oh things are in limbo. I’m still looking – although my son is going w/ a realtor today and going to see 4 houses, I’m interested mainly in two of them.. so am hopeful
Lawrence O’Donnell of The Last Word takes on Mitt Romney’s job creation record and the bogus notion that the rich create jobs. Trickle down is totally debunked. He interviews Nick Hanauer. Bottom line, consumer demand rules everything.
I saw it last night. It was excellent. You could tell Lawrence was thoroughly impressed. Mr. Hanauer needs to be heard far and wide, and I believe he will be. Bottom line, the whole idea of trickle-down economics is bogus and is simply a type of religious unreality that its believers continue to adhere to fanatically no matter what the real-world facts and consequences.
I agree PJ. That was a terrific speech. What I like about it is that it’s short and too the point. Everybody gets it. It’s not complicated. I hope the video goes viral. It will do more to educate the American people than anything they will ever see on television. When you cut to the chase and explain things in such a clear and concise fashion it can do wonders. Light bulbs should be going off all over the place.
I would love to see something similar on government 101. A short talk that could focus on the gridlock created by Republican Party obstruction. Too many Americans are just clueless about how their government works. The problem with that is it makes it too easy to just blame everything on PBO. It’s as if congress doesn’t exist. If the American people understood how their government worked and understood how their elected officials were voting, maybe the people doing the obstructing would be getting the blame they deserve for not doing their jobs.
Yes. We need a sort of re-education on many topics to pull us out of the fog we’ve been in for a generation. It takes a new crop of exciting, believable, relatable leaders to carry the message. People will listen.
But his “day one” agenda isn’t exactly compelling. Romney wants an environmentally-risky oil pipeline that won’t lower gas prices and will create far fewer jobs than Republicans believe. He wants tax cuts for “job creators” — i.e., Romney’s very wealthy friends — that won’t help the economy and would make the deficit much worse.
And Romney intends to kill the Affordable Care Act on his first day, taking health care away from millions of Americans, raising prescription drug prices for seniors, and even raising taxes on small businesses that are currently taking advantage of Obamacare’s tax breaks.
Is Ann going to make Mitt get a job once he lose in November 6th? Let’s hope it’s no more Bain Capital, where he fire people just to make more money for his rich friends;.
Does Romney think he will be elected along with the super majority in the Senate? If Democrats maintain their majority in the Senate I am absolutely sure that they will never allow the repeal of the ACA. if Democrats loose the Senate but still hold more than 40 votes, I am sure they will gladly give the GOP its own medicine by mounting a filibuster against any attempt to repeal the ACA. Since the ACA is an Act of Congress signed into law by the President only Congress can kill it by passing a new law repealing it. Somebody needs to educate Willard about the Separation of powers enshrined in the Constitution. An Act of Congress cannot be repealed by a presidential executive order, which is the only thing Romney can do on “day one.” So, this is all sound and fury signifying nothing! The GOP’s best hope for killing the ACA rests with the Supreme Court. We will soon find out if the Court is so beholden to the GOP ideology. In light of what the Court did in Bush v. Gore and Citizens United I would not be at all surprised if the Court rules to strike down the ACA.
GM, Symmetry! Like you, I’m having to wait patiently while the stream fades in and out, but since I have no choice, I’m sticking with both links CC shared. I’m telling myself it’s better than nothing at all.
That’s where we are soooo fortunate in TODville! It’s encouraging to know that when the equipment acts up, if we are patient, we can still get the info delivered right to our doors in great style. To me this means that I don’t get too bent out of shape when my laptop freezes or whatever and my b/pressure has no excuse to rise.
THANKS HEAPS, Ms Chips! You does better than good work….day after day! I don’t know how you manage to do it but I’s VERY appreciative!
Venture Capitalist NICK HANAUER is my new hero. His interview by Lawrence was excellent, and I hope his YouTube video goes viral. I truly believe the American people are open and ready to hear his message about the myth of the “job creators.” Some people can only be reached in certain ways, by certain folks. I hope PBO puts him on his team somehow.
I just don’t see how he thinks he can be elected because of hate. There are not that many people in this country who hate PBO, that they would hand over the nation to this fool.
Morning all.
People like Mitt Romney and the folks who tried to start the “Americans Elect” third party have been thoroughly deceived by the MSM into thinking that President Obama is universally hated – when the opposite was true all along.
Now the Romney camp is realizing that PBO is actually well-liked by a significant majority, they are scrambling to find discarded race-baiting relics of the 2008 election because they know that the people who are currently voting for Romney are only doing so because of PBO’s race.
We all know that the Republicans don’t like Mitt Romney, they don’t trust, it is all about trying to get rid of President Obama. These haters would support Charles Mansion if they thought he could defeat Obama.
White Mitt Romney is doing a campaign stunt to mock a bridge in New Hampshire, President Obama is showing the country and the world what being a leader and a statesman looks like. I am bursting with pride watching this speech.
So his own supporters voted for the bridge? Looks like this may be another instance where they didn’t do their homework. Maybe some enterprising reporter can ask a question about that the contradiction. But I guess this may be one of those days when questions from reporters are off limits.

ROMNEY PROPOSES A HORRIFYING FIRST DAY ON THE JOB
Romney’s plan for ‘Day One’

I couldn’t get a complete sentence from either of them. I will have to wait to see the video later.

Hey, vc, where you been?
Good Friday Morning Chips & TODville!
My President is speaking with purpose. It looks like it’ll be a beautiful day in the neighbourhood!
Huh, VC got up?? Moooooooooooorning VC!
Morning vc. Never mind her.
Morning, CC. I’ll have you know that I’ve already been out and am now back in!
Afternoon, Amk. Don’t worry, I don’t mind ‘her’!
She adds a little spice to my days and keeps me smiling, and you can’t get THAT everywhere.
I was suddenly thinking, surely it can’t be Saturday with the Fridays good video upthread!
Who is surprised by this ?
Not surprised, AND – “Not Obama” is really a proxy for “not Black.”
I just don’t see how he thinks he can be elected because of hate. There are not that many people in this country who hate PBO, that they would hand over the nation to this fool.

They have convinced themselves that their fantasy is true. They will be disappointed in Nov.
We all know that the Republicans don’t like Mitt Romney, they don’t trust, it is all about trying to get rid of President Obama. These haters would support Charles Mansion if they thought he could defeat Obama.
Good west coast morning Chipsticks & TOD family.
Friday’s Good
White Mitt Romney is doing a campaign stunt to mock a bridge in New Hampshire, President Obama is showing the country and the world what being a leader and a statesman looks like. I am bursting with pride watching this speech.
And the people of NH, even those who voted for him voted for that bridge. Willard is truly a doofus.
So his own supporters voted for the bridge? Looks like this may be another instance where they didn’t do their homework. Maybe some enterprising reporter can ask a question about that the contradiction. But I guess this may be one of those days when questions from reporters are off limits.
The real question is will the doofusses in NH will realize at least now what doofusses they have been in voting for mittbot ?
