger Malfunction? On FCC fine of how much?
Yes—Go PATS!!!
What those of us missed that don’t watch MTP
http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2012/02/05/video-rachel-maddow-rep-xavier-becerra-on-meet-the-press-the-republican-party-is-waging-war-on-contraception/
Good points if you ask me!
Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-CA):
Ha . . .
