It’s ironic 1/3rd of Utah owned by Federal Government. Dugway AFB is gigantic and is rumored to be the next Area 51.
Well, that explains everything about Utah…
The Obama campaign isn’t shy about using the raid that killed Osama bin Laden as a political cudgel. But the White House’s record may get a boost from the GOP’s choice of nominee, whose previous presidential campaign included a spat with fellow Republicans over the relative unimportance of catching the Al Qaeda leader.
In the campaign’s first major election speech on foreign policy, Vice President Joe Biden made extremely prominent use of an April 2007 Romney quote on bin Laden, in which he told the Associated Press “it’s not worth moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person.”
“I was a little more direct,” Biden said in his speech. “We will follow the SOB to the gates of hell.”
Romney’s “heaven and earth” line proved a gaffe at the time as well. Sen. John McCain, who tried to portray Romney throughout the race as weak on national security, told blogger Jennifer Rubin that “it takes a degree of naiveté to think [bin Laden is] not an element in the struggle against radical Islam.”
McCain should be ashamed that he endorsed Romney – especially after his effective attacks in 2008. Shows very little character or personal integrity, and spitefulness.
VP Biden is freaking awesome. He’s direct and blunt but still so lovable and compassionate. I watched his speech and watched it again at 6AM ET on C-SPAN and it was riveting.
On the campaign trail Thursday, Vice President Joe Biden said of the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s foreign policy proposals: “What would Gov. Romney do? The truth is, we don’t know for certain. … To the extent he’s shown any foreign policy vision, it’s through the glass of a rearview mirror.”
Indeed, in the relentless effort to depict President Obama as weak on national security, Romney, his advisers and surrogates have had a hard time letting go of the last century, with references to the “Soviets,” gone these past two decades, and numerous other tells. Biden, self-deprecating about his own renown for verbal gaffes, said the Romney team’s comments befitting Cold War realities are more than mere slips of the tongue—they reflect “a mind-set.”
I can’t wait for those debates — I can’t wait to see VP Biden wipe the floor with whomever Karl Rove/Luntz/Koch etc. select to be their deputy puppet. That will be a fine piece of cinema.
And it’s a great way if getting our message out.
Remember, a lot of News, especially Fox, gives conflates or even false reports on this President accomplishments.
Heck, boner said today that the President is the Emperor with no clothes.
Boy, are some people going to be surprised what the President has done!
I enjoyed every minute of VP Biden’s speech today, he really took it to Romney with the FACTS and Romney’s own words. Can’t wait to see what knucklehead they choose for VP
I just heard from my #2 who is currently residing in LA after spending time in DC and NYC. She and a friend were looking for a way to help the campaign. They decided to do t-shirts that would appeal to the 18-25 year old. They have some cute sayings and she thinks they’ll do well. They’ve done a little market research by polling their friends on whether they’d purchase them and at what price. So far, the response has been pretty positive, except folks asking why so early. They’re considering going all out to have them done and maybe putting them on-line, with some of the proceeds going to the OFA or DNC campaign. hopefully this will work for them.
That is a great idea! Keep us posted Cookemom. I’ve got to get some Tees for my nephews. Sometimes ya know kids are just too cool, and they might want something different from what’s “official”. Actually I’m hoping to get some from outside sources too over the next few years.
Wow! I love my prez and vp. Oh heck I loves my whole first and second family. I thank God these fine people wanted to serve this country at this time and in this way. They both ( and spouses) knew, they knew it was not going to be easy! I think any less skilled and humane president would not be so well liked, popular or respected. It’s just amazing what has been achieved by the Obama administration. I know that years from now ( just based on what has already been achieved) pundits, news folks and historians will marvel at these fine men, their spouses and the whole administration. PBO is a policy wonk, and chief organizer and obviously very good at chooseing personnel! My sister and I say all the time that they are leaving some big shoes to fill. Raising the bar every day!

Now if we had Pelosi as Speaker, she would have been working with the President for the American people. She would not have been working against them like Boehner, McConnell, Canter, and all the other Republicans did. We work have seen jobs bills passed to help the poor and middle class. We’ve got to re-elect President Obama and give the House back to the Democrats.

Vice-President Biden is so in step and in tune with President Obama. Bident has it going on himself. He has a dazzling megawatt smile, also. He’s also cool. He made his points during his speech in such a calm and decisive manner. I enjoyed that. What an intelligent man.

Our wonderful VP mopped up the floor with Willard in that speech. And all Willard could give us was Rubio??? LOL
Even Dick Halperin took notice of VP speech, saying Chicago should be pleased with Bidens performance.
I agree, and moreover, we are pleased!
Chicago? AMERICA should be pleased that Joe Biden is our VP period!
That is what he calls our campaign- Chicago.

Back later
Bashir and Co. had some fun and some giggles about Biden assuring us that President Obama has a big stick.
oh no he di’n say that!
oh dear, you know that a number of people may end up on the Naughty Mat in relation to this Biden’s statement!
Okay ladies, remember we are ladies. Don’t let our mind go there. I have to admit I laugh with Bashir and his guest. But I did try not too.
