First?
you got it elle! Congrats
Thanks a4alice
You are SO fast!
Winner!
I love it! And I love our president! And he loves us back, how cool is that? Thanks Chips!
Well, your first first deserves a second reward
This pic is awesome–the look of___fill in the blank– I would say love.
Thanks Chips for all the great pics.
I had to comment one more time: This pic is about when a man loves a woman & he is not afraid to show it…
Lovely. I remember that debate.
I WOULD DEFINITELY SAY…THE LOOK OF LOVE…I DO BELIEVE IT RUNNETH OVER!…:)
That picture brings tears to my eyes.
Thanks Chips! I love how he loves, respects, and honors our beautiful, smart, compassionate FLOTUS. What a beautiful couple.
I am in love with that picture. The way POTUS is looking at FLOTUS, you can see the sparkle in his eye, like he is saying we’re in a room full of people but you are the only one I see.
I need all these pictures to put in my ” Obama Book”.
That’s photo book, I’m not writing a book.
OMG.
My first “first” can’t wait to see what Chips gas in store, perhaps a beautiful picture of PITUS gazing adoringly at FLOTUS, or our handsome president lighting up with his beautiful smile ….
Doggone auto spell: has, POTUS,
It’s a good feeling having THAT smile ‘centred’ on you, isn’t it? Congratulations on your first first, Elle!
It sure is! Thanks VC!
seriously?
Santorum’s Culture War Edge
Many in Washington remain befuddled by Rick Santorum’s embrace of radical social reactionaryism in an electorate primarily concerned with the economy. What they miss is that was only through bringing such issues to the front and center that Santorum could break through the frothy oblivion to which Dan Savage had tried to send him. He realized that this was what positively motivates those who were not yet sold on Romney.
But this only reinforces my point about the politics of sex. It’s a wedge issue now for the left. Since contraception emerged as an issue, thanks to the posturing of Benedict XVI’s amen-chorus, Obama has seen his ratings slowly climb, while the GOP candidates’ unfavorable numbers keep growing. And Santorum’s canny use of the issues has helped him sustain a primary campaign that will now only serve to weaken, demoralize and drain money from Romney.
So this election could prolong the Republican agony for another electoral cycle at least. It could lead to a general election candidate dubbed both rich and out of touch and only lip-syncing the theological truths that evangelicals hold dear. If he loses, it could well mean another spasm of even more Christianist extremism the next time round, since Christianists will argue that running another faux-culture-warrior was the reason they lost.

Good Afternoon, Chips and TOD
Yo, y’all”
Love these pics, love Gov. Perdue, THAT is how to greet THIS President! Yes.
Bye, y’all!
That was a real ‘doctor’s visit’, Pamela. Yes I agree with you on the pics. See you later when you get home from work.
BTW, I never did find the powdered stevia with no after taste that you mentioned, so I’m staying loyal to my pricey liquid stevia while keeping my eyes open whenever I visit the health food store.
Gov. Perdue is a good governor. I’m so sorry she decided not to run for re-election.
Why does she have her hands on PBO?
I had the same question, she’s too close. Back up you.
I know…what up Gov Bev? I hope she was complimenting his tie and he said, “Thanks, yes Michelle picks out all my ties”..
I guess it’s better than putting her finger in his face but she’s awfully close.
Oh you jealous female TODobots!
You want to be the only ones other than FLOTUS standing close to POTUS. Gov Bev was just complimenting him on his tie, and he was looking down to remind himself which one he had worn. Happened to me whenever someone remarked on my earrings and I had to think hard, or feel, to remember which I had worn.
Yeah vc but was it a guy in you personal space holding one of your earrings remarking “how looooooveeely”? No wonder you had to “think hard to remember”…..
Sssh, Jojo! Now I’m blushing.
LOOKS LIKE SHE MAY BE POKING FUN AT THAT WITCH GOV BREWER!!!!
So whats up with NC’s gov all up on POTUS like that?
I just don’t know what our governor is up to with that serious face. Setting that aside, we’re thrilled to have the President
in our fabulous state of North Carolina. awesome. xoxo
I was looking more at POTUS’ expression.. anyhoo, I know they’re friendly and she’s a dem.
aww now that I’m thinking a bit
she may well have been pointing out the blues in his tie- that he referred to in his speech today.. duh.
Geez… you all are territorial. She was probably saying something nice about his tie.
Yeah but I don’t have to be THAT close.
she’s all up on him. what’s that about.
That was my first thought too. Back up!!
Can we trade? My governor is Jan Brewer.
Yeah, I didn’t think you would but a gal’s gotta try.
Feeling your pain, TD! But we have trade sanctions on that Brew!
TD Gov Jan Brewer is a BITCH soorry!!!!!! LoL. We latinos dislake her with a passion, She is the bigest
anemy along with the GOP for Latinos. I.am just very surprise that ther are some Ignorant dumb latinos
that will vote for Mitten
Mel, I am shock some Latinos will vote for Romney also, consider Romney supports that bill Brewers sign into law against Latinos. Same way people better remember that Romney supports Paul Ryan budget in it is where Ryan want to do away with Medicare. People better remember these things. Some people will want to complain about gas prices, but how will it be if Senirs have to pay 6000 dollars a year for health coverage.
That is Seniors.
Nothing nefarious. She just loves her some PBO.
I noticed he’s looking down at her hand in his chest. Flashback of that evil witch Jan Brewer, maybe.
I thought he may have flashedback, too, as I did—and, then, “what a contrast!”
exactly! but i think this lady has something else in mind.
what, I wonder?
I think so, too.
I gotta go back to work just pokin’ my head in. later everyone.
Still Bad at His Job
by BooMan
Wed Mar 7th, 2012 at 12:40:08 PM EST
The Speaker of the House is still really bad at his job.
“The good news is we have a winning message. The bad news is that in order for that message to mean anything, we have to back it up with action.” -John Boehner, in a closed-door meeting with his caucus this morning.
The bad news for Republicans in the House of Representatives is that they actually have to do something. You know, like fund the surface transportation in this country before funding runs out at the end of the month. But Boehner can’t get that done, so he’s left begging and pleading with his own members to be reasonable.
http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2012/3/7/12408/57960
Their message is that “government sucks/is evil.” So, then, how could he expect his TeaPotty caucus to actually…….GOVERN?!?!
Governor Perdue looks at POTUS like I would!! Yikes!
Such a contrast to that self-important Jan Brewer.
CHECK FOR DROOL ON HIS TIE…OH SECRET SERVICE?????…SWOONING IN PROGRESS!
LOL!!!!! Gov Perdue is standing awfully close to POTUS. And what is she doing to his tie???? Even he’s looking down at her hand, like….”what’s wrong with my tie Bev?”
LOLz!!!! What is it with these governors swooping in so close??!
Ummmmm…Gov Perdue was a tad bit too close to our Beloved President. It didn’t seem threatening but she was just a tad bit too close. Looked like she was doing something to his shirt. ummmmmm…just a tad bit too close.
lol, I have a wild imagination.
1 button or 2 Mr President, says NC Governor as she looks at him with loving eyes. <3
Bowchickabowow.
I’m sure you guys are just joking. Gov. Perdue respects President Obama. No drooling and all that stuff.
‘It can’t be scored’
By Steve Benen – Wed Mar 7, 2012 12:35 PM EST.
For the second time in as many months, Mitt Romney unveiled another tax plan recently, and this one was intended to make his party’s far-right base even happier. There’s a lot for a conservative to like: major new tax breaks for the wealthy, slashing the corporate tax rate, and eliminating estate taxes altogether.
The non-partisan Tax Policy Center published a fairly detailed analysis of Romney’s new proposal and found that it’s not only heavily tilted to benefit the rich, it also would make the deficit much worse — by nearly a half-trillion dollars in 2015 alone — because the former governor has made no effort to explain how he’d pay for these unnecessary tax breaks.
The Republican frontrunner talked to CNBC’s “Squawk Box” this morning, and defended his odd approach to fiscal responsibility.Pat Garofalo ran this partial transcript of Romney’s comments:
“What I say is we’re going to cut the top marginal rate across-the-board by 20 percent, and at the same time, we’re going to limit deductions and exemptions to pay for most of that and then additional growth will pay for the rest of that such that our plan doesn’t increase the deficit. [...]
“I haven’t laid out all the details of how we’re going to deal with each one of the deductions and exemptions, so I think it’s kind of interesting for the groups who try and score it because, frankly, it can’t be scored because those kinds of details are going to have be worked out with Congress.”
Even for Romney, this is just weak. As WonkBlog noted this morning, “A tax plan that can’t be scored because it doesn’t include sufficient details is not a plan…. [Romney] has a statement about what he would like a reformed tax system to include: lower rates for everyone. But that’s cake-and-ice-cream stuff. All the hard questions — which tax breaks to close, for instance — remain unanswered, and it doesn’t appear that he plans to answer them anytime soon.”
http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/07/10601579-it-cant-be-scored
Okay someone has to say it: Romney is DUMB. He’s been blessed with a famous name, good looks (!) and a ruthlessness that is attractive in corporate America, but he’s dumb. He’s flat-out stupid and is so insecure as to surround himself with people who are dumber than he is in order to not feel so dumb (although that just makes tax plans with no plan and bitching at PBO for not having a particular trade deal which was passed in 2011……)
He’s had nothing to do for the last 6 years but cash his checks from Bain and learn how to be a presidential candidate. I wouldn’t accept this from my 13 year old goddaughter running for grammar school class president. He knows a frighteningly small amount about foreign policy, doesn’t care about anyone but his small bubble.
Now, he will be what he does well: he will be ruthless, he will lie outrageously, and get some of the low-information voters to believe his b.s. But this growing discomfort with him is getting more and more uncomfortable. He’s creepy.
And DUMB.
I hear you 57&f, and despite the tale of a Harvard degree, I agree. In fact he reminds me of Limbaugh’s recent statement that ‘Overeducated doesn’t mean intelligent’. You make an interesting point that Willard ‘is so insecure as to surround himself with people who are dumber than he is’. It strikes me as one way to explain the fact that he doesn’t have up-to-date campaign information and constantly shares info that proves he’s not on top of the issues as they unfold. In short he hasn’t a real clue what he’s talking about! I can’t remember a time since his campaign has started when he’s been convincing enough for me to feel really threatened by his command, ‘presidential’ or otherwise of any issue. Keep this rich tool away from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Americans!
Say on, say on, say on!
Willard: My tax plan is not to be believed.
The Military Doesn’t Much Like GOP Hawks Right Now
===============
For all the GOP’s muscular talk on Iran and its pledges to increase military spending, there’s one place those calls aren’t quite resonating: Within the military.
Whether it’s war with Iran or intervention in Syria, GOP leaders like Mitch McConnell and John McCain and presidential candidates like Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum, have been experiencing push-back from the Pentagon and military veterans over commitments to another military engagement.
================
http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2012/03/military-doesnt-much-gop-hawks-right-now/49610/
That’s what incenses me about the right wing: they’re very cavalier about sending other people’s sons, daughters, husbands and wives to fight and die for their pet causes.
Even more interesting is how a common mntra of theirs is that the President has to listen to “The generals on the ground” until, of course, the generals on the ground don’t agree with them, and then it’s “The President is the C-I-C and shouldn’t have the generals on the ground dictating policy.”
They love military action but they really and truly despise the actual military people who have to take the actions.
Just great photos again from this visit. I never tire of looking at all those joyful faces at President Obama’s appearances, all those hands reaching out to touch and connect with him. I look and smile with great satisfaction every time. Thanks, chippy, for your usual prompt posting. So appreciated.
I love this car. I wish it were an electric car. I watched the video about the new electric cars out there and I will be buying a Chevy Volt this summer. If I need to go long distances, I will just rent a car for long trips but for local driving and commutes an electric car is the ticket.
Hey JoJo. My husband took a Volt for a test drive and came home all excited like a man who tried out a space ship. I want one too but we have to wait a little longer. Enjoy your Volt when you get it.
Lol Chip—-you guys went crazy like a fox on Andrew from Buzzfeed
All I haz to say is “You mad, bro?”
He mad? Yeah, he mad.
You have my dying over here LL—-
Because 77 seconds is elventymillionbillion times more damning than 3 seconds.
Scraping at the lint on the shag carpet.
Hahaha…..Thanks for the inspiration LL and LOL. This is what I tweeted Andrew in response.
Love it!!
Chips, where is that picture of PBO and Miche standing in front of the US Ambassador’s residence in England. The one where she’s in a black Calvin Kline dress. It’s doctored so that the words “He(You) Mad?” is by PBO and the response “yeah, he mad” are by Miche. I think I saw it on one of the previous threads the other day. Perhaps someone can send that to Mr. BuzzFeed.
Ah Lisa, I missed that! Was it like this one?
Or this:
Ha, LOVE this one!
yes. but PBO has this expression on his face. I think they were talking to a reporter or something and both Miche and PBO responded to the guy. Then someone added “he mad?” by PBO and Miche expression was almost like PBO’s and the words by her were “Yeah, he mad.” it’s hilarious. I could swear I saw someone post it here in the last few days.
Lisa, it was during that England visit, and with the help of these very photos, that I consciously realized that POTUS and FLOTUS often had the same facial expression when they were together, even when they hadn’t looked at each other. At the time I thought it said a lot about their connectedness.
Just saw the second picf. Yeah, Chips, this is the one!!!!
It’s a hoot of a pic, completely forgot it, thank you for the reminder Lisa!
Hey Lisa. I think you mean this picture.
photo/1
thanks UT. I love that pic and the comments added to them!
I wish I was on twitter. This that’s the image I would have sent to Andrew Buzzkill.
I love this picture. But I’m guilty. I love my OBAMAS!!!!!!!!!
He mad because he a 22-year-old college kid struck stupid by a strange kind of fame digging dirt. Useful though, but not any better than Rachel Maddow’s group does all the time and to some targeted purpose.
Unfortunately, his last name brings back memories of Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. The Unabomber, remember, was a child prodigy and became a little crack-witted after a while. Lived in the wilderness for extended periods. No connection, but interesting.
(I don’t THINK there’s a connection.)
Hahahahahaha – you twitter peeps are on JAM!!!!!
I LOVE IT!!!!!
The press has to release their breathless “scoops” and then can’t take the heat when it becomes obvious they don’t know how to conduct basic research. JERKS.
I LOVE the picture of our energetic President standing under the sign: “American Energy” How appropriate!
I was thinking the same thing carolyn….our presidential american energy rabbit..always on the go.
I personally think of it as the obvious contrast to Mitt Mania.
AMERICAN (OBAMA) ENERGY ………in direct opposition to ………..MITT MANIA
Maybe the governor is asking for a cabinet position in his next administration since she isn’t running for re-election…..
I came back via Smartypants and brought a gift with me. Who knows maybe someone else brought it already, but I couldn’t resist.
http://immasmartypants.blogspot.com/2012/03/ed-henry-three-strikes-and-youre-out.html?showComment=1331149390556#c4953353095277116419
What is the Gov. doing? It looks like she’s unbuttoning his shirt or something lol
YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS MINE!..LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Looks like she’s trying to get him to fall for the old “you got something on your shirt”/nose flick trick
And they say we men have dirty minds. Tsk tsk.
Oooooh! Just saw the pictures, C. Thanks gurl chile!
:lol; Seems to me Obama Energy ,,,oops!… American Energy is the opposite of Mitt Mania.
from Axelrod about Willard:
If Romney couldn’t stand up to “the most strident voices in your party how can he stand up to Ahmadinejad?” Axelrod asked. “How are you going to stand up to the challenges of the presidency? These are tests. Presidential campaigns are tests. You are tested every single days in different ways. The Limbaugh thing was a test of leadership, and you have them all the time, and Mitt Romney has failed those tests in the campaign.”
so true!! every time robme says some off-topic, weird, embarrassing thing, i think of how that would play in an actual national crisis. okay, have to include some shrub quotes now:
‘rarely is the question asked, is our children learning?’
‘i think we need not only to eliminate the toll-booth to the middle class, i think we should knock down the tollbooth.’
‘first, let me make it very clear, poor people aren’t necessarily killers. just because you happen to be not rich doesn’t mean you’re willing to kill’
‘i know how hard it is for you to put food on your family.
and, best of all: ‘they misunderestimated me.’
i honestly don’t think i could withstand another incoherent presidency. and neither can the world.
LOL. I’m just getting to read the thread, and that first one is priceless. That’s when I knew America is ridiculously undereducated as a whole.
Sooooo pefect Ronmey could not and will not stand to the bully fat guy who attacks
inocent women much lesss to the problems of the world.
POPCORN ALERT******** Now showing in theaters. “When Morons attack each other” Starring Breitbart.com and Buzzfeed.com
Apparently, this IS THE BOMBSHELL video Breitbart had, but because it is as innocuous as a baby yawning- Breitbart.com is now claiming Buzzfeed selectively edited the tape. And they have more footage from the same event which they will show on Hannity tonight- you know, they need time to selectively edit it themselves. DIS KIND OF STOOPID MUS HURTZ
Apparently, the “full tape” will be shown on Fox news tonight. I hope someone records and uploads it (sans Hannity frothing at the mouth while showing various black and white clips of WW2 era Europe and 1960′s Black Panther meetings). I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.
what is this about?
Grade A Right Wing BS. A couple of weeks Andrew Breitbart (who recently passed away) claimed he had secret never before seen footage of a young Barack Obama in college being a radical, race baiting, blah blah. And he would show this bombshell video to the public during the General Elect. After his untimely death, the schedule was moved up to show the video in the next few weeks.
However, Andrew Kazincksy (sp) from Buzzfeed scooped Breitbart and showed a longer clip of the video, than the public had seen. Obviously, the Barack Obama we know now was the same Barack Obama back then- so the video was non- controversial. And if anything, showed a maturity seen in few college students.
So, now Breitbart.com is mad cuz someone scooped their Bombshell video which they haven’t had time to selectively edit.
Thanks. What utter b.s. indeed. I’d heard about the play about (gasp!) Saul Alinsky but didn’t know this newest amount of b.s.
they’re desperate! here’s a sitting president, making decisions every day, signing his name to important documents, offering three years worth of material for them to attack. oh, except they really can’t attack his record. hmmm–well, let’s make fun of his college hair-do. that’s what they’ve come to.
…not to mention making up crap if they can’t find anything.
Obama gets North Carolina labor love
MT. HOLLY, N.C. — After giving a triumphant speech to the United Auto Workers last week, President Obama visited a truck plant where he was greeted by UAW members who let their union membership be known.
He was introduced by Juan Smith, who worked for Daimler Trucks North America for three decades, and in thirty years. For all the talk that labor is disappointed in Obama, Smith nevertheless included a shoutout to the local UAW — many who chanted “four more years” at one point during the speech.
And, as Obama toured the plant, many of the workers he met were wearing local UAW T-shirts that on the back read “if you sell it here build it here” and “buy American buy union.”
———
Willard needs one of those UAW T-shirts…
This is beautiful…
it is an iranian girl singing adele
Saw that—-also thought she was great. She’s only 13, right? Music is indeed the universal language.
Thank you so much for this–It’s easy to hear a politician say we need to bomb Iran and the image of this young woman is not what I see as a consequence–This video reminds me of my daughter and I take a moment and pray–please God let us re-elect our President. This young woman deserves the same chance to live and thrive as my daughter.
Beautifully stated Diane. Thank you for that.
Exactly. Similar thoughts were going through my mind as I was watching the video, then I scrolled down and saw your comment. It’s so sad how we human beings so easily forget each others humanity.
Is she really only 13? Wow.

It isn’t just immigration: Latinos agree with Dems about jobs, too
By Greg Sargent
The debate over how badly Republicans have damaged themselves among Latinos during the nomination battle understandably focuses on their efforts to woo primary voters by outshouting one another with ever-more-incendiary immigration rhetoric. But what if Latinos also agree with Dems about health care, jobs and the economy?
A new national poll of Latino registered voters by Univision News/ABC/Latino Decisions has some very interesting findings that cast doubt on GOP chances of making inroads among them:
* Fifty-five percent of Latinos think the best way to help the economy grow is for government to “invest resources in federal projects to stimulate the economy.” Only 31 percent favor lowering taxes to get the economy going again.
* Sixty-one percent of Latinos trust Obama and Dems to make the right decisions to improve the economy, versus only 24 percent who pick Republicans.
* Fifty-seven percent of Latinos say Obama’s health reform law should be left to stand, versus 28 percent who support repeal.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/it-isnt-just-immigration-latinos-agree-with-dems-about-jobs-too/2012/03/07/gIQARXQFxR_blog.html
I’d read a poll a few weeks ago where the Latino community was more interested in jobs and health care than immigration.
From this poll, it appears Latinos understand that good benefits of ACA better than a lot of people out there, seniors being one group that should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t care what lies Romney and the rest tell you, your own Medicare statement of benefits says that ACA is giving you preventive services never covered by Medicare before and is fixing the odious donut hole.

Southern Discomfort
By Ed Kilgore
You can’t go too far wrong by assuming that anything Newt Gingrich says is off in some serious respect. Yet one completely irrational thing he keeps saying appears to have sunk into the collective unconscious of the chattering classes: Mitt Romney must win in the South before he can win the nomination.
My first reaction to that is: why? Are votes at the convention weighted by region? Is the South the principal battleground region in the general election? Does the South exert some sort of emotional demand on the GOP that must be satisfied?
And my second reaction is: didn’t Romney win in Florida and Virginia, former states of the Confederacy? Now it’s true much of Florida feels about as “southern” as New Jersey, and that Gingrich ran even with Romney in the Dixified northern part of the state. It’s also true that Mitt didn’t have to face Santorum or Gingrich in VA. And for that matter, I used to tease my extremely self-conscious Cavalier colleague Will Marshall that Virginia was merely a “border state.”
http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal-a/2012_03/southern_discomfort035876.php
Lawrence nailed this last night: He said it doesn’t matter about the actual Southern states — we know who the racists are going to vote for. It’s that particular conservative mindset in the swing states that Romney has a real problem with: OH, PA, MI, etc. A good number of them are just uncomfortable enough with Romney to weigh his awesome Republican-ness against a good factory job and the promise of a bonus, due to PBO’s excellent leadership.
President Obama’s reelection campaign said Wednesday that the prolonged Republican primary is hurting its fundraising.
Obama’s campaign team said the GOP fight in general is good for Obama, but chief strategist David Axelrod said it isn’t the best for filling Obama’s coffers.
“I do think it’s easier to raise money when you have one opponent,” Axelrod said in a press call.

King of Maine
By Ed Kilgore
So former two-term indie governor of Maine, Angus King, threw the race to succeed Sen. Olympia Snowe into some disarray by announcing his candidacy, running again as an independent. According to conveniently timed polling from PPP, King runs ahead of any proposed configuration of Ds and Rs, even defeating the most popular Democrat, Rep. Chellie Pingree, whom Maine Democrats and progressives nationally had been encouraging to run.
Pingree is a close friend of King’s, and may well not run (if she’s going to, she needs to get a move on to collect signatures to get on the primary ballot; the deadline is March 15).
For Democrats, King is a mixed blessing. He’d likely smoke any Republican in the field if he were to receive open or not-so-open Democratic backing. He’s a social progressive. He endorsed Kerry in 2004 and Obama in 2008 (after backing W. in 2000). DSCC Chair Patty Murray did not rule out the possibility of Democrats eventually supporting him, though you’d have to guess he’d first have to promise he’d caucus with Democrats.

The Romney Curve On Wage Pricing
Posted by Zandar
The Marquis de Mittens and Larry Kudlow get their monocles and harrumphing on over the soshulist redistribution ploy known as “minimum wage”. Now, Kudlow’s bad enough by himself…
“A lot of conservatives led by the Wall Street Journal editorial page were horrified when you said you want to index the minimum wage for inflation,” CNBC host Larry Kudlow said. “They said, look, that’s just going to raise the minimum wage. That’s going to raise the unemployment rate, especially for young people, especially for minorities. Why do you want to raise the minimum wage?”
Yeah, let’s pause here for a sec. In Kudlow’s world, raising the minimum wage equals more unemployment, because really jobs exist out there where $7.25 an hour is just too awful. Why, if we cut that in half, we could hire twice as many people and lower unemployment, especially for minorities (because hey, menial labor is all those people are good for.) Heck, we eliminate the minimum wage, we could have zero unemployment! Utopia accomplished! Sure, it’s not like $3.50 a hour is a living wage or anything, but we can call it “workfare”.
Meanwhile Mittens devours his own foot again.
Just look at Mitt Romney. Remember that come November.

Amen!!!!!!!!!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, THE SLEEPY PRIMARY!!
Flippin’ hilarious!!!
It’s been a hard day’s night. Leave the man alone he is bored.
more mitt mania!
by the way, chips, those mitt mania photos are killin’ me!! love the old bearded guy in the rumpled suit (possibly a retired lecturer in ancient history?) somebody please tell him he was not invited to give a talk, so he can go home!
OMG……this is bizarro world these days. Can we get on with the real campaigns already.
OMG! I love this!
By Lynn Sweet on March 7, 2012 12:47 PM | No Comments
WASHINGTON–After the 2008 SuperTuesday votes, David Plouffe, the Barack Obama’s campaign manager–now a White House strategist–argued that the window for Hillary Rodham Clinton to catch up to Obama in the delegate chase was close to mathematically impossible. Seemingly taking a cue from the Plouffe playbook, the Mitt Romney team on Wednesday–the day after SuperTuesday 2012–put out a memo by Rich Beeson, the Political Director, making the case that Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul cannot close the gap.
Beeson: “Super Tuesday voting significantly increased Governor Romney’s delegate lead and makes it increasingly difficult for any of his opponents to catch him. To date, Governor Romney has won more than 50% of all delegates awarded and now holds nearly 40% of the 1,144 delegates needed to win the nomination.”
AND SO….WHAT????
President Barack Obama jogs across the tarmac to a waiting crowd at the North Carolina Air National Guard Base in Charlotte
compare this to newt falling asleep!
I was about to say that
Amen, Mr. President AMEN!
Thank God for Chips and her extraordinary work tracking the remarkable President Obama! What has this country done to deserve the blessing that is this President?
How Ironic…..I post this and Martin Bashir has him on the show and allows him to lie about Sandra Fluke
So many great comments, links and issues.
For the first time I’m divulging personal info: I’m a new “nana” and would have announced it 2 days ago but’ is it’s been an extremely touch and go situation. My new grandson, is VERY premature (but a fighter). His mother had to consent to this c-section because she went to the hospital because of severe headaches, off the charts high blood-pressure, and swollen extremities, i.e., she was about to stroke .
Anyway, where I am now is that it’s promising that both will pull through and I finally feel a modicum of relief and sanity. Thank you, TOD family for allowing me share this personal information.
Pamela, I had the same experience with my son. I didn’t have the headaches but my blood pressure was high enough that I had to spend 2 weeks on strict bed rest at the hospital and ended up having some renal failure. Luckily the Drs were able to hold me off until I reached 36 weeks. 8 years later, my son is running us ragged and participates in all the sports and games he possibly can. With your love and support, your grandson will be doing the same
. Congratulations to you and your family and thank you for sharing the good new with us!
Bless you, Olivia, for your response and encouragement. My grandson is at 32 weeks but the good news is that my D-I-L experienced this with my first grandchild and new grandson seems stronger from the outset.
So wonderful to hear that your doctors were able to save you and your son. THIS is why we cannot allow “Obamacare” to be repealed.
Again, thank you for sharing your experience and encouragement.
Congratulations, Pamela! I am sending all positive thoughts to you & your family. My son was premature, just under 4 lbs. He grew into a fine man, now 41 and weighing way over 4lbs, lol. Being a Granny is just the best thing ever!
Pamela, your new grandson is lucky to have a nana like you. I’m glad he and his mom will pull through and I’m sure the love you give them makes a big difference.
Wonderful news Pamela, wishing mother and baby only the best.
(Forgive me for posting this twice, I said this in the below post as well). Congratulations, Pamela! So glad to hear that your daughter and new grandbaby have pulled through! Positive thoughts and prayers to you.
{{{PB53}}} Sending positive vibes and quiet prayers your way, and the way of your grandson and his mother.
Be encouraged. Modern medicine can do wonders in these cases., especially with a ‘fighter’. I don’t normally share really personal info either, but I remember how I was helped by shared stories years ago. Here sits the mother of an 875 grams, 26+ weeks premie who had to have heart surgery to close the PDA valve. My one hand covered his body months after birth and my actual first glimpse of him on the day of delivery was a polaroid picture that was all wires. Not kidding. They were stabilizing him for transportation to the NICU at a major hospital. He spent three months in the neonatal ward as they wouldn’t release him until he got to 5lbs. Today he is taller than me, smarter than me (though I don’t tell him this), musically talented, and in his second year of university. Hang in there! VC
What a beautiful story, VC. You had me in tears.
Don’t tear up. While it’s true that the beginning was hard, I think of him as my very own living miracle,
who is charting paths I will never trod. He entered university with Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 10 honours piano and Grade 8 clarinet. I, on the other hand, am really tone deaf. A funny, but ego-hurting, memory In his younger years was this cheeky little preemie whispering to me ‘That’s not what they’re singing, Mom’ when I tried to raise my voice in song. I won’t even mention that he himself is not a singer.
As I implied before, there’s lots happening with preemies that wasn’t possible at previous points in our history, and I wish PB and her family the very best.
Amazing and so thankful you shared this personal information. I can’t imagine going through what you did.
I’d also like to thank all the rest of you wonderful folks for your kind words and blessings. This is truly a beautiful community.
Aw, Pamela — positive energy being sent your way. Hugs to you, your daughter-in-law, the baby (of course), your son and anyone else. But mostly, know that you are enveloped in many loving arms here at TOD.
all the best to you and your new grandbaby and his mother. My daughter was only 3poounds eleven ounces. Now she is a beautiful young lady. Your grandson will be just fine.
Thinking of you and your family during this very uncertain time. Modern medicine is an amazing thing. Please let us know.
Congrats Pamela. Sending love and good wishes.
Thanks for sharing the great news, Pamela!! Congratulations on the new addition. I’m so glad to hear mom and baby are doing okay.
May I suggest this idea for a lovely gift for the little one ?

Blessings to you, your DIL and your new grandson – many happy days as a grandmom.
Congrats to you, new granny
Seriously, I will say a prayer for your daughter and new baby.
Congratulations. Sending good wishes your way for mom and baby. Much joy to you all.
Now this is sort of off topic, hope you forgive me to it, but just read something on cnn and noticed there are limits to my understanding in US politics…
Now here´s on the primaries:
“All of this is something close to a worse-case scenario for Republicans. Romney can’t deliver a knockout punch, but Santorum, Gingrich and Paul can deny him the nomination even if they can’t win it themselves.”
So…given the case this happens… what happens then? Do they just bitchfight over the nomination while PBO can continue to watch and be amused?
IMO, they will “bitchfight” over the delegates & the nomination at their convention.
*stocks up on her popcorn supplies*
I might actually have to tune in to the GOP convention this summer.
Until the Republican convention, perhaps. Then the lesser guys will probably give up and tell their delegates to go over to Mitt Romney. Unless there’s some kind of floor fight which I can’t remember happening lately. Can anyone remember a floor fight in the last 70 years? It would be fun to watch, I guess. But as Axe said, PBO’s fund raising might not be robust until there’s one opponent chosen for the president. Gingrich’s persistence sounds like simple revenge, Santorum’s like insanity.
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign plans to release a 17-minute documentary next week about his first term in office.
Campaign manager Jim Messina says the documentary was directed by Davis Guggenheim, whose credits include the Academy Award-winning, “An Inconvenient Truth,” about Al Gore’s global-warming campaign.

34 and Counting
By Ed Kilgore
The growing ad boycott of Rush Limbaugh’s show by former (or occasional) sponsors, fed by rather massive social media pressure, is now becoming nearly as big a phenomenon as anything the old windbag himself says. According to Think Progress’ running count, 34 companies have now yanked or foresworn ads on the show. No one seems to know how many sponsors Rush has left (LifeLock and Lear Capital have announced they are sticking with the show), but the names on the “no go” list include some pretty big corporate titans, including Sears, AOL, Capitol One, JC Penney, and Netflix.
The right-wing blogosphere has been pretty quiet about this exodus, even as it continues to play the so’s-your-old-man game of trying (in vain) to find some lefty equivalent of Limbaugh.
As I’ve said all along, it’s good grim fun to watch a smug, self-righteous, inveterate bully get bullied for a change. If there is a Purgatory, we all may spend a few extra days paying for this schadenfreude, but at the moment it seems worth it.

uh, no ed. our purgatory has been living on the same planet with flush for all these years.
UAW marching in unity for civil rights
For the first time in modern history, African-American and Latino civil rights leaders, labor, women’s rights groups and other supporters of democracy are uniting to fight today’s civil rights struggles against voter suppression and anti-immigrant laws.
Thanks for posting all these, defytheodds. This is expected to be major once all said and done. I really wished I could have gone, if just for the past history.
So cute, director of baby outreach.

Oh my goodness, what a handsome little person.
Sorry it posted twice. Don’t know how I did that.
Glad to look at it twice. What an adorable baby!
Ditto! Twice is nice.
I totally have to have that shirt in pink for our wee Elena. She promises to be a very militant female at not quite 6 months of age!
Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell signs ultrasound abortion bill
Gov. Bob McDonnell today signed contentious legislation mandating that a woman undergo an ultrasound before having an abortion, sending the measure on a course to Virginia’s law books.
The approval comes amid persistent pressure from women’s-rights demonstrators to spike the legislation, which in its original form would have required many women to undergo an ultrasound with a vaginal probe.
http://www2.timesdispatch.com/news/virginia-politics/2012/mar/07/7/lawmakers-trade-more-barbs-on-arrests-of-protester-ar-1747623/
Excerpt:
Under Virginia’s measure, a woman would be required to undergo a transabdominal ultrasound at least 24 hours before having an abortion to determine the gestational age. If the information cannot be found that way, the woman would be offered a vaginal ultrasound, and may refuse.
The woman would be given the opportunity to view the image, receive a printed copy and hear the fetal heart beat. A printed copy of the image would be kept in the medical record for at least seven years.
House Bill 462, sponsored by Del. Kathy J. Byron, R-Campbell, exempts women who are victims of rape or incest if they reported the attack to law enforcement, a provision that anti-domestic violence advocates say “adds insult to injury for victims of sexual assault.”
“Sexual assault victims have acute and long-term medical needs and no victim should ever be forced to report to law enforcement in order to avoid costly and unnecessary medical procedures when seeking health care,” Kristi VanAudenhove, co-director of the Action Alliance, said in a statement when the exemption was added.
What if the insurance company won’t pay for this NOT medically necessary procedure ?
May this sit on the head of McConnell and the Republicans in the Virginia legislature like a lead weight and cause them untold problems in any future elections. McConnell is a one-termer and I hope he spends the rest of his life in the private sector trying to live this disgrace down. He is unfit for public office. As for the VA legislature–throw the bums out!!
I thought I read on here that McConnell was term limited. Are the governors of VA limited to serve only one term? If so I see where term limits do not help keep governors from doing bad things as has been suggested that only people in office several terms become jaded and corrupt inorder to keep their office.
Maybe I meant ODonnell. I am confused on the governor of VA’s name.
It’s astounding how these creatures can so-called “moralize” what a woman should/can do with her very own body and family life, yet cannot see the demoralization they commit when hating a person for the color of their skin. Apparently they have not read the part of scripture that says God is no respecter of persons. They are as guilty of sin as they claim others to be for the things they disdain.
Chips, now, that’s a cool of PBO…No, Really!
I screwed up my own little joke—I forgot “picture” that’s why I’m on the blog—not on stage!
in that second picture with the governor, he’s like “Uh, lady? You might wanna back up because I’m, like, married and whatnot.”
To quote Dewayne…..Hey hey hey….LOL ! You see what I see.
You know, I am very blessed and grateful to have a terrific job, but doggone it, I miss so much because I have to work. Thank you Chips for all your great work.
Totally off track, but I have noticed that in only 6 days, there has been another 150,000 hits on TOD, which means Chips will break through the 9 million mark by around April 10th. Let’s all meet at Chips’ house to celebrate when that happens. I’ll bring the dip.
What a marvelous idea! I’ll bring some veggies if you sponsor the plane ticket.
I’ll be happy to sponsor it, just as long as it doesn’t cost me anything.
Rats, I thought I’d be able to slide through the airport radar before you realized you’d agreed to the cost.
Yeah Chips when are you inviting us over to your house???????
I think we ARE in Chip’s house. Here at TOD. She offers refreshments like cake on birthdays, I’ve seen coffee, hot chocolate on cold days, a table with lots of bottles of booze, a leftover chip and warehouse filled with mats. Your choice on whether to sit a spell or lay down and rest.
So I would say she extended the welcome, folks heard the call and over 8.1M people stopped by.
Thanks for all you do.
You are right, Nospin! And you forgot the bestest part – she always shares her picture albums with us!
Such a gracious and friendly hostess she has been too. Never offended, even when we complain about her not spending enough time with us on certain days. Heck she even joins some of you on the naughty mats, at times so you won’t feel self-conscious.
( Me, I’ve been striving hard to stay off the naughty mat, just so I can brag.)
Well said nospin!
I will bring the sparkling champagne and sparkling grape juice for those who do not drink
Oi you, you better bring more than the dip – I’m thinking champagne, gallons of the stuff!
Personally, I can’t stand champagne. Now a good 17 year old Scotch, that would be great.
Sarkozy endorses Obama!
Now, that is interesting.
Ugh, that’s an endorsement I could do without.
Well, the Republicans always say that PBO wants to turn our country into something like Frace. Now they will use this as proof. Believe it or not, this will turn off some voters.
I doubt it. Most voters couldn’t care less about Sarkozy — or even know who he is.
I’m not sure Japa, I think the types who would be influenced (negatively) by the endorsement of a French president are unlikely to have voted for PBO in 2008, and highly unlikely to vote for him in 2012. You know, the stupid people who called these freedom fries:
Chipsticks, I wrote to Hatch about that, giving him a history of the word “French Fries” that they actually originated in Belgium and are called French Fries only in America. Moreover, that French Toast originated in upper New York State (forget where) in a restaurant run by a man called French. He invented the toast and it was advertised as “French’s Toast.”
So Freedom Fries and Freedom toast was really a joke.
Anyway, he wrote me back that that nonsense was only found in the House’s cafeteria and restaurants, that the Senate’s menu was a little more grown up.
The was Senator Orin Hatch, by the way, godforsaken Utah’s own (sigh).
Joan, I love that you wrote to Hatch about this, terrific! It truly was a silly, mindless spell.
We could throw back at them that Mitt speaks fluent French and lived in France for part of his life so who’s the Frenchman?
As could I. Sarkozy won power in part by race baiting the North African population of the banlieus. Fortunately, it seems as if he won’t have his job for much longer.
The race-baiter supreme, LL:

My friend in Paris is chafing at the bit to vote for M. Hollande. And then cast an absentee ballot for PBO! (She’s a dual citizen.)
One of my adult children is living in Germany now. I have been wondering if these new voter suppression laws will make it impossible for our citizens living overseas to partake in American elections now?
Have your child go to this website: https://www.overseasvotefoundation.org/vote/home.htm.
This one should also help: http://www.fvap.gov/
I also live in Germany, ObamaGrandmama, and my sons and I were able to vote for PBO with no problems in 2008. We have requested our absentee ballots again for 2012, and aside from the excellent websites from Liberal Librarian, your child can also contact the American Embassies in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, or the US Consulate in Berlin to request ballots.
On both sides of the pound, these guys always play & re-play the good-old race card in order to gain or hold on to power. When will it ever end?
Can’t spell today–both sides of the “Pond”
Yep, I as a person of color, feel like a frikkin ping pong ball. Just use me at the will, for God’s sake !!
Sarkozy’s effort to hang onto PBO’s sleeve? Maybe hoping it might be interpreted the endorsement is the other way around, or better yet, hoping PBO will endorse him? Seems like Sarkozy doesn’t quite understand PBO’s viewpoint of not meddling in another country’s elections, or maybe he’s just desperate enough to try to use their friendship. Whatever, I’m not worried about Sarkozy. As Chips said, an American who is deterred by this didn’t want to support PBO in the first place.
Sarkozy needs to realize that France, England, Italy, Spain and some others are reaping the seeds that were sown when they attempted to colonize the world. They attempted to carve up every continent on the planet in the name of Jesus too.
Robney raised 11.5 million in Feb.

good morning tod ohana! finally caught up to the end of the thread. power went out here so i was unable to keep the late night lights on last night. big storms in hawaii–flooding, snow, hail. and i could hear the surf pounding from my house, 2 miles inland. no, no–not complaining!
Oh yikes Susanne, that sounds a bit too scary. Although, seeing as you live in Hawaii I’m struggling to have too much sympathy for you!!!
Give her a special rise and shine?
Ha, good idea Jovie! I feel bad about posting ‘Rise and Shine’ when some people are only going to bed, and posting ‘Evening All’ when they’re getting up …… all very confusing!! I’ll just blame it all on DC time.
thanks, jovie, but i’m more of a ‘lights out’ kinda gal!!
thanks, but you’re right: compared to what folks with real winters and real tornadoes and such have suffered, we have nothing to complain about! today, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the flowers are all a-glow. i’ll link to a slideshow that might give you a chuckle–picture of lady standing on her green lawn, in her shorts and slippers, holding a hail stone, for instance.

Hope your family and house came through o.k.
thank you, marsha, we are all fine, and no damage. my husband says the weeds got bigger overnight, though!
Glad you’re safe, but….snow in Hawaii?!?! The End is Nigh!
yes, on the mountains of the big island, there is a good snow show every year–people like to drive up there, fill the back of their truck, and then quickly drive to the beach to have a snowball fight.
here’s a link to a slideshow of last week’s snow fall.

Ad Agency Tells Clients They Will No Longer Place Spots On Limbaugh’s Program |
The list of advertisers pulling their spots from Rush Limbaugh’s radio program continues to grow, and today the first advertising agency announced that they would be pulling all of their clients’ ads from the show. PageOne Advertising, LLC based in Youngstown, Ohio announced today that it would no longer place clients’ spots on Limbaugh’s program.
“No woman, including Ms. [Sandra] Fluke, should ever be subject to the type of insults and vitriol broadcast during ‘The Rush Limbaugh Show’ last week, and no individual or business should wish to be associated with this type of irresponsible behavior,” wrote PageOne President Robert Roach in a letter to the company’s clients, which are primarily based in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
That is key. Rush has been talking about how he isn’t losing local sponsors, but that is exactly what something like this represents.
The GOP front-runner’s campaign released a memo Wednesday from Political Director Rich Beeson that said Romney’s rivals are helping Obama by staying in the race.
“As Gov. Romney’s opponents attempt to ignore the basic principles of math, the only person’s odds of winning they are increasing are President Obama’s,” the memo said.
Romney has said in the past that his fellow contenders have a right to stay in the race as long as they can, and Republicans — including the other GOP candidates — assert that once a nominee is chosen, the party will rally around that person.
“It’s very hard to unify a party when 90 percent of your advertising or more is negative,” Axelrod charged, pointing at Romney as his example. “We try to appeal to the best of people and they appear to be appealing to the worst instincts.”
Remember when a lot of people were calling for Clinton to get out of the race (much later than now), you never heard anythng from PBO’s campaign and PBO made a point of saying the only person who should even be talking about that decision or thinking about it was Clinton. Despite some pretty heated moments, I think that stance as well as his never pushing on the lies about being under fire in Serbia, helped to make the conciliation so much easier. Plus, I think she really developed a major respect for him (more than her husband has) and that is whhy she has worked so hard st SoS.
Actually, japa as honest and positive a campaign PBO ran against Hillary I cannot agree with you about the underfire on the Tarmac in Serbia comment. I watched every single stump speech at that time and PBO did make fun of Clinton’s claims of being under fire while he did his stump speeches. He was not mean but did turn it into a joke. I on the otherhand was abhorred at Clinton’s lying about the incident and even bringing her daughter, Chelsea into the lie forcing her to standup for her lie. I even wondered about what kind of parenting that was to teach your child to lie?
Actually japa, I remember it the other way around. Clintonites, PUMAs, and others in the Democratic party were calling for PBO to get out of the race even though he had more delegates than Clinton. They figured since Clinton had won some big states, PBO should hand his delegates over to her and then accept the position of VP. Even the GOP and McCain team were hounding PBO to get out of the race because they wanted to go one-on-one with Clinton figuring according to all polls she was easier to defeat. No one was even sure if H.Clinton was going to pick PBO for anything let alone VP. The call for Clinton to get out was way way way muted than the siren blaring calls for PBO to “get out now!!!!”
And much to Keith Olbermann’s credit, as the Clinton camp’s attacks became harsher on PBO, he called them out, quite brutally.
that was true.
I remember Bill Clinton suggesting that PBO had time to run again and that he knew Democrats liked them both. His solution was to vote for Hillary now. She’ll serve her eight years then you can vote for PBO and he can serve for 8 years. In other words PBO should wait his turn, whatever the hell that means. The people decide whose turn it is; not Bill Clinton. He even suggested PBO could be VP even though at the time he had more delegates than Hillary. It was a mess and their was no guarantee Hillary’s voters were going to vote for PBO and that was part of the reason McCain chose Palin, hoping to attract the PUMAs.
Union targets Boehner, McConnell over stalled highway bill
A union for construction workers is launching an ad campaign targeting House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) over the stalled highway bill.
The Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) will air radio ads in Ohio and Kentucky, paired with direct mail in both states, that highlight crumbling bridges to make the case for a new multi-year surface transportation reauthorization bill.
Terry O’Sullivan, LIUNA’s president, said lawmakers need to act to fix the country’s deteriorating infrastructure because it is putting people’s safety at risk.
The radio ads went on the air Tuesday in Kentucky and will go live in Ohio on Wednesday. The ads are expected to run in both states for four weeks, right up to the March 31 deadline for the latest highway bill extension, according to a LIUNA spokesman.
The spokesman also said 100,000 direct mail pieces for the campaign could go out as early as late this week, targeting registered voters age 30 and older who have donated to political candidates. Half of that direct mail will go to Kentucky, while the other half will go to Ohio.

now that was funny. Doing my best Tweety impression — HAH!
What is everyone’s opinion on this Kony 2012 movement. I’m completely on the fence right now. Just curious about other people’s thoughts.
Hadn’t heard about it until you mentioned it. Joseph Kony is the definition of evil. What he’s doing in Uganda with the Lord’s Resistance Army beyond reprehensible. For a quick readup, read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Kony.
And to bring Rush Limbaugh into this, when PBO decided to send advisers to Uganda to help them fight the LRA, Limbaugh immediately thought that PBO was attacking a “Christian” rebel group.
I saw the video and at first I was real cynical but now I’m like “why not?” I can’t wait till April 20th to see how it goes.
I wouldn’t mind a SEAL Team going in to get him. But he’s surrounded by child soldiers, which is just heartbreaking.
I think they gotta find him first. Sounds like he’s hiding in the jungle like a good little cockroach.
This video is very moving, thanks Jessica. I hope you will all do what you can to spread this video around. Seems like it was made by a very kind and caring man who is trying to take out a bad guy. It was also nice that the art where President Obama stepped in was mentioned.
I posted it to twitter and Facebook. I looked at the views on the YT video and it’s going viral so that’s encouraging. BTW in case anyone doesn’t know, this is the group that Rush Limbaugh was defending when the President sent a small contingent of military advisors to help fight this guy. He said that because the group is called “The Lord’s Resistance Army” they are Christians and that’s why the President wants to kill them. He had to admit he was wrong on that one.
http://vimeo.com/37119711 My daughter pointed this out to me, and asked that I pass it around. I’m so proud that she is paying attention to the world around her and cares about these atrocities. The more that people know, the more we can help. Pass it on.
Happy wednesday #TOD family..!!
Rush Limbaugh has no heart.
…but if he did: lumpy hate gravy!
Hey y’all! CHECK THIS OUT!! Rare footage of one Barack Obama speaking at a 1991 Harvard rally to protest faculty diversity!
Obama pushes for diversity at Harvard in unearthed early-90s video
The website BuzzFeed has released a video from President Obama’s time at Harvard Law school, showing him pushing for greater diversity among the school’s faculty. Obama’s stance itself is not surprising, but it is one of the few public glimpses of the president before he emerged on the political scene in Chicago, and later Washington. Per BuzzFeed, in 1990, Obama “aligned himself with Professor Derrick Bell’s dramatic protest for diversity on the faculty of Harvard Law School.” [read more here: http://www.thegrio.com/politics/1990-video-shows-obama-pushing-for-diversity-while-at-harvard.php%5D

I’ll try the embed here. Hope it works:
And this very video PROVES that Barack Obama is a radical black nationalist out to destroy the white race and FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!
Okay, now I need to wash my face. I feel dirty being in the mind of the typical Breitbart fan.
Dude! Sounds like someone could use a trip to the spa for a little R&R.
Man, I haven’t been to the spa in years. But then again, ever since I became a librarian, I haven’t been stressed.
Hey, I just caught with the previous thread. Didn’t realize LOL already posted this. Sorry for the repeat guys.
Is this all they’ve got on President Obama????
where were these people in the 2008 Dem Primary? Of course we watched this video of then Young Barack speak out on behalf of diversity at Harvard!!!
if anything it reinforces to me why I love POTUS because he has been ethically consistent whether the cameras were on or not.
this video also provides me with additional understanding of why POTUS PBO felt that he needed to speak out in support of Ms Fluke who is also a young student (like PBO was) expressing her opinion on something she deeply cared about
Yay! Rev Al is talking about the VoteVets campaign to remove Rush from the Armed Forces radio programming!!!!
I really love how Rev. Al has matured as an activist. I grew up watching him in NYC, and never was very impressed. He’s really grown to utilize all the weapons of activism, and he’s fierce in his convictions.
New biopic in the works
———————
http://www.thegrio.com/entertainment/the-butler-forest-whitaker-may-join-oprah-winfrey-in-lee-daniels-film.php
Oprah Winfrey’s return to the big screen may come equipped with an Oscar-winning co-star: Forest Whitaker. According to the Huffington Post, Whitaker is in talks to join Winfrey in Lee Daniels’ upcoming biopic The Butler, which explores the life of Eugene Allen a White House employee who served eight presidents:
Last month, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Oprah Winfrey was negotiating to join “The Butler,” director Lee Daniels’s (“Precious”) biopic about Eugene Allen, a White House employee who served eight presidents between 1952 and 1986. The 58-year-old OWN empress would star as Allen’s wife — a great idea until you read further in the THR story … (more in the article)
Looks like we have an alternative to the Mankini picture. Feast your eyes on… no wait, maybe you better cover your eyes! Ewwww!
http://media.talkingpointsmemo.com/slideshow/newt-gingrich-real-american
Oh. My. God. Dudette, you’re a terror!!
Grrrr!
You know how I know Newt is fucking toxic? The picture just caused the computer in my school computer lab to shut down. I’m like WTF????!!!
U ain’t seen nothing yet. Keep reading down thread, ut!
Btw, the article has a link to what they’re claiming to Newt’s new campaign song — Hulk Hogan video of Rick Derringer’s 80′s anthem “Real American”. Isn’t that the music that PBO used in his birth certificate video at the White House Correspondents Dinner? You know the one that was going on while the Seal Team was busting down Bin Laden’s door?
Sorry dude, that song is taken.
not nearly repulsive enough. think I’ll stick to Mankini. That thing works my gag reflexes like nobody’s business.
you gotta see the pick of Newt below Lisalovesobama. And you know I do LOOVVEEE the mankini picture. But I think I found my new favorite. lol
Oh Lisa… you’re totally right. Mine is nothing. After what nospin and anotherslyfox have just posted, I wanna go find some Pepto Bismal. Wooooweee!
now just picture that covered with…..lumpy hate gravy!
Ahh Dudette No. You haven’t seen the real Mankini until you have seen THIS –> http://pragmaticobotsunite.com/wednesday-obot-link-review-afternoon-open-thread/
Courtesy of POU.
Chips, this is my new favorite pick of the Newtster.
I feel a hurl comin’ on!!!!
I just realized the pic was supposed to be of Rush Limbaugh. It looks just like Newt. lololol
OMG. OMG. OMG……….. bleach and vodka. 8o
Ohhh My!!!!
Have any of you guys seen the Lays Potato Chips commercial? I bet you can guess the name of the song playing. Let’s Stay Together. I was hoping that they might slip the President version in there. But Al Green owe President Obama a big donation cause every since the President sung Rev. Al Green’s song, people have been listening to his music more.
Yep, I think it started running around Super Bowl time. Everytime I hear that song it reminds me of the few bars that PBO sang it.
Dudette, that was my first time seeing it, and I was hoping to hear the President version.
Nothing new, just a reminder that the KOCHs are flexing their muscles from every possible angle to try and stymie our guy. Saw this article on Twitter where they’ve been manoeuvring for complete control of the Cato Institute, which is apparently not libertarian enough in its current form. I share this here not because I support Cato, but to give anyone interested another bit of evidence that enough 1%-ers are determined to rain on our parade and we need to continue to mobilize our ‘umbrella’, namely the voters. PBO and the American people may not be able to beat the dollar input from the 1%, but we sure can beat them with voting bodies if we unite.

‘ ….
Taylor [a senior fellow at Cato]is clearly concerned that Cato will abandon its commitment to a modest defense policy and potentially even its progressive views on gay rights if the Kochs take over. Koch-sponsored board member Nancy Pfotenauer is a former spokesperson for the McCain campaign who argued in support of both the Iraq War and Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell. Koch front man Kevin Gentry is a “social conservative activist.” The Kochs also tried and failed to install John Hinderaker on the Cato board, a right-wing blogger who supports the Patriot Act and the Iraq War and who once called George W. Bush “[a] man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius.” If this is reflective of the Kochs’ vision for Cato, then they want Cato to be nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Republican Party.
Haven’t been on all day, but question. Why is Gov. Perdue touching PBO and why is he looking down like that? Why can’t these women keep their hands to themselves? Good or bad, he is the President and there should be a comfortable space around him, unless he is receptive to the reach. Officials should act like officials. On the other hand, at least she’s cordial. Just my humble opinion !! (It’s not like I’m jealous or anything…
)
I don’t think peeps need to be so defensive with this. Perdue is one of the good gals (no finger shaking) and a friend of Obama’s. I saw it as a loving, caring gesture, straightening his tie or getting a speck of something off his shirt—–something motherly. There is no need to fret about this type of stuff.
If you got that she was straightening his tie, that’s good. I wasn’t fretting, just curious about the propensity to touch him. As you can see from my last sentence, I have humor about this. I just find it a constant with women and PBO , in general. It does catch the eye, after all.
Can you blame them? Any excuse. Here, let me fix that for you. I touched his elbow once (it was all I could get)—–i still remember that day. Sigh.
I know what you mean, dotster, I found myself at an ’08 campaign rally jumping up and down and waving a big ol beauty queen wave. I was 62 at the time so there is no excuse. I don’t know what came over me.

The Story Behind the Obama Law School Speech Video
March 7, 2012, 7:09 pm ET by Andrew Golis
The web is abuzz today about video of a speech Barack Obama gave in 1990 (some reports have incorrectly identified the speech as occurring in 1991) at Harvard Law School defending the actions of Professor Derrick Bell. Bell, the law school’s first tenured black professor, had protested Harvard’s failure to offer tenure to women of color as law school professors. Online publisher Andrew Brietbart, who died last week, had said he possessed the speech and hinted that he would release it, arguing that it provided evidence that Obama has long held radical political beliefs.

Interesting caliber of folks the good people of New Mexico hire to run their cities:
1.New Mexico town elects mayor who called Obama ‘manifestation of evil’
http://www.thegrio.com/politics/new-mexico-town-elects-mayor-who-called-obama-manifestation-of-evil.php
CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) — A former New Mexico mayor who called President Barack Obama “the carnal manifestation of evil” and said Obama’s election was part of a CIA conspiracy has been elected to his former job, according to unofficial resulted. The Clovis News Journal reports that former Clovis mayor David Lansford won his old job back Tuesday by defeating Mayor Gayla Brumfield with almost 63 percent of the votes.
Lansford, 53, recently gained national attention after the newspaper reported his ties to a fringe religious and political group, ATLAH Media Network in New York. After threatening to withdraw from the race, Lansford later changed his mind and stayed in the race but said he felt disclosing his activities was unfair and would prompt others to label him “a whack job.”
Lansford participated in ATLAH’s mock treason trial of Obama and wrote articles for its online publication, calling Obama an illegitimate president under the Constitution and “the carnal manifestation of evil,” claiming Obama’s election was part of a CIA conspiracy. Lansford later told KOB-TV that he didn’t believe Obama had the legal right to be president because he’s “not a natural born citizen.”
ATLAH Media Network has come under fire from the Southern Poverty Law Center who posted details of the group’s trial on the center’s “Hatewatch” blog.” ATLAH’s leader, James David Manning, on various YouTube videos, also has blasted Obama for wanting turn America into an “Islamic Caliphate” and has compared him to a pimp… [read more in the article]

2. N.M. Official Wins Mayoral Race Despite Charges Over Topless Dancer Blackmail Plot
http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/nm_official_wins_mayoral_race_despite_charges_over.php?ref=fpnewsfeed
Residents of Sunland Park, N.M., just elected a brand new mayor — too bad he’s not allowed in City Hall because of some pending extortion charges over an alleged plot to blackmail his opponent with the help of a topless dancer.
On Tuesday, Daniel Salinas unofficially won the mayoral race against Gerardo Hernandez with 51 percent of the vote, with a margin of 84 votes.
Hernandez says he plans to challenge the results since most of Salinas’ votes came from absentee ballots, and there have been concerns that some of those ballots were fraudulent. Four absentee ballots have already been thrown out after they were revealed to have been fraudulently cast by Texans… [read more in the article]
Wow. And I was so looking forward to visiting New Mexico. Always wanted to. I think I’ll just renew my passport and visit outside the country.
I live in NM and this along with the Clovis mayor who thinks that the President is the son of satan, is making me re-think how much longer I want to live here. The whole state is corrupt beyond belief! It’s a beautiful state however and there are some really great people here. Come visit Santa Fe…you’ll love it.
That’s really sad. I have a friend who just moved to Rozwell about 7 years ago. How do the First Americans feel about all of this hate towards PBO? They are who I wanted to see and patronize.
The overflow of AZ crazy….flooded into New Mexico…..we didn’t have enough room to hold all the crazy in Arizona anymore. True story.
That’s exactly what I was going to inquire about. They run from one place to another when the complexions change. We see it here on the east coast all the time. Maybe they should take Newt up on his hope to open up another planet for residency and vacate. I’d feel especially grateful if they did.
So Rush Limpballs says that the sponsors that dropped him were no more than “the french fries you drop out of the bag at the fast food store.” I’m so happy he said that. He just ensured that these “french fries” will never advertise on his program again!
he is a pompous piece of work.
Ed Schultz just announced that Sen Carl Levin (D-Michigan) is calling for Rush to be removed from Armed Forced Radio!

New post everyone:

Sweet fancy moses, Obama’s speech on energy today in North Carolina was withoutany notes or teleprompter and it kicked ass. Can you imagine Willard giving that good of a speech off the cuff? For that matter, can you imagine Willard Romney-Bot doing anything even remotely normal? Obama is going to dismantle Romney and sell him for scrap. I can’t wait…
