Stunning video. I’m off to share with all my friends.

Bravo, Bobfr and amk for obama! MSM are useless. All they do is manufacture useless controversies while pretending to be objective journalists.
My sentiments exactly amk. They throw up the firewall and carry water for the GOP and then have the nerve to complain when PBO goes over their heads. The Republican Party and the mainstream media are like TWO PEAS IN A POD. They are so intimidated by President Obama that they spend all of their time trying to prevent the American people from seeing his brilliance. I have nothing but complete and utter disdain for the media.
That was lovely and powerful. (Hard to watch without getting teary.)

They are protecting the Bush Tax cuts, so they need leverage, hello debt ceiling-
This is all about the lame duck, regardless who wins or loses.
They are very aggressive, and strong Arm everything.
But, as several people have reported, Boehner actually has no leverage. Debt ceiling won’t come up until after the new Congress is seated. Bush tax cuts expire before. Lame Boehner.
That’s why boner is whining (gopolitico) why Obama is not having those debt talks NOW ? Asshole.
Bush tax cuts expire January 1st, lame dick is after the election until that time.
I agree, he still has no leverage, but it is what he is doing.
Geithner said the debt ceiling won’t come up until Feb. Jan 1 is still lame duck—I believe new Congress doesn’t sit until Jan. 4. Boehner is just awful awful awful at his job.
Jovie, They HAVE NOTHING. Zero leverage on this issue, lame duck or otherwise.
BTW, the Budget Control Act of 2011 is Law. The only way @SpeakerBoehner and his fellow #KOCHSTERS can escape that fact, despite all their foolishness regarding the Fiscal 2013 budget (which is set within the BCA) is to change the law. That would require the Senate to pass such a change and the President to sign it. Not going to happen.
I agree, nevertheless, it is what he is doing.
We know what he is doing, Jovie. He’s proving, every day, how big a fool he is and how big a fail he is. That’s the only message to be communicating to anyone regarding the worst Speaker in the history of Congress.
I love this video.

MOYERS MOMENT: Paul Volcker on Jamie Dimon
May 15, 2012
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has been one of the most outspoken critics of the Volcker Rule, a section of the Dodd-Frank Act that aims to keep the banks in which you deposit your money from gambling it on their own sometimes-risky investments. Now Dimon has announced that risky trades have cost his company $2 billion in losses. In this April 22, 2012 Moyers Moment from Moyers & Company, Paul Volcker himself responds to Jamie Dimon’s complaints about the rule and its effects.
Yes indeed! If JPMorgan wants to take risks, then it should not be a bank expecting govt. bail out when their risky stuff go sour.

In the car just now, listened to Rush Limbaugh for 25 seconds. I could not stand it any longer than that. Here are my observations: OMG, he is boring. He rambles and repeats and covers topics that most people have no interest in – for 4 hours, I hear. And WHERE does he get his information? Simply pulls it outta his rear orifice, I’m guessing. He would be a pretty good cure for insomnia –
Gosh.. any parent with daughters is going to be touched by that. It makes me think of my own grown up daughter and her daugher, with whom I do day care twice a week. I am so proud of my daughter. She is now 36 and is an oncology nurse. She graduated magna cum laude from Oregon Health Sciences University, and is certified now as an oncology nurse, working 2/3 time at our local hospital taking care of very sick patients. She has a wonderful husband and a daughter now just over a year old, who is a delightful child. The GOP wants to put women back in the 50s where they had few, if any choices. That’s unacceptable.
Romney To Florida Business Leaders: ‘I Love You’
On the campaign trail in Florida Wednesday, Mitt Romney showed buisness leaders some love. Literally.
“I know that you get the impression that government doesn’t like you,” he said. “I love you, all right? I love what you do. I want to see entrepreneurs and innovators. I want to see more success. My ambition is to see more and more people able to enjoy the extraordinary benefits of America as you have.”
Romney’s used the line before. It’s part of his argument that there are too many regulations as well as a swipe at President Obama’s proposal to raise taxes on the rich, which Romney has said amounts to class warfare.
that is funny as heck

Boehner: Obama Said He Wants To Raise Debt Limit Without Spending Cuts
During a meeting Wednesday, President Obama told House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) that he wants to raise the debt ceiling when it comes up without any strings attached, Boehner’s office said, adding that the Speaker told him that won’t happen.
The full readout from Boehner’s office:
The Speaker participated in a friendly lunch meeting today with the President and other congressional leaders. The President began the meeting by laying out some of his policy goals, including his “to-do list” for Congress. The bulk of the meeting was spent discussing other issues, including the next debt limit increase and the looming expiration of current tax rates. In a discussion of the debt limit, the Speaker – who has warned that the growing debt is hurting U.S. job creation – asked the President if he is proposing that Congress pass an increase that does not include any spending cuts to help reduce the deficit. The President said, “yes.” The Speaker told the President, “as long as I’m around here, I’m not going to allow a debt ceiling increase without doing something serious about the debt.” The Speaker also asked the President for his plans to deal with the largest tax increase in American history, which will mean tax hikes on small businesses, and the devastating cuts poised to hit our military, both scheduled to take effect at the end of the year. The Speaker pressed the President to approve the job-creating Keystone pipeline energy project. The Speaker also asked the President to encourage the Attorney General to provide the information Congressional investigators have sought about the Fast and Furious operation. The Speaker was very pleased with the sandwiches served.
How Mitt Romney Beats the Press, Avoiding Most National Interviews
by Howard Kurtz Apr 20, 2012 4:45 AM EDT
The candidate is carefully avoiding most national interviews outside of Fox. Howard Kurtz on why Mitt resents the media—and what his isolation is costing him.
The Romney campaign says the candidate has been quite available in ways that don’t register on the national radar. Since March 30, spokeswoman Andrea Saul points out, Romney has done 21 interviews with local television stations. He has also done six cable interviews, five of which were with Fox News—two of them with Sean Hannity—and one with conservative CNBC commentator Larry Kudlow. Romney has also done 10 radio interviews with such conservative hosts as Hannity and Mike Huckabee.
But the inescapable fact is that Romney has a propensity for damaging slips of the tongue. The morning after the Florida primary, he stepped on his victory by telling CNN’s Soledad O’Brien that “I’m not concerned about the very poor.”
Such gaffes have undoubtedly made his team more cautious about putting Romney in television studios.
“They’re in a tough position because more exposure doesn’t necessarily help Romney—the more you see him, the less you like him,” Hattaway

Obama warns Republicans that he won't tolerate another debt ceiling fight: wapo.st/Lc1baW— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) May 16, 2012
This time the President knows he has zero need to compromise with those whom have plotted since 20 Jan 2009 to destroy his Presidency irrespective of what it did to the American and global economy.
They’ve been trying for decades to crush the New Deal policies, and all subsequent advances in rights and opportunities for the majority of Americans.
The deficit is their biggest tool for doing so and they no more want to reduce it than drink a ground glass milk shake. Trouble is, President Obama was smart enough to prepare that milk shake for them, and that is just what the Budget Control Act of 2011 is. Boehner and McConnell can whine all they want but they have no option. Even the Koch Brothers can’t make them take a sip and President Obama knows it.
So, FOCUS ON GOTV and Voter Registration because if we don’t re-elect President Obama and establish Dem majorities in the House & Senate the #KOCHSTERS will serve something much more harmful to all but the wealthy few come Jan 2013.
There was a tea nagger who called into Stephanie Miller’s show this morning to talk about this, and he was promptly ignored. He implied that the downgrade didn’t really matte because it was thru Standard&Poors, who rated the housing derivatives before the economy crashed. So, I guess their thinking is that a downgrade is ok.

Under Romney, Massachusetts Had Highest Per Capita Debt Of Any State
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney used a speech in Iowa yesterday to blame President Obama for a “prairie fire of debt” that is supposedly spreading across the nation. Romney continued the assault today, giving a speech in Florida in front of a giant clock featuring a running total of the nation’s debt.
As ThinkProgress noted yesterday, Romney’s attack ignores that his own economic plan would add more than $10 trillion to the national debt. It also ignores Romney’s record as governor of Massachusetts, which had the nation’s highest per capita debt total when he left office in 2007.

A MUST READ AND A MUST TWEET, PLEASE ……… “HOW MITT ROMNEY GETS AWAY WITH HIS LYING”
I don’t want to get too excited, but I am hoping we have finally reached a tipping point with Mitt Romney’s “LYING”. Notice the title of Greg Sargent’s post. He actually uses the “L” word. Mitt Romney continues to lie even when his lies have been debunked. It is long past due that the media do their job of educating and informing the public with the facts. It shouldn’t take a press release from OFA to document the lies from the Romney campaign. Isn’t that what journalists are supposed to do?? No wonder Mitt Romney is reluctant to do interviews and press conferences. Some enterprising reporter might ask him to explain why he is basing his entire campaign on falsehoods. Imagine that.
How Mitt Romney gets away with his lying
By Greg Sargent
Yesterday, Mitt Romney gave a big speech in which he accused Obama of lighting a “prairie fire of debt.” It’s a good line, and it has received widespread media coverage.
Romney’s speech has already been dissected by Jonathan Chait and Steve Benen. They note that it’s entirely at odds with conventional understanding of how deficits work, and utterly disconnected from context, rendering it almost unquantifiably misleading.
But I wanted to make another point. If you scan through all the media attention Romney’s speech received, you are hard-pressed to find any news accounts that tell readers the following rather relevant points:
1) Nonpartisan experts believe Romney’s plans would increase the deficit far more than Obama’s would.
2) George W. Bush’s policies arguably are more responsible for increasing the deficit than Obama’s are.
In March 2002, the Boston Globe reported that Romney’s wife, Ann, his son Tagg, and Tagg’s wife, Jennifer, had all signed a petition supporting a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage and domestic partner benefits in Massachusetts. At the time, Massachusetts provided limited benefits to same-sex couples, and Romney’s campaign position had been that no changes to state law were needed. And so, he was forced to call the petition that his own family members had signed extreme.
“Mitt did not know they signed it, and Mitt does not support it,” Eric Fehrnstrom, Romney’s chief spokesman both then and now, said at the time. “As far as Mitt is concerned, it goes farther than current law, and therefore it’s unnecessary.”
Fehrnstrom did not immediately return a request for comment Wednesday as to whether he remembered the petition.
Lawmaker calls for peace talks between deceased Arafat, comatose Sharon
By Julian Pecquet – 05/15/12 03:26 PM ET
Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.) is seeing his foreign policy credentials come under fire after calling for Middle East peace negotiations between deceased Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who has been in a coma since 2006.
Pitts’s remarks were included in a form letter his office sent to a constituent last month. His office blames a bureaucratic snafu, but Pitts’s Democratic opponent in the November election sees an opening.
“Being this completely out of touch with such a major foreign-policy matter is inexcusable,” Aryanna Strader wrote in an email to supporters, according to the web site PoliticsPA. “If we are ever going to change Congress, we must change who we send there.
What about peace talks with cornwallace and Washington? LOL!
Just a couple weeks before Jamie Dimon announced publicly that his banking firm JPMorgan had lost a stunning $2 billion betting with depositor funds, he took to Fox News to criticize the Volcker Rule, meant to ban federally backstopped banks from engaging in proprietary trading.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno said Wednesday he’s opposed to a plan from House Republicans to slow the reduction of U.S. forces over the next five years.
The House Armed Services Committee included language in the Defense authorization bill to limit troop reductions to 15,000 per year for the Army and 5,000 for the Marine Corps through 2017, a slower pace than the military had planned for.
