Chica is just CRUISIN’ today with new posts every 5 minutes, it seems. Great videos, great new ads, I LOVE THIS PLACE.

Hello, my name is Isonprize, and I am thoroughly addicted to TOD. Yes, we are family, we fight like family, but we usually make up pretty easily (or at least, we’ll sit at the same dinner table) We throw great parties too!! There are the naughty among us, saints and sinners alike.

The one thing we ALL have in common is our positive attitude and willingness to work tirelessly to:

RE-ELECT President Barack H. Obama and Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.

Hi, Ison! It’s good to see you and congratulations on your timely arrival. I missed you when I looked in on the last TOD party!

Being somewhat self-centred I’m speculating that the five minute posts today were meant to throw ME off. See I had just figured out my strategy to arrive first, but it included a good waiting period in between each post. Now it’s back to the drawing board for me! This coming first effort is way too much work, something to which I’ve always been allergic.

Good Morning amk, good question on Romney. I bet there will never be a definitive answer to that very apt question.

Every single time I hear him speak I cringe.

Odds and ends about my day. First, Wonderful visit w/my mother. Best in a long time. Yes, she seems weaker each week and sleeps a lot after lunch (wears her out), but we had a delightful talk at lunch about her egg custard, how she made it, how delicious it was, etc. That was brought about because the dessert today was egg custard. Also, I was there for 3 hrs. and only heard 3 or 4 times about bathroom needs. That is usually NON-stop. Another good thing: There was a problem with her “Cadillac” model wheel chair so I called the company (local). The owner was there within 30 minutes and fixed it…..showed me how to fix it if it happens again. What a caring, kind, compassionate young man! All that stuff—–GOOD! Now for the not so good:

First, a normal 2 hr. 10 minute trip took over 3 hours–road construction and when I got into town, rush hour traffic in a downpour! Second, early this morning I shared on FB the line chart about the debt growing less under PO. This afternoon, I found in my email an email entitled: A picture is worth a 1000 words. It was this email:http://www.politifact.com/new-jersey/statements/2012/may/04/chain-email/obama-has-added-more-national-debt-previous-43-pre/ PLUS this line in big bright blue print at the bottom: You cannot get the water to clear up until you get the pigs out of the creek. At the top of the email, he said: “A little different view from your Facebook post??” I did not and will not respond to the email. I did post on FB as my status update: WOW…..speechless. It did not make me angry. It makes me so very sad. There is such hate and disrespect for this fine man.

Thanks for letting me share and get this off my chest. You all are THE BEST!!!!!

I thought I saw an info sheet on the different debt levels of all the prev. pre. I recognize you don’t want to respond but it appears that person needs actually facts, but they probably won’t bother to check. (yes I am assuming). It is sad, I am always dumbfounded at the level of LACK of understanding or thinking skills on display.

They’ve got their own version of reality. It’s almost pointless to present them with facts. They need to learn the hard way – and I just hope they won’t drag us through that lesson with them.

      • May 23, 2012 at 10:04 pm

AMEN to that, theo. I have learned that with some, it is pointless to present facts and this guy is one of those. I have him blocked on my Newsfeed but occasionally go this Wall. Far right-wing postings is almost an understatement. As you said, hope they don’t drag us through the muck with their stupidity.

Tnmtngirl, so happy to see that your trip and visit with your precious mother went great. Now get some rest, and try to create your space with the beautiful moments that you shared with your lovely mother. Where there is a space of darkness, shine your own created light of peace, and most of all speak your light into that peaceful space that you have created and let no one enter it with a sense of peacefulness. Rest peacefully tonight and listen to some lovely favorites in your music libraray and meditate on your goodness and love that you shared with mom today. Been a life-changing year-and-a-half for me–relocation, divorce, now a “single mom”, new job, back in school (on my 3rd career). I get a (very) short break here. I’ll get to visit my grandmother and extended family out in san diego next week (although it’s turning out to be a sad, hard time for the family–great-aunt dying from the cancer :-( But, I’m so grateful for all my blessings, and for family, and friends. And (although I don’t personally know you all), I feel a kinship with you on here as well. We share a common goal of getting this president (one of the greatest, in my opinion) re-elected! I didn’t become fully, actively involved in politics until President Obama in 2008. Although, I previously lived in the Chicago area before moving back to Omaha, so I did vote in 2004 for the first time–for both John Kerry and then-senator Obama. Now, I don’t miss an election, not even the “small” local ones. And, I try to volunteer and donate as much as my time and money will allow :-) P.S.–Also, I’m so glad that blackwaterdog is back with TOAITR ;-)

Was watching Ed in defense of the president against the crazies. Yet the saddest sentence I heard was “the president is an American.” It came to this. Someone on tv has to affirm that the president of the United States of American is an American.

    • May 23, 2012 at 9:03 pm

I thought the same thing. :( :( Kinda goes along with what I said about the email I got. The hate and disrespect for our President…..well, I just have no words other than what has been said by so many on this blog.

      May 23, 2012 at 9:07 pm

I Know how you feel. But please remember the President has enormous support across this country. The national polls seem close, but that ALSO MEANS there are potentially 65, 70+ million voters that are suporting the President right now. His personal popularity is much higher, so a fair amount of the electoral opposition in the polling is not against him OR EVEN his policies or vision for America. Many of that 40-sumthin percent of people that say right now they probably won’t vote for him are people having a hard time that are scared and confused and typically not well informed. The DARK SIDE that is really against Barack is a SMALL, IGNORANT or INTRANSGENT (also pathetic haters) segment of our great country. Call me naive if you want, but I really believe it.

      May 23, 2012 at 9:38 pm

I’m watching the Maddow show and came to comment about it. I’m puzzled ( who are republicans?) My head and heart hurts. She covered Nixon and his comment that “when a president does it it’s not illegal. She segued into Reagan and Iran Contra, the hand slap by congress ( forgot the offical term), the lone descent was Cheny! Cheny apparently also told some senator to “go F@#! yourself” in response to a challenge about something regarding Haliburton.

Cheny is doing fund raiser for Mitt this summer- I’d read that here. The kicker was Romney ( 9/14/2011?) saying at a rally how he’d seen Cheny on TV giving an interview. He gushed about how knowledgeable he was about a whole host of issues. He praised Cheny for his “wisdom and judgement”! WTH!!!! And…the folks applauded, there was even a smile from a woman behind him! Republicans make my head HURT.

Romney and pubs are running from Bush, Romney has not even acknowleged appreciation for Dubya’s oh so casual endorsement from the elevator. I do not understand it. I know Cheny is hanging on to this life so he can get some more of his crap done, and he has the connections to do it! But to actually applaud the so called wisdom and judgement of the main liar to get us into Iraq! I’m am DONE with seeing Cheny unless it’s at the Hague. He has more to answer for than Bush in my eyes. Bush was the idiot self important schmuck who was duped at times by this maciavellian(sp) neo con Cheny and friends.

Please someone tell me even republicans are smarter than this?

        May 23, 2012 at 10:00 pm

Sorry .. you have pretty much figured it out. I don’t think they are smarter than this. This is what is in the Republican Party right now. It scares me to death; I thought I had seen everything during/after the Nixon years .. but it is so much worse now and so scary. As our President said
We won’t go back. We can’t go back. It would be the end of this country (and me).

When I think of Cheny now I cannot help but remember the 2009 Inauguration. When Cheny came out in his wheelchair there was the loudest BOO I had ever heard in my life! There were a lot of people there that day and I swear every single one booed. I was in the Blue section and we were crammed in bodies touching. I was in amazement when I returned home and watched the Inauguration on my tv that I had tivoed. The audio on the moment was changed so if you were watching on tv you never even heard the Boo.

    • 89 theo67
      May 23, 2012 at 10:11 pm

I watched her section on Romney and Cheney. It has sent a chill through my heart. Romney clearly idolizes Cheney. Romney’s god is money – it’s all he seems to live for. And his goal is to collect as much money as possible, no matter the cost or consequences. And who is a better role model for the callous, cold blooded, money-mongering, coreless person than Dick Cheney? If we thought Cheney was bad, then Romney will be worse. I wonder if he’s thinking of bringing on Cheney’s daughter as his VP – to keep the Cheney vibe close. It’s no wonder that the daughter turned out the way she did.

If this country doesn’t wake up to the danger that Romney represents, then heaven help us.

OK I’ve read the tweet about 10 times and I don’t get it. Please to explain. He’s asking if this is May or October, cause October is usually the month that all the political looney-tunes happen. Yet, he we are in May and PBO is getting fall-out and is being accused of getting personal about Bain. Here’s a point of view that perhaps someone else have about but I have simply not come across. When Vice President Biden made his remarks about supporting marriage between gays and lesbians — it was a mission that he had been deliberately assigned and dispatched to broadcast via the media. It was neither a slip nor was it off-the-cuff statement! For, if we follow President Obama’s actions towards gays and
lesbians this decision is a very LOGICAL conclusion.

      Hey Lightfoot!!

A few TODers said that when the issue first came up, especially as people were trying to “blame” VPB for “undercutting” PBO. I also think it was planned. There isn’t much that isn’t planned from the Obama campaign.

      • 123 Lightfoot
        May 24, 2012 at 9:16 am

        Hi Isonprize,

Thanks so much for your response. Especially because I have been busy for a while, and have only been catching up in recent weeks on and off. So, in the interim I’ve caught some things on time, gathered bits and pieces here and there, and missed other things completely.

It is true that when you look at the recording of the VP versus his (other) “gaffs” there is a monumental difference in this single video. Here, Biden is THOUGHTFUL, CALM, deliberate, articulate as usual, CLEAR, and resolute. Not only that, he later offers no gun-to-the-head-you tube-retraction after this alleged “gaff” that could possibly be costly President Obama blah, blah, blah, but instead, is immediately almost hurriedly rushed to seal his BLESSING, APPROVAL, and absolute support via broadcast before the entire planet!

All of this occurs despite this being an election season. But done at a precise time period away from the actual election to allow the national psyche to get acclimated to a new way seeing the world.

        Erm, that’s no accident!

I’ve got 3 Obama/Biden/2012 bumper stickers plastered on the back of my car (and proudly)! And, I live in Omaha, NE! (lol) But, I’ve seen several Obama bumper stickers around these parts. No Romney ones yet. Saw one or two old McCain/Palin ones (lol). There used to be a Romney yard sign at one of the houses up the street, but they must’ve taken it down–haven’t seen it in a while. Meanwhile, the house a couple doors down had two Obama signs in the window :-) Omaha’s a 50/50 town–elects some republicans, some democrats. Obama was the first democrat to win the electoral vote from here in 2008 since Lyndon Johnson (Nebraska is one of the two states that split their electoral votes). However, the repubs redistricted here after the 2010 elections, so to make it very much harder for that to happen again. We’ll still try though–not giving up hope ;-)

GB, these are excellent tweets from Josh Marshall and David Axelrod! By the way, something else has been bugging me about Willard Romney and his “calling card” about his business experience that qualifies him to be president. Today, I listened to him once again doing the “Sarah Palin”: mocking the President for having worked as a community organizer. Just as an aside, I suppose Sarah Palin thinks that being a half-term governor, going on the road to peddle ghost written books, and serving as a pundit on Fox news, are all more important jobs than organizing laid off workers to find jobs, or organizing people to vote. Of course all these idiots would rather ignore other things the President has been doing ( such as being President for 31/2 years) because they don’t make good sound bites.

Any way, what really bugs me is: what exactly has Willard Romney been doing since he left the governorship in MA? Romney served as governor from 2002 to 2006. We know he doesn’t want to talk about his one term as MA governor. So, other than running for President, what has Willard been doing for almost 6 years since he left the MA governorship? Does spending six years running for president qualify as a business experience? Does Willard mean to tell us that with all his impressive business experience, that he touts every chance he gets, he could’t find a job other than running for president?

President Obama has spent 31/2 years trying to clean the awful mess, both domestic and international, that he inherited from George W. Bush. Any objective person, not driven by ideology or bad faith like our media, would concede that President Obama has done an incredible job. Yet, all we here from Willard Romney and his enablers is constant criticism of the President. Criticism from a man who has spent 6 years running for president simply because he is able to live off all the millions of dollars he made at the expense of workers at many companies he owned.

I repeat, what has Willard “Mitt” Romney been doing to help the country for the past six years, other than run for president? Forget the 4 years he served as governor of MA. How come Willard “Mitt” Romney has not used his business experience, in the past six years, to help create jobs?

These are sad days for the country because our so called “4th Estate” has completely abrogated its responsibilities. No one in the media dares to ask Mitt Romney what he has exactly been doing in the past 6 years (or for that matter the past 31/2 years of the Obama presidency) to help his fellow Americans? Surely, spending 6 years running for president is not evidence of the ability to create jobs.

Thank you Theo67. I honestly think that Romney’s past six years deserve heightened scrutiny. And if the unethical media won’t do it then all of you brilliant people, who know how to tweet/ facebook, must do your best to do the scrutinizing. I intend to write letters to the editors of my local paper to ask these questions. That is if they will print them. I happen to be in the somewhat red area of blue California. To be honest with you, Theoe, I am just sick and tired of listening to Romney relentlessly attacking the President who has been out there trying to fix the horrible mess he inherited, while he (Romney) has done absolutely nothing for the past six years, except to enjoy his loot from Bain and to perpetually run for President. I can’t remember any other presidential candidate, in my lifetime, who did nothing else but spend six years running for President.

      • May 24, 2012 at 6:34 am

Guess it takes a while to hide all his money :) . They are still on the community organizer strategy. Yep, that worked so well in 2008. They GOT NOTHING! They are so pathetic.

Amk, I just read about your son’s success and I wanted to offer my congratulations. I like your tweets. I really need to know who Martin Bashir is because I don’t watch television much. This quote from him is pitch perfect.

Being from the old school I wrote a long comment earlier, probably “severely” repeating my self that could have been easily summarized. I know most people have been focused on Mitt’s Bain years, or his not to be mentioned one term as MA governor. My burning question is: What exactly has Mitt Romney been doing in the past six years to use his business experience to create jobs? He had six years to show us how a seasoned businessman creates jobs; yet he spent all those six years running for president. If you think this is a legitimate query, I wish you, and others skilled in tweeting like Bobfr, Chips, hopefriut, Tally, and others would pose it. As I said earlier, PBO has spent three and half years trying to clean up the mess he inherited, while the job creating businessman has spent six years running for president without creating jobs (other than those for his handlers, retainers, pollsters, etc.) for the average middle class people.

JAY CARNEY TO THE JACKALS (paraphrasing)

DO YOUR JOB, DON’T BE LAZY SLOTHS, DON’T BUY INTO THE GOP BS, REPORT THE FACTS

Press Gaggle by Press Secretary Jay Carney en route Colorado Springs, CO, 5/23/12

      ———————————-

Q You’re emulating Herbert Hoover now as a standard —

MR. CARNEY: Not at all. I think it is simply a fact that despite the enormous challenges that this country faced when the President took office and the absolute essential need for taking dramatic action and significant action in passing a stimulus bill, as well as the other actions the President took, this President has been — has demonstrated significant fiscal restraint and acted with great fiscal responsibility. That is also why he has put forward a balanced plan to further reduce our deficit and debt by over $4 trillion.

That approach, that balanced approach is available — is supported by a broad majority of the American people, majorities of Democrats, independents and Republicans outside of the nation’s capital. If only Republicans in Congress would agree to take that balanced approach, there is an opportunity for significant further deficit reduction.

I simply make the point, as an editor might say, to check it out; do not buy into the BS that you hear about spending and fiscal constraint with regard to this administration. I think doing so is a sign of sloth and laziness.

      Next question.

      Q Yes, let’s move on.

Q — you need more stimulus, not Herbert Hoover policies. What do you think?

MR. CARNEY: I just think — you know, it’s an interesting point. I think it is often noted, but not enough, that — I remember the chart, seeing it, that the — in the postwar era, the only two Presidents under which the size of the federal government shrank — not Reagan, not Nixon, not Bush or Bush; Clinton and Carter. How could that be? Well, it’s a fact. So next time —

Q — you need more stimulus.

MR. CARNEY: Next time you are lectured by a Republican member of Congress who voted for all of the budget-busting measures under the previous administration, remind them of that record on my behalf.

Let’s be honest. On the whole, the U.S. media has completely mopped into the GOP’s propaganda machine. The mainstream media is just as invested as the GOP to ensure that President Obama is not re-elected. Thankfully, the mainstream U.S. media are no longer the main source of news for a large segment of the American people.

funny thing about that republican robot talk about PBO not knowing how read a balance sheet or “run a business…”

the 2008 campaign was a rapidly built “company,” with massive amounts of “revenue” brought in very fast, and turned around just as fast into strategic and massive expenditures. There was no discernable waste or scandal as they complied with all regulations, and the 2008 obama campaign expenses provided an incredible “return on investment” with a landslide win against all odds, and even had a huge amount of money leftover.

any republican robot, please point to any example of mittbot (or any business for that matter), that was so successful so quickly as the 2008 obama campaign. oh yea, and the guy in charge of this incredibly responsible, and “profitable” organization was barack obama. it must be hard for a republican…they know deep down that obama can kick the butts no matter what he decides to do! democrats 2012!!!

Outside of here, PBS, local public radio (which includes some NPR and BBC reporting), and my local newspaper, I don’t trust any of it. The stuff I do gather, I take that under much scrutiny and sometimes “with a grain of salt” as well, but I figure it’s at least better reporting and generally more trustworthy than the rest of the mass-media out there, which is completely sold-out. This is also at least some portion of the reason that the vast majority of the American public is so uninformed/misinformed. It’s really sad, and also dangerous.

http://crooksandliars.com/mike-lux/bain-our-existence Nice read. I found this particularly perfect:

What Obama and other Democrats are arguing is that our government should be on the side of the businesses that create not just wealth for a few at the top, but jobs and incomes for a lot of people. That is why Obama made the incredibly gutsy move to save the American auto industry, a policy that saved 1.45 million jobs in the short run, and kept desperately needed manufacturing jobs in this country for years to come. It is why Obama has made big investments in the budget for Small Business Administration jobs. It is why investments have been made in clean energy jobs of the future. It is why the U.S. Department of Agriculture has emphasized rural economic development and small business development in areas where jobs and incomes are desperately needed.

******* Democratic policies are in fact far more pro-business than policies like the Romney-Ryan budget, which independent studies estimate would cost the nation more than 4 million jobs in the next two years. That’s a lot of business customers who no longer have money to spend.*******

He was “very comfortable” because, apparently, it wasn’t a real interview. And, I’m not surprised–it being Mark Halperin and all. I haven’t put any stock in him in at least a couple years, and especially after he called the president a d*ck. I didn’t watch the interview, and won’t. I am doing the same with NEWSWEEK because of its deceptive headline calling President Obama “A Gay President.” Obviously I have no problem with electing a gay president, What I have a problem with is trying to inflame public passions. The President is a strong supporter go gay rights as are many of us who heterosexual. No one called LBJ “a Black President” just because he supported the right to vote for African Americans. The American media, in my humble opinion, are destroying this country by adopting the sensational tactics of tabloid reporting.

So WoS,is it not fair to conclude that the American media are guilty of engaging in “sloth,” one the seven deadly sins according to Christian (or is it Catholic) theology? For me as a non religious person, I think the U.S. media is guilty of failing to uphold the number one standard of real journalism: Reporting the Truth to the American people. The failure of the U.S. media to inform the public about the truthfulness or falsehood of statements/claims made by politicians makes it possible for politicians to win elections to public office on the basis of lies.

    The Gary effect, continued
By MAGGIE HABERMAN | 5/23/12 11:35 PM EDT
We noted recently that the latest PPP poll of New Hampshire showed libertarian candidate Gary Johnson taking 7 percent of the vote, and the new numbers from the Democratic polling firm out of Arizona show something similar.

In Arizona, Johnson gets 9 percent of the vote, compared with 45 percent for Mitt Romney and 41 percent for President Obama. Another 6 percent are undecided. In a straight head-to-head, the state is less in play than Democrats had hoped, with Romney getting 50 percent to Obama’s 43 percent.

    But, PPP pollsters note:

One thing that could make the race more competitive in Arizona, perhaps more so than other states, is Gary Johnson’s presence on the ballot as the Libertarian candidate.  He pulls 9% in Arizona and he takes a lot more support away from Romney than he does Obama, narrowing Romney’s lead in the state to 45-41. History suggests it’s quite unlikely Johnson would really pull 9% in the end but it shows how many voters are unhappy with their main choices in this race.

Our President saluted and shook hands and spoke to each and every graduate!!! It went on for 2 hours. The man is amazing. I think he probably had to put is arm on ice! First Lady Michelle Obama will be on ABC Television Network on May 29, 2012, the day after Memorial Day, according to a May 23, 2012, announcement from ABC Television Network.  Mrs. Obama will talk  to “Good Morning America” and then to “The View” hosts to discuss her new book about healthy eating,  “American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America.”

Mrs. Obama has made the importance of healthy eating and exercise a primary message to Americans in her “Lets Move” campaign. The interviews on “GMA” and “The View” will be her first television interviews about her new book.

The First Lady will discuss how having access to healthy, affordable food can promote better eating habits. Mrs. Obama will also discuss the history of the White House garden, some of the recipes in the book, and tips for starting your own garden no matter where you live.

On “Good Morning America,” students from New York City’s Public Schools 102 and 107, who have successfully grown their own container gardens, will show viewers how easy it is to get started.

The First Lady’s appearance on “The View” will be part of the shows continuing “Red White & View” campaign. Mrs. Obama then sits down with “The View” hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd.  Mrs. Obama previously appeared on “The View” in April 2011 and June 2008, when she made her daytime television debut as a special guest co-host.

I know it is late but I was looking at some of the photos from today’s events, and I found this description under the photos interesting. This description sounds like something a republican would write. Ruthless??

“US President Barack Obama disembarks from Air Force One at the Moffett Federal Airfield in Mountain View, California, on May 23, 2012 to attend campaign events. Obama may have made his name peddling hope and change, but his aspirational politics concealed a ruthless streak now being turned on the man who wants his job: Mitt Romney. President Obama and his hard-eyed political consultants have unleashed a long-planned attack on the Republican’s corporate past, seeking to turn November’s election on Romney’s character rather than his own economic record.”

    • 272 theo67
      May 24, 2012 at 2:34 am

This is definitely written by a right winger. Anyone else with eyes open to see knows that President Obama is itching to run on his record – economic, foreign policy, education, military, health, regulations, etc. He has no qualms about his real record, and it’s only a fool who still believes that he’s running from his record, especially when his opponent has a record that should disqualify him from running for dog catcher – let alone for POTUS. I marvel at the right wing’s ability to create a whole separate version of reality!

I used to read the captions on the “Daylife” site – and then I noticed that the site is run by raving right wingers. So, now I just enjoy the pictures, and ignore their comments. The only time to read comments is if you suffer from low blood pressure, and need a jolt.

COS, I would like for who ever wrote that to tell us what do they expect President Obama to do, sit back and let Mitt Romney and his camp continue to LIE about him? Romney has been attacking the President even when he was running against Newt, the two Ricks, Paul, Cain, Bachmann, and the President said once the GOP clowns pick their clown then he would have something to say, well Mitt Romney is their GOPlying clown, so don’t expect President Obama to sit back and let them attack him and his record without hitting back. If anyone is running from their record it is Mitt Romney. You wouldn’t think he was ever Governor of Mass. And he is afraid to discuss Bain. I would love to ask these people, do Romney have a character.

ATHERTON, Calif. – President Barack Obama told an intimate crowd gathered at the family estate of the heir to the Levi Strauss & Co. fortune that he has started to steer the ship in the right direction.

“We’ve set a path and a target,” he said, “and a direction where this is again a country where everybody gets a fair shot, everybody does their fair share, everybody plays by the same set of rules.”

The president ticked off accomplishments of his first term – from toughening fuel efficiency standards to health care reform. But he also noted a few things he wants to do in the future, including rebuilding the country’s infrastructure and tackling climate change “in a serious way.” His agenda, he suggested is far from complete.

“We may not even finish it in five years,” Obama told roughly 70 supporters at the $35,800 per head dinner. “But I certainly need five more years to get us locked in on where we need to go.”

The hosts, philanthropists Doug and Lisa Goldman, held the event at a leafy, family compound called “Green Shutters” and guests included actor Don Cheadle, vice chair emeritus of AOL Jan Brandt, and Google executives Susan Wojcicki and Dennis Troper.

Obama told the crowd that he is more determined than he was in 2008, and he hoped he could count on their continued support. “I intend to win this thing and I intend to keep on changing this country,” he said.

Barrett didn’t get into the contest until quite late when many unions were already committed. But unions are fully supporting Barrett. The organizing is spectacular.

It’s not the unions that is the problem. It is the MONEY. And the lack of national Dems supporting Barrett. We have a parade of national established and well-known Republicans traveling all over the state with Walker. Where are the Dems from out-of-state supporting Barrett? MIA – AWOL!!

New battleground polling out this morning from NBC News and Marist College:

President Barack Obama holds a narrow advantage over presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney in three of the most pivotal presidential battleground states — Florida, Ohio and Virginia — according to new NBC-Marist polls.

But in each of these states, Obama’s share of the vote is below the 50 percent threshold usually considered safe haven for an incumbent president, and Romney has narrowed the margin in these three battlegrounds since earlier this year.

In Florida and Virginia, Obama leads Romney by an identical four-point margin, 48 percent to 44 percent … In Ohio, the president is ahead by six points, 48 percent to 42 percent.

An Obama-Biden ticket vs. one featuring Romney and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio produces the same head-to-head result in Florida — 48 percent to 44 percent. But Romney adding former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush narrows it to a two-point Democratic lead, 47 percent to 45 percent.

In Ohio, an Obama-Biden ticket beats one featuring Romney and Sen. Rob Portman, 47 percent to 42 percent.

And in Virginia, the Democratic duo bests a GOP ticket with Gov. Bob McDonnell, 46 percent to 44 percent.

I know that there is a lot of handwringing going on with respect to the prospects of the vote in WI. What I know is that in the end it will all depend on the GOTV and the amount of work each side will do in the next few days.

Races are won and lost in the final hours of the election and yet we still have a few more days to go which we could use to push turnout of dems.

Many of us will not want to deal with a national headline of a walker win. So waht are you doing about it?

I believe that it is very important for WI that Scott Walker is defeated. Could we consider helping out in any way we can by supporting Barrett? Some way for us who are out of WI state to help out is

    (a) post the information on our networks so that we can alert those people who may not be paying attention

    (b) set up a tool for out-of-state people to contact their friends and relatives in WI to remember to gou out and vote.
