I like watching the Kentucky derby. My son and DIL went there once and stood in the infield with the rest of the riff-raff. They had a great time, lots of drunks in the lower classes.
I hope he is at the Kentucky Derby. Wow what a “swing” state not. Willard shows each day how out of touch he and Ann really are. Romney probably changed his childish plans after seeing that crowd. (Tori)
I don’t know if it’s being out of touch or if he just really doesn’t care. I get the feeling that he sees being president as an entitlement. Just another thing that he has, the car, the house, the family, the presidency. It’s just another thing.

i think mr. ed is probably being sarcastic, since those are PBO campaign leaders. plus, i see henry ed is on the mark knoller beat of several crowd size tweets, and since it was really, really full, instead of packed to the rafters, he’s helping fuel what seems to be the only real talking point that seems to be emerging from the republican swamps so far today. somehow 14,000 people at a campaign kick-off is a bad thing, even though the largest crowd i can find of the mittbot was about 2,000 in mesa, az a couple months ago. of course, they all ignore or lie about all the details of PBO’s speech and the overwhelming enthusiasm present.
@edhenryTV You sound surprised. You need to get out from under your media rock more. That's how he's greeted EVERYWHERE. @ObamaBiden2012— Tally Briggs (@bardgal) May 05, 2012
Roberta in MN, click the ‘Repy’ and then look under your picture and take the check out of the little box that says “Notify me of follow-up comments via email” That should do it.
To repeat from the end of the previous thread, and from an elderly person who has heard many political speeches — that was more than a barn-burner of a speech, it was a whole barn EXPLOSION!
More of this carrying-on President Obama, and It’s gonna be a Landslide!
And in other kick ass news: Chelsea CRUSHED Liverpool to win the FA Cup Final. Woooooooooooooooooooot! GO BLUE! All other teams especially Chipsticks’s Manchester United can now officially SUCK IT!
Chelsea is the GREATEST football team on the planet!
Don’t hate Amk. Green is an ugly color on you. What it boils down to is that CHELSEA WON! I don’t give a crap about the hows, whens, wheres….blah…blah….blah. We WON. We are officially the BEST football club in the world. Every other team SUCKS!
YOU ARE ON FIRE TODAY!!!!! I’m still wiping the yogurt from my laptop about that BBQ sauce crack. Adorbs Michelle skipped a beat…like my heart skips a beat when I see them together. FYI, the takeoff is streaming http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
I noticed that too. Governor Romney is going to great lengths to avoid mentioning his record as governor. He just doesn’t talk about it all. His record as governor of MA is pretty pathetic. We all know he is a career politician. He has been running for some office for the last 18 years. The only office he won was the governorship. All that leaves is his experience as a businessman. And he has the nerve to say that President Obama is inexperienced.
You mean like Scrubbing all his hard drives of his record as Gov as Mass? Could there be anymore of a mentally challenged criminal running against PObama..except KOCHS themselves?
Well Peeps, suffering with a stupid cold but coming out of my fog to say, I can’t imagine Willard coming anywhere near inspiring people in this manner. My vision is a redwood tree @ the podium and crickets in the audience. No offense to redwoods or crickets. LOVE MY POTUS & FLOTUS!
i know that after all of this time and as often as i have seen it I should be use to the way that the Obamas show love, affection and admiration, but it always gets to me. No matter how many thousands are around, they embrace as if they are the only ones there. I love how he closes his eyes, holds her as close as he can as he lets her love and approval wrap him up in their special cocoon. He is so into her after all of these years. I love how they love each other.
ARE YOU BETTER OFF TODAY THAN FOUR YEARS AGO? HELL YES.
If Romney thinks he can use the Ronald Reagan line “Are you better off today then you were four years ago” for political gain, I welcome the debate. We are in the middle of a economic recovery that has been sabotaged by his own party. They have done absolutely nothing for job creation. We are moving in the right direction, but even President Obama is not satisfied with where are are today. Because more needs to be done. I would reply to the are you better off today than four years ago with the following (for starters). There are lots of other examples of how we are in fact better off. While acknowledging the fact that there are too many Americans still unemployed and struggling to make ends meet.
- 4 years ago we did not have healthcare form. Today we have ObamaCare.
- 4 years ago there was legalized gambling on Wall Street – Today we have Dodd-Frank and the CFPB.
- 4 years ago we had troops in Iraq. Today there are no troops in Iraq.
- 4 years ago we had lost over 8 million jobs. Today we have gained back 4 million plus private jobs.
- 4 years ago the auto industry was failing. Today the auto industry is back on top.
- 4 years ago OBL was hiding in Pakistan. Today he is not.
The question is will we be better off tomorrow if we go back to the failed policies of the Bush administration. Which is what Mitt Romney wants to do. There was a great section in the speech where President Obama focused on this.
Brilliant! Hope and Change were never slogans, they are what inspire all of us towards a vision of what America will be with PBO at the helm. He absolutely needs the right Dems in congress and senate to help bring about that vision.
The way Michelle rushed, skipped, ran to her husband was so natural, so lovely, and so real. That one moment will replay itself in my mind for a long time.
i am seriously losing it. I have a lot of windows for video feeds open and on one of them– CBSNews feed—AF1 is ready to go but in the noise the plane is making, I swear that I can hear a distant roar of 4 MORE YEARS!!! I’m not kidding. At first I thought it was a live feed but the only one playing is the aforementioned one. I’m either too fired up and ready to go, or the Schizophrenia is kicking in. Either way, if I have to have auditory hallucinations, what lovely ones to hear: 4 MORE YEARS!! 4 MORE YEARS!!! 4 MORE YEARS!!!
Kentucky Derby!?!? I can only hope Mitt is at the Kentucky Derby today. Please send the photos, and I hope Ann is wearing one of those over the top hats.
the media can try all the way to November to prop Romney, he is going to lose. We are going to move forward right over
Romney and right over the media bs. Our President IS going to remain Our President. Damn right I’m fired up!
HuffyFluffy right wingers trotting out the SAME OLD talking points: He started campaigning long ago, he raised the debt higher than his predecessors, socialism, Marxism, golf, etc etc etc!!! They are losing their SHIT because THIS PRESIDENT can connect with people and Mitt can’t!
Indeed. Don’t you know it’s what all the wealthy socialites do in that awkward phase between the end of spring and the beginning of summer? tut, tut, Don! Come now! What better way to spend a saturday afternoon than at the races with one’s peers? Not a penny below $200 million! They have a reputation to uphold don’t you know?!
I checked on google to find articles about the rally….they’re many out already.
I didn’t really check what sites I was clicking on……ended up in Politico…
They wrote:
”The campaign was only able to muster 14,000 supporters in an arena designed to hold more than 18,000. Several thousand empty seats ringed its upper deck, mostly out of view from the cameras.”
First Chucky Todd said there was 8K empty seats.
Now politico says ”The campaign was ONLY able to muster 14,000 supporters’
MItt was at a stadium that was capable of seating thousands, yet only about 200 ppl showed up. We can see the path that these tools will push. It is the same ole’ shi# just a different day for the failed US pundits.
i would only be surprised if they DIDN”T do that. it’s what their owners pay them to do. mock them mercilessly and help the campaign somehow today in honor of their lies.
14000 is 13700 more than Willard can manage, even if you added all of Willard’s extended family, his “core supporters” ( both words are laughable on their own but put together they’re even funnier), the richest 1% and the MediaWhores who follow him.
Oh good Lawd there’s always going to be empty seats where you can’t get a good view, who the hell wants to sit where you can’t see. The campaign knows this. Further more I remember coming down from the nosebleed sits to sit in the aisle where I coud get a better view. MSM is scared as hell. They should be.
Click the link inside the tweet. Some interesting stats.
Barack Obama's rally crashed our servers. 2012twit.com may need to take a breather to catch up, sorry for the lag.— Zach Green (@140elect) May 05, 2012
hahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahaha!! where are they? aren’t they supposed to be doing a rain dance around PBO’s campaign bus? WTH?!!! I’m so disappointed in the Willard Campaign: promising anything and doing nothing.
Just tuned into C-Span readying for the 2nd rally. The Libertarian convention just named Gary Johnson their candidate. This week I saw results of a poll that showed and independent run by Gary Johnson would pull a fair amount of votes from Romney, but not much from Obama. Maybe a place to go to for all those Republicans who don’t like Romney. Didn’t watch their convention otherwise so I don’t know if they were into knocking President Obama–just said after the nomination that the Obama campaign was trying to take some thunder away from the Libertarians by holding their rallies today. Doubt that was a consideration in picking this date.
ha! like PBO cares about the libertarian candidate. in fact, the obama campaign would benefit from strengthening the libertarian candidates, not trying to stifle them. i think we should be doing a reverse psychology strategy with republicanss and saying, “on no, please don’t go work for gary johnson! as an obamabot, there no one i fear more than ron paul and gary johnson. oh please no, don’t do it!!!” we shoulr be propping the libertarians up when talking to republicans, sort of like what they’ve done with the green party in the past.
Pic # 10:
It’s my favorite one. It reminds me of those romantic comedies where the main character and her friends are talking about the perfect kiss and how when you lean into each other and hold each other and smush faces together for a snog and one of the girl’s (or guy’s) feet goes up? They say that’s a perfect kiss. Miche and PBO aren’t kissing but that leg going up says a lot.
what has it been, an hour since the rally ended? i just checked some other sites to see how they’re covering it, and literally can find no mention of it on dailykos, except someone’s “live feed” thread that i found in the right sidebar after scrolling 2-3 pages down. huff fluff has a little headline hidden near the bottom, and a giant picture of r-money on the top as the lead story. with “friends” like these…
Wow, I did not know that ‘astronaut John Glenn’ in the picture is also a former US Senator from Ohio and is 90 years old! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Glenn
Okay TODville, I am just back from the President and First Lady’s rally at The Ohio State University. What an event!!!! I have attended many of these for this POTUS and FLOTUS but each one is just seems to be exceptional.
I have had my quick refreshment so I am ready to give you a brief glance from the on-the-ground happenings.
Rally at The Schottenstein Center (locally we call it The Schott) was fantastic!!! It was held just two traffic lights from my place so I did the only honorable thing for an unaplogetic President Obama (PBO a pragmatic environementalist) supporter should do which is to walk with a number of friends both ways so that we had a zero carbon foot print. Please know that OSU and the city of Columbus did a very good job and had free but hybrid campus and city buses running so as to reduce the traffic mess on a campus that had 2 other major state events happening.
The lines were long but we moved through them quickly. for those of you who have volunteered at such event, you know the routine we went through which was to collect as much contact information from the attendees and also recruit volunteers to beef up the neighborhood teams. the organization was impressive and security was not intrusive. people seem to have listened and not carried unnecessary stuff to bother the security team.
all the Democratic luminaries in the state of Ohio were there in person – yes including American hero Former Senator John Glenn (he was still the kind person, very sharply dressed and carried himself in the same dignified posture like the navy officer and astronaut he is) .
OSU band (The Best Damn Band in The Land) was in attendance and it pumped up the crowd before POTUS and FLOTUS entered the arena.
as you expect from a PBO rally, the crowd was very demographically diverse and very, very, very excited.
The First Lady and PBO gave very impassioned speeches which highlighted what Team Obama has done since he took office – none of that punditry crap that he will not run on his record.
People loved what POTUS and FLOTUS had to say so much that almost the entire arena was on their feet from beginning to end!!! Shouts of “Four More Years”, “Fired Up and Ready to Go” rang through the arena. People were besides themselves!!!
I am determined to keep working as hard as I possibly can for Team Obama because I know so many people really need PBO to win.
I have seen on TOD ome photos of the people who were standing infront of me so I am going to look through and see if I can get shot of where we were
Chips, I love the pictures, all of them, but the one with all the hands clasping his, holding his arm … just reaching out to touch him – that one says it all.
Yes, daisydem, those hands of all colors, both genders, touching his hand, touching each other ~ my heart just rises up into my throat, and my eyes fill with tears, heck, then the tears roll down, into my smile! Awesome!
Today, I was up at dawn to help set up the Democratic/Obama booth at our annual spring street fair. We got together as many Obama/Biden buttons, bumper stickers and signs as we could and had stuff from Senate and Congressional campaigns, too. We were there to register voters and make sure people knew the new voter ID laws and later the regional OFA director came to recruit volunteers. I’ve been doing this fair for years and usually don’t expect much from people in this red county. But, this one was fun. One lady came by, mentioned Romney and held her nose like he smelled bad. Another older lady told me Romney was going to end Social Security and her friends all nodded in agreement. Several pointed to our big Obama/Biden sign and whispered to me that they wanted him to win. One woman said she wouldn’t take a pin because she wanted PBO to win so much she wasn’t going to jinx it. For others, the Obama/Biden pins were a big hit and the Bo Obama ones made the kids laugh. Strange as it is, I sensed a lot more support for PBO than even n 2008 when we had to endure a few racist, communist cracks from time to time. And the virtually universal attitude toward Romney is that he sucks, which was not really the case for pre-Palin McCain. All in all, a happy surprise. For those of you in PA, married women who need a photo ID and do not drive are going to have to show their marriage licenses and any other material documenting widowhood, divorce, although you will not hear about this from the state. Please alert women non drivers that they need copies of all these papers and help if you can. I was amazed at how many people still do not know what’s going on with the voter ID laws. And we did we register voters, too.
The Obama team is not playing….Ann better take some time off from being a stay at home…because all i seez are women on the stage. That gender gap is gonna be HUUUUGGEEE
Of course you do not know this but you have already loaded a photo of me among those standing behind President Obama and below the banner with the word or campaign theme “FOWARD”.
Yes the photos were not clear but I know the area I was assigned to. I am standing with the row marked number 117 in red infront of me (10th picture from top if the order is not changed by the update). the huge American Flag was above my head. I am the 3rd person from the right of screen between the gentleman and lady. the guy next to me is holding his Obama/Biden sign in the armpit and lady next to me was clamping. I have my sign close to the area of my waist because the lady behind me was shorter and requested that I hold mine a bit lower so that she could see.
well, at least I have independent evidence that I was really present for the rally!!
I am looking for other photos from the media pool because often I was too excited to take my own when POTUS and FLOTUS were speaking. but all in all, it was a great day!
Yes, I see you, I figured it out, your clues were perfect, my reading of them was a little teeter-y! Still waving and to the Washington State supporter too! Good to see the Pacific NW represented!
OFA’s grassroots team is on fire. In VA right now, they’re getting people to call one or more people and hook them up with a volunteering team an event through texts and other other venues.
Holy Smokes! Shaka, the coach of VCU is at the rally. He’s introducing Tim Kaine.
Senator Sherrod Brown, the progressive, Union labor-advocate, health care advocate, ACA-promoting, and unaplogetic loyal PBO-supporter is running for re-election so he was given a prominent slot to speak at the OSU rally just before the student who introduced FLOTUS.
the crowd returned the love and support Senator Brown has shown to the ordinary people of Ohio and shouted for him repeatedly: “6 more years”.
oh!
They were awesome!

Let me decipher that for you, LOL.
Obama just stuck his foot in Romney’s ass.
There.
Lol.
Don, you are wrong for that. But OH SO RIGHT!! LOLOL
When he pulls it out I hope he still has his shoe.
Argh!
hahahahahahaha….
say that again…Don…
Firedddddddddddddd UP….Ready to Go!
Don, that’s a good one. I think Mitt realize he isn’t going against Newt, Paul, or Ricky boy. He’s in the big league now.
POBama kicked his swiss bank account a$$ all the way back to that Planet Zombey.
Apparently It’s all new to “Good-news-for-McCain/Romney” Halperin. Nothing new to us!
And as for “spouse skills,” study up Ms. Ann, study up I say.
Problem is hopefruit2 … you can’t fake spouse skills. Oh you can put on a smile and pretend … but the fakery will come through. Look at the McCains – it is plastic. I am so in love with my Country not because President Obama is President but because the people of our great Country made President Obama President.
Hear, Hear!!!
How precious Lorraine. I feel proud to be one of those who helped!
And we are going to do it AGAIN in 2012!!!
Hey, this is good news for mccain. Everything is. hackperin’s butthurt is showing.
Catching up? Seriously, catching up? AS IF.

Never let up. Mittbot is not ready for us.
Beautiful couple!! Fantastic President. 4 More Years!!!!!!
O H I O. That was ridiculously enthusiastically, crowd pleasingly GREAT!!!
My PREEZY and FLEEZY were off the HEEZY!
I wonder if Politcal Junkessa has recovered yet? Didn’t she say that she was going to the really?
She’s going to the Richmond rally.
k, thanks, collegekay. Well then she’s in for a great rally!

LOL! Some of those “aides” must have joined the PBO crowd screaming “four more years!”
you ain’t lying hopefruit2. I really believe they did. hah!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I bet POTUS is real terrified of the mittbot crowd.
Coward Fineman said that R-Money was going to the Kentucky Derby today (my dream would be if they booed him fiercly). He never intended to be in Ohio today.
Yes, because nothing says middle class…than the Kentucky Derby. What a maroon.
All dressed up and sipping mint julips.
Oh, Lawdy, Lawdy! Ah dooooo de-Clayah!!
Of course Mitt’s man will be serving the refreshments.
Henry you mean?! Fine fellow, indeed. A bit slow if you ask my opinion, but what can one expect from a servant? Good help is so hard to find these days, don’t you know? Tut Tut and har hum!
Ah, yes, Henry. He’s been serving the family for years you know.
So good of the ‘Willards’ to keep him on after all this time. There are so many other people more worthy of picking up after them and hiking the dog carrier onto the top of the care. Lovely people the ‘Willards.’ Lovely indeed.
Henry’s been getting a little older it’s much more difficult these days for him to handle that dog crate, but we sit by and cheer him on.
Amen! Perhaps we’ll higher a new boy to carry Henry as he carries the crate to the car? After all, we wouldn’t want Henry to fall against the car and scratch it now would we? It’s one of Ann’s favorite Cadillacs!
Brilliant idea!!! We must not scratch the missus’ automobile.
That’s why we’ve given it its very own elevator don’t you know!!! As gov of Mass, I wouldn’t give disabled people special lifts but dognabit, the wifey’s cars are gonna get their own special accommodations!
http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/mitt-romney-on-the-handicapped-cars-are-people-too-my-friend/question-2633767/
The elevator will be a jolly good help to Henry!
no no, dear. Henry and the dog and the boy can take the stairs. The elevators are for the cars.
Silly me!!!!
lolol lisalovesobama. I totally heard that. hahahahaha
THIS.

Oh how loverly…then he and Turtle Mitch can go on a nice date at sundown to reminisce about the nice derby moments!
I hope he is at the Kentucky Derby. Wow what a “swing” state not. Willard shows each day how out of touch he and Ann really are. Romney probably changed his childish plans after seeing that crowd. (Tori)
Hey Tori!! Did you have a nice Birthday yesterday.
Hey Donna. I did have a quiet relaxing day yesterday with my family. I donated some of my birthday money to the President’s reelection campaign lol.
I am sorry, I seem to have missed your birthday shout out! Happy Happy Birthday Birthday, a bit late, but with true heart!
I don’t know if it’s being out of touch or if he just really doesn’t care. I get the feeling that he sees being president as an entitlement. Just another thing that he has, the car, the house, the family, the presidency. It’s just another thing.
Not to dredge old-timey stuff but look at far that sense of ‘entitlement’ worked for Hillary.
mmmmmmmmmm hm! you know that’s right.
LOL. Oh, the sweet schadenfreude.
that was awesome can’t wait for Virginia. I bet he’s gonna throw in a little more War on Women references for “vaginal probe” guv mcdonnell
Roger Simon at politico: “Obama announcement speech 4 years ago was sweeping, elegant and grand. Today’s was fiery, dramatic and determined”!!!
damned right!!!!!! Cause he’s gonna kick ass and through out the
bumsrepukes out!!!!Can someone please explain to me what that idiot means by that?
Chuck Todd @chucktodd
Interesting way POTUS worded pitch for health care and Wall Street reform. Lamenting idea of refighting the issues. #politically exhausted?
politically exausted??
What in the world does that mean?
I think Upchuck Todd should be summarily ignored. I don’t care to understand his silly analysis! Even Ed Henry of FOX News admitted that people seemed to like the speech. Even Ed henry of FOX news gave a larger crowd size estimate than UpChuck Todd. Even DICK HALPERIN had some positive things to say…

If chuckycheeze really wanted to be relevant he would deal in reality. Pretty darn exciting and the ultimate experience in relevance.
does this freak have nothing better to do on a saturday? no afternoon delight? really? not surprised. between him and Ed Henry, I don’t know which one has more of their heads stuck up repug ass.
Why wasn’t Chuckie boy at the Kentucky Derby?
I think President Obama just walked up to Mitt and took off his glove and slapped him in the face with it.
POTUS slapped Willard ‘Princess Bride’ style and said: “My name is Diego Montoya, you killed my father. Prepare to die!”
lololol
Even Ed Henry has to be honest at some point!!!
Uh……no shit, Porky. It helps when you have ACTUAL ideas.
Well, nice to see a moment of honesty from ole’ Ed I guess he must have gotten swept up by all the excitement!! Give him 5 minutes he’ll be back to normal. As For Chuck Toad, he should go cover the non stop excitement of the Romney campaign.
that’s the campaign staff. I can see David Plouffe at the front. Ed Henry trying to be cute I guess.
Yup, there is Messina, Axe and Carney in the back.
i think mr. ed is probably being sarcastic, since those are PBO campaign leaders. plus, i see henry ed is on the mark knoller beat of several crowd size tweets, and since it was really, really full, instead of packed to the rafters, he’s helping fuel what seems to be the only real talking point that seems to be emerging from the republican swamps so far today. somehow 14,000 people at a campaign kick-off is a bad thing, even though the largest crowd i can find of the mittbot was about 2,000 in mesa, az a couple months ago. of course, they all ignore or lie about all the details of PBO’s speech and the overwhelming enthusiasm present.
Sometimes I’ve noticed that the rally venues have roped-off sections, not to be used. Could be for security logistics.
Love seeing the guys back together – Axe, Messina and Plouffe. And, of course, the great Jay Carney.
The Dream Team.
I see Axe, Carney. and Plouffe in the house. And Messina.
He was referring to the campaign staff. He said he was joking and that even Messina took it as a joke because he RT’d it.
It amazes me how the failed media gets paid mega millions to state the obvious, or on the other hand to simply make things up.
BOOM!
Do I have to post in order to get rid of the inbox emails notifications?
Open one of the emails, scroll down, and click edit subscription.
No, Chips posted the way to get rid of them on one of yesterday’s threads – click here.
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/05/04/about-your-inbox/
Roberta in MN, click the ‘Repy’ and then look under your picture and take the check out of the little box that says “Notify me of follow-up comments via email” That should do it.
To repeat from the end of the previous thread, and from an elderly person who has heard many political speeches — that was more than a barn-burner of a speech, it was a whole barn EXPLOSION!
More of this carrying-on President Obama, and It’s gonna be a Landslide!
Yes it was Joan!!
Actually they loved the speech and Our President and First Lady.
Ahem. They got lucky just as they did with CL semis. Liverpool had the momentum but was very unlucky. Let’s be honest here.
Anyway, a win is a win. So, congrats.
Don’t hate Amk. Green is an ugly color on you. What it boils down to is that CHELSEA WON! I don’t give a crap about the hows, whens, wheres….blah…blah….blah. We WON. We are officially the BEST football club in the world. Every other team SUCKS!
Gooooooo BLUE!
It’s not about the team. Any team for that matter. It’s about the game,
Anyway, enjoy your moment.
Gratz babe!!
Thanks Tally! It’s a wonderful day. Pres. Obama’s rallies and now Chelsea’s won the FA Cup Final.
This to get rid of the Notification thingy
YOU ARE ON FIRE TODAY!!!!! I’m still wiping the yogurt from my laptop about that BBQ sauce crack. Adorbs Michelle skipped a beat…like my heart skips a beat when I see them together. FYI, the takeoff is streaming http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
You’re knoller with your snark. Hope the fat fucker sees them and weeps.
Was she doing a little hop before she hugged him ?
Yes she was! I thought I was the only person who noticed that! I just love those two like they are family
It’s kind a like when a prizefighter wins a fight and gets engulfed by his corner people. Michelle O is always in POTUS corner!!!
Chips are you sure you’re not Snark Knoller? The tweets are incredibly hilarious.
p.s. Chelsea won the FA Cup Final . Wooooot! Gooooooooo BLUE!
Negative campaigns never work. People want ideas and to know that you care about them. Romney has neither.
Noticed how President Obama kept saying Governor Romney every time he mentioned Mitt’s name?
I noticed that too. Governor Romney is going to great lengths to avoid mentioning his record as governor. He just doesn’t talk about it all. His record as governor of MA is pretty pathetic. We all know he is a career politician. He has been running for some office for the last 18 years. The only office he won was the governorship. All that leaves is his experience as a businessman. And he has the nerve to say that President Obama is inexperienced.
You mean like Scrubbing all his hard drives of his record as Gov as Mass? Could there be anymore of a mentally challenged criminal running against PObama..except KOCHS themselves?
They still keep coming.
Redwoods are the right height!
Dakota, keep well now. Good to see you here, but get some rest as well. We Got This. Keep healing our friend.HZ
Thanks HZ. Taking your advice. I have a big trip coming up shortly and I WILL be well for it. In the meantime, sick or well, I’m Fired Up!
Twit Robme is in tears today. Crying on Man Robme’s shoulders.
i know that after all of this time and as often as i have seen it I should be use to the way that the Obamas show love, affection and admiration, but it always gets to me. No matter how many thousands are around, they embrace as if they are the only ones there. I love how he closes his eyes, holds her as close as he can as he lets her love and approval wrap him up in their special cocoon. He is so into her after all of these years. I love how they love each other.
She brings him serenity.
I would bet UpChuck is heading for the Romney bus……
I love Snark Knoeller…..so hilarious, it cracks me up each time,…………but do we ever need a Snark Todd…..anyone up for it?……
ARE YOU BETTER OFF TODAY THAN FOUR YEARS AGO?
That was so sweet to see.
i am seriously losing it.
They are saying today is Karl Marx birthday………about 100 times….
Luntz must have sent out a memo for that one.
Twitter’s blown up….;)
re: the WIllbot at the Durby!!!
It isn’t the Durby, but tut-tut!
Derby is spelled with a British accent = heavy on the ‘urby’
I hope they go on their unannounced and unexpected restaurant visits—those are always so cute.
AND DOWN GOES FRAZIER…I MEAN TWITTER #FIREDUP
THANK YOU FOR THIS SAFE HAVEN WEB SITE!!!!!

Ughhh twitter is over capacity
Really? I never knew Twitter could go down.
Maybe it has something to do with the Kentucky Derby, a lot of people go the Derby.
ZOMG….I hope someone finds this guy…looks like a marine. Getting his CiC to sign this has to be rewarding.

ooh, that needs a NSFW tag.
Oh Snark, that was great!!!
Willard’s conversational pieces today at the Derby:
More good news
Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has suffered a fresh setback in run-off parliamentary polls.
Mr Ahmadinejad’s supporters won only 13 of the 65 seats up for election in Friday’s vote, further reducing his power base in the 290-seat parliament.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-17969170
Damn…..PBO’s event has shut down twitter. Hahaha….too many people tweeting about it. Twitter is now over capacity.
It’s because of Justin Bieber. He’s online lol
LOLz!! Right back atcha, sistah.
You’re in LA, right? I love Los Angeles. Maybe even more than NYC. You guys have better street food. I know Cinco De Mayo is amazing there.
Happy Cinco De Mayo to you!!!
Yup! Galaxy home game tonight, with all kinds of Cinco de Mayo yummies at the HDC. Can’t wait!
Happy Cinco de Mayo to you and all of our TOD Family. Have a great time at the game tonight, Tally. Love you.HZ
Love YOU HZ!! We must get the So Cali TOD contingent together soon!!! XOXOX
Lisa, is this asshole really going to show up at the Kentucky Derby after President Obama has basically called Romney “Thurston Howell the Third?”
I hope so!! If he does, I am going to have to take his seriousness about becoming President with a grain of salt.
Indeed. Don’t you know it’s what all the wealthy socialites do in that awkward phase between the end of spring and the beginning of summer? tut, tut, Don! Come now! What better way to spend a saturday afternoon than at the races with one’s peers? Not a penny below $200 million! They have a reputation to uphold don’t you know?!
hot mic on the cbs feed…..
teehee
” They must be driving under the speed limit…..that is insane ? ” I will be on overtime in a few minutes. ?
That guy better be careful.
Doesn’t Knoller work for CBS??? He might be late for his donuts.
Chips do you have a place where we could link to the pictures if we wanted to share them?
I checked on google to find articles about the rally….they’re many out already.
I didn’t really check what sites I was clicking on……ended up in Politico…
They wrote:
”The campaign was only able to muster 14,000 supporters in an arena designed to hold more than 18,000. Several thousand empty seats ringed its upper deck, mostly out of view from the cameras.”
First Chucky Todd said there was 8K empty seats.
Now politico says ”The campaign was ONLY able to muster 14,000 supporters’
Anything to put a negative spin…….arhhhhhh
I will start worrying when they start reporting on Mitten’s empty seats. They are pathetic. If this is all they have, I say screw GOPolitco.
“14000 is 13700 more than Willard can manage,”
excellent response
I bet it seats 18,000 when there’s a game on the floor. All those standing people are on the floor…not in seats!
I never hear these guys talk about Romney crowd, or lack of it. With them it’s anything to try to put a negative spin on things for President Obama..
In the past 24 hours, the president added 37,400 followers! Total 14,000,000 Followers
Mitt added 1,700 Total 400,000 followers
WOOOOOOT!!!
LMBO
this is so sad, i feel bad about laughing so hard.
This is what it reminds me of
hahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahaha!! where are they? aren’t they supposed to be doing a rain dance around PBO’s campaign bus? WTH?!!! I’m so disappointed in the Willard Campaign: promising anything and doing nothing.
Look at the crowds of Romney supporters around the bus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can’t stop laughing, but they were “surrounding the quarterback” or something
Romeny the Stalker..isn’t that what he did for BAIN?
So beautiful how POTUS & FLOTUS love each other. I am so proud of them and what they have done for this country.
Well, hey whatever makes their lookalike Brylcreem convention seem important, it doesn’t faze me, the President or the Democrats.
ha! like PBO cares about the libertarian candidate. in fact, the obama campaign would benefit from strengthening the libertarian candidates, not trying to stifle them. i think we should be doing a reverse psychology strategy with republicanss and saying, “on no, please don’t go work for gary johnson! as an obamabot, there no one i fear more than ron paul and gary johnson. oh please no, don’t do it!!!” we shoulr be propping the libertarians up when talking to republicans, sort of like what they’ve done with the green party in the past.
Miche and PBO aren’t kissing but that leg going up says a lot.
what has it been, an hour since the rally ended? i just checked some other sites to see how they’re covering it, and literally can find no mention of it on dailykos, except someone’s “live feed” thread that i found in the right sidebar after scrolling 2-3 pages down. huff fluff has a little headline hidden near the bottom, and a giant picture of r-money on the top as the lead story. with “friends” like these…
Dang, twitter is still down. Hope it’s back for the VA rally.
Wow, I did not know that ‘astronaut John Glenn’ in the picture is also a former US Senator from Ohio and is 90 years old!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Glenn
OMG yes! Ohio is VERY proud of their native son. They have every right to be:)
Oh, well. My excuse is age (I was born the same year he retired from the Senate) and not being American!
I have seen on TOD ome photos of the people who were standing infront of me so I am going to look through and see if I can get shot of where we were
thanks, linda! sounds great. ready to go!
that’s so awesome!!! so glad you were able to go see PBO and Miche!!! So jealous but so, so glad you were able to go!!
Thanks for the report!!!
Thanks for the report Linda!! So happy you were able to be there.
Wow, global, so glad you were able to get there and good for you for walking.
Thank you so much for the report! Loved when the little kid said that he loved the President…
Yay! Great reporting, imaging is perfect. Good work! 28 More for 44!
Brilliant Report, Linda..Mahalos Plenty!!
“I can not wait for the Obama vs Romney debates! It will resemble…. Ali vs Quarry – Tyson vs Spinks -Mayweather vs Ortiz #Obama2012 Victory”
HA!!!! More like Mike Tyson v. Andy DIck-Muhummad Ali v. the late Gary Coleman- Mayweather v. Grady of of Sanford and Son.
C-SPAN has begun live coverage of the Virginia Rally.

CBSNEWS feed up with a lady talking about neighborhood teams and volunteering for the campaign
Started Streaming on CBS http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
HAAAAA – awesome.
AND
Twitter is hosed today.
Chips, I love the pictures, all of them, but the one with all the hands clasping his, holding his arm … just reaching out to touch him – that one says it all.
I just made that hands photo the background on my computer. Love it. UNITY!!!!
YES!
That’s really encouraging, Jackie!
The Obama team is not playing….Ann better take some time off from being a stay at home…because all i seez are women on the stage. That gender gap is gonna be HUUUUGGEEE
That story is pathetic …….I read earlier there were 8 people on the bus…not 35.
Ms Chips,
Of course you do not know this but you have already loaded a photo of me among those standing behind President Obama and below the banner with the word or campaign theme “FOWARD”.
I think I see you!!
I am looking for other photos from the media pool because often I was too excited to take my own when POTUS and FLOTUS were speaking. but all in all, it was a great day!
Ae you wearing your grey v-neck 2012 teeshirt? I see you, I waved! Hi Hi Hi! Nice seat to be so close to PBO! Nice view of him, too, just sayin’!
I am wearing my Obama tee-shirt and shirt on top. lady next to me had on a leopard print shirt and she was visiting from WA state
Yes, I see you, I figured it out, your clues were perfect, my reading of them was a little teeter-y! Still waving and to the Washington State supporter too! Good to see the Pacific NW represented!
New post up peeps…join the partay!!!!!!
OFA’s grassroots team is on fire. In VA right now, they’re getting people to call one or more people and hook them up with a volunteering team an event through texts and other other venues.
Holy Smokes! Shaka, the coach of VCU is at the rally. He’s introducing Tim Kaine.
Shaka is HOTTTTTTT! HUBBA HUBBA!
Tim Kaine about to speak!!
Senator Sherrod Brown, the progressive, Union labor-advocate, health care advocate, ACA-promoting, and unaplogetic loyal PBO-supporter is running for re-election so he was given a prominent slot to speak at the OSU rally just before the student who introduced FLOTUS.
the crowd returned the love and support Senator Brown has shown to the ordinary people of Ohio and shouted for him repeatedly: “6 more years”.
how do I email Chips?
Hi Eve, you can get me at theobamadiary@gmail.com – advance apologies, I take FOREVER to reply!
