See. You finally made it.
Chips you sure know how to pick the best photos. That’s my President and FLOTUS sharing a dance with me. We’re listening to one of Donna’s disco tunes
Alright, Hopefruit2! Congrats!
The enthusiasm oozes out.
That’s SOME Mitt Mania – no wonder they needed a lil’ bit o Rev Wright to spice things up a bit!
Congrats (grr!) Hf! (with the strawberry falling out of my hand and onto the laptop.)
I was talking to you, and you LEFT me !! No worries…I always talk to myself
No, no, I went back for you, Df, and you weren’t there! I looked up, saw the gate open and made a mad dash, knocking over my snack that I had just very reluctantly gone to prepare and it was all in vain, because Hf was already through the gate! The thing is whenever I’m really hungry and can’t wait anymore that’s when Chips Chica waltzs back in! She does it EVERY time I’m home and ready to take up the first place challenge. I know that as soon as I move she’ll some so I try to stick it out, but I just can’t hack the stomach grumbles and groans sometimes, you know. Sigh. …
Oh well, there’ll be a next time. Good job Hf!
OK..I thought I was talking to myself…..all is forgiven:) Hf was quick today!
Weren’t you first, first thing this mornng?
Good grief!! This isn’t just white…it is ultra white, glow in the dark white. Whew! But I do love the the old lady with the sour look drinking her coffee–LOL!
Worth bringing over.. full of good stuff. http://www.thedailybanter.com/2012/05/the-truth-about-the-president-and-the-deficit/
A couple of months ago in Arizona, Mitt Romney attacked the president on this topic with a whopper lie: “He said he’d cut the deficit in half. He’s doubled it. He’s doubled it.”
Mitt Romney actually said that. Well, no, the president didn’t cut the deficit in half. And he hasn’t doubled it. Obviously. Romney lied again. Actually, the president is on course to erasing the entire deficit by 2017, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The 2017 budget deficit, which will reflect President Obama’s final spending requests (a similar dynamic to Bush’s last deficit of 2009), could end up being zero.
Conversely, the Tax Policy Center reported that the Romney tax plan would explode the deficit by nearly $3 trillion over ten years. And that doesn’t even take into consideration the reversal of the president’s deficit cutting policies like the Affordable Care Act, or another recession, or whatever Romney decides to do in Iran.
Don’t let the Republicans get away with their ignorant lies about the deficit and the debt. Feel free to steal the above charts or to repeat what I’ve written here.
Statement by the President on the Passing of Donna Summer
// Michelle and I were saddened to hear about the passing of Donna Summer. A five-time Grammy Award winner, Donna truly was the “Queen of Disco.” Her voice was unforgettable, and the music industry has lost a legend far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Donna’s family and her dedicated fans. //
Love Mitt Mania — too funny!!
The White House argued that while the broad figures in Sessions’ rendition of Obama’s budget are accurate, it lacks specificity on how they would be achieved and could permit appropriators to reach the targets in harmful ways.
“While Sessions’ amendment has all the same topline numbers as the President’s budget, he puts forward no specifics or ways about how he would reach these targets. His proposal is a shell that could be filled with a number of things that could hurt our economy and hurt the middle class,” the senior administration official said. “For example, rather than ending tax breaks for millionaires his budget could hit the revenue target by raising taxes on the middle class and rather than ending wasteful programs, his budget could hit its spending target with severe cuts to important programs.”
The assessment was backed by Senate Budget Chairman Kent Conrad (D-ND).
“It wasn’t the President’s budget,” Conrad told TPM.
Oh, there’s my very favourite Mitt fan – the coffee drinking charmer who is not shy to tell Mitt to take a hike using body language!
Yes, I adore this lady with her coffee and her rolling eyes!
Isn’t she sweet, Andogriff? And Mitt R doesn’t seem to notice at all!
Is hand to face/chin a universal sign of boredom/depression? I see it in two separate pics above.

BTW, if you check my Twitter TL you’ll see that I was diligent in sharing the ‘profound decision’ with Jake, ChuckieT, etc.
This the source of my puzzlement. With how venal Romney is, why is he gaining in the polls. Is it just the “I am the white alternative” to Pres. Barack Obama tribal alliance that is working in his favor now? I’m wracking my brain. Why is he gaining women’s support? Why does any body trust such an outright soulless liar who has promised to gut the very foundations of ordinary Americans’ lives? What kind of country is this. Folks back in my native land tell me they just don’t understand American voters, and wonder if there is a nihilistic streak playing out here.
This election should be no contest. With all of his achievements Pres. Obama should be coast on 70%+ numbers all the way to re-election? Why is a mediocre candidate like Romeny given the benefit of the doubt on basic competence when his record shows otherwise, while Pres. Obama’s historic achievements are discounted or simply treated with an eyeroll? Even Bill Clinton whose policies of deregulation set in motion a lot of the gunk that Pres. Obama has been cleaning up; who signed DADT & DOMA into law gets high marks from Americans while the guy who has worked to correct these grave errors is vilified? And people want to tell me RACE is not the reason?
RACE IS a factor and no tip-toeing around it will make it any different. Minorities & women experience this all the time in their professional lives, where their achievements re never acknowledged, their skills diminished while some white guy gets unearned praise for simply being a middling guy. It sux!.
Romney is not gaining in the polls. The polling outfits skew their samples to produce a given result. The decision to regurgitate Rev Wright is a dead giveaway that the GOP is desperate and that Romney is not doing nearly as “well” as they or the MSM would want voters to believe.
Sure I understand the polls are skewed, but we cannot deny that he has gained some. His favorability has shot up to 50%, Whichever poll you look at this is a dead heat. my question is why is he even a contender to begin with. That’s m problem. Why is he even credible on any front whatsoever?
Forget the polls. Register voters.
Obama vs Romney: AP: Obama +8, Fox News: Obama +7, Reuters: Obama +7, CNN: Obama +9, ABC: Obama +7, PRRI: Obama +9 #POLLS— Claude Gauvin (@JeffersonObama) May 17, 2012
Besides unreliable AND right-wing Gallup, I’ve also seen the polls and I haven’t seen anything credible outside of Right-wing GAllup to support your claim that Romney’s favorability has shot up 50% (a consistent polling figure).
Zi, take the polls with a grain of salt. The only poll that will be relevant is the final poll on Nov. 6th. The President will be elected.
zizi2, what poll have you seen were Romney favorability has shot up to 50%. If Romney favorability is 50%, what is President Obama? Hell most of the Republicans don’t like Romney, the only reason they support him, only reason is they think, hope he can defeat President Obama. They don’t care that Romney is a lying flip flopper, with no core. These haters would accept Charles Manson if they thought he could defeat the President. And zizi2, I ain’t buying the B.S. you seem to have fallen for.
I believe it’s a Gallup/USA Today poll. I’ve had enough experience with Gallup to know that their stuff doesn’t always smell right.
The main gain in the polls has been the end of primary and consolidation of GOP support. This past week Obama up +12 in New Hampshire, +7 in Ohio, +10 in Iowa- all “swing states”. Winning women in all states by double digits. Obama wins these states, he wins the election. The national tracking polls are meaningless and inaccurate These polls were done by PPP, best pollster around. Stop watching TV, stop watching the talking heads, and you might then stop “chicken littling” with the anxiety attacks.
I don’t pay those polls no never mind.
I just keep moving forward, contribute $$s when I can and to the ground game and then I am really waiting for the debates.
PO will knock the &*%$#%^ out.
I agree with your take on the effect race plays in the treatment of PBO and his accomplishments by his countrymen. It does seems that Mitt is basing his whole campaign on the fact that he is a white man and PBO is not (hence his refusal to give specifics on how he will govern when elected). The need of some (on both the left and the right) to disparage PBO on any and every occassion points to a deep anxiety some people experience when they encounter accomplished, poised and successful African-Americans. It seems to really threaten their self-image to acknowledge that PBO is smarter than they are. It makes no sense, but then neither does racism.
Yo zizi2 you’re fretting over some b.s. Where are you getting your negative info, hmm?
This is where $ comes in. Lots of $. GOP are pouring $ into EVERY part of a system they helped shape to ensure they get back the Whitehouse. They need someone (any repub) there to continue rubberstamping their ideology.
Remember, the GOP have been for sometime occupying places of power and influence at local and national areas, e.g. media, school boards, local groups, states, legislative branches (ALEC). Polls are one part of the system they know they can use to CONTROL the ‘emotion’ to support their message. You think about it, if someone feels disheartened by a poll, they question what’s the point in voting. And if they do go out to vote, will they be thinking, well most people tend to think this way…so I may as well vote the way the polls say?
Thankfully, more people are questioning like you did above…why is it this close?’ With more people engaged in what is going on (personally, I’ve never been as involved as I have been since I began to listen and believe in what PBO was saying back in 2008) and peeling back the layers to find the answers to their ‘why’ question. When we do, we are sharing this information with others.
It’s then up to each of us to decide what we want to do about this information. OFA enables us do something about it.
Well said Berny. With social media, people are able to push back instantly against the lying pollsters, msm hacks etc. So far more voters are getting engaged than in 2008.
Exactly right. White people have lost their damn minds, and they have found the perfect WHITE candidate to take their country back from Blackie the Black Man. They don’t care if they take the country off a cliff, they will hold their noses and vote for the any one white (sorry, Herman).
“Some” white people. There are plenty of white people who get it, and love, respect, and even ENJOY having Pres. Obama in the White House. A majority of white people had to vote for PBO to get him elected.
Now I don’t disagree that are some hate-filled white folks who hate, hate, HATE Pres. Obama with the heat of a thousand suns. They are the ones who are totally batshit crazy. In fact, insane doesn’t even begin to describe their activities regarding PBO. And, unfortunately, there are a few black folk and other people of color (uh, Michelle Malkin, I’m talking about you!!) that fit in that category also.
“A majority of white people had to vote for PBO to get him elected.”
While it’s certainly true that enough white people voted for Obama to put him in the Oval Office, the blunt fact remains that a majority of white people did not. Although Obama beat John McCain in the popular vote by an impressive seven-point margin, McCain beat Obama among white voters by an even more impressive 12-point margin. Obama got 53 percent of the broad electorate to vote for him but only 43 percent of the white electorate.
I’m sorry Dr. Sisco, but i strongly object to those kinds of broad generalizations about entire groups of people, based on the actions of some. As Isonprize said, there are plenty of white people who do not fit this description at all.
I can understand your frustration but don’t write us all off. The election depends on the swing states. I live in Minnesota where roughly 90% of the population is white. And yet President Obama won this state 54 to 45 in 2008. It’s true that even here there are some white people that appear to have lost their minds but I still expect that the majority will vote for PBO again in November.
Woa! This gal is so white you need to wear sunglasses if I wear shorts. I love my President (yes! love love love him) and I can’t stand romney. I happen to have a lot of white friends who totally agree with me. Please don’t group us.
tell the truth, why don’t you!!!
About Willard-truth is stranger than fiction?
In a long-awaited decision, the U.S. Commerce Department has issued a preliminary decision to apply tariffs to Chinese-made solar modules being imported into the U.S. The tariffs range from 31 percent to 250 percent.
The preliminary tariffs were issued after a lengthy investigation by the Commerce Department into whether Chinese companies are “dumping” solar panels into the U.S. market below cost. These tariffs follow a March decision to issue small countervailing duties on Chinese module producers that are getting illegal domestic subsidies, according to Commerce.
Today’s issued tariffs are as follows: Trina, 31.14 percent; Suntech, 31.22 percent; and 31.18 percent for all other Chinese producers that participated in the investigation. For companies that did not participate, Commerce has slapped a massive preliminary tariff of 249.96 percent.
But The Donald said That Obama loves da Chinese and…

Paul Volcker on the Volcker Rule:
You’d think after such a calamitous economic fall, there’d be a strong consensus on reinforcing the protections that keep us out of harm’s way. But in some powerful corners, the opposite is happening. Business and political forces, including hordes of lobbyists, are working hard to diminish or destroy these protections. One of the biggest bull’s-eyes is on the Volcker Rule, a section of the Dodd-Frank Act that aims to keep the banks in which you deposit your money from gambling it on their own — sometimes risky — investments. [...]
Volcker contends the rule aims to curb conflicts of interest between bankers and their customers. He suggests that former investment companies like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, which sought banking licenses during the economic crisis in order to access federal protection against failing, should now turn in those licenses if they want to do speculative trading.
“You shouldn’t run a financial system on the expectation of government support. We’re supposed to be a free enterprise system,” Volcker tells Moyers. “The problem of course is once they get rescued, does that lead to the conclusion they’ll get rescued in the future?”
So I went ahead and paged through the actual “Rev. Wright” document that got leaked to the NY Times. It was an advertising pitch both laughable and horrifying at the same time. These guys are a bunch of idiots and hacks who are scary only because they have access to big money.
One thing that caught my attention that I have not seen mentioned: The proposal included the use of a new, “not inexpensive” technology to place “Barack Obama’s computer-generated face on the filmed body of a similarly-sized actor.” Is there some kind of law against using someone’s likeness this way? I know there’ve been ads that “re-animate” deceased celebrities, but a living candidate currently running for office? A President, no less?!
Legally, you can’t use the image of a dead celebrity for advertising without the permission of the heir(s). The idea of putting PBO’s face on a “similarly-sized actor” sounds too much like Newties moon colonies. People are not stupid enough to be fooled by such jiggery-pokery — except the idiots who will vote for Romney anyway. The Mitt Mania displayed hilariously in the above pictures is the REAL campaign.
a night owl, I thought that there is a rule, law, regulation of some sort that prohibits using the likeness of the President of the United States. But for some reason, I remember that being in relation to advertising. I do hope it’s illegal, though.
They may hate Barack Obama, but it is STILL the office of the President of the United States, and they ought not to be able to fake the image of the person in that office.
I think that veryslowwrighter, above, is right, that such an ad would be either obviously fake or quickly denounced as fake; nobody would actually be fooled by it or changed by it. I’m just so disgusted that some people hate him so much that they want to make him literally dance a jig to their tune.
So they’re resting their success on producing FAKE images of POTUS? WTF?
This NATO summit in Chigago—-what an enormous headache. I can’t figure out why anyone would ever want it in their city. F-16′s will be flying overhead to protect air space, Coast Guard cutter protecting lake front, lots of other supporting air craft, businesses telling employees to work from home or dress like a protester, multiple busloads and planeloads of demonstrators arriving from around the country and world, professional and otherwise, multiple demonstrations at Obama campaign headquarters already and at participating country’s consulates, Shedd Aquarium employees locking themselves in for the duration with sleeping bags and food to protect their sea life, including a dolphin expected to give birth, thousands of police units arriving from other states, National Guard etc. etc. etc. etc. Just unbelievable. Will be glad when it’s over with and hope for no major incidents.
Yep, let’s hope for peaceful demonstrations, and this preparation will not be put to use. I was around during the ’68 Democratic Nat’l convention. That was not pretty. I know Rahm has better sense on handling protesters than Daley did at the time.
A total pain in the ass. And to think the former mayor thought Chicago could handle the Olympics! I’m just hoping and praying that it goes off with little incident.
One of my favorites. Sorry, I loved disco
No sorries! We shook our legs & moved those hips like there was no tomorrow! RIP Donna!
Yes we did!
And we still do, only not so much in public places anymore, nor wearing miniskirts!
I will never forget going out to a club in downtown Los Angeles with a group of friends and we danced to a lot of Donna Summer. This was 1975, 76, 77 during the height of disco. I think the only thing good about disco was Donna Summer songs, other than that I was glad that craze did not last very long.
I had more fun dancing to her music than almost anything else I have ever done. She was a keeper. I hope she is in heaven with my best friend dancing to disco.
After reading the last thread, I over to that Twitter machine. I followed all those suggested names, and a few more folks I didn’t know was tweeting. Anyway thanks to LL for giving me the courage to try that thing again. Now I’m not sure, but I believe my handle or twitter name is char@ifuhav2ask. If you follow me, I’ll probably get you lost in Tweeter town. I can’t promise that I’d lead you very far.
I’ve decided that the digital clock behind Willard in his press meeting is simply the nanoseconds he has left before his head malfunctions/melts and reveals his wiring. Ahem, in deference to Chips, I used the word wiring not micro chips!
Okay folks. It’s been awhile so I thought I leave this before my trip.

31. Sometimes I’ll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey – but I’d bet my behind everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!
“We can’t all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by.
All good. I object to #20. It’s not nice.
Lighten-up vsw I meant no harm.
didn’t like that one either…
I bought a map to the United States 1:4 million in 1986, for my first coast to coast bike trip. It had “do not turn off main roads without making local inquiries” hints on it – in Nevada.
you silly Yardarm!! Those were funny.
Where are you going this time???
WI for a coupla days. and Ho-Chunk casino.
Enjoy. Hope you win some $$.
Let us pray! I just do it to cool out. After 10 years up there I’m even. However, I’m ahead of Vegas big time.
Do you play slots or black jack or texas holdem? Maybe you’ll be on TV and we can watch you.
Slots for giggles but the only games where odds are close to being favorable are single deck blackjack and craps. Everything else the house holds the odds.
Have a wonderful time and “break a leg”. My Grandmere was very strict on never wishing anyone the “L” word.
there is a city wide meeting on Tuedsay….at Bright Hope Baptist Church…to organize against Corbett’s budget cuts. to the school district..

25. I just keep saying ‘what’ louder and louder each time. It annoys the hell out of them.
Enjoy your trip to the cheese factory.
# 5 made me LOL. I remember being in Home Ec class in the 70′s and the teacher actually taught us how to do that….I still think of that and get pissed off. Room full of girls…like it was solely our job to fold laundry and tend to the housekeeping! Even then I knew they weren’t talking to me…I still don’t know how to fold a damn fitted sheet.
The answer. desertflower and yardarm, is that it’s impossible to fold a fitted sheet — smooth it out and roll it up.
And yardarm, the ‘what”? business. About two years ago, my husband started that, and I’d tell him whatever it was a little louder. Then I stopped and just looked at him, severely patient, and he’d finally say, Yes, I did gas the car, or Yes, I did turn on the sprinklers, or Yes, I did put the clothes in the drier. He’d heard me all right, he’d just got into the habit of saying, “What?” And I just got tired of hearing it. I think when he hit 76 and finally retired from teaching that he just decided he couldn’t hear me anymore. He hardly says What? anymore. He did get a hearing aid while he was teaching his last few years of electrical engineering because he couldn’t hear his female students’ higher and thinner voices clearly.
However, I did tell him that saying What? all the time was making him sound old.
yardarm, folding a fitted sheet is easy. I got instructions many years through watching Martha Stewart but there are great instructions on You Tube via Google. Happy Folding!!!
Are you gettin this df?
joanshaw is getting it, yardarm, and laughing cynically.
NO ‘Cuz I’m STILL pissed they thought they only had to teach GIRLS how to do that…damn sheets, I figure if they’re clean and on the bed….
I am deep in #20. 22 is a plus despite aching shoulders. I would rather lift than walk. Thanks for making the obvious funny and reminding us how much we are alike no matter where we live.
Speaking of drives – #26 is me – and #30 is my husband – what a team – LOL
I agree with all of these, especially #28. You have NO idea…
Great list, #1-5, but I can’t even get past #6, without a visceral reaction. Of course, learning cursive is really necessary. One of my pet peeves is that some schools have stopped teaching it, like to my youngest grandchildren! When I heard that, I literally got some chalkboard paper, wrote cursive on it in chalk, no need to mention what it says, and framed it for my wall. Anybody who enters my house should know we write cursive here. How ya gonna read John’s letters to Abigail in some museum, if you don’t know cursive, for instance?
Okay, done with rant. Nothing against you, Yardarm, I’m just a little weird about cursive, hope that wasn’t too obvious. Back to #7.
P.S. I forgot to add I’m kind of the “Queen of the Dying Art Forms.” But I guess you could tell, by the cursive rant.
So many of these had me saying “exactly!” and I swear someone’s been watching me drive to work every day… Favourites: 2, 5, 7, 9, 21, 26!!!!, 30!!!!!, 32!!!!!!!!!!.
Have a safe trip, Yardarm!
Am I the only one worried about Mitt mania!! Looks like the same crowd that followed McCain, except they were taking a nap. It seems like Mitt has shored up the “coffee’s too damn hot” crowd. I was really hoping we could get them this time around. Our work is certainly cut out for us.
Happy birthday, Tally.

Obama delivers remarks at the Symposium on Global Agriculture and Food Security.
Obama holds a bilateral meeting with President Francois Hollande of France.
Biden attends a campaign event in Wilmington, Delaware.
After hosting the G8 summit at Camp David on Saturday, President Barack Obama will host the NATO summit, beginning Sunday in Chicago. Mr. Obama is preparing for the NATO gathering, which has Afghanistan at the top of the agenda.
The United States last hosted a NATO summit in 1999 – two years before the al-Qaida terrorist attacks on the United States that sparked the first use of the common defense provision in the NATO Charter.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization has expanded since then. For more than 10 years, it has been focused on Afghanistan since the 2001 attacks. Last year, it took military action in Libya in support of United Nations resolutions.
Under a timetable set two years ago, the United States and NATO are withdrawing all foreign troops from Afghanistan, about 130,000, by 2014. The Chicago summit will approve a formal shift to Afghanistan leading its own security, beginning next year.
The first meeting President Obama will have on Sunday will be with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Mr. Obama spoke from Afghanistan earlier this month after he signed a strategic pact with the Afghan government.

Yeah, because we have SUCH an underfunded military!!!!!!!!!!!! Graph…
The eighteen nations with the largest military budgets in 2010 are shown in the chart above (click to enlarge). The United States, with a budget of $698 billion, spends more on defense than the next seventeen nations combined. The United States military spending is almost six times that of the next biggest spender, China ($119 billion) and more than eleven times that of Russia ($59 billion).
The Department of Defense budget in fiscal year 2010 accounted for 19% of the United States federal budget and 28% of estimated tax revenues. The U.S. accounts for 40% of the world’s yearly defense outlays.
That was 2010
So if it were cut in half, we would still be ahead.
RT @mbevens: 28 NH Romney backers voted for bridge project Romney plans to mock tomorrow: bit.ly/KqrS6E— Ben LaBolt (@BenLaBolt) May 17, 2012
Is it that they think the Press will not notice? Or what?
I don’t know if this is a face palm moment or yet another fail. Little did Seamus know at the time, but he could have outsmarted Mitt.
Why is Romney mocking the bridge project? Does Willard not like bridges being built for better access?
Forty years of Conservative policies have destroyed the infrastructure in this country. If there isn’t some serious infrastructure sending soon, then the country will simply fall further down on the list that companies want to do business in. If you can’t trust that your truck won’t get blown up by a burst gas pipe, or your employees to get sick from fracking or hazardous equipment, or that a bridge won’t collapse while your trucks are delivering product – then there are plenty of other countries that have been investing in their infrastructure for the past ten years of war that can do the job, and are just itching to do so. It amazes me that people keep rewarding the GOP for ruining the country.
VOTE = AntiDope. This isn’t an auto-correction.
I just saw this on Twitter
”Elizabeth Warren just stated she is working with ODS in Chief, Adam Green’s PCCC.”
I’m really shocked by this….not Adam Green?? He’s like Jane Hamsher……just a hater……it’s very disappointing.
He has grass roots and is on Cenks Show almost every night, promoting his agency.
He specifically has targeted Warren as a Progressive he wants to shape.
That guy is despicable. I’m with you on your disappointment.
Well, Adam Green better get on the PObama Express then Because Elizabeth is there and she cares too much about her country to have the faux progs Ruin it for PBO & Our Country..
Give them a CLUE, ELIZABETH WARREN.
I have a cyberbuddy in Mass who volunteers for her Campaign and i will ask her about this.
The guy with the stars and stripes hat with the Romney licence plate on it seems pretty fired up and ready to bite.
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — For the first time, a private company will launch a rocket to the International Space Station, sending it on a grocery run this weekend that could be the shape of things to come for America’s space program.
If this unmanned flight and others like it succeed, commercial spacecraft could be ferrying astronauts to the orbiting outpost within five years.
It’s a transition that has been in the works since the middle of the last decade, when President George W. Bush decided to retire the space shuttle and devote more of NASA’s energies to venturing deeper into space.
Saturday’s flight by Space Exploration Technologies Corp. is “a thoroughly exciting moment in the history of spaceflight, but is just the beginning of a new way of doing business for NASA,” said President Barack Obama’s chief science adviser, John Holdren.
A California company.

RT @Obama2012: RT @thinkprogress: THE DEBT CLOCK, if Romney becomes President http://t.co/yDIUt9Tl— Obama for America PA (@OFA_PA) May 18, 2012
lol I love it…..perfect!
Well thank God we don’t have to worry about what it would look like if Mitt became President, he will not become President.
Get use to it right wing haters, it shall be President Barack Obama….2012-2016
Heck, in our hearts, PBO will be “the best President ever.”
I don’t care what anybody says, toting that thing around to every event, is going to be costly!
Take notice Mitt want to change the subject from talking about jobs, because he want to change the talk about Bain Capital. I hope VP Biden keep up the talk like only he can do. I just loved it when he talk of Mitt taking credit for the auto industry recovery, and VP Biden made the cross sign.
I wish it falls and breaks, and I wish that happens while he’s giving one of his boring speeches.
Oh snap. Kick their nuts with their own legs.
Love this rapid response, ‘chicago style’ politics.
Amk, you really have a way words. You always make me laugh.
I’ll show this to the wifey unit and get smacked on the head.
Chips, I am always a huge fan of yur mitt-mania pics. Thank you for this great collection! So funny, pathetic.
mittbot's 'prairie fire of debt' http://t.co/XQDj8Y2L— (@amk4obama) May 18, 2012
What does Mitt know of a prairie fire? He’s never lived NEAR a prairie! Someone taught him that figure of speech….doesn’t suit him at all. He just never sounds real.
It’s all “I love your grits” lies to appeal to those idjit rednecks.
Mitt hasn’t learned that it’s dangerous to play with fire. Blowback happens…..
Yup. Hope he gets burned beyond recognition. Figuratively speaking, of course.
and Happy Birthday Tally!!
Okay. Earlier I thought I had noticed a link having to do with some of the history on Camp David. It wasn’t in the first thread of the day, which I felt I had seen it. Does anyone remember this link, and if so, could you please help me find it? Thanking you in advance. Had a whopping day, am quite worn out, won’t be here long tonight! Will post The French Job link one more time tho!
Why in the f&&& did Lawrence O. have to play that old John McCain Wright ad which they never used? It creeps me out.
LOD is strange.
Is that true? So somebody finally played it? I was wondering who would take the bait. I just knew that it was asking too much for the MSM to have teased it all day, then not play it. That makes Larry O, worst than McCain who at least had the decency to can the ad. So now it gets played for free, by the one station that’s suppose to lean PBO.
Yeah – that made absolutely no sense. It’s not like McCain actually stopped the ugliness – we’ve already seen it all. Playing the ad for free was totally unnecessary.
Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!
Chips, that’s a motivarional poster! Can we stay sane looking at that for 4 years? YIKES! GOTV!
Oh my. Lawrence killed it in the Rewrite tonight. I guess that will be the last time a so-called “economist” (Ben Stein) will question the intelligence of President Barack Obama. I need a cigarette after that dress down. And I don’t smoke.
I saw that too, PolitalJ! At the end the message was: Sam Stein, who the heck is he? Oh, that guy who was in that movie so long ago! Yup. Jeebus, what a self-hater.
Thanks for the info – think I’d better catch the replay.
job, the vid linky is available here
Lawrence O'Donnell Slams Ben Stein For Comparing Obama To 'Presidential Genius' Of Nixon (VIDEO) mediaite.com/a/dwdcf— Mediaite (@mediaite) May 18, 2012
Thanks! Also have it recording on the DVR.
Where were you on November 8, 2008? Kelauni and Ashaya, co-founders of Zenful Revolution share their experiences of that eventful night here: http://www.zenfulrevolutionapparel.com/pages/about-us. Check out their movement blog: http://www.zenfulrevolutionapparel.com/blogs/news then help support them reach their goal of getting 10,000 “Eighties Babies for Obama” involved in the campaign by ‘liking’ their FB page, following and retweeting them on Twitter, then letting all your 20/30 something friends know about this effort. (Portions of all t-shirt proceeds will be donated to the OFA campaign.)
Cookemom, thank you for the links! Will definitely get those Ts for my young voter “babies,” especially since I’ve been on their case to GOTV! Bless these totally cool lovelies!
Thanks Xtine, they’re trying really hard to get more enthusiasm going for this campaign among their age group. some of their peers have seemed to want to take the back seat this election. Hopefully, this will generate some new GOTV for the younger set.
Have just found out it’s Tally’s birthday. I don’t see much posting from her today so I assume she’s out partying.
Happy Birthday Tally!!!!!
50 OWS anti war People in front of Obama Hq, again.
They wanted to deliver message to Messina, unable to do so,
Calling for the US to leave NATO, which they call a protected of the 1%!
This is such bullshit. And I am losing patience with OWS! They are like self- righteous Mosquitos!
A great vid
This guy exposes the lie of trickle down. He had a great interview on @Lawrence. Consumers create jobs, not rich people. Duh.. what a concept. People buying products… Econ 101 but the MSM hasn’t got that one yet.
Wasn’t that Henry Ford’s usp ? I pay my people well so that they can go and buy the products I make ?
Hi amk! Life’s gotten in the way of my TOD fun today, so I just popped in to see what’s new and holy smokes a lot of stuff came up today.
I’m bummed that I missed Tally’s Birthday. Happy Belated Birthday to our Princess of Passion!! I hope it was superlative in every way, Sister-girl!
Chips has posted a friggin’ smorgasbord of outstanding information today/yesterday. I’m tickled fuchsia to see the pushback the RW bagger PAC has gotten over that disgusting hatchet job they were trying to lay on my President. It’s gratifying to see that people will no longer stand for that kind of crap. The world knows who PBO is — they won’t be fooled by the haters.
The video from Stephanie Cutter — awesome; the video about Miss Dorothy Cooper in TN — awesome. VPOTUS, God love him, telling it like it TIS again. POTUS and FLOTUS demonstrating what it really means to support veterans and military families. They are the models of leadership that this country needs now more than ever.
And now this gem that you’ve shared with us amk!! Gasp! Tears are welled up in my eyes! This was Fan-TASTIC! I want to plant a big wet kiss on Mr. Hanauer’s mouth and you, amk ,for sharing his brilliance with us. [I hope our TOD-Twitter Brigade, jumps on this one in a big way and gets this puppy out there all across the interwebs -- it must be seen and discussed far and wide!!] People need to be shown in the clearest terms, as this talk so eloquently does, the real truth about what will move our ecomony forward. The Republican lies need to be exposed.
I’m immensely grateful for this site. Chips, you probably get tired of hearing this over and over again, but I cannot thank you enough for everything you do. You are an absolute Godsend. I love my TOD family soooo much!!
Condelences to the family, friends and fans of Donna Summer. Like her fans all across the world, I think of her music as part of the soundtrack of my life. May she rest in peace.
Gotta pack it in for the night, guys! Sweet dreams!
Hey Dudette – I agree- the pushback on that racist nonsense, and the fast backtracking from all concerned, was truly heartwarming. That proposal was worthy of the ridicule it received and the revulsion it elicited.
I just bought his book. Have to support thinking people.
In the early hours of Friday 18 May 2012, some things – certainly NOT our biosphere & all the other essential elements of our existence – remain the SAME ….

Bobfr – Fabulous, as usual. I’m beginning to think you “think” in hashtags! It’s a gift!
Good Morning all! You know what today is:
I am going to be really mad if the MSM starts playing this Rev Wright clip, in a loop for 2 weeks.
They already cannot stop talking about it.
The MSM is truly pathetic. Everybody has repudiated it, but the MSM. Sadly!
It has given them all an excuse to load it up again. I’ve seen it on all the local and national news reports. I see some spokesperson is on MJ trying to save the Ricketts family (and the millions of taxpayer money for Wrigley renovation)—-and failing. He looks nervous—from “Strategic Perceptions”, some billionaire group trying to take down President Obama. He keeps saying all he cares about is fiscal responsibility, not Rev. Wright, which conflicts with NYT story, that the Wright plan had already been approved, Larry Elder had already been contacted about being the “literate black” voice of the ad etc. All this junk is just unbelievable. The Supreme Ct. should be fired for that democracy-destroying Citizens United decision.
I keep thinking it was part of their plan, to put it out there, repudiate it, and let the MSM talk about it incessantly! Check!
dotster3, I agree with you, specially about the SC and that decision they made concerning Citizens United, President Obama warn about all kind of mess like this happening, and when he said it he said it in front of those SC judges.
President Obama Friday will announce a new initiative to fight hunger in Africa.
The program, to be laid out in a speech to the Symposium on Global Agriculture and Food Security, aims to combine investments from private companies existing government aid projects in order to strengthen Africa’s agricultural sector.
The plan has already secured commitments of more than $3 billion in investments from about 45 companies and is intended to move 50 million people in Africa out of poverty, White House officials said Thursday in a pre-speech briefing.
The speech is at 10:15 a.m. in the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center.
Willards new ad- Keystone , Taxcuts for the wealthy and Obamacare.
Oh yeah, real positive. Next?
Have there been any ads about the wonderful job Mitt did as Governor of Massachusett? I don’t think he ever mention that he was Governor of Massachusett. All the jobs he create, Mass rank 47th out of 50 states for jobs creation when Mitt was Governor.
The Banks are lining up for Robney-
jovie141, as Gomer Pyle would say…….Surprise…..Surprise….Surprise
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) raised $6.5 million in April and has $25 million in the bank as it works to retake the majority in the House, according to fundraising figures obtained by The Hill.
Democrats said it was the largest April haul in the committee’s history, and 85 percent of contributions were for $50 or less. The DCCC has raised more than $90 million so far this cycle and, like the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), has cleared out its debt.
