okay, cool. I immediately thought of you and your “challenges” with some of your friends and neighbors (and your hubby, right?)
She really seems to get it. She seems to be running for the office for the right reasons. Plus, she’s got the balls to say what needs to be said. She obviously knows her home state and know the people that she is talking to.
I definitely agree she has the “balls” to take on Corker. Exactly what we need. The problem is it’s been years since there’s been any decent/good competition for any of these Republicans here. My rep is John Duncan. He’s been in Congress forever and before him, it was his father. His son is involved in local politics..stepping stone, of course. And, Duncan’s sister was just elected to finish a state Senate seat. Family affair for the Duncans. Alexander has been around forever. Corker little less time.
Yes, you are right about hubby. He’s hiking the AT (in sections). Except for most of June, he will be gone until early-mid September. Of course, back home for those final weeks before the election. The few times he’s been home, I’ve had the opportunity to throw in a few very positive things about PO. The other folks I deal with are two guys on FB. They’ve been quiet lately.
Hi iop and tnmtngirl! I like Ms. Overall too. I’ve been sending that video all over the place. We might not be able to vote for her, but we can sure get the word out about her and, if possible, make donations to her campaign. Imagine watching her replace Bob Corker in the Senate! What sweet satisfaction that would be.
By the way, there’s an actual Progressive Democratic candidate running against Eric Cantor too – Wayne Powell (http://powellforva.com/). Another great opportunity for us to pick up an important seat in the Congress. Now that too would be SWEET!!!
I graduated from college in 1968 and except for visits a few times a year, I didn’t come back until 1998 when we bought this home in Knoxville. WA State caucused for Obama yesterday and I just saw that in my county Obama got 300 delegates…Uncommitted got 6 and Michele Obama got one! Tickled me that someone would stand to be a delegate to the next caucus for FLOTUS.
So, where are the reporters who last week jumped on that brouhaha at this week in paying attention to Romney surrogate Ted Nugent's rant?— Brad Woodhouse (@woodhouseb) April 17, 2012
Democratic? They were Democratic Caucuses. Perhaps you mean they voted for Obama. The Democratic Base totally came out in force to support the President.
Take a good look, Missy Ann, THIS is how you do it; but you can’t fake grace, nor can you buy it.
Michelle Obama: ‘I Don’t Have The Stressful Job. He Does’
To White House outsiders and maybe even more than a few insiders, the life of a first lady would seem to be a fairly anxiety-inducing one. After all, there is no greater fish bowl than 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
So NPR’s Michel Martin, host of Tell Me More, asked First Lady Michelle Obama during an interview scheduled to air Tuesday how she deals with the pressures of being both the president’s wife and the mother of school-age children.
Mrs. Obama, however, didn’t accept Michel’s premise:
“I have to disagree. I don’t have the stressful job. He does. I have the privilege of working on the issues that I choose and the issues that I feel most passionate about.
“There are definitely pressures that come from being in the spotlight, but they are far overshadowed by the amount of great things I’ve been able to do and the impact I’ve been able to have. And to be able to do it in the warmth of the White House and to do it around people who do care about my kids and a country that has been respectful of mu children and their privacy, it has been less stressful than I would have imagined for me.
Some folks can have boatloads of money, Swiss banks full of cash, Cayman Island secret accounts stuffed with dollars, ducats, dinars and dineros, but they will never, ever, NEVER, EVER be able to buy class.
Money has never been able to buy class. Never has. Never will.
And some people, like the Obamas, can come from humble beginnings, work hard for every thing in their lives and instinctively conduct themselves with great class and dignity. These people are born with good hearts and a respect for other human beings and it shows in everything they do. Others, like the Romney’s, are small of heart and spirit and put themselves and their wants first. The result: selfish, loutish, ugly behavior.
@seanspicer Still silent on @MittRomney endorser Ted Nugent's violent NRA rant? He said voters should "chop their heads off". Do you agree?— Melanie Roussell (@MelanieDNC) April 17, 2012
Good question- Mitt will not be able to only focus on the President, he has a lot to answer about!
The House on Tuesday will pass a resolution that will deem the GOP-passed budget resolution as passed for the purpose of setting budget targets as members work on FY 2013 appropriations bills.
The so-called “deeming resolution” is included in a rule setting the terms of debate for a gun rights bill, H.R. 4089, which will also be debated on Tuesday. Republicans on Monday evening released a statement explaining why it is proceeding this way, and pinned it on the failure of the Senate to approve a budget for the third year in a row.
“When the Senate refuses to act, the House must take steps to ensure that it can responsibly proceed with the appropriations and budget process,” the statement said. “This is accomplished through the use of budget enforcement language in a rule, commonly called a ‘deemer’ because it ‘deems’ the House budget levels in place until there’s a joint agreement between the House and Senate.”
This is the kind of obstruction the Republicans have been doing every since President Obama have been in office. Once again looking out for the rich, and not doing a darn thing for the poor and middle class. This recovery would be alot stronger if the Republicans had help President Obama. But yet they put their party welfare ahead of the Americans welfare. And every dog done Republicans deserve to be voted out.
Priorities spends $688K on four state ad campaign
By BYRON TAU | 4/16/12 7:50 PM EDT
The pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA Action is spending $688,000 on their four-state anti-Mitt Romney ad buy.
According to a media buying source, the PAC will spend $145,000 on ads in Ohio, and $422,000 on Florida ads. Priorities will also also spend $33,000 in Iowa and $88,000 in Virginia.
The ad campaign, announced today, is a relatively small buy for a group that has struggled to compete with GOP super PACs like American Crossroads and the pro-Mitt Romney group Restore Our Future.
The small buy is a sign that the group will not be the leveling force that Team Obama hoped it would be. American Crossroads recently went up with a $1.7 million ad buy against Obama in six swing states — dwarfing the Priorities buy.
The Priorities ad buy is set to air until April 20th on broadcast TV only.

XXXXXX,
Today, Diane Sawyer asked Mitt Romney if he had a message he’d like to send the President.
Here’s what he said:
“Start packing.”
How about we send Romney a message of our own? Donate $15 or more to the Two-Term Fund today:
Well, this seems like an appropriate spot for me (I really don’t like attacking other women, as though they’re being led around) to drop this question (your “putrid glory” remark helped push me over the edge): Is it me or has everyone noticed how the Willard campaign has tried to “sex up” AnnR? Maybe even given her tips on taking that stepford wife dull stare out of her eyes? Or is this the most attention she’s gotten in her miserable life, and she’s just enjoying it? She seems to have ditched the 1980′s red suit, as well, and swung over to the blonder, more updated hair, and the tighter clothes. Yuck. It’s embarrassing.
I would think she’s never had the attention before – minding the kids and waiting for dad to get home can be seriously mind numbing – I’ve been there – much as it is an important role – sometimes I screamed to be known as myself and not the mom.
Sarah Palin probably gave her a call about the clothes – about that standard.
This is why I can’t wait for this election to be over – Republicans bring out the worst in all of us because that’s all they have. They are devoid of humanity. This Ann Romney woman has only been on the public scene for a few days, really, and yet I feel more animosity towards her than even Sarah Palin – and that’s saying something. Sarah was vile and hate-mongering, but she was stupid and wily, too. This Ann is so entitled. It’s offensive.
these are a couple of days that we have to remind ourselves that “President Obama has got this …. so those of us who are extra anxious need to chill out” . I am going to do just that – ignore the media and just continue attacking the entitled lying romneys

Hmmm! But but but, we are told on fox news that only single moms and Da blacks, like the President. Well, as you can see in the picture above, it’s just not true!
A passage from Romney’s book, No Apology: The Case For American Greatness, elaborates on this. In it, he argues that children of “nonworking parents” will be conditioned to have “an indolent and unproductive life:”
In some quarters, however, the American work ethic is waning. Some people devote themselves to find ways not to work. Some seem to take a perverse kind of pride in being slipshod or lackadaisical. In many cases, where our work culture has deteriorated, shortsighted government policies share a good part of the blame.
Welfare without work erodes the spirit and the sense of self-worth of the recipient. And it conditions the children of nonworking parents to an indolent and unproductive life. Hardworking parents raise hardworking kids; we should recognize that the opposite is also true. The influence of the work habits of our parents and other adults around us as we grow up has lasting impact.
Mormon’s MUST tithe–remember that this religion has the power to “shun.” If you are shunned then your family, friends etc. have nothing to do with you.
O/T— I personally think EVERY person who plans to vote for Romney should have to spend a week in Salt Lake City. It was an eye opener for me. No coffee pots in a 4* hotel? No soft drink machines? Cigarettes and beer/liquor only available in state run ABC stores? No glass of wine in the hotel lounge UNLESS you bought an entire meal. Clubs offered membership before you could be served a drink. This was just in SLC. In the outskirts it was worse. My trip to walmart for a forgotten essential was an eye opener. Old men walking in front of their subserviant 2 or 3 young wifes (dressed in long dresses) followed by a large gang of children didn’t even get a second glance. In my former job I travelled across the country and this was the most depressing place for me than any city I have visited. I felt so sorry for so many of the women I saw/met. I love God, but hate religions for this very reason. If left unchecked this is what happens.
No freaking way! No coffee, no beer, no wine, no soft drinks? In a city like Salt Lake that calls itself cosmopolitan in every dumb commercial I’ve seen about Utah? How the hell do people in Utah survive with their sanity intact? Women walking behind men in a subservient manner?
So basically the Mormons use the tenets of their religion to oppress everyone around them including tourists. Seriously, what 4 star hotel in any other part of the country doesn’t provide a basic necessity such as coffee? It’s coffee for crying out loud.
Yet the media doesn’t dare address the Mormon religion as it applies to Willard. Instead they foment agitation about PBO by braying about poll after stupid polling telling us what ignorant uneducated racist folks believe and don’t believe about PBO’s religion.
Ann Romney told Diane Sawyer, “It’s our turn now.” This is one of the most offensive statements I can remember in a presidential campaign. I cannot begin to comment on the level of entitlement it expresses. It is no one’s “turn” to be president.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE…OFF TO TUES. BIBLE STUDY CLASS…I PRAY THE PRESIDENT HAS A GOOD DAY…HE’S GOT THIS AND I’M NOT CONCERNED ABOUT MITTENS OR FEEDING HIS BEAST! BLESSINGS ALL…WILL CATCH UP LATER!

That will help!
Byron Tau, the Politico right wing nut right? I don’t care to read anything he writes.
He is crazy, but I like some of the information that only certain snarky reporters are allowed to give us.

How the hell does he know what kind of “force the group will be relative to what Team Obama hoped it would be?”
Tau=FAIL.
True! I bet Hollywood will start donating to that super PAC around Late August!
Just a feeling!
Late August????
I don’t thinks so.
Robney and the RNC has set a goal of 100 million per month.
Good grief. If they can do that…
Jovie dear, sometimes you makes me want to cu my wrists.
Lol! They are trying to intimidate us. They will find, that fundraising the old fashion way is a little more difficult than the super Pacs.

Sarah Palin probably gave her a call about the clothes – about that standard.
Yes, I believe you are right, all around!
THIS!!!
I felt your pain in every word, and share every syllable of expression!
I guess for lil’ Nate and MSM, only “bad news for Obama” counts as news. All the great polls are not news.
Please tweet what you just said to this turdball.
THIS
these are a couple of days that we have to remind ourselves that “President Obama has got this …. so those of us who are extra anxious need to chill out” . I am going to do just that – ignore the media and just continue attacking the entitled lying romneys

We do not get a second chance on 7 Nov 2012 or thereafter. This IS the 2012 equivalent, if not vastly more dangerous, than 1861. No JOKE. NO hyperbole.

Well, just checked in to say good night:) So glad to hear that Hachiko made it to Maine to be with LunarSea…..my son played an absolutely AWESOME lacrosse game tonight! His team won, and I got flowers and a kiss from my son for senior night:) Played with such passion….I love to watch him play and sure will miss this when he graduates….unless he decides to play in college….that’ll be a whole ‘nother ballgame.
Night all.As of 10:43…Romney’s still a lying POS. No changes there.
Teddy needs his Mommy! He is obviously a very lonely Man.
Nugent isn’t a lonely man, he’s a sick in the head racists.
Hmmm! But but but, we are told on fox news that only single moms and Da blacks, like the President. Well, as you can see in the picture above, it’s just not true!
WE ALL LOVE THIS PRESIDENT…FOR GOOD REASON!..:)

No Apology: The Case for American Greatness
You can run, but you can’t hide!
I’m glad that Hachiko and Hunter made it safely to Maine. Thank you and God bless LunarSea and Miss Patt for reaching out to help her.
I’m going to be in the Philadelphia area on Saturday, our local SJ/OFA are going to have car pools on Saturday and Sunday going into PA to help GOTV.
Good night all!
The History channel just said, that Mormonism is the Richest Religion in the US!
Wow!
After I complained about the lack of coffee pot in the room I was told I could have one for an additional $25.00.
Maybe Romney can buy a soul somewhere for $25.00. Or, what the heck, $10,000. After all, Cheney bought a heart.
Ann Romney told Diane Sawyer, “It’s our turn now.” This is one of the most offensive statements I can remember in a presidential campaign. I cannot begin to comment on the level of entitlement it expresses. It is no one’s “turn” to be president.
Maybe Mitt gave her the line one night early in the campaign, when even she was probably saying, “Why are we doing this?”
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE…OFF TO TUES. BIBLE STUDY CLASS…I PRAY THE PRESIDENT HAS A GOOD DAY…HE’S GOT THIS AND I’M NOT CONCERNED ABOUT MITTENS OR FEEDING HIS BEAST! BLESSINGS ALL…WILL CATCH UP LATER!
Good morning, TOD family – another day to spread the word about the President’s vision for America vs. the oligarchy of Romney et al.
Morning everyone:
