That’s what I was coming down to say, Jojo. He really looks like Malia in that pic! And I’ve never seen that one before, so Maryl you got a special treat. Congrats on your stamina as well as your first place here.
Chips, that is AWESOME! It makes all nine hours worthwhile!. I am trying like crazy to get all my end-of-school-year work done so I can leave next Friday on the last day of school for FRANCE!!!! to visit my daughter. I’m going crazy with excitement and work load! So I can look at this picture and just chill the **** out!
This is the f irst time that i have seen this one; he looks about 17. Does anyone know the circumstances of this photo? Thanks. I love how he is rocking the ‘Fro and his shades. Go Barry!
What a fantastic treat! Ah Chica, you have been wonderfully good to us today, lots of pics as the morning award and memory lane video clips for the evening smile! Happy Sigh, I’ve gone to heaven without dying!
I sure hope this means that you have also had a marvelous day yourself!
A marvelous day? No, I had a rubbish day – I was meant to get a whole heap of work done, but decided “meh, there’s always tomorrow”. And now tomorrow is almost here. Gulp.
Ah CC! {{{Chips C}}} Sure hope the ‘rubbish’ part was more because you didn’t get enough work done than the actual tone of the day.
You should once again go over all these lovely clips you set up for us. They are guaranteed to make you smile.
I confess to being a paid up member in the ‘there’s always tomorrow’ club, which usually means my staying up into the wee wee hours to complete work related stuff for the next day. Over the next month, I actually have to prepare before going in to work (as opposed to my previous one day here and one day there assignments) and because I could see myself procrastinating while I checked out TOD this weekend, I stayed at work late yesterday to complete Monday’s preparation. I will send lots of positive thought your way tomorrow when you are doing catch up.
“I stayed at work late yesterday to complete Monday’s preparation”
Now see VC, that there is my problem ….. I never prepare sensibly in advance. My motto is: “What’s the rush?”, even when a rush is severely needed.
I actually dreamt one night recently about being an organized person, woke up with a smile, then realized it was but a dream, and said: “Arrrrrrggggghhhhhhhh!”
I gave up the hopeless dream of being organized long ago. The only good thing is that I am organized in my thinking and planning, but the end execution can be a little dicey. Every desk and work table in my room is covered with books and files and I am not at the point of simply tossing everything into file boxes to be sorted out (maybe) when school resumes in the fall. I can live with it.
First so far?? If so I need a reeeeeeaaaaaallllllyyyyyy fabulous picture!!! I’m exhausted! (Actually that’s why I caught the post – because I’m too tired to do anything except stare at the screen!)
I’m kinda on a Broadway kick today. A friend of mine should have tickets for Momma Mia tomorrow.
I’ve the traveling show of Cats and Dreamgirls. The Dreamgirls shows was great, but if there was every a musical I wish I had seen the original cast perform, it’s that one.
I mean I enjoyed the movie version as well, but no one can do “And I Am Telling You…” justice like Jennifer Holliday, the original Effie White, could.
I had the pleasure of seeing Dream girls when it came to Los Angeles and we were lucky that Jennifer Holiday performed that night. She had not been there all week.
Jennifer Hudson did a very good job in the movie….that’s why she won an academy award for supporting actress….JH’s performance was definately runner-up to Holiday.
I would have LOVED to party with Barack back in the day!!! Ohio Players? Earth, Wind and Fire??? WHATT??!!??? Are you kidding me? They say he can’t dance, but he has great taste in soul music, in fact, if he has anything to do with the choice of musicians at the White House concerts, he has great musical tastes, period. GREAT TASTE!!!
He’d fit right in with our TOD party’s…are you kidding! How cool would that be…as I recall, we do Ohio Players, Earth, WInd and Fire…..some funk…he’d fit right in!
Ms. Warwick had that effect on my dad. He fell in love after seeing her perform in concert. He loved that she was just so smooth and classy. That’s why I’m her namesake. I guess dad had high hopes for me. :-/
Awww. You and your aunt must have had a very special relationship, JoJo. She lives on through you and the memories you have of your times together. Blessings.
I had the incredible pleasure of seeing Dionne Warwick in concert with Burt Bachrach and they were phenomenal as a team. They seemed so in tune with each other, they each effortlessly made the other seem better. . Bachrach’s songs are always best when she sings them and he gave her some of the most glorious material any singer could hope for. I’m glad you were named after the divine Warwick, Hachiko. Hope things are working out for you.
Truthfully, I think the younger Aretha Franklin was a more brilliant artist. Her voice was amazing. Her range unbelievable. I have all those old songs and am still awed by her talent.
Truthfully, I think the younger Aretha Franklin was a more brilliant artist. Her voice was amazing. Her range unbelievable. I have all those old songs and am still awed by her talent.
Hachiko, How are you? I thought about you this week. How is your dog? What about MAine? Are you well rested? I hope you both are. Much love from the Caribbean.
Hi trinisamba! I’m good. Tucker is fine. He’s happy as long as he’s with his mama. Oh yes, well rested. I got a little part-time summer job with a non-profit political community org here in Maine. It’s the mainepeoplesalliance.org. LunarSea tipped me off to the fact that they were hiring field canvassers.
Is it treason to purposefully block any help for the economy so voters blame the president and turn to the other party? Just asking.— Bill Maher (@billmaher) June 02, 2012
To which my initial response was …
Keep asking that question @BillMaher & What do you call an organized plot to destroy President Obama irrespective of the damage to USA?— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) June 02, 2012
But, then felt the need to be more direct and, if you check my TL, you’ll see several folk will get the question. For now, I’ll share the first recipient, an all time TOD fav
@davidgregory What do you call an organized plot & persistent effort to destroy President Obama irrespective of the damage to USA?— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) June 02, 2012
@billmaher: I need 2 know the answer 2. GOP leaders said it aloud. Plotted in Jan/2009. Acted, AND the econ struggles. I vote yes to treason— Vick C. (@sonamie) June 02, 2012
Mr. Maher, I keep hoping the voters will use the common sense the good Lord gave them, and not be fool by what the Republicans have been doing. The voters have seen how extreme radical the Republicans have gotten, they have seen how the Republicans refuse to work with this President. They seen how because of the Republicans behavior for the first time America credit was downgraded. The voters went to the Republicans in 2010, and what have it gotten us? Use your common sense voters.
Just had to respond Annie; now they want the American public to repeat 2010 bad decision so that they may continue to reek havoc on us. It will not get better for the majority of the American people if we leave the Repubs in office. If it is suppose to be so bad for some of us now, just think what will happen later.
The media is lying as we all here know; around me it is evident that the economy is improving. Folk appear to be happy and they are certainly buying and upkeeping their residences unlike a few years back when they were walking away from their mortgages.
Job numbers were great! We did not lose any, so any gain is better than a loss any day of the week.
The truth and common sense is exactly what we need. Believe your own press.
Almost first: slow iPhone. Thanks Chips for all your housecleaning. Saw Ben Jealous from NAACP at fundraiser for SAFE CA (replacing the death penalty with permanent incarceration which will save $1 billion over 5 years which can be better used to improve public safety: 46% of homicides and 56% of rapes are not solved in CA). I thanked him for NAACP position on SSM. He said that Board members who had worked with MLK said that they should not act like whites had in the 60s, recalling how they had been told “Not now” “Just wait” “Later”. Looks like replacing the death penalty may pass if we work hard enough. Many former supporters now recognize that it doesn’t work and the money could be spent elsewhere. Permanent incarceration is much cheaper than the death penalty and prevents the execution of innocent people. One of the SAFE CA supporters spent 20 years on death row for a crime he was accused of when 16. He was exonerated and is now free.
Mahalo Chips for that vid with Malia and Sasha talking about how COOL it would be to live in the White House! I’ve never really heard them talk at all..they’re even more Adorable if possible!
Brian Williams sure mangled Malia’s name way back then..poor guy didn’t know how to say it on national tv.
Hellooooooooooooooooooo Cha! I was semi-reluctant to post that clip because I know PBO said he regretted involving Malia and Sasha in the interview, but it’s just ridiculously cute, so I couldn’t resist!
Because of the media firestorm after it. The next day, the news was pretty much all about Sasha and Malia. The press really got out of control with their coverage.
The media started asking for access, moving in on photographing them more. I think they put their foot down when companies started making Malia and Sasha dolls.
I think both he and Michelle mentioned that they regretted it because it drew so much media attention to the girls. Not they didn’t expect attention, but I really think they underestimated how incredibly intense the scrutiny would be of every single word, movement, piece of clothing related to the girls.
Asked the good Gov O’Malley a question earlier today ….
@GovernorOMalley What do you call an organized plot & persistent effort to destroy President Obama irrespective of the damage to USA?— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) June 02, 2012
Asked the DOJ the same question and one more ….
@TheJusticeDept What do you call an organized plot & persistent effort to destroy President Obama irrespective of the damage to USA?— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) June 03, 2012
Excellent Framing! PObama’s all about helping the country so the gops sabotage our country because it would be bad for PBO. Bob is right..it’s TREASON.
Synonyms
1. T reason , sedition mean disloyalty or treachery to one’s country or its government. T reason is any attempt to overthrow the government or impair the well-being of a state to which one owes allegiance; the crime of giving aid or comfort to the enemies of one’s government. S edition is any act, writing, speech, etc., directed unlawfully against state authority, the government, or constitution, or calculated to bring it into contempt or to incite others to hostility, ill will or disaffection; it does not amount to treason and therefore is not a capital offense. 2. See disloyalty.
The gops would certainly be throwing those terms around..and in fact they did when anyone didn’t want to go with bush lies. It’s the US corporatemediawhore$$$$$$$ who let them get away with Everything.. as we all too well know.
Cha, this is the question I forwarded to BillMaher yesterday, it was a question I posed to @edshow ….
@edshow Here's the question you should ask: What do you call an organized plot to destroy President Obama irrespective of the damage to USA?— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) June 02, 2012
Thank you Bobfr for pressing this important plot, which was set up the same day Our President was sworn into office. And…since the GOP took over the house in 2010, how many jobs bills have been drafted/passed? Name me one job bill that the GOP put forth that has to do with jobs.
I was reading on Beast that Clinton sabotages Obama by praising Bain. Why does the Obama campaign ask him to campaign? In my mind he does a lot of mean mischief. Maybe he is not yet over Obama’s win over Hillary, and wants to hurt the President. If he goes on with his sabotage I should imagine a lot of people will think twice before they give his favorite ambitions any support in the future. People who follow the Democratic Party can have long memories, and especially if they see Democrats hurting other good Democrats. And it is especially bad when the country is what is being hurt.

Hey Chips, there’s a clip you posted like 2 years ago. It’s of PBO coming home to the WH after being away for a while. He gets home and goes looking for Miche and he’s walking past cameramen and he goes something like “Miche, where is she?” and then you hear Miche go:”Here I am!” and she skips up to him and you could tell she was going in for a hug and kiss, but PBO stopped her so they just joined hands and walked up the paved walkway into the WH. It’s a TeaNN clip I believe and Miche’s hair is in a bob, and I think she’s wearing a dress and for some reason I keep seeing the color green. Do you remember that clip Chips? Do you still have it perchance? And if so, can you please post it? It’s one of my faves because Miche is so exuberant, she actually skips up to him and would have launched herself into his arms if PBO hadn’t stopped her bc he had been out of town and really missed her but he didn’t want to greet her in their special way in front of the camerapervs who were egging him on. But I’m telling you, as soon as the WH doors closed behind them, those two never made it to the residence, they were probably making out like two teenagers by the door. {{{sigh}}} Ah love! Je t’adore!!!
I absolutely love you, Chips!!!! — if I were ever to consider having kids, I’d pledge my first born to you!!! Instead I’ll offer one of my favorite pairs of heels!!
I’m glad that the 5 inches and the sunshine yellow color of it didn’t put you off! Thems some of my favorites!
Ps– in regards to the 5 inch heels, I’m height challenged, not a stripper.
Owwwww…..sexual healing. Just think if that song came out today, the music video would be over the top sexual that the FCC would have banded from the airwaves.
I get the shrubbing now. It was funny then, but I did not seem to get it! I was one of those who respectfully suggest you redo it. Dumb me. I apologize.
I stand to be corrected but I believe he called out FLOTUS………….that was such a “unable to describe” moment. Such sweet love as only POTUS and FLOTUS can……………..”sigh”
Aawwwwh! Just saw it ……….I was right…………..OMG……they are so in love with each other , it is unbelievable. POTUS makes it difficult for other men to get away with a lack od demonstration of love. …………my husband included.
Yes that comment made no sense because when I checked the page my computer showed 4 comments, and when I posted my comment above there were suddenly 59 comments! This is why I’m always amazed when I get first!
President Obama is the most charismatic man in the world. He exhudes power and confidence. He is also humble. He has a killer wit. He has a great sense of humor. The press cannot handle him. He will not let them. He is the boss and that is the bottom line. He has self respect in spite of certain disrespects. He knows that he will win in the end. He plays some things close to the vest. Thank God I have a chance to witness this all with my own eyes. He also has an air about him of complete peace and calm. Whenever things start swirling around he just gets sooo calm. We must not let our hearts be troubled or be afraid because there is absolutely nothing to fear. We got this and even more HE”s got this! OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!!!!
“The press cannot handle him. He will not let them.” THIS is why they say that he is aloof and other things that anyone else can see is untrue. They are so used to politicians who suck up to them or fear them that they do not know how to respond to someone who neither needs them or cares about them.
Good night all.
Seen all these videos before, but I had to stop to watch them all again. You just can not get too much Barack or Barack and Michelle.
Love them all.
Chips, this post is ‘just what the doctor ordered’, so thanks! Would it be not too difficult to find the clip from early in their WH stay when PBO came back from a trip and Sasha rushed to meet him on the lawn? The first part of Lisa’s description brought it to mind. No sweat if my description is too skimpy to help.
When PBO and FLOTUS end their 2nd term in the WH, Sasha will be going off to college…..time flys so fast. I am thankful that the President and First Lady was able to be a family in the WH because the President was able to spend more time with the girls and expose them to so much life, history and the world as President and First Lady than him as Senator in D.C. and a working mom in Chicago.
You mean Malia, don’t you? Malia will be 14 July 4th. And 2016 she will turn 18, I wonder if she will be going to Harvard or Princeton? Sasha will be 14 as the Obamas leave the WH in 2016. Sasha will be 11 in June, what is the date?
Thank you, Ma’am! That works for me. I viewed it several times, moving swiftly through the pics the last times and it was almost like a video – my ow personal video clip. Fact is I believe it’s the first time I was seeing the pictures of the girls playing on the swing. I had only seen the ones when Sasha started to run towards her dad, so the whole thing is a special treat. Now I have a new challenge…for me…. to figure out when I FIRST posted on this site. If I ever figure it out I can have a personal anniversary date to celebrate. Not remembering this particular post makes me think I wasn’t here two years ago. I suspect I found you after the 2010 elections, but I’ll see.
You are so welcome, honey. You are so easy to be nice toand to love. Plus, I really loved the mission of your blog. You are so positive about Our Beloved President. This is a blog that is to be noticed and that is that.
Lord, have mercy please. The electricity between Barack and Michelle is soooo electrifying in that video where that other leader want a picture just with our First Lady. Later on in the same video one could just feel the crackling, I swear! Talk about intense. I mean wow.
[...] dramatically slashing public higher education funding and hiking fees during his one term. According to the Boston Globe, fees and tuition jumped 63 percent at Massachusetts’ once-stellar system of public higher education from 2003 to 2007, as Romney slashed state funding year after year, for a total of $140 million, or 14 percent, in four years. Not surprisingly, average student debt in Massachusetts jumped 25 percent while Romney was governor. Between 2001 and 2011, tuition and fees have more than doubled at the state’s community colleges, state university and UMass campuses, but the bulk of the added burden piled up under Romney.
And even this:
There’s no reason to expect Romney will stick to attacks on President Obama that are reasonable or based in fact. You’d think he’d stick to ones that weren’t likely to bite him in the ass, but then, maybe his problem is he doesn’t have many of those—in fact, even without an Obama campaign response, Romney’s big “Obama raised tuition” video has already been pulled for a copyright violation and drawn an annoyed response (“Considering I am not a supporter of Mitt Romney, this is not exactly sitting well with me”) from one of the students featured in the video talking about his debt.
Chips, thanks for posting my favorite video: The one where he is shaking the bobby at #10 downing street. My second favorite one is where this Indian journalist was flirting with PBO at a London conference. he answered her question beautifully without condenscion. It shows his strength and humility that we are all created equal. Chips do you remember the video where he was being asked a question about drugs and he said he could not understand why Bill Clinton did not inhale? Then the camerawoman started giggling and everybody started laughing. if you could find these memory video’s it would be nice.
Danke
I’m going. I’m going….. soon. My eyes have been closing for a while now but Chips put up my favourite kind of post – a memory lane post! You can leave quickly when there’s a memory lane post.
Oh my! I just checked in before going to sleep and saw most of my favorite videos posted. Sleep will have to be postponed while I go happily through memory lane. Thanks, Chips and any other contributors. Off to enjoy the awesomeness of PBO and MO.
It was a great day at the MA State Convention. Elizabeth Warren with 95% of the delegate votes. Watch her convention video. About half way through the video my own small town’s Warren supporters are shown at a prrevious event with Elizabeth. There is a sign “Winthrop for Warren”.
I am in the picture on the far right – the woman with the blue sweater. Our delegation voted for Elizabeth today with 100% of the votes. I am very happy tonight.
Thanks so much for posting this here…I’m so happy that Elizabeth Warren did so well today. She’s the real deal and such a passionate supporter of not just the middle class, but of doing what’s right. I hope the good people of MA vote her into office as their senator. They will not be disappointed.
THIS! Thank you for posting this, Elizabeth Warren is the real deal. She will be the next Senator and hopefully our first Female President of the United States of America while Robme and Rove will be court jesters to The Newtster on Mars.
Awwwh Chips! What a GRRReat day this has been. Beautiful photos and videos of the two most beautiful people on the planet. I’m in heaven (singing)………..Off to bed now. GNight everyone and much love to you all. Chips you are a GEM. Thanks a million.
Watching the Ides of March. I rented it a few months ago and fell asleep on it, hope to stay up watch it but it was not given good reviews from what I recall.
I watched Ides earlier today. I recorded it a few weeks ago from STARTZ. It is a good movie. I have been catching up on a lot of stuff recorded on my dvr this week end. I am currently watching the tribute to Lionel Ritchie with the country stars. It came on a long time go.
I am staying up to watch Midnight in Paris for the up-tenth-time, I just love the shots of Paris, France, the scenery, the city in lights. I have GOT TO GO TO PARIS.
WOW…this is a bomb shell. I read some of the comments. Isn’t it funny how the rw always wants to deny that when a women comes forward it’s a lie but if it happened to a Democrat it must be true? no questions asked.
I got an email from my Mass cyberbuddy around 4pm EST and she said..
“amazing..we did it. we gave Elizabeth Warren 95.7% of the delegates, so she will not have a primary fight, so she can focus ALL of her mind-boggling brilliance on brown.
“i didn’t have a chance earlier, but i want to tell you – and i am going to post it – that EVERY SINGLE speaker LAVISHED PRAISE ON PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, AND SPOKE EXPECTING US ALL TO WORK OUR HEARTS OUT FOR HIM!!!! INCLUDING IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AGAIN!!! AND AND AND
EVERY TIME THEY DID, THE ENTIRE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE – major Party People everywhere – WENT WILD WITH JOY AND EXCITEMENT!!!!
WE ALL LOVE PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!! and all READY to work for him!!!
this was gigantic, Cha!! you heard Elizabeth Warren BROKE THE STATE RECORD with that 95.7% of delegates!!!!”
It is crucial that each of you listen to the portion of the video between 1:40 & 2:15. Absolutely crucial. For those of you with the tools, please consider creating a separate video that plays just that portion. It IS what Tuesday in Wisconsin is all about, folks. NO JOKE.
Moreover, expect to see a repeat of aspects of this post and the tweet throughout the day on Sunday and moving forward.
I absolutely loved watching all of these videos of your President and the First Lady, thank you so much for putting up so many fun videos all at once of this amazing couple. They just make you smile and cry and laugh. What a beautiful thing you folks in the U.S. have with who you have in the white house. So happy for you
And I was wondering who took that last video all shaky and everything, hehehe
Obama/Biden landslide in November! I’m rooting for you guys, the world is rooting for you guys! Enjoy your campaign because I know you all are working very hard for the best person to lead you into the next 4 years.
It’s 4:41am for me….i was left sleeping on the couch, waiting for my daughter to come home from babysitting last night! She was SUPPOSED to wake me up:) Good Lord! Now, here I am and no one’s here? All sleeping snuggly in your BEDS, like I SHOULD HAVE BEEN….she left the lights on…..lights I never put on….so I guess I would have a clue that she was home….. Seriously, it’s going to be a lOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG day today. Great couch for a nap, NOT a great couch to sleep all night on.
I need some coffee or something. If I make the coffee, it’s like I intend to stay awake at 4:30am on a Sunday……I made the coffee:) Anyone home??
HI,Hachiko:) Doesn’t seem to be the case….I’m having my coffee now! I like to get up early and start my day…especially here in the desert because that’s the only cool time of day to be outside doing yardwork….but 4:30 on Sunday seems ridiculous How are you, love? What’s happening on the homefront and with Tucker? Did you check into that EPIC training job opportunity that I mentioned? Don’t know if you saw that….thinking of you.
Not true! My husband never worked for any hospital or healthcare provider! He came from the financial services industry! Banking! The only requirement is a college degree…and if you have taught, that would be helpful. My husband’s class is filled with all different kinds of people, with all different backgrounds. Young, older, some nurses, academics…keep pushing or check another site. You can do this too!
If you can send me a link to where I can sign up for the training (hopefully it’s free), I’d appreciate it. The info I found says you have to be working in the health care industry or have someone in that industry sponsor you.
I’ll talk to my husband and see what info he can give me. I WILL do this so keep checking. If I don’t see you here, I will email Chips so she can forward my email to you or something. I will do this for you TODAY. Chin up:)
Hi desertflower, I am looking into changing careers and saw your comments to Hachiko. I’d like to know more about this program too. My email is rmcknight626@charter.net.
Hi desertflower — Good Morning!! A BEAUTIFUL day here in Chicago! I have the TV turned off and coffee on. I’ll be heading outside to go for a LONG walk along the lake today.
In the first few comments I love that picture of Barack Obama with the afro – he was/is one good looking guy. I had never seen that one before.
Morning, forus50:) It’s a beautiful morning in Phoenix too…right NOW anyway! That’s one of the benefits of an early riser…best part of the day in the summer is the wee hours of the morning:) After that, all bets are off!
No TV, and coffee for me, too. I figure that I can always take a nap later…not going back to bed!
I had never seen that picture of PBO with his afro. Handsome then, handsome now. He looks like he was thinking deep thoughts, even then.
David Gregory and Lester Holt are really doing a number on President Obama on the Today Show—–and Gregory before that on a preview of MTP on local news. They are shaking their heads about the dismal job numbers, Gregory saying no incumbent could be re-elected with these horrible job numbers coming in “month after month”, that this is exactly the kind of campaign issue RobMe wanted. They then show Clinton saying Willard’s record at Bain was “sterling”. And on and on. It was a Romney infomercial. This is after a local reporter, after showing the Obama stroll yesterday a.m. ended his report with Willard standing in front of Solyndra and looked in the camera and said Obama is going to have a very difficult time overcoming his “failed policies”. I have never seen anything like this. It is a coordinated attack. There is no substance or fullness to any of their reports, just negative sound bites. I know there are those who don’t like to hear this kind of thing, but I don’t think we can ignore it—–these shows still have large numbers of viewers and this is the distorted message they are sending out there—–it’s a drumbeat. It is so unethical. I have never seen these programs be so one-sided, no pretense of objectivity.
The people who watch MTP (older white folks) aren’t going to vote for the President anyway. Why are people still expecting these Sunday shows to be anything other than infomercials for the GOP?
it’s awful but everyone will have to shut it out as much as possible and work as hard as can be to re elect him. Forget the media – they have their corporate interests and if US citizens do not take responsibility in informing themselves then all pBO supporters are going to have to wok double time. People can say what they will about Chris Matthews but at least when the crunch comes he really supports PBO. He has been the best so far – Martin Bashir too and LOD , Ed but that’s about it. Rachel Maddow can be good too. That’s about it – you won’t get more help in terms of TV stuff. And print media is down to about 10 people. You have to grind it out inch by inch.
Someone’s watching these gabfests. Found this comment on C&L about one of the exchanges with Michael Steele:
On “Up”, there was this interesting exchange:
Chris said, “If we cared about the states as much as we loved the banks, we’d loan them money at 0% interest.”
Michal Steele responded that that money “comes with a long string attached” dictating how the money is spent. He goes on to complain that money given to the states doesn’t get spent “where it is needed. It all stays at the top. Like cream. It just floats on top.”
Am I’m thinking: “Damn! Isn’t that EXACTLY the argument AGAINST ‘Trickle Down Economics’?”
It’s “like cream”. I’d love to hear that argument thrown back in their faces.
Gooood Morning everyone…i always miss the excitement at night…i just can’t stay awake…but i do so enjoy all these moments….that chips and others hav brought back for us to all enjoy….
when you think back on this President…there are so many pivotal moments…ranking up there for me are two….
The speech that the President gave on race in Philadelphia…..and the speech that the President gave when his last State of the Union speech…where he outlined his vision for the country….
and then came the subsequent speeches around the American Jobs Act….putting substance to the State of the Union speeches…
This weekend i bypassed what passes for news on the MSNBC…etc…..i must say it was refreshing….spent alot of time on cpan and twitter..etc….
i did peep this morning…on Chris Hayes…saw Michael Steele….i knew that i did not want to watch….decided it was best not to….hahahaha….
sometimes i take these things a lil too personal….i have to remember to focus on those things that i can change and let go of those things that i can’t…..
and as has been pointed out by many of the wonderful folks here….there is so much that i can do to add my voice to the re-election of the President….
Tina Gangidine is so passionate about President Barack Obama, even her pet lovebird campaigned for him.
“I left the campaign sign by her cage, and whenever she would get out she would always hop right over to it and sit for long stretches staring at it,” said the retired middle school teacher from Ohio.
“I guess she was a political bird. Well, so is the rest of her family, so she came by it honestly.”
Romney already planning transition, headed by former Utah Gov. Mike Leavitt… http://pwire.at/Lmb0ij | wow. Talk about hubris.
He must know something we don’t.
Romney needs to read the Greek tragedies and Shakespeare. Hubris, which is what this is, is the fatal flaw that brings down “great” men.
I put great in quotation marks, because he isn’t a great men, but he is famous. In every play, hubris is the downfall of the hero…..Oedipus, Creon,MacBeth,…..the list goes on and on. Romney is by no means of the stature of those protagonists, but he is on the world stage, and everything he does reeks of an unbelievable hubris and faith in money. I will enjoy his downfall. I think it will be spectacular.
Ordinary people do not like this kind of regal presumption…..and it is that.
Beautifully stated and I concur 100%. You couldn’t get two more diametrically opposed candidates – in temperament, intelligence, warmth, compassion, humility, values and ideals.
This is priceless! Stephanie cutter and Krugman are kicking ass in this week!
Best debate I have ever seen!
You watching this! We have the facts on our side, they have easily refuted talking points!
A man goes into a pet shop to buy a parrot. The shop owner points to three identical looking parrots on a perch and says, “the parrot on the left costs 500 dollars”. “Why does the parrot cost so much,” asks the man. The shop owner says, “well, the parrot knows how to use a computer”.
The man then asks about the next parrot to be told that this one costs 1,000 dollars because it can do everything the other parrot can do plus it knows how to use the UNIX operating system.
Naturally, the increasingly startled man asks about the third parrot to be told that it costs 2,000 dollars. Needless to say this begs the question, “What can it do?” To which the shop owner replies, “to be honest I have never seen it do a thing, but the other two call him boss!”
amk for obama, Great message from that cartoon. Obama is making a mess of traditional marriage, the last time I heard when Mrs. Obama was on the View, Michelle and Barack Obama will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary in October, to each other. Now let’s see Limbaugh has been married how many times to how many women, now who’s really making the mess?
A woman and a man driver are involved in a horrific collision, but amazingly both escape completely unhurt – though their cars are written off.
As they crawl out of the wreckage, the man sees the woman is blonde and strikingly beautiful. Then the woman turns to the man and gushes breathily: ‘That’s incredible both our cars are demolished but we’re fine.
It must be a sign from God that we are meant to be together!’
Sensing a promise, the man stammers back, ‘Oh yes, I agree with you completely!’
The woman goes on, ‘And look, though my car was destroyed, this bottle of wine survived intact, too! It must be another sign. Let’s drink to our love!’
‘Well, OK!’ says the man, going with the moment. She offers him the bottle, so he downs half of it and hands it back.
‘Your turn,’ says the man.
‘No, thanks,’ says the woman, ‘I think I’ll just wait for the police.’
One you forgot Chips is the video of the two kids in “The Beast” making a call to their mother – you know the one which is at the end of one of the “West Wing Week”
Chips you also have a phone recording from NPR where PBO apoloizes to the young journalist for “messing up his game” when PBO said he is so young and the lady “dumped” the journalist
I spent 9 hours at school today. My reward?
Mary, 9 hours? Okay, for that you get one of my most loved pics ever…..
That Barack, he’s one bad mother–
Shut yo’ mouth!
Just talkin’ ’bout Barack!
LL, you just made me nigh on choke. You’re a hoot!!!!!!!!!
Haha…….What the?!?!
Now if that does not look like Malia?
….I mean doesn’t Malia look like that?
You know what I mean…..long day.
That’s what I was coming down to say, Jojo. He really looks like Malia in that pic!
And I’ve never seen that one before, so Maryl you got a special treat. Congrats on your stamina as well as your first place here.
I have always said that Malia looks like her Father and Sasha looks like Michelle. The videos are wonderful to look at.
That video of the Obamas sitting there talking to the lady from Access Hollywood, listening to Malia and Sasha talking, it is so precious.
I only have one thing to say about that picture .. ummm ummmm ummm um um … wow! He was cool then; he is cool now.
Shaft! Yes!
Go Barry!
I think he was a student at Occidental College when that photo was taken.
I LIKE that PIC! Little did they know!
Thanks!
Okay Maryl, well done!
What a fantastic treat! Ah Chica, you have been wonderfully good to us today, lots of pics as the morning award and memory lane video clips for the evening smile! Happy Sigh, I’ve gone to heaven without dying!
I sure hope this means that you have also had a marvelous day yourself!
“I’ve gone to heaven without dying!”
I’m a hopeless case VC, completely hopeless.
You and I are sisters under the skin!
Should be ” I am now at the point…”
First so far?? If so I need a reeeeeeaaaaaallllllyyyyyy fabulous picture!!! I’m exhausted! (Actually that’s why I caught the post – because I’m too tired to do anything except stare at the screen!)
Evening Chips, TOD et al.
Watching EVITA. Been a while since I’ve seen it.
Sorry Madonna, best EVITA ever…Patti LaPone!
Well, no offence to Madge, but Patti Lupone can, you know, sing. And act.
LL, see how you are? Expecting someone in a broadway role to actually ACT and SING!!! Such as elitist!!
I know, expecting my $100 worth for a crappy seat. Madge has to eat too!
Wow! I’d forgotten how fantastic Patti LaPone was in that role. What a voice!!!
There’s nobody better than Jennifer Halliday in that role. Nobody.
Jennifer Hudson did a very good job in the movie….that’s why she won an academy award for supporting actress….JH’s performance was definately runner-up to Holiday.
This year’s American Idol runner up, Jessica Sanchez was awesome singing that song with Jennifer Holiday in the final show.
Chica, oh CHICA… Here’s another video of then Sen. Obama singing Dionne Warwick’s tune “Walk on By” TO DIONNE WARWICK!!!!
Love it!!!!!! Love ya Isonprize!!!
I love Dionne Warwick too. When I see her she reminds me of my aunt who passed away five years ago….I miss her so much.
Awww. You and your aunt must have had a very special relationship, JoJo. She lives on through you and the memories you have of your times together. Blessings.
Thank you Hachiko. We called her “auntie” but she was more like a 2nd mom. She is so much a part of my life. Bless you and Tucker too.
I’m doing ok today. Thank you.
You’re still a star baby-cakes!
OMG. ison…that was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good, I KEEP listening to this! Love him. loveloveloveloveLOVE this man! Thanks, ison….it’s a good day!

A question for all seasons …
Can’t fault Bill Maher for asking …
To which my initial response was …
But, then felt the need to be more direct and, if you check my TL, you’ll see several folk will get the question. For now, I’ll share the first recipient, an all time TOD fav
#PRESSON
#FORWARD
I saw that too Bob and added my 2 cents worth
Did he ever say why he regretted involving the llittle ones in that interview?
Because of the media firestorm after it. The next day, the news was pretty much all about Sasha and Malia. The press really got out of control with their coverage.
The media started asking for access, moving in on photographing them more. I think they put their foot down when companies started making Malia and Sasha dolls.
I see, itgurl. They are like buzzards.
Awwwww! I’m glad you did, Chips. Wonder why he regretted it? ‘Cause they told on him?
I think both he and Michelle mentioned that they regretted it because it drew so much media attention to the girls. Not they didn’t expect attention, but I really think they underestimated how incredibly intense the scrutiny would be of every single word, movement, piece of clothing related to the girls.
Yeah, so right, isonprize. I was just playin..and it is indeed rare footage!
“we have a job creation president and a constipation congress. They wouldn’t pass gas if they thought it would help the president”.

TREASON.
yep
Excellent Framing! PObama’s all about helping the country so the gops sabotage our country because it would be bad for PBO. Bob is right..it’s TREASON.
I see where it was Bill Maher who asked that question about whether the gops were committing Treason..in my mind they are.
Good question, Maher, and Thanks Bob for posting it!
Well…seems clear to me: Dictionary.com
Synonyms
Actually could throw sedition in there, too.
EXACTLY. THANK YOU, DESERTFLOWER~
The gops would certainly be throwing those terms around..and in fact they did when anyone didn’t want to go with bush lies. It’s the US corporatemediawhore$$$$$$$ who let them get away with Everything.. as we all too well know.
See Norquist.
Cha, this is the question I forwarded to BillMaher yesterday, it was a question I posed to @edshow ….

So WOW Thanks Bob for helping our DEMOCRACY!
Thank you Bobfr for pressing this important plot, which was set up the same day Our President was sworn into office. And…since the GOP took over the house in 2010, how many jobs bills have been drafted/passed? Name me one job bill that the GOP put forth that has to do with jobs.
Much appreciated Cha & Carla.
Now, let’s get the message to every citizen!!

President Obama is returning to Washington from Chicago on Saturday. He will then head straight to Camp David where he will stay the night.
On Sunday, he is scheduled to host a reception at the White House for the Ford’s Theatre.
Pool-
I was reading on Beast that Clinton sabotages Obama by praising Bain.
Bill could be seethingly pissed because Senator Obama said he “inhaled alot”?
Hey everyone, I just got a very exciting email:
Provide us with the information below to claim amount won:

Can anyone tell me what 7 crores and 10 lakhs are worth? Does this mean I’m very rich? If yes, my next post will be from the Cayman Islands, so long as my yacht has good WiFi.
Sounds like a phishing skeem. They get your information then use it to get credit cards.
True JoJo, I just cling to the hope that one of these emails (I get about 25,372 of them every day) will one day make me severely rich
Unfortunately Chips, the only people getting rich from an email message is the person trying to separate you from your money.
ahem, lemme butt in
10 lakhs = one million
100 lakhs = one crore
Now, you go do your math.
Ah, so I’m rich?!
Hellllllloooooooooooooooooo amk!!!!!
Oh yes, you are.
GM chips. Lazy sunday here.
If you can’t watch this video
Who said it had anything to do with math ?
I love this!
Argh, I know that one, and I flippin’ love it – give me a minute
Muchas gracias, Chips!
me too….I just love her sweet voice from the distance and PBO tells them “I haven’t seen my wife all day guys”
LLO, I absolutely loved this phrase “camerapervs”. I can’t wait to see this video. I am green with envy.
Correction, he says “FLOTUS, FLOTUS! Where is she?”——I’m so obsessed with this clip and I haven’t seen it since Chips first posted it!
Woooot, here it is:

I absolutely love you, Chips!!!!

Lisa, hey, nice heels!
Thank you!

Owwwww…..sexual healing. Just think if that song came out today, the music video would be over the top sexual that the FCC would have banded from the airwaves.
I was looking for that one a week ago! I searched and searched by bookmarks and couldn’t find it. I know it’s here somewhere.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH CHIPSSSS…I LOVE THIS…THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TODAY…((((HUGGS)))

I guess everyone went to bed early!
Nope!
I’m here!
+1,000,000,000
“The press cannot handle him. He will not let them.” THIS is why they say that he is aloof and other things that anyone else can see is untrue. They are so used to politicians who suck up to them or fear them that they do not know how to respond to someone who neither needs them or cares about them.
Perfect!
Aw what a fun post! Thanks Chips! Loved them all
My pleasure Alice, we needed a smile after a tough couple of days.
We sure did. Each one of those vids is so wonderful by itself, but the whole collection? Total joy. WHAT A MAN!!
I guess there’s “nothing to fear but fear itself.”
Good night all.
Seen all these videos before, but I had to stop to watch them all again. You just can not get too much Barack or Barack and Michelle.
Love them all.
Is POTUS and FLOTUS holding hands as McCartney sings that song “MICHELLE” to Michelle.
I see that POTUS was singing the song to FLOTUS.
And that was McCartney’s daughter sitting behind FLOTUS who whisper something to FLOTUS after her father finish singing.
President Obama is soooooo romantic…..what a very lucky lady, Mee-chelle Obama.
Heartwarming. This video has me smiling from ear to ear.
All these videos tonight are wonderful Chips. Just wonderful!
Love them all. Thanks Chips!
Hiya VC, I’m not sure that I ever saw video of that, I only remember photos??
http://theobamadiary.com/2010/05/31/flashback-look-whos-home/
PS Thank you vitaminlover for being the ONLY person to comment on that post
Such sweet photos. The only one missing is FLOTUS. The girls have grown so much. TY.
You’re right anniebella…..too much wine last night.
Chips!! Has that been almost 2 years? Where did the time go. What precious pictures!
Time is flying VL, we must be having fun! Thank you for being my only friend back then!
You are so welcome, honey. You are so easy to be nice toand to love. Plus, I really loved the mission of your blog. You are so positive about Our Beloved President. This is a blog that is to be noticed and that is that.
‘Thank you vitaminlover for being the ONLY person to comment on that post’
Much easier to spot the trolls back then, eh? You miss those days, Chica?
I never saw those pictures before. They are just beautiful!
I have Not seen much of DWS and on FTN, has Axelrod against Priebus!
Is something A-foot!
DebbieWS boots on the ground in Wisconsin?
Lord, have mercy please. The electricity between Barack and Michelle is soooo electrifying in that video where that other leader want a picture just with our First Lady. Later on in the same video one could just feel the crackling, I swear! Talk about intense. I mean wow.
There’s another picture from the same day where PBO was wiping away raindrops from Michelle’s shoulders. Very sweet.
Awwww, I bet it is sweet. Maybe it will show up.
HAHAHA!! I can’t wait for those debates to start. That’s all I’m sayin’…..
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/05/30/1095991/-Mitt-Romney-tries-to-attack-Obama-on-student-debt-despite-his-own-poor-record-in-Massachusetts
Another FAIL!

You’re back! I guess that means it’s time for me to disappear? Okay, give me 5 or ten minutes.
Thank you so much Ms. Chips for the “Saturday Smiles”. I watched a few of these several times and can never get enough. You’re the greatest!
Danke
Thanks chips!!!
Hey Chips here is one of my favorites!
PBO dancing at the Fiesta Latia
Vid of the Obama walk today and reaction from the public. My fave—-little kid said PBO said “Hey!” to him and he said “Hey!” back.

Thank you for sharing that, Dotster.
Tap, tap, tap (on my watch). Now my foot tap, tap, tap
I’m going. I’m going….. soon. My eyes have been closing for a while now but Chips put up my favourite kind of post – a memory lane post! You can leave quickly when there’s a memory lane post.
Brilliant! This brought a smile to my face.
Oh my! I just checked in before going to sleep and saw most of my favorite videos posted. Sleep will have to be postponed while I go happily through memory lane. Thanks, Chips and any other contributors. Off to enjoy the awesomeness of PBO and MO.
Goodness, you guys have been busy while I’ve been gone! What good stuff:)
I kind of liked THIS one….
That’s the same way President Re-elect Obama is going to do Willard–squash him like the bug that he is! Yeah, I said it.
……and Rove, the millionaires, and billionaires, and teabaggers, and birthers….they are dead lord of the flies.
Hello TOD family,
It was a great day at the MA State Convention.
Nice to see you in the video, hgerhard!
My favorite
Baaaalammmm……..Trump got trampled that night!
wooo hoooo…..pass the wine….party time.
Awwwh Chips! What a GRRReat day this has been. Beautiful photos and videos of the two most beautiful people on the planet. I’m in heaven (singing)………..Off to bed now. GNight everyone and much love to you all. Chips you are a GEM. Thanks a million.
Night:) Tomorrow is another day…..sweet dreams!
night night…..you’re gonna miss the party tonight!
I loved that movie – a lot more than I thought I would. It was like going on a mini-vacation and history tour.
Isn’t the photography amazing. I just love the beginning of the movie.
Is that the one with Clooney and Gosling? That’s good enough for me!
Yep…
Good night to anyone who is still up. I really enjoyed re-visiting these videos.
Anyone still here????
I am still here….Hey desertflower and CEB!
Remember Bruce & Barack in Ohio?
I love this song…..it is so Barack Obama and Joe Biden, our two american heros. I have that sign in my office…OBAMA/BIDEN.
O/T: Chrispie Christie must HATE that THE BOSS is a Democrate and an Obama supporter…hahahahahahaha.
Substitute November 6, 2012 for November 4, 2008:
http://wcmcoop.com/members/integrity-the-child-scott-walker-left-behind/ Oh dear. This will leave a mark….people of WI…have you had enough yet?
WOW…this is a bomb shell. I read some of the comments. Isn’t it funny how the rw always wants to deny that when a women comes forward it’s a lie but if it happened to a Democrat it must be true? no questions asked.
If this is true, and it doesn’t seem to be from some rag….the hypocrisy of these people is STUNNING! I hope we find out more. SOON.
I got an email from my Mass cyberbuddy around 4pm EST and she said..
“amazing..we did it. we gave Elizabeth Warren 95.7% of the delegates, so she will not have a primary fight, so she can focus ALL of her mind-boggling brilliance on brown.
more on it all, soon
i am hoarse from screaming”
How Fun & Historic to have been there!!
Congratulation MA….you are on your way to making history and making Ted Kennedy proud once again.
More to the story, jojo!
I cried for joy when I read that!
What a fantastic trip down memory lane! Thanks Chipsticks!
Such a lovely walk down memory lane.
Good Nite everyone
Am leaving this tweet and video for those whom visit during the wee hours of 0215 and 0900 EDT.
#AmericaThisIsNotATest NO JOKE
#FORWARD
Still awake and hard at work….this is for the marbles. I hope they are ALL paying attention!
I was really impressed with Tom Barrett’s performance in the debates in the various clips that I saw.

Kirk co-sponsored bills helping ex-girlfriend’s clients

Hi DF. I hope you’re able to fall back asleep. It’s way too early to be up on a sunday.
HI,Hachiko:) Doesn’t seem to be the case….I’m having my coffee now! I like to get up early and start my day…especially here in the desert because that’s the only cool time of day to be outside doing yardwork….but 4:30 on Sunday seems ridiculous
How are you, love? What’s happening on the homefront and with Tucker? Did you check into that EPIC training job opportunity that I mentioned? Don’t know if you saw that….thinking of you.
Hi darling. I’m good today. Tuck and I are still at the extended stay thanks to a kind soul here on TOD.
I did look into EPIC. I have to be working for a hospital or health care provider to be able to enroll in a class.
Thanks, DF. Appreciate it.
Here are the ratings for last weeks Sunday shows: http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/category/sunday-shows
MTP 2.5 million most of which were 55+
it’s awful but everyone will have to shut it out as much as possible and work as hard as can be to re elect him.
Rev. Al is in the President’s corner.
They are mad because Gregory show MTP is being circumvented with a Telethon.
So, he cannot have his Propaganda this week!
what strikes me so much about this video ia that is shows how consistent the President has been…

I think it’s hubris as well as belief that money can buy him anything. After all, it’s worked that way all his life.
A new government planned by a Utah Governor? That says it all.
I thought she would be great . “Meet the Press” was worse than usual. Gregory let Alex Castelanos dominate the conversation.
MTP was circumvented down here in Florida! Where a good portion of his viewership comes from!
Stepanie Cutter I love you!!!
After God had created Adam he noticed that he looked very lonely. He decided to help.
He said “Adam, I’ve decided to make you a woman. She’ll love you, cook for you, be sweet to you, and understand you.”
Adam said “Great! How much will she cost me?”
The answer came back, “An arm and a leg.”
“Well,” said Adam “what can I get for a rib?”
YES WE CAN….YES WE CAN….YES WE CAN….YES WE CAN…..
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
WILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!
FORWARDDDDDDDD!!!!!
That was cute, AMK.

amk for obama, Great message from that cartoon.
Ok, last one, promise
LOL!
