Yo @MittRomney your glee at the damage intentionally being done by your Party of Koch & Norquist pals is consistent with your scissor attack— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) June 01, 2012
Once an entitled, unaccountable bully always ….
Please send this to the editors at Gawker. They think this ish is a game.
Yep! This alone should be enough to get folks to vote!
Thank you sosososososososo much for posting this, Chips. All the marbles.
Just caught up with the last thread. The day people greet Romney the way they greet President Obama will be the day I start to worry.
I step out for lunch and this new thread is launched….. CHIPS!!!!!!
Word is that @NBCnews is giving favorable coverage to GOP & Romney becuz superpacs threatened not 2 spend ad $$$ with them if they didn't.— Jonathan Jewel (@JonathanJewel) June 01, 2012
I am not surprised at all…..They keep that vile Trump and his show on.
I don’t doubt this.
Citizens United is truly toxic. Imagine what would’ve happened if the record corporate profits of the last few years had been reinvested in jobs, equipment, and infrastructure. Instead, that boatload of money is being siphoned off into superpacs, providing a powerful incentive for the media companies to keep the race as close as possible for as long as possible, to wring every last penny out of both sides. Even our small individual contributions (an attempt to keep pace) represent dollars we can’t spend on restaurants, or new appliances, or home improvement, etc.
And who brought us Citizens United? I refer you to the graphic up top…
That doesn’t surprise me one iota. They know what side their bread is buttered on. People need to stop watching these opinion shows. Gone are the days of Cronkite news. Don’t watch and they won’t get ratings. Period. I quit watching months ago and stick to internet for news so I can decide for myself what’s real and what’s not. Everybody needs to do the same.
Not surprised at all. Money Talks, BS spews forth.
I am just wondering.
Will the wife of George Zimmerman be charged for lying under oath ?
I don’t know about that, but he sure as heck won’t be called as a character witness. No one will believe a word she said, even if she put her tongue on the bible.
It's about the SUPREME COURT, stupid! Any Questions? wp.me/pUgO9-kjY via @TheObamaDiary #DemLandslide2012 to stop the endless #GOPFAIL— Tally Briggs (@bardgal) June 01, 2012

MITT’S MENDACITY (LYING, DISTORTING AND MAKING STUFF UP) – -“VOLUME NUMBER 20″
By Steve Benen
On last night’s show, Rachel talked at some length about a subject I follow with great interest: Mitt Romney’s habit of saying things that aren’t true. Summarizing some of yesterday’s big political headlines, Rachel explained, “Just like Mitt Romney lied in his very first ad, in a really blunt, schoolyard kind of way. They’re now lying in the new ad that is about Solyndra and Mitt Romney is lying about it personally out of his face at his big campaign stunt today.
Rachel concluded, “Even in this nuts day in American politics, don’t you think that candidate telling a big, blatant lie in the middle of the news cycle deserves a little follow up?”
That was a rhetorical question, of course, but the answer is obviously yes, big, blatant lies from a major party presidential nominee do deserve some little follow up. It’s one of the reasons I’m glad to present the 20th installment of my weekly series, chronicling Mitt’s mendacity.

RT @ZekeJMiller: Obama approval rating is 52% in new CNN/ORC poll— Andrew Kaczynski (@BuzzFeedAndrew) June 01, 2012
Obama leads 49-46, which is in the MOE, so he’s lost ground since their last poll, which had him up 52-43.
Why is buzzfeed putting out false numbers ?
Approval not match up I assume.

Okay, I must express my extreme frustration. If we al know that republican obstruction is causing the economy to stall, is there not more that we can do to call them on it?
We can’t just sit around and complain here about what we all know to be true. We must figure out a way to wake people up, an effective way.
We cannot, must not let these people get away with what they are doing. Surely there is a creative thinker among us who can figure out how to get people’s attention.
I just refuse to believe that with all the fine work that PBO has done that America is just going to let him be defeated.
We are looking at some dangerous, selfish and incredibly cynical people who could possibly be in charge in less than a year.
They don’t care about the poor, about minorities, about women, veterans, the disabled, students. They care about profits and power, above all else.
We have got to figure out a way to not just talk to each other, but to the nation.
We know what’s going on, but believe me, Far too many do not. Many people I know, college-aged and above don’t even know about voter suppression, not to mention republican obstruction. I know this for a fact. It is so dis-heartening.
We cannot let this happen. We have got to figure out a way to keep this country from falling into the hands of this republican party.
PBO Has talked until I ‘m blue in the face. Nothing he has done is enough, no accomplishment worthwhile, no act of courage considered notable.
I am beginning to hate, and that is not good. What I am seeing is what I expected when I first realized that President Obama might be elected; that he’d be maligned and de-legitimized, and ridiculed, insulted and nothing he would ever do would be enough. That is what I feared. When he was elected, I breathed a sigh of relief: Americans had proved me wrong! But I was not wrong, not at all – it’s even worse than I imagined, and that is an awful commentary on our country.
We must find a way to overcome.
Eve, I understand your frustration, and yes racism has shown itself to be alive and well and is daily inflamed and abetted by the GOP. But we have a lot more power than you may think. First of all, we are not just talking to ourselves, we are part of a vast army of the president’s people who man phone banks every day, knock on doors, speak at meetings, and deliver facts to friends, neighbors and relatives. The numbers of people our team will reach by November is a staggering high number of tens of millions. And we will be reaching them as human beings, not the impersonal media. Second, while many are racist, not everyone is stupid. They do see what Republicans are doing and, most of all, they “get” that GOP members of Congress are not on their side. So far they’ve seen Republicans stand up and threaten Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the rights of women, and the dignity of all minorities. The see their Republican governors systematically destroying their states–cutting everything in sight, firing people, denying their voting rights. Third, the GOP has a terrible candidate. His skills in retail politics are the worst I’ve ever seen. As he becomes better known, he will become less liked because all the makeup artists in the world can not dress up that particular horse’s’ ass named Romney. Fourth, and most important, we have the most articulate, compassionate, charismatic and likeable president in modern times. And trust me, a lot of people do vote with their heart. And finally, it’s May and we’re letting the R’s discourage us over a monthly jobs report. Their greatest desire is for all of us to give in and we’re not going to fall into that trap. Armed with the truth, let’s get out there and register voters, make phone calls, knock on doors and turn friends and neighbors into committed volunteers. Oh, and start calling Congress to get them to pass the American Jobs Act they’ve been sitting on since last fall.

Unemployment Rate Without Government Cuts: 7.1%
Understand this. If it weren’t for the Republicans cutting the jobs of firefighters, teachers, policeman, and state workers……THIS would be the unemployment rate. Right now. THIS FROM THE WALL ST JOURNAL
Tweeters…..can you Tweet this WSJ 7.1% figure ?
Saw this referred to over at Balloon Juice – I think it’s important to note the destruction the 2010 election reaped – especially the part about state cuts being highest in 2011 since they started counting in 1955.
A couple of things on C-Span tonight that may be of interest to you. First, President Obama’s 7:10 ET Chicago event will be carried on C-Span main channel.
Then at 8 ET, they will air last night’s Walker/Barrett Wisconsin governor’s debate. For all bemoaning how terrible our journalists are, we have a genuine, very able one in Mike Gousha. His followups on Walker are very good (even though Walker tries his best to be evasive and Barrett doesn’t let him off the hook on anything). This is how debates should be conducted. Gousha was with WMTJ (TV) in Milwaukee for 25 years and left in 2007 because he could no longer tolerate the deterioration of the way the news was being presented.
So again, even if President Obama were to underperform his 2008 white vote share, if indeed minorities make up two percent more of the voting population, he has something like three percentage points to give. For Republicans, that means the ballgame is to do one of two things: increase their own share of the minority vote, which so far, Romney is not doing, or drive up Romney’s share of the white vote to a level we haven’t seen in American politics in more than 30 years.
New post everyone:
No! The Republicans ate lucky, so to speak, that Europe has slipped inti a Depression.
That is why our Economy has stalled.
