Bob you are on a splendid roll here – thanks for all that you do!!
You made me cry. Happy tears.
Thank you for putting it all into such great words, Bobfr!
Yes, thank you.
Dear Jackie and DesertFlower – thank you!
If you check my twitter TL you’ll see a very large number of folk who are likely not to enjoy the news of the exceptional ethical and empathetic depth of our President Obama. But, the intent in sharing the message with them is entirely grounded in the ‘golden rule’ – a never ending commitment to do unto them – irrespective of how hateful and debased they are – as each of us would want to be treated.
Bobfr, you had me crying as I RT’d your tweets. Thanks so much for all that you inspire us to do, Bobfr. Staying focus. HZ
Tomorrow you will see mean-spirited, selfish people try to deny those rights. They will call themselves defenders of the status quo, but they’re really the last remnants of a backward and bigoted society. Romney will take the bait PBO put out there and back himself into a homophobic corner. He (Romney) will do this proudly and triumphantly and he will go too far with it, not realizing the trap. In the meantime, the president. who has already framed this critical rights issue as one of fairness, will move on and he will press for fairness on economic issues, in education, in health care, etc. So that will be the association going forward–one candidate is for fairness to everyone; the other is for special privileges to the already privileged, who just happen to be white and nominally straight as well as rich.
Exactly Jackie, exactly!
Blow nailed it with that tweet.
Yes, he did UT. He had several that were just so amazing. I am sure you saw them as well. I also enjoy yours, and I hope that you do not mind me RT;s of yours.HZ
Hey HZ. Lovely to hear from you. Thanks so much for the kind words. Please RT away. As long as we’re spreading the news of Pres. Obama’s accomplishments, it’s all good. Hope you have a healthy and blessed day.
Yes, UT, it was truly perfect and completely inspired.
Good night all. May the good Lord continue to watch over and keep safe our President and First Family. Bless you all.
Good night anniebella. My prayer as well. We will make it through all of this journey.HZ
Just finished my piece for TPV in a haze. I think I’m going to retire and clear my head with some reading. Good night all.

Betsy, thanks for sharing. Thoughts of Tally ring true in my mind as well. You all have this little spirited senior crying tonight. But I thank you all for your beautiful spirits. A big thank you to our Chips. Good night to all.HZ

Obama leads Romney by 8 nationally (AP-GfK poll):
On Pinterest: Claiming that someone else’s marriage is against your religion is like being angry at someone for eating a doughnut because you’re on a diet.

I am so tweeting that!!!
Mr. President – I applaud you. A righteous and courageous stance.— jason alexander (@IJasonAlexander) May 10, 2012
I’ve been thinking about your concerns. I am a minister, and I know this is difficult for many Christians.
To: @no spin
But I do not think President Obama was justifying his belief about marriage, per se, according to biblical mandate.
I think he was talking about basic rights under the law. The constitution provides that every citizen has certain unalienable rights. What I heard him saying is that under law he does not feel it right to give that right to some and not to others. “That’s where the distinction is.”
Jesus would not let the woman caught in adultery be stoned, even though it was scriptural law. Why? Because which of them had not sinned.
Do unto others….
For so long we have been taught that homosexuality is a sin, but adultery is a sin, and greed is a sin, and pride is a sin….So if homosexuality is a sin and should be denied equal rights, then If I am an adulteress or controlled by greed, am I somehow a better sinner than the homosexual?
He was speaking as CIC. He must stand up for all the people. His hope would have been that civil unions would have been enough to protect and provide for the people involved. He did not advocate for churches to marry same-sex couples; he advocated government allowing because the constitution dictates that every person should have equal protection under the law.
He did what a serious, thoughtful leader should do: He stood up for all the people. Do unto others.
All I know is that what President Obama did today was one courageous act. I could never have called up that kind of courage.
What I believe is that he stood for people who have no rights, no recourse if things go wrong. He did not run away from them to protect his presidency.
If it costs him the presidency, it won’t cost him his soul. And if I ever needed a friend to have my back, I’d want it to be Baracjk Hussein Obama.
“If it costs him the presidency, it won’t cost him his soul”.
God bless you eveingeorgia. Well said from a biblical point of view. What Would Jesus Do? And What Should A Commander-In-Chief & President do?
My heart is full of pride for President Barack Obama.
Thank you, again. I left you a shout out on the previous post.
Beautifully said, Eve. Very insightful and thought provoking, both respecting religious beliefs and widening the lens.
Words escape me, other than to say that was beautiful. Thank you.
Eveingeorgia, I also left you a comment on the previous thread. Thank you.HZ
This is a wonderful, thoughtful, reasoned and empathetic answer to those who have concerns based on how they see and practice their faith.
I responded in the other thread but will re-post here.
“But I do not think President Obama was justifying his belief about marriage, per se, according to biblical mandate.
I think he was talking about basic rights under the law. ”
Thank you for this eveingeorgia. That was at the core of my struggle. The bible does say “render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar and everything unto God the things that are God”. To me that clearly says separation of Church and State. I have never questioned the fact that discrimination under the law was wrong. Period.
Yesterday after his announcement the lines got blurred. Your post is critical and I will share it with family, friends and Church members with a slight edit. I will remove the point about homosexuality against adultery etc. Sin is Sin. I don’t think most Christians rank one type against the other so that was not a factor on this one.
Everything else helped me.
Alright. I AM IN!
But people knew when he said that he was evolving that he would end up pro-SSM. That was a clear dog whistle. I don’t think that he ever needed people to lecture to him about doing the right thing, the question was of timing and whether it makes any sense to invigorate the GOP base (which was previously less enthusiastic than Dems) right before the most crucial set of elections in my lifetime. There was no need for this to cost a Presidency, or a seat in the House, or holding onto the Senate, when PBO could have completed his evolution during a second term in which I’d argue that most people expect will be more revolutionary. I think that PBO is just beyond courageous and his decency is simply without measure. I do wonder about the timing, and if the impatient left does ourselves any favors if we’re unable to hold onto at least the WH past a single term, even after the Bush years, because we reach for the immediate gratification of media soundbytes rather than long-term strategy and planning. To maximize the PBO presidency, we need some of these purple area seats, and an energized religious right is unhelpful with that. That said, every time I’ve questioned this POTUS re: strategy, I’ve been wrong, and I hope that my record holds.
I don’t think that he ever needed people to lecture to him about doing the right thing.
Correct, totally agree, I’ll add like he was a five years old. It may indeed hurt his chances. The man is courageous, and extremely smart, so lets see how it plays out. I hope it is in our favor.
He’s excellent re: strategy, and looking in hindsight, this appears to have been a coordinated rollout of a new same sex marriage position. I think that the evolution doctrine provides an intellectual and spiritual pathway for fence-sitters to get to the better side of the marriage issue (I just thought that the end of the evolution would be in his second term, not right before the elections). But he’s a master chess player, so I’m not going to go too, too far with questioning that strategy, as I think that PBO has earned a presumption that he knows what the heck he’s doing, and his moral conduct is unmatched. I’m just hoping that all of the people who demanded that PBO do this have his back, and have the backs of even conservative Dems so that this media soundbyte can eventually yield actual policy dividends, because the religious right, unenthused about Mitt, just got a huge shot of energy and it would be a mistake to underestimate that.
PBO just wracked up another first; *really* proud of him–let’s make sure that the satisfaction gained from a media interview clip doesn’t cost us dearly.
“I’m just hoping that all of the people who demanded that PBO do this have his back, and have the backs of even conservative Dems so that this media soundbyte can eventually yield actual policy dividends, because the religious right, unenthused about Mitt, just got a huge shot of energy and it would be a mistake to underestimate that.”
Yup, they all wanted the words out of his mouth, now he said it, “it’s just words” and he must do more. Couldn’t agree more with everything you said.
Agreed. His re-election is far more important than saying something that makes some people feel good but has no legal impact and only serves to rally the RWNJs to Romney’s side and does not guarantee PBO would receive any more support than he had before making that statement.
I’m pretty exasperated at the moment, admittedly. I can’t be so sanguine about “well if he loses, so be it, he took a stand” with what the hard right has on the table should they expand their 2010 victories. Not when PBO’s clear pro-GLBT thoughts and feelings were discernible to anyone really paying attention to him and his actions rather than the drama cooked up by the media (the right wing politico wanted this as a wedge issue and now they’ve got it).
That said, we’ll just have to double down on him; I donated last night because I knew the election just got a lot tougher. Large numbers of other people donated yesterday as well, which is comforting.
Many of the usual suspects have already knocked his statement which to me confirms that the people who hate PBO will always hate him no matter what he does. If you noticed the overwhelming majority of positive statements came from people who are already supporters of PBO.
Eve, you revealed your own beautiful soul in this statement. This is exactly the impression I got–that the president was struggling with this position in the context of his own Christian faith, but then realized that that basic fairness demanded that all of us be treated equally. I think he struggled with the issue, weighed the risks and then decided, as you said, that you profit nothing if you lose your soul. Every world leader should note this action as an example of how a true statesman should behave. We put everything in the context of a political game, but here is a president who rises above that and puts things in the context of human justice.
Obama’s historic statement draws praise and cash but also political risk
Did anyone discuss the patriotic former Presidential candidate, sitting member of the US House of Representatives, leader of the Tea Baggers, woman who wanted to investigate other Congress members to assess whether they were “pro-America or anti-America”, and newly minted Swiss citizen? She was also one of those who questioned President Obama’s citizenship and patriotism, right? Clearly, this means she applied while she was running for President. I wonder what the rabid right would be saying if President Obama had sought dual citizenship while running for office or holding his Senate seat or the Presidency? Hypocrites.
How about Mrs. Michelle Bachmann? The nerve of these right wing haters like her. Maybe she should be question for her loyalty to America?
Well, it’s been a whirlwind day all around, hasn’t it? Didn’t get here earlier, and wanted to pop on and congratulate our President in a “public” forum! Congratulations, Mr. President!
And that tweet from Charles M. Blow just about got me. A couple of months ago, I was in a little Twitter conversation with him … I had given him a Bravo for something supportive he said about PBO and I think I suggested he “keep it up” … he responded that he was totally “independent.” Of course, I’m sure he was used to saying that, because of his employer – or whatever his reason. Well, there was nothing independent about his quote on Twitter, was there? Dare I say: he’s IN!!!!
Another banner day for Barack Obama and his loyalists, of which I am one. And I’m guessing our Joey Biden is happy, happy, happy (he’s so cute) that he’s been a part of rolling out this week’s glorious moment. I love them both.

May 7, 2012 at 11:09 pm
BWD, keep your eyes looking forward and your ears open…I have a gut feeling something wonderful is about to explode (besides the heads of the right). The ground under us is rumbling….our President is just waiting for the right moment, this will be HUGE!
Dang, (regarding my post above) my spelling sucks tonight….it is late, my eyes are swollen from crying tears of joy today. I love our President! He has more courage in his little finger tahn Romney has in his whole being. I must be the only one still up…talking to myself.
“weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” I stayed out of the discourse over the past few days because I have seen these blowouts here before that after anger and hurt feelings, everyone remembers why we are here: to support the presidency of the most remarkable man that any of us has witnessed on the world stage. PBO has shown us from the moment that most of us first became aware of him, that he is a Philosopher King, a Warrior-Poet, as one poster described him; a man who believes in going big or going home; a man who wanted to be president to do so something, not to be something; a man who wants to transform our society to make more perfect our union. Let him do his work in his own strategic time, while we do ours in working together tomdomour parts to shape history. If we turn on each other, who do we have?
“working together to to our parts”
I wish I had the smarts and strength to “stay out of it”. Oh well, I’ve made bigger mistakes. Too happy to flog myself over it.

President Hamid Karzai is expected to announce on Sunday the transfer of 230 districts and the centers of all provincial capitals to Afghan control in the third phase of a handover before most NATO troops pull out by the end of 2014.
“In 2014 we will face a national survival test, but our enemies have to know that this nation is committed to fulfill this process,” Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, head of the transition process, told reporters in Kabul.
“The third stage is a difficult stage. We don’t want to tell lies to Afghanistan’s people, but these difficulties are not ones that have no solution. The fourth and fifth stages will be more difficult,” Ahmadzai, a former finance minister, said.

Why does that “dick” guy call our President “bam”? Is this suppose to be cute, funny, disrespectful or what? I cannot stand Halperin!
I cannot stand “dick” Halperin either, donna dem. Perhaps, he was trying to be clever by taking “bam” out of Obama and equating it with dropping a bombshell?
You guys choose to listen to Halperin, so don’t be shock when he acts like a dam idiot. You know what he is all about.
Typical frat boy coming from a shallow gene pool humor.
I take solace in the fact that his father, Morton works for George Soro’s Open Society Institute.
Actually “Bam” is supposed to be a shortened nickname and was started by the NY Daily news at the beginning of the general election in 2008. They called PBO “Bam” and McCain “Mac.”
It might have been cute in 2008 but now he is President and he still thinks its okay to refer to him as “bam”. Only the dick would think so….
Thinking with the little head again
Mitt Romney got a touch testy with a local Colorado reporter on Wednesday after fielding several successive questions on social issues and immigration policy.
“Aren’t there issues of significance that you’d like to talk about?” the former Massachusetts governor asked CBS4 when the topic turned from same-sex marriage to in-state tuition for the children of undocumented immigrants to medical marijuana. “The economy? The growth of jobs? The need to put people back to work? The challenges of Iran?”
Once the interview concluded, Romney was back to questioning the line of questions, albeit in a more joking manner.
“I’m not running on marriage and marijuana, those are state issues, right? Aren’t they?” he said.
For the record, Romney said he opposed the legalization of medical marijuana, calling it a gateway drug.

What does he mean ? Are they panicking because they’re afraid it won’t be a horse race, or because they’re in the tank for Mitt ?
They’re panicking because they have to immediately scramble to bring PBO’s numbers down. Can’t have him actually succeed at anything, can they?
So where is the interview on ABC?? Who cares about pop news at 8:15 on a Thursday morning?
Seriously, Robin?? Tim Tebow? Where’s PBO’s interview?
LOL! They’re obviously saving the interview for the last 10-15 minutes of the show. And they’re dragging their audience through the entire program for ratings. I’ve seen this before!
That’s what I was thinking, hopefruit.
what?! Don’t these stupid morning shows know that people have to go o work?
Lisa the interview was at 7AM this morning.
Ahhhh! Okay, thank you.
So we missed it entirely – and I didn’t see too much commentary here or Twitter – which is why I assumed that they hadn’t shown it yet. Alrighty then; thanks Donna for letting us know and I will watch the archived segment.
I thought the interview was at the beginning of the show at 7AM EST???
It was at 7am—right when it came on the air. She had a long extensive interview so they may show a little more before they go off the air and tomorrow as well.
No clue. I started watching at 8 cause that’s when I thought it started. But maybe I missed it.
I thought that it was the quickest sperm that gets to fertilise the eggs; how come some or most of the Tea-baggers & Republicans are so slow in coming FORWARD in anything that the president does; I know what it is he surprises them with something new every-time. Nope. Robin was asking Tbow about his mom. Why is that guy famous again? Seriously, my friends say he sucks at playing ball.

The interview already aired at the beginning of the show
Here is what was on earlier this morning.
House Ethics Committee Will Investigate Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) |
A statement released this evening by the House Ethics Committee’s chairman and ranking member reveals that the panel has decided to investigate allegations against Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL). Buchanan has been accused of encouraging a business partner to file a false affidavit related to illegal campaign contributions.
The statement says that to gather more facts, “the Committee will review the matter.” Last night, a Tampa Bay television station aired a story highlighting these and other ethical allegations against the third-term Congressman. Despite Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s promised “zero-tolerance” policy on ethical scandals, Buchanan continues to serve on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.

Okay I read the article and I don’t think Willard’s prep school shenanigans should be an issue now. He has enough CURRENT glaring deficiencies that we shouldn’t have to go back to prep school in the 1960s to dig up old stuff!!
If the GOP can dig into the “location and cirumstances” surrounding PBO’s birth, then I say it’s fair game.
I have to agree. There are distinctions to be drawn, but bullying a [presumed] gay student is not just shenanigans, it’s an insight into his character. It contributes to an image of who this man is.
Um………. I’m a bit weary of people coming back 50 years from the past saying they saw someone do something.
Agreed, but it’s blowing up on Twitter with Romney now denying any recollection of it.
Disagree. Shows this guy’s inherent character flaws that led to his later ‘successes’ in life. Pick on the vulnerable and take them to the cleaners.
Good morning AMK for Obama, I agree with you. The lame street media dig and search PBO before he was even born and not having found anything they latch onto something silly and blow it up. They are already giving Willard enough space to expand his lies, let him twitch some, l)et’s see the real Willard. It doesn’t get any gutsier than this
Barack Obama’s open endorsement today of same-sex marriage seems, to me, rather superfluous. No one doubted that a president of such intellect and sensitivity ever really opposed such a thunderingly commonsensical position, and sure enough, he didn’t. And because same-sex marriage lies outside the realm of a U.S. president’s direct influence, nothing much will change, except the right will go even more bonkers for a while.
Yet, there is one thing I’d wish to gently note. I appreciate the slim possibility of this happening, but would the activist left now please shut the fuck up about what a coward President Obama is. He may have just kissed off a few swing states–and in the kick-off to a presidential reelection campaign, it doesn’t get any gutsier than that.
I love PM Carpenter. Everyone here needs to read him every day.
Hello to all PBO’s supporters and Miss Chjips here at TODville.
The following Prayer I copied in 2008 from Barack Obama website and used it practically every day prior to his election. Since then I have included him in my Prayers every night. Recently however I have felt the need to dust this particular Prayer off and use it again. I would like to share it with you.
(I have taken some liberties with the original Please forgive me).
A Prayer for President Barack Obama’s Success and Safety.
I pray for Optimum Health,
I pray for Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding,
I pray for Mental Clarity and
I pray for Political Prosperity for President Barack Obama, for his continued Protection and that of his Family, as You Guide him Father through all the Trials and Tribulations as he fights for Equality, Peace and Prosperity for his People in the USA and for the rest of the World.
In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
Ladies and Gentlemen I try to also live by the Golden Rule and all of my adult life I try to just “Live and let Live”.
( I am 59 years old with 2 grown children and thank God they feel the same way as their father and I do) Peace and Love to everyone everywhere.
I bet they start over polling Black conservatives? All 3% of them, make it seem he is losing AA support.
A FOX news contributor wrote this? Maybe someone ELSE has evolved!
In our exceptionally and often disgustingly hyper-partisan political environment, it can be difficult to remember that political decisions affect real people – and that the politicians who make those decisions are people, too. People can make mistakes. People can change. The same goes for presidents. I believe the president genuinely did evolve on this issue. Sure, it’s easy to be cynical that the same Obama who has been conflict-averse since day one of his administration was merely letting his opinion on gay marriage sail with the winds of political pressure. As the New York Times editorialized, the president “dampening the enthusiasm of allies without gaining the support of equality’s opponents [is] not an unfamiliar place for this president to be, unfortunately.” Unfortunate but accurate. But he deserves our praise now for coming out on the right side of marriage equality and having the decency to call his shift a shift rather than maneuver like Romney, who plainly flip-flops on issues like gay marriage for political gain while trying to feign consistency. Not only should the gay community (including gay Republicans) be thoroughly fed up with being political pawns, but voters in general should be fed up with politicians who refuse to do what’s right and merely, cautiously do what they think is popular.
The great leaders in history were not the ones who did what was popular, but those who did what was difficult – yet ultimately right. In standing up for marriage equality, President Obama showed that he has the capacity to be that kind of leader. Here’s hoping Republicans will follow his lead.
Here is your Republican House of Representatives at work yesterday:
“It was another marathon session, and by late last night they debated some twenty-plus proposed amendments. Oh, let’s see… there was one prohibiting the use of funds for defending court challenges to the Affordable Care Act. And one to prohibit the use of funds to litigate against
any of state on behalf of the National Labor Relations Board pertaining to secret ballot union elections. And one to prohibit the use of funds by the Department of Justice to bring any action against any state for implementation of a state law requiring voter identification. And of course, one to prohibit the use of funds to implement a section of the Americans with Disabilities Act which allows miniature horses to be used as service animals. Gotta have that.”
Hi Chips & TODs, “Live and let Live.” Yesterday was one for the books, and I watched PBO with great respect . All I can say is that there will never be another Prez, in my eyes, that works the magic of Obama. He is gifted in so many ways, being able to understand the world’s people and the need for every living human being to be treated equally and fairly, and taking the steps to show the world the way.
The Justice Department plans to sue Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a hard-line anti-immigrant who is being investigated for racial profiling and other civil rights violations. Arpaio was in settlement talks with the Justice Department, but after refusing a court-appointed monitor the talks fell apart. Now, the Justice Department plans to sue.
I’m assuming you guys know this but Angie’s List is again a sponsor of Rush Limbaugh.
They’re pulling black people out of nowhere saying they won’t vote for him now. SMH
And some won’t. About a dozen of them. By all means, Karl Rove, spend all of your energy on that.
Someone on one of the progressive shows last night made a point about 2008 in California: 90% of black voters voted for PBO, and 58% of black voters in the same election voted for Prop 8. I know this is hard for lizard brains to comprehend, but people can walk and chew gum at the same time. Also, the shift on same sex marriage has been dramatic over the last four years. We have all had the unfortunate example of how Republicans have treated this President over the last four years as well. This is 2012.
Now I suppose the case can be made that that was before PBO made his historic statement. However, tihis will energize other voters to make up that difference. I simply do not see the AA community willing to not support and reelect the first black President, and do anything to help the most dangerous Republican party in history regain power. I just don’t see it.
The Latino community as well. Several polls have showed that their major issues are economy, jobs and health care. Unlike the deranged Republican Party, a lot of Americans can indeed prioritize.
AA’s, Latinos, women: at some point Mitt Romney is going to have to put forth policies and concrete ideas on what he intends to do to this country. The closest we have is the Romney-endorsed Ryan budget and the outrageous drivel pouring out of his mouth throughout the primaries. He can’t get away with absurd generalities forever. Even with this press corps.
Remember the Democratic primary in 2008? do you remember that it was policy proposal after policy proposal between PBO and Hillary? How could our politics have descended this much, this fast?
It is, however, imperative that the whiny left stop whining and work their butts off for this President. They simply have lost all reason to complain about anything. The President has probably lost a few swing states over this courageous move. their whole M.O. was that if he was brave, they would love and support him. Well, we’re here. You have lost all justification in your fevered brains to blame this President for ANYTHING. It is time to get on board and work. There are the few hopeless deranged cases like GG and FDL, but they should FINALLY be marginalized into oblivion.
Absolutely. I will be working my butt off. If some of those who are complaining about PBO don’t do the same, I will write them off. We don’t have time for wishy-washyness.
I am truly hearing and reading something very different this time. The vast majority are hailing this as exactly what they’ve been looking for. Now in my world and the TOD pragmatic world, I expected this kind of support for ACA, repeal of DADT — this is what progressives should have done all along. But this one act appears to be enormously symbolic.
Faiz shakir on Bill Press morning was absolutely eloquent on how this courageous move has put this President, not only back to their dream candidate, but even more: a fulfillment of the dream.
There are still whiners. I’ve heard equivocation that is just unnecessary. But there is a wave of unified support that I haven’t seen since January 21,2009.
Dearest Chips & BWD, I just had to write this in light of this week’s occurrences. We are a family here, many of us followed BWD from that orange place, and her home became ours. Dear TOD family, BWD is one of the heroines from the days of Sen. Barack Obama till now. She jumped in those waters filled with sharks (read men) and took on the struggle head on…Now I don’t want to sound feminist or anything, I’m just emphasizing the enormity of the challenge BWD took on. I mean some of us were new to blogging and the like yet she was already there doing everything to get the Senator elected. She always brought good news to GOS, she was heckled at times, but didn’t give up….finally it became unbearable that she had to leave and set up TOAITR. We (decent people) followed her. This is the BWD who has even had threats made on her life all because of her unmatched defense of PBO! She is a warrior and worrier (which can be a weakness). She wears her heart on her sleeve and gets too emotionally invested ; which sometimes gets interpreted as hair on fair or hand- wringing…I believe it’s because she has the courage to venture into the dark dark sites and confront people all in her defense of PBO. In the process, she (like Chips) gets worn-out, emotionally and physically….you would too if you had to deal with all the bile they deal with daily! But we all know her heart is ever in the right place, people lets accept her as just that, Mama BWD. When they (Chips and BWD) come on here feeling discouraged, let’s life them up, that’s what family does, moreover this demonstrates that they must really have a comfort level with us to bear their fears for all to see. Come on now family!
Now Mama Chips, there’s a reason Yardarm calls you Captain, it’s no cliché… you ARE our captain as we navigate the high seas. We may face fair winds or rough ones, but we got to keep on moving, we shall surely get there! You, BWD, Deaniac (TPV), Eclectablog, ABL, and SP etc… are our generals, leading this army as we fight the good fight under our Commander-in-chief President Barack Obama! Make no mistake this is a world-wide movement. I have Ugandan roots, used to live and work in Japan, but moved to Nigeria with my husband 2yrs ago. So even from oceans away, we follow you. Please don’t threaten to leave us again, coz I I’ve got news for you Lady, you are as stuck with us, as we are with you!!LOL. We are going to finish what we started. Aint nobody out there gonna pull a Willard and take credit for this OBOT MOVEMENT; our dear generals, it’s all because of you, so please hang in there, history will remember you when the President Obama library is set up, I guarantee you your good works will be there too!!!!
TOD family, let’s remember that we are all different, come from different places, in fact no two people in a family are the same. But like PBO likes to say ‘we also have common values.’ When push comes to shove we are there for each other (think Hachiko & Lunar, Kayla & Donna, soon Sheri will soon join them in DC , and what about all the generous donations you TOD family makes at the drop of a hat)! You are all decent people, together we make a great team with different gifts- —Chips to bring out those pics that take us all to heaven and just make our days , Linda with those incredible videos, HZ, Joan & LDS who just bring such peace and serenity, WIW & Global CL & Donna are the pragmatic ones, channeling our discussions into action, Jovie for the latest news, LL& Tally simplify complexities for us, Bob & UTA & the rest are our very own twitterazzi and as for Yardarm—-LOLest! So lurkers, non-lurkers, national & international, we are one solid unit, air-tight. We might have disagreements with each other, but no outside force is gonna break our bond. I know trolls will haz a sad after reading the following… PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA IS HERE FOR 4 MORE YEARS….WE ARE OBOTS FOR LIFE AND WE WILL CRUSH YOU IF YOU MESS WITH HIM!!!!
Love you guys, JC
PS- Isnt our President awesome:-)))
Yes, he is awesome and nice post, JC.
Oh thankyou, Dear!
JCAfrica, what a gorgeous comment!! I honestly can’t thank you enough for your kind words, and I agree with every single thing you said about BWD. It’s been a shaky week here, but FORWARD we go. Thank you again, that was a truly lovely comment to wake up to!
You are more than welcome, Sweets!
New post everyone:
There’s an article in the wapo about local black ministers & other local people. Some say they”ll still support him & some seem shocked by his statement & will not. I guess the real question is will they try to convince their congregations to do the same.
Immediate shock has a way of receding, and common sense thinking taking its place. Our president has done too much for the disenfranchised to permanently go against him. This, I believe.
That’s another reason I’m actually glad this happened now and not right before the convention, as originally planned. 6 months is a long time. Hopefully the whiny left will not move the goal posts — the President has a phenomenal record on LGBT policies, he has made a courageous statement on same sex marriage, and we should fully support him in leaving this up to the states at this point.
HILARIOUS!!! The irony that IS Michelle Bachmann Look what her new Swiss citizenship has in store for HER!
You just can’t make this stuff up…..
@carolyn I think you’re probably right about that. I pray so because I adore this pres.
