Morning everyone

First, I KNOW IT.
Morning Cman, morning everyone
Aww, why thanks Chips. I’m as happy as that babe
Chipsticks, I’ve been very busy with school’s year end, so haven’t been able to read much. Heard about the jobs report and couldn’t bring myself to even watch any news, or even come here, as I didn’t want to read any freak out language. Thanks so much for what you wrote last night. It meant so much to see how you protect us all so we are free to come to a place where there is love and support for our president, and freaking out is, or can’t be, a good thing. As for the shrub business, good.for.you. It still makes me angry what they got away with. Bush and Cheney are war criminals, in my mind, and should be tried in the Hague. So I just wanted to say thank you, and love you for all that you do. You have made a great difference in my life personally. I am a much better PBO supporter and am much more informed than I would have been otherwise. Thanks again.
I see it says that POTUS will be going to Camp David after he gets back from Chicago, you think FLOTUS, Malia, and Sasha are already at Camp David.
Hi
ooh so close. hehe
Great way to start the day!
Good morning everyone. Congrats Cman on being first.
S’ank u. this thing is pure luck.
“S’ank u” Hahahaa……reminds me of someone in my life who always said that to bring a smile to my face.
EVERY state should have this!! http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/06/01/493486/california-election-day-registration/
Yes the should. But I can’t imagine how many generations would have to go by or how many people would have to have brain transplants before legislation this enlightened would be passed in PA.
Or AZ……the fear just paralyses them….
this is great news for California DF – here in MN we still have same day voter reg. but we also have the horrible voter ID to contend with. Hope MN does the right thing and vote this out!
I am so proud of my state! This is the way to encourage Democratic participation. Right wingers who are always shouting about Liberty and Freedom can’t way to deny them to others after they gain power.
A very Good Saturday Morning/Afternoon Chips & TODville! If I didn’t talk so much I wouldn’t keep missing the door! Sigh.
Congrats, Cman!
Then I go to enter and WP had kicked me out! SIgh!
Florida….this guy needs to GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2012/06/01/494058/stearns-abortion-criminal/
Stearns is the man that started the Planned Parenthood investigation in Congress.
DF, can’t you just see this guy in Pilgrim’s clothes, standing next to Cotton Mather, saying to women, “Strap them in irons, hang them from the nearest tree–they have violated MY precepts.” He’s a holdover from a long ago era–bet he still thinks women should be chattel. How dare they have any say in what happens to their own bodies. Who elects these dinosaurs? They belong in a museum.
Personally, I think that these MEN in Congress should not have ONE DAMN THING TO SAY ABOUT A WOMAN’S PRIVATE CHOICES! If this stuff keeps them up at night, then they need to own 50% of the RESPONSIBILITY for a woman that becomes pregnant, because last time I checked, we can’t do that on our own! So maybe, just maybe, they should ALL keep their dick in their pants and quit pretending they had nothing at all to do with impregnating a woman! They have 50% of the responsibility, yet WOMEN shoulder 100% of the repercussions! I am SO over this BS. I remember coathangers and back alleys and sleazy “Dr’s”……they need to butt the fuck out of women’s choices about her healthcare! And the last time I checked, abortion is LEGAL…no matter how much he screams and rants….so he wants to put women in jail for a LEGAL PROCEDURE? Florida….you need to clean house. BIG TIME!
It amazes me what some GOP men DON’T KNOW. They want kill the doctors, put the women in prison, starve the baby when its born, and not mention the men who got these women pregnant.
Some things never change…they all have bravado and bluster, but they never, EVER want to take responsibility for anything THEY do. You can plug this into anything they talk about, not just women’s rights…..they just talk and talk like they’re experts on everything, ignoring facts, and the long term issues that are associated with all they “think they know”.
The truth is, that all the moderate Republicans have been purged form their own party…and we are left with authoritarian fascist nutjobs. I have no use for any of them. PBO is a MUCH better person than I am….he still has hope that they will come to their senses and do the right things. I gave up on that years ago…they have shown their hands and I believe them when they’ve shown me who they really are.
And they call themselves Christians. What is Christian about that?
They can CALL themselves whatever they like. They shame their religion and what it stands for.
Hi and bye! There’s a ball game on this afternoon, I should have a chance to hang out with all o’ y’all! Yippee! Love ya’ Chips!
Hi and bye, Pamela! Enjoy your ball game. Is D in place in her new venture yet?
She flew all night with a 4 hour layover at Dubai! Is safely in France, has a new post on the rabbit earth blog, with a stunning photo of the villa! Oh my, oh my! What a gal!
back later, love ya’ !
We-e-ell?
Don’t forget to repost the blog address for the rabbit earth blog! You don’t expect me to go hunting all through the past posts to find it, do you? Jeez louise!
BTW ‘Love you back!’
There is a really nice story about Tom Barrett on Daily Kos….the comments are also good. It is about election day 2008.
Gosh I hope he wins.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/06/01/1096697/-My-Tom-Barrett-Story
Thanks for posting this Linda. Read the story and went to Tom Barrett’s website and donated–Great way to start the day.
Going to OFA and phone bank for Tom Barrett and GOTV! Go Wisconsin!
Beloved Smarypants on a good Saturday morning:)

Another day, another lie from Mitt Lips! Pony up everyone! If his lips are moving, he’s LYING!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://bobcesca.com/blog-archives/2012/06/romney-lie-of-the-day.html
Which reminds me…………http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/06/01/493849/obama-bush-jobs-record/
Funny how the R’s didn’t mind those public sector jobs when SCRUB was President!
Thanks alice:) Only I’d call it what it is…LYING! Fibbing is NOT what this is…CHRONIC LYING is what this is!
very true I started out with lying then i thought no wait lieing no lyeing no, sigh……so fibbing it was. But you are correct to name the beast as it really is! Thanks for all the articles!
Good morning. Congrats CMan! FOUR MORE YEARS!!!!!!!!!!
Good morning to a beautiful day here in Baltimore, Maryland. Greeting to all my TOD Family.
Morning, Sonjia:) Enjoy your day….we have a “cooling trend” here today….only 106! Down from the 112 of yesterday! WHOOOT!
Morning
In your neck of the WOODS @ CapJazz.
Bet those RWNJ’s don’t scream about THIS kind of socialism!
http://blogs.reuters.com/david-cay-johnston/2012/06/01/how-corporate-socialism-destroys/
A snippet: Having taxpayers pay nearly all of a new investment is becoming common. General Electric, for example, is getting Ohio taxpayers to cover 92 percent of a $126 million project
That’s how corporate socialism works — taxpayers donate capital, while the owners keep the profits.
Congel, along with GE and others, should rely on the market to finance projects. If a project is sound, the market will finance it and, if not, why should taxpayers donate?
When the Monroe County industrial development agency gave Congel’s plan initial approval I asked for its due diligence. The county provided a thin report stating that if taxpayers finance the restoration Medley Centre’s sales would grow from $30 million annually to $420 million.
The report cover states that Congel commissioned it. Judy Seil, director of the agency which gives money to companies, confirmed that Congel paid for the report. Still, she insisted, the report is the county’s due diligence.
That’s how corporate socialism works. The poor may have to pass a drug test to get benefits but rich applicants write their own ticket.
You know, the ‘job creators’ have had a good free ride on the tax front for so long that it’s hard for them to contemplate giving up any portion of their gains. That’s why they are desperately flinging money around to support their buddy Romney. And in the face of greed/money, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if one or two of the millionaires hidden behind Citizens U aren’t of a democratic bent, at least in times past. Yet, i have to believe in the power of each citizen having and using his/her vote this Nov.
New Massachusetts poll has Brown 39 and Warren 37???
How can their be 24 points undecided?
These are those who support Warren but the pollsters don’t want you to know about.
MA already fucked up twice by electing mehmney and that nude poser for Kennedy’s seat ? Hope they don’t become a three time loser.
I’m not sure there hasn’t been any State in the USA that hasn’t fucked up at some point in time. In 2010 we here in Hawai’i finally got linda lingle outta the gov’s seat after 8 years and elected a bona fide Dem, Gov Neil Abercrombie!
I certainly hope Mass has learned their lessons. I have a friend working on Elizabeth Warren’s campaign and they are all really ON IT!
I read where Sen. Brown made inroads in his Native American accusations of inappropriate minority status against Elizabeth Warren. Newspaper articles supported Brown’s accusations. Personally, I am 1/16th enrolled tribal member and know that employers cannot claim a person as Native American for hiring purposes unless they have a roll number. That would seem to place any blame on the employer not the employee in my opinion. Throwing around accusations without checking details is what Brown is about. The media should be ashamed for going along with it.
IMPORTANT READ!!
http://blogs.reuters.com/david-cay-johnston/2012/02/07/how-romney-would-tax-us/
You want to see income inequality? OMG. And then there’s this:
Another provision in Romney’s plan would be to raise the ceiling on the number of visas issued to holders of advanced degrees in math, science and engineering who have job offers in those fields from U.S. companies.
While this seems like a smart idea, it does have a downside. Software engineers and others already complain that foreign workers on visas are depressing their wages, and Romney’s plan would likely make it worse. But employers will love it.
Romney, whose father was born in Mexico, would also let foreign-born students stay in the United States, provided they earn advanced degrees in engineering, math or science. And he would open the doors to wealthy people because he believes they are “job creators.”
Those last two provisions seem very smart. It is also exactly what happens in Canada, where one in five Canadians is an immigrant.
These are serious issues with potentially far-reaching implications. This is what the media should be examining, instead of verbal trivia from the campaign trail.
which also goes to show how ‘tea baggers’ will vote against their own beliefs. I’m sure ‘tea baggers’ just LOVE them some foreigners.
What a bunch of idiots.
Ah un-frack-ing-believ-able!
LOL. Nice letter. So will there be a tug of war between Tyler and Mr Ackerman on who gets to keep it ?
Oh, it better be Tyler who keeps the note. If I were Tyler, I would just SHOW it to Mr. Ackerman. I’m sure that Mr. Ackerman can read.
LOL!!! You’re too much!
Good Morning, All: I have been extremely busy and have only been lurking these past weeks. I want to share something with you. I receive quite a few requests for donations or memberships from various non-profit organizations. I received one this week and almost all have the same tone. This is my response:
I am extremely disturbed by the attached correspondence from your organization. Although I believe and agree strongly in this cause, I am disappointed in words that are used.
Your organization seems to be putting the blame at President Obama’s feet by stating we must “tell President Obama to protect us”. At what point do we take responsibility and stand up to the religious extremist ourselves? When will we hold those accountable for this legislation instead of dictating to the President what he must do?
As usual, the culprits who are responsible are not listed. Only President Obama is mentioned by name. I am more than certain that this matter would be vetoed if it were to land on his desk. This petition should be placed at the feet of local, state and congressional officials who have or are trying to enact these laws and not the President of the United States.
I am deeply disappointed in organizations such as yours that would rather fight those on your side than the true enemy who want to take the freedoms away. Please wake up and fight those who fight against us!
As such and in the future, I would appreciate if you would remove my name from your membership listing. I don’t want to be a part of a cowardly organization such as this.
#PRESSON
Excellent auntsis. Raising money off Obama is disgusting and your reply was spot on.
Thanks Renegade for sharing this with us. This is an excellent pushback. I’ve also received many emails asking for donations along with demands of and ultimatums to President Obama…and I’ve had to set them straight a few times. (e.g., Moveon.org)
FANTASTIC letter, AuntSis. I hope everyone will follow your lead.
Perfect. perfect. Perfect!
Great response Renegade…
We must always respond, inform and push back…
{{Aunt SIS}} Thank you for standing with the President in this way, AND for sharing this modeled response with us! Thank you, if only more of us would tell it like it is in this calm, reasoned and adult way, before telling them to stuff it!
I truly appreciate the way you expressed the fact that
a) the fight isn’t against Pres O, who is on their side, and
b) they need to go after the ‘local, state and congressional officials’ behind the laws.
Enough is indeed enough! Your letter made me think of the effort ‘What is Working’ – one of our sister blogs- started months ago. She was collecting sample letters that those who don’t have the time/desire to compose, but who could be persuaded to contact their reps, could use with relevant modifications. Your letter is a terrific and timely example that I hope you will share with her. So many people are asking for donations these days that it’s in our own interests to tell them why we don’t support them when they are undermining the President. Thanks again, Aunt SIS!
good response auntsis! spot on!
Excellent!
But at a rally in Paterson to support Rep. Bill Pascrell, Clinton said his remarks got “twisted around.”
“I said, you know, Governor Romney had a good career in business and he was a governor, so he crosses the qualification threshold for him being president,” Clinton said. “But he shouldn’t be elected, because he is wrong on the economy and all these other issues.
“So today, because I didn’t attack him personally and bash him, I wake up to read all these stories taking it out of context as if I had virtually endorsed him, which means the tea party has already won their first great victory: ‘We are supposed to hate each to disagree.’ That is wrong.”
Clinton did, however, basically repeat the words that will end up in Republican response ads to the ones Democrats will air.
-//
Bill, Stop talking!
Yup. STFU Bill.
Ugh…
Could someone please stuff this guy’s mouth with something…
…anything…
He has to walk that thin line because Private Equity people donate to his Foundations.
Then he ought to stay away from campaign related matters and stop undercutting the President’s message…
He can return to straddling, double speak and sabotage on November 7th…
President Carter and even George Bush jr. seem to be managing quite while staying out of it…
The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board, which oversees elections in the state, announced Friday that at least 182,228 absentee ballots have been issued for the June 5 gubernatorial recall election.
That’s almost three times as many as the 68,000 absentee ballots tracked in the Statewide Voter Registration System for the May 8 recall primary, which saw about 29.5 percent turnout overall. http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/wisconsin-election-officials-over-180-000-absentee-ballots
I hope this favors the Dems.
I heard some rt. wing nutball spin this as favoring Walker. There was some mysterious comment re. he had seen the absentee ballots—–what???—–guess he must have meant the locations where most had been submitted. In any case, I don’t believe a word any of these Repubs say.
Pot legalization just got put on ballot in Colorado.
That is very good news For Barack Obama.
More Young People will vote…
GM,
As a foreigner I just want to say to all at TOD to keep fighting and not give an inch. The money stuff and the lying from the Republicans will be brutal and the media is in the tank for Romney. But PBO is brilliant. I hope it all goes well over the next few months. I have a suggestion – would you consider teaming up with other lefty blogs (even Dkos) t make a coordinated push back on stupid media narratives. They might be cowed by mass twitter deluges. You could nominate one person from each blog to co ordinate with their counterpart on other blogs and then provide the info on when to push back. Just a thought. I wish i could donate – as I’m sure do many people around the world.
I have advised my friends and family who are not Americans to joine the “virtual fight on behalf of PBO”.
I told them that you may not be able to donate money but you can donate your ideas to PBO’s Ameican supporters, use multimedia tools to spread the good word about PBO and push back when lies about PBO are told especially online
Thanks duny for your supportive and encouraging words. On the right hand margin, Chips has a list of preferred “lefty” blogs including “The People’s View” and our TODer Liberal Librarian writes great articles there. That blog would be a great place to team up with because its owner, Deaniac, is an excellent writer, great at countering MSM/PL/GOP memes, and unwavering in his support of PBO. I have occasionally written diaries at DKOS and they’ve generally improved over the past several months, but there are still elements of PL propaganda that I would rather avoid.
I know – they can be awful sometimes but i think Jed Lewison is a good guy and this seems like it’s a time to put differences aside and all pitch in together. I remember during the 08 election how well all the blogs worked together to push back on the stupid media narratives. I think the MSM should be careful – I have a feeling that they are the next obvious target for occupy types to go after. I also don’t understand why occupy isn’t going after voter suppression/citizens united. It seems like a good issue for them but I think they’ve blown it – I thought they missed their chance when they wouldn’t let John Lewis speak.
Good west coast morning Chipsticks and TOD family.
I’m off to work a phonebank for WI at our SoCal OFA headquarters on Venice & Motor. Then on Wednesday, I’ve been chosen as a volunteer to assist at the LA campaign event POTUS will be attending. My inner goddess is doing the happy dance
Chipsticks – you are a fierce fighter for our wonderful TOD site and I’m so very grateful.
be back later
You get to see PBO???????????? OMG! Happy dance is right:)
Have a GOOD (as in lots of positive responses) PHONEBANKING Day, GG!
COOL!! Looking forward to your report next Wednesday!!
OMG GGail – w00t!!!
Good. This is MISSOURI for crying out loud:)
http://thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2012/06/01/493933/poll-missouri-african-americans-make-huge-shift-toward-marriage-equality/
Df, oh but it’s black people that are against same sex marriage, didn’t you know? How dare you lie about that fact??? /snark big time.
Most black people I know are too busy on their daily grind to worry about who’s marrying who. It does not affect their life one itty bitty bit!
the media will not be shamed about this bias.
One thing they under-estimate is how much we black people (and people of many other races of course) love and respect PBO
EVERYBODY’S too worried about ANYTHING else to think about who loves whom. Anyone with a heart and a brain, that is:)
And the Republican weekly address?
Obama please show you are a leader and extend the Bush Tax cuts. Please please pleeeease please please!
Who gave it this week ?
Yeah, who lies this week?
Does it matter?
Jovie why don’t the Republicans show that they are leaders by passing the President’s jobs bill.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/06/02/bill-clinton-two-edged-sword-for-president-obama.html
President Obama’s campaign is going full throttle with its attacks on Mitt Romney’s time at the private equity firm Bain Capital despite concerns from some Democrats that the strategy could backfire.
Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt said Team Obama will continue to go after Romney’s record with the same intensity that’s marked the last two weeks, which have seen the release of two advertisements slamming Romney and Bain Capital for purchasing companies that later shed jobs and shut down.
http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/230557-obama-not-backing-off-attacks-on-romney-record-at-bain
Great!!! I want Team Obama to continue with the bain vampire capitalism charge. I hope that the Unions use this line of attack too
As for the back-stabbing dems who think they should side with bain – that is their own corrupt moral problem and not PBO’s. we need to know who these money-first morally corrupt dems are because they are part of the problem
Agree——they have proven to have way more interest in their own self-interests, their connections to the big money boys, than concern about the future of this country and all that hangs in the balance. It’s shameful and unforgivable in my opinion.
Barack Obama is no fool. This strategy is working and it’s EFFECTIVE, which is why the media is desperately pulling all stops including pushing Clinton as the latest dissenter of the strategy.
Both Guiliani and Huntsman (and many other prominent Repubs) have recently and openly criticized Romney.
GUILIANI on ROMNEY in Dec 2011:
// “I’ve never seen a guy change his positions on so many things, so fast, on a dime, on everything,” Giuliani said. “Pro-choice, pro-life. And pro-choice because somebody, a close friend, died, and he became pro-choice because this woman died of an abortion. Then he figures out there are embryos and he changes. “Then he was pro-gun control,” Giuliani continued. “Fine. Then he becomes a lifetime member of the NRA. Then he was pro-cap-and-trade. Now he’s against cap-and-trade. He was pro-mandate for the whole country, then he becomes anti-mandate and he takes that page out of his book and republishes the book. I could go on and on.”
Giuliani said this opens Romney to an attack from President Obama in the general election that “this is a man without a core,” “a man without substance” and “a man that will say anything to become president of the United States.” //
http://thehill.com/video/campaign/199585-giuliani-slams-romney-compares-gingrich-to-reagan
If Bill Clinton had ever used the words against Obama that Guiliani used against Romney, that alone would take up the MSM’s attention for the entire year.
// ” Bill Clinton on Obama: Clinton said this opens Obama to an attack from Governor Romney in the general election that “this is a man without a core,” “a man without substance” and “a man that will say anything to become president of the United States.” //
HUNTSMAN on ROMNEY in April 2012:
// But when asked about presumed nominee Mitt Romney — whom the former ambassador once called “completely unelectable,” but has since endorsed — Huntsman couldn’t help but bring up the candidate’s flip flopping:
JOE SCARBOROUGH: What does Mitt Romney stand for? What’s his core conviction?
HUNTSMAN: Listen, [laughter] he’s talking about jobs. He’s talking about economic revitalization. And I think he’s been consistent on that theme. You can talk about the other back and forth, and flip-flopping and the other things. … If you’ve wrapped yourself up in too many pledges, that diminishes your ability to do what needs to be done in the final stretch to some extent. //
http://thinkprogress.org/election/2012/04/23/469100/jon-huntsman-slams-gop-reagan-would-likely-not-be-able-to-win-today/
I agree with this. The media knows its working and that is why they are attacking this message. Let get the Dems to go against PBO too. Is that a new strategy? (snark). I saw a link somewhere that said the President will continue its attacks against Bain and will introduce Gov. Romney as well. Ha!! Take that!!
“President Obama’s campaign is going full throttle with its attacks on Mitt Romney’s time at the private equity firm Bain Capital despite concerns from some Democrats that the strategy could backfire.”
Yeah, right – or it could be some prominent Democrats pushing back might enable the President’s re-election team to generate more news on this controversy, that whould otherwise have died in a week’s time.
Note how we (including the right wing press) have been talking about Bain for weeks now.
PBO will be in SF again on Wednesday for a luncheon at the Julia Morgan Ballroom. CA-CHING:
$5K general admission
$7,500K photo reception
$50K Table Captain
He’a also doing a private roundtable discussion downtown in historic The Landmark near the Embarcadero, site of the old Southern Pacific Building. Then he’s off to LA for an LGBT gala. He spends the night in LA and then flies to Nevada to do a public event at University of Las Vegas.
Tyler Sullivan and his father are ecstatic about the absence excuse from PBO
does anyone remember the young lady who received another school absence excuse from PBO??? It happened earlier in his first year (I think this was when he was promoting either the stimulus or health care)
De na!!!
I guess he tore off a part of his actual speech to write the note? Too cute and so funny.
Ha, yeah, that’s what it looked like Meta!
Yes, Yes, this is what I was talking about.
Chips, thanks a lot for sharing. In this exchange it seemed as though Ms Kennedy’s father wanted the excuse for himself too. he was very happy about his daughter’s being singled out and with the Presidential words being put on paper for his dear child.
I notice in the video you posted that Tyler’s dad is smiling with a sense of disbelief about the absence.
Ms Myra’s family yesterday also had a grin from ear to ear and you could see the pride they felt in their kids
for me, these small things tha PBO and Mrs Obama ( and the Bidens too) do for ordinary people make me love them e\ven more because you cannot fake this level of kindess and honesty- it is already ingrained in the deepth of your soul.
these remind me of the lady who received money from PBO when stranded at the airport many, many, many years ago. He never expected his kind act to a total stranger to become known years later by the whole world.
Chips, maybe one day when you already very busy schedule allows, you can collect the anectodes of ordinary people into a single post called “the things PBO and Mrs Obama did when cameras where not looking”
Just wait, next we will see Romney writing excuses for kids at his rallies. LOL
I notice PBO’s schedule is empty for the morning and I have no doubt he is working at his home.
I wonder though if PBO will also use this morning to drop into his Chicago Campaign Office to boost the morale of volunteers and staff
I hope he got to sleep in, enjoy his old bed and get a good night’s sleep. He said he might cook up a little something for himself—used to like to cook, putter around in the backyard and visit old friends. Not long enough of a stop but probably welcome just the same. Everyone, especially presidents, deserves and needs private, personal, alone time. It’s rejuvenating.
PBO works too hard – harder than any President and I know. Yes he deserves a sleep in
There ain’t nothing like your own bed, but some time around January 2017, he and Michelle can sleep in their own bed for good. The country needs him and Michelle right now.
He slept in a bit and SS went out and brought in breakfast.( probably from Velois in Hyde Park). He then jumped in the car and off to Soldier Field (up Lake Shore Drive-10 min). He then got into Copper 1 and took off for ORD(O’Hare). He was outta here before noon.
this is very good!!! please continue to share the comment
Peter Flom: “The problem isn’t that Mitt Romney’s bank account is so large,it’s that his hear is so small.” This one is a keeper.
Psst. What heart? Mascots don’t have hearts.
ok,his motherboard!
Good Morning Todville
I have been waiting all morning to say hello. It is so positive here. I don’t think I can continue to listen to Chris hayes anymore. It’s like listening to Fox Noise. Furthermore, his diction irritates me. He always sounds like he is regurtiating. He spent the whole 2 hours with his guess bashing the President about the “Kill List”. The same old dummies on there like Jeremy Schaill complaining about drones. I don’t know maybe I’m just too callous.; but do these firebaggers really think in cases like Al Awakki, a traitor, and his son the military should have stopped a precarious operation to have read that traitor his Miranda rights?
The drones, I don’t know? I’m confused. See, I equate suicide bombers with drones. Maybe I’m wrong. Anyhow I do know we are fighting a different type of war. No longer do we know where the enemy is. Like I said, I’m confused on the one hand. On the other hand, I trust my President.’s judgement to take out the enemy and keep us safe.
Congrats Cman on being 1st. You beat me by about one hour.
Everyone have a nice day.
I gave up on him long ago……his stuttering drove me crazy and he always looks like he sleeps in his clothes….
Besides that…..I don’t like his far lefty politics. He belongs on Current.
Without a doubt, Chris would fit in just perfectly there.
I saw Jeremy Schaill on Bill Maher not too long ago…well I saw a clip…..He said President Obama was to the right of Cheney!….it was horrible.
They are Glenn Greenwald cultits……
Chris Hayes is good friend with Greenwald who always put on his Twitter TL links to his show,….
I saw on twitter not too long ago a couple of tweets from JeffersonObama…one was that Chris Hayes blocked him on Twitter.
If there’s a true supporter of the President out there its JeffersonObama….he’s great, and his tweets about polls are very informative,…
Another tweet from him that is so true……”Glenn Greenwald…a noun, a verb and drones.”
Chris Hayes is NOT a supporter.
We all know about Greenwald…his hatred for the President is pathological…..and the double standard as well….to think that he supported Bush and the Iraq war says it all, he’s a right wing libertarian.
…and I agree with Linda, he belongs on Current, he will fit right in with his buddy Cenk whatshisname,….
Most of those folks from “The Nation” magazine are far, far, far left. I made the mistake of subscribing to that magazine for 1 year. I wasted my money because I threw it in the trash each time I received it. I was very disappointed with it. MHP also writes for that magazine. I actually like Jon Nikolas who reports on the WI happenings.
Many of those wannabe intellectuals adopt “far left” positions because they associate that ideological bent with “high intelligence” whatever that is.
I did the same thing – threw it in the trash and couldn’t wait for the subscription to end. I honestly dont think there is a far, far left. Its make believe because the far, left left has done nothing but complain since they gave themselves that title. They are part of the right wing to keep us divided and fight amongst ourselves – to which they are happy to oblige. JMHO
You know – I don’t listen to any of that stuff anymore – truthfully I don’t have time. But on the other hand they make me rageful all the time and I don’t want to raise my bloodpressure! But I’m glad that others are pushing back against people who are telling untruths.
I just saw on Twitter that Jeremy Schaill called President Obama a murderer on UpwithChris…..and Chris Hayes didn’t say anything of course.
ah jumpin jehosaphat!
Re. Wi.—–I thought this Kathy Nickolaus, the Waukesha Co. clerk who causes controversy during every election, who always manages to find an extra 14,000 votes in the back closet at the last minute, just the amount needed for the Repub to win, had stepped down under pressure. Now I see she’s still there and in charge. Unbelievable.

They need her to cheat….But there will be no taking computers home and all that nonsense. Too many people watching.
Wow, what a lucky girl. If I were her parent; I would definitely have the school photocopy that note. Just think she has the President’s signature for her self, kids, grandkids, and on into perpetuity.
FEDS DID NOT CONFIRM WALKER’S JOB NUMBERS – BLS CLARIFICATION
Yesterday, Scott Walker and the Department of Workforce Development attempted to pull the wool over the eyes of Wisconsinites with their claim that the Bureau of Labor Statistics confirmed his fictitious claim of creating jobs in Wisconsin. The AP Reported.
Politiscoop contacted the BLS today for verification of the claim. It turns out to be one of Walker’s biggest lies to date. In a conversation with a BLS representative, we found that the state of Wisconsin submitted a new formula in regard to jobs created or lost in the state. The example we were given was as follows:
Originally the state would have had a formula such as 1+3+10=14; Wisconsin changed the math to be 4+10=14. As you can see, both come to the same result, just one less step in doing so and wouldn’t generate 30,000 extra jobs. The BLS also pointed out the fact that each year the benchmarks for the state are adjusted to account for any changes to prevent statistical errors.
The BLS also made it clear that if there was such an egregious error in Wisconsin, that error would also apply to the rest of the United States. In other words, Wisconsin would still be dead last in job creation. We contacted the Scott Walker campaign and were given a “no comment”. We also reached out to communications director, Ciara Mathews, and asked for proof of Scott Walker’s claim. We have yet to receive a reply.

Well, even if Walker isn’t recalled chances are his ass is going to jail in regards to his John Doe probe.
The people who root against this man out of pure bigotry and prejudice have a special place in the after life set aside just for them. The reaction from that little boy at Honeywell is priceless. If the media gave the POTUS just 10% of this type of coverage as they do to the lies and distortions, 2012 would be a wrap.
you hit the nail on the head with your post. thanks a lot for this thought
GM Chipsticks and TOD. Thanks for the great pictures and videos of President Obama signing the absence note. It was a very cool and cute gesture as always from the President of the Free World. An awesome way to start my day coming here viewing them
Obama’s Neighborhood Abuzz – President Obama’s neighborhood, where the commander-in-chief was staying Friday night. – http://chicago.cbslocal.com/video/7355658-obamas-neighborhood-abuzz/
Talk about living in a fish bowl……
HA! I know. But would Willard’s MA neighborhood be “all abuzz” if he were to make a visit as PBO? I don’t think so!!!
Hey check this out from Betsy – this is good news!
now if all states could follow CA’s lead.
I seem to remember that WI had this same day registration but that it was one of the things that the thug walker chose to strike down
yep I think that’s right GC. He’s really a criminal. June 5th can’t come soon enough!
Isn’t that great a4alice? LOVE my state!
w00t!
We need more action like this coming from the Democrats, to counter the right-wing-nuts and their faux voter reform bills.☺
Agreed!
He has the magic touch! Love him! Good day all!
I just love the written excuse for the young boy’s teacher. How cool that is.
Isn’t it precious? No wonder they framed it
Chipsticks… Your commentary is the best..no seriously, you are the best! Love this site, your humor, the TOD family, and President Obama!!!!
I think that’s what I appreciate the most about Chips….her sense of humor….when she has the time and get silly in here or with Snark….I often have tears rolling down my cheeks from laughing so hard……she’s very talented lol,…
The Reid Report. On point, as usual!!
Why the GOP plays the vote blocking card
OH Baby!!! Bring the popcorn!!

Norquist: Jeb Bush Insulted Mitt Romney By Abandoning Anti-Tax Pledge
Shorter Norquist: HOW DARE YOU UNDERMINE ME AND MY TREASONOUS PLEDGE!
Norquist is becoming irrelevant…..I saw him on Bill Maher a few weeks ago and he could not give a convincing argument on anything.
David Cay Johnston made cream of wheat out of him….
Since Romney is a compulsive liar I would think his signing a pledge to Norquist would be the same as not signing it. Who could ever trust anything he says or signs?
Wi. pastor sentenced to 2 yrs. in prison for child abuse for instructing his flock to discipline children—as young as 2 mo. old—-by spanking with wooden spoons and rods. They were to beat the “selfishness” out of them. Some were hit for crying!!! A 2 mo. old crying!!! We have a lot of crazy people in this country—–and gullible people who follow religious crazy people.

Lets see him fend off the prisoners who hate child abusers….COWARD!
Good West Coast morning everyone. (Stealing that from GGail.)
Watching England hopefully not lose to Belgium, waiting for my deep freezer to arrive, and just generally doing nothing for my last two days of vacation.
I’ve been out of the loop for pretty much the whole week. Hope to be back at it Monday.
Hello LL! Enjoy your relaxing Sunday
Hey, it’s still Saturday! Don’t take a day away from me!
Oh you’re right! Sorry for my oops…I’m still in vacation mode and have completely lost track of time the past week.
Me too. I kept thinking I had to go to work today.
Oh wow, that is excellent news!
Wow…. I thought I just read the State was going to defy the order from DOJ….
Good for the election supervisors…
very good start.
But I hope it goes beyond suspension and into total revoke for an eternity
yes!
Great!
Chikenshitsheads!….they don’t wanna go to jail,b/c DOJ is hot on their butts!
This is great news. Election supervisors tend to support each other, so we may see this spreading.
is it too late to place the same-date registration on the different states’ ballots.
if this same-day registration was made to be retro-active to this election, then this could be one way to counter the hideous voter registration laws put in place by the right wingers
Yup…I also notice that on “Google” searches yield more negative stuff on PBO than Willard. Negative stuff on Romney is suppressed on the Internet.
Moron is too nice a description.

Mittens Tells Struggling Homeowners ‘Too Bad, So Sad, Oh Well’
Just in case any of the 11.5 million struggling homeowners out there are waiting to hear what Mitt Romney’s plans are to turn around the housing market, and help those with underwater mortgages, his policy director Lanhee Chen wants you to know up front that there will be no targeted relief for you people.
Via:
Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, doesn’t intend to offer targeted relief for the 11.5 million American homeowners who owe more on their mortgages than their homes are worth, Chen said, suggesting that such actions are temporary fixes insufficient to stabilize the housing market.
“Governor Romney has indicated that there are some steps we ought to take to ensure that we’re growing our economy,” Chen said. “But on the housing market specifically, I do think we have to resist the temptation for short-term approaches.”
That near global meltdown of the financial markets that screwed the daylights out of homeowners? Tough shit…you’re on your own. You should have had the money to weather the storm! People better remember this
This article kind of “compliments” the one above.

Connect the dots. Follow the money. If people don’t figure out another damn thing this election season….these two statements should do the trick.
Good Afternoon TOD!
Just got in from a few hours making calls at the OFA office. We are making calls to recruit volunteers and what’d ya know I had my own name on one of my call sheets. I got a chuckle out of that.
The office was buzzing and nobody…I repeat NOBODY cared one iota about what cable news is saying about the President. They were focused and FIRED UP!
p.s I was happy to see more young people there volunteering this week.
PressOn!
You’re a hero ro me, Donna. Just has to say it.
Beautiful to see. Some semblance of normal.
Is that Valerie Jarret with him?
Yes, she is never very far away.
He has missed doing this; so glad he had a chance to do it today. I know the only thing to make it more perfect for him would have been to have Michelle by his side. Hopefully, the family is waiting for him at Camp David.
Chris Chrisie would have taken a helicopter and then a limo to get to the end of the block
Yes DF..I was happy to see this pic:-) The lady looks like Valerie Jarrett?..
Here is a better photo. Yes it is Valerie Jarrett.

I can almost hear the birds and feel the air…..and see that just the ability to take this walk….our President looks rejuvenated, and that makes me smile.
Yes, President Obama looks refreshed, relaxed, and ready to go!
Thank You Cos…much better:-)
Don’t forget this

Mitt Romney’s big green flop
A Bay State solar panel developer that landed a state loan from Mitt Romney when he was Massachusetts governor has gone belly up — a day after the GOP presidential hopeful ripped President Obama’s green-energy investments.
Lowell-based Konarka Technologies announced late yesterday that it filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection and will cease operations, lay off its 85 workers and liquidate.
“Konarka has been unable to obtain additional financing, and given its current financial condition, it is unable to continue operations,” CEO Howard Berke said in a statement. “This is a tragedy for Konarka’s shareholders and employees and for the development of alternative energy in the United States.”

VAN JONES: REPUBLICAN PARTY GAIN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PEOPLE’S PAIN
Are the American people going to reward the Republican Party betrayal??

The latest jobs numbers are the worst in a year and Mitt Romney and the Republicans are cheering against the American worker for their own election prospects. Ed Schultz discusses the latest economic report and the GOP obstruction with Rebuild the Dream president Van Jones.

Hilarious
I have been trying to think of a comparative analogy of the US voters naivity if they vote for Romney.
I thought about comparing it to a teenager who takes the family car out and wrecks it after using drugs or alcohol and instead of getting punished/consequences is given his own car by the enabling parents.
Voters who decide to vote for Romney after the GOP brought us to this economic disaster then obstructed and blocked the solution are like the enabling parents that give into their foolish teenager demands.
