Way to Go PFWHI
Thank you Proud!
Three in a row
THREE!! Humpfff! Congratulations, I guess, PF.
/hands on chin; eyes contemplative -’Maybe if I save my lunch money I can buy that i-whatever with speed dial sooner.’ Hmmmn/
Chips this is my third time today, may I have an extra special prize. Please!
Holy smoke, three in a row?!?!?! Well, that deserves a video!
There should be a price for people who are here everyday but are never FIRST….Race to the bottom?…I would win hands down.
lol, poor Christi.. hang in their kid
No dear, that would be a true competition between us! I have only recently overcome the habit of happily talking to myself at the end of a thread before realizing that everybody else had moved on. An end of thread prize for the person who was commenting just as Chips posted the signal for the new thread would be neat though. It could be a Biden or Carney or even a Bo picture.
BTW, Chips, I’m still awaiting the pics for yesterday’s winners. I still think a collage of 6 pics is the easiest way of getting us off your back.
Rise ‘n Shine Ms VC
The Gershwin Prize – Proudmemberofglobalzero
Loris and Ampad – Roberta in MN
Heads up: VP Biden -Theo67
Backstage at Joplin – Drunken Irishman
Grannies rock – Mr. LL
If you don’t ante up soon I’m going to send my new kitty over…..
Oops, PF, didn’t mean to put this so close to your award. Sorry.
WE.ARE.NOT.GOING.BACK! NO WAY!
Love ya Chips!
Finally got to see PBO speak in real time streaming on USStream. Loved the experience. “WE’RE NOT GOING BACK!”
I mean I!
Good for you , lmrj! It’s a really good feeling to hear him ‘live’ isn’t it? To hear him at all is good, but there’s just an added something when I catch his speeches in real time.
Welcome in from the proverbial cold.
Well, thank you! Lurking is the only way to keep up while I’m at work! Too hooked on TOD not to at least look.
Tampa bay Times- can we trust Quinipanic polls?
Tampa Bay Times ask can we trust the Quinpanic polls? No! No! No! I don’t trust it.
Thanks a million Jovie, VERY interesting – eg:
“In terms of what the electorate will look like on election day in 2012, by my estimate is it will be roughly 42% Democratic, 40% Republican and 18% minor/NPA — and using 2008 as a bit of a guide, roughly 70% white, 13% African American (or Caribbean American) and 12-13% Hispanic.
“The Q poll, which gave Mitt Romney a 6 point lead, weighed out at 37% Republican, 29% Democratic and 29% Independent. It also landed at over 80% white, 8% Hispanic and 7% African America and Caribbean American. There is no scenario where the Florida votes will look like this on Election Day 2012.”
Not sure if you guys have seen this story in the Times…. Well worth a read
In the photo, Mr. Obama looks to be bowing to a sharply dressed 5-year-old black boy, who stands erect beside the Oval Office desk, his arm raised to touch the president’s hair — to see if it feels like his. The image has struck so many White House aides and visitors that, by popular demand, it stays put while others come and go.
As a candidate and as president, Mr. Obama has avoided discussing race except in rare instances when he seemed to have little choice — responding to the racially incendiary words of his former pastor, for example, or to the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager in Florida. Some black leaders criticize Mr. Obama for not directly addressing young blacks or proposing policies specifically for them.
Yet the photo is tangible evidence of what polls also show: Mr. Obama remains a potent symbol for blacks, with a deep reservoir of support. As skittish as White House aides often are in discussing race, they also clearly revel in the power of their boss’s example.
New post everyone:
From the “not so wayback machine” http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/mitt-romney-education-policy-9091219
Tweety’s disdain for Mitt Romney on full display in his first segment. He interviews Rattner and Halperin (Mark is useless).
Tweety said Mitt Romney is the hermetically sealed candidate. We can’t talk about his Mormonism, his time as governor of Massachusetts, don’t even mention Romneycare, we can’t talk about his time at Bain unless it’s in a positive light. Well, what can we talk about. Apparently, we are just supposed to accept that because he was a businessman that’s all we need to know. And please don’t ask for any specifics on how he will govern. Details can be discussed AFTER the election, if ever.
Helloo beautiful people of TODville! Long time no see. Been away traveling and work…long story. Also been lurking whenever possible, but I’ve missed so much. It’s nice to be back home for a while, and TOD is part of that home.
Anyhow, first thing I wanted to share today is an old WH picture we are all VERY familiar with, but it finally got a larger audience thanks to an article on the NYTimes. What really struck me though was the comments section: ALL beautiful, touching and admiring comments, not even one negative comment. I just couldn’t believe it. It teared me up. PBO is so right when he says he has so much faith in this country and the American people. Truly, there are more beautiful people out there than the pundits would have us believe. FORWARD, my friends, FORWARD!!
