Hey chips….waiting for my prize!
look likes things are down to the wire in WI. Let’s hope Barrett pulls this one out.
I’m very hopeful ,especially with heavy turnout in Dem areas and also massive same-day registration and voting.
God, WordPress is annoying the hell out of me. It’s going to drive me to make fun of Wayne Rooney until Chips fixes it with her magic fairy dust.
Someone asked earlier—-Edison Research is doing the exit polling for ABC CBS NBC AP CNN FOX. Early exit polls—on Tweety— were close but slightly encouraging.
Remember, Walker outspent Barrett by an 8 to 1 ratio. This election shouldn’t even be “close” on those grounds alone. Furthermore, this should be a serious warning sign to the Romney camp, GOP, MSM, Kochs, SuperPACS, who think they can simply buy their way to the White House in November.
6-800k more voters than in 2010! That is great news!
Today I am in awe of my democracy. I love WI voters, and I am so proud of my fellow Americans in WI who have slogged in the snow to get recall petitions signed, worked, donated, GOTV, etc.etc. I feel in my heart of hearts that the people will win, but if not–they have made me so proud. With billions being spent to buy democracy, the vote is still the ultimate power. You people ROCK!
Forgot–congrats Uche on 1st
I’m with you Diane they’ve really done an important, awesome job
Count me among the admirers. I was in awe with their mid winter protests in the freezing cold, their optimism, drive and tenacity are all to be admired and held up as an example of ‘the will of the people’
Win or loose, they are true s/heros and winners in my book!
@Mama4Obama1 I think a bunch of 10-yr-olds are running @MittRomney's campaign. Can't spell and nothing but childish pranks @Bill_Clinton12— Jinoden (@marabout40) June 05, 2012
Still, his interview today on CNBC was anything but stellar. Last night, he was great.
Throw the dice, it’s a Seven! Throw the dice, snake eyes!
Do you seriously believe that in November, any serious DEM voter is going to give a kangaroo’s bottom what Clinton said or didn’t say on CNBC in a June interview?!? Did Clinton’s words on Bain prevent Obama from continuing to push those Bain ads? No.
He also stuck up for Bain again.
But, the answer to your question is no!
Whether or not he stuck up for Bain is irrelevant because Obama never attacked Bain. Obama challenged Mitt Romney’s claim that his Bain experience would make him a better job-creator AS US PRESIDENT!
If you say so!
Why don’t you google todays interview with cnbc and get back to me? Lol!
If he ain’t gonna help he can STFU.
The campaign is only as good as the candidate and we know what kind of person Romney is. He has no conscience and is very childish.
The Romney campaign fake Twitter account, pretending it’s Bill Clinton….I don’t understand that now that it’s out, on mediaite and other websites, they’re still tweeting….I was pasting their tweets and I saw another one popping out…..it’s not immaturity, isn’t it illegal? I know there’s no rules about anything it seems but this is so wrong…
Bill Clinton @Bill_Clinton12
”Ruh roh! Bill Clinton on CNBC: So many on food stamps, so on unemployment, on Medicaid ”
”Sorry, Mr. President! CNBC: “US Already in ‘Recession,’ Extend Tax Cuts: Bill Clinton”
”Oopsies! Politico: “Clinton breaks with Obama over Bush tax cuts”
”If you’re voting for @BarackObama you might as well vote for Chris Matthews!”
”Why would you vote 4 @BarackObama with only 1 year in the Senate? Really? ”
”A vote for @BarackObama is a crap shoot – a roll of the dice.”
”In my humble opinion, the time @MittRomney spent at Bain Capital was a good business career.”
”The Obama campaign shouldn’t be attacking @MittRomney’s private sector work.”
”There’s no question that @MittRomney had a sterling business career. ”
Even if they wrote next to the name on top : This is a parody account. What if Bill Clinton was tweeting?
It’s not the handle….It’s not Fake Bill Clinton or Snark Bill Clinton….it’s Bill Clinton……they are rats…..I don’t know why they get away with everything.
I see that as usual they are proud of their disgusting ”pranks”, not denying it
“What If @Bill_Clinton12 Were Tweeting?” asks an online post by Mitt Romney Press.
Maybe his 4yr old grandson is running the campaign since he keeps asking gramps if he beat Obama yet.
If that’s the case, tat kid needs remedial spelling.
Wow. How juvenile.

Over 100%? That doesn’t make sense…
It means that the number of actual voters in today’s election exceeded the estimated number of registered voters in the polling data. That happened because new people were registered today – people that were not counted in polls conducted yesterday and earlier.
aha… thanks for the explanation, hopefruit2. That’s awesome! Hope they’re all voting for Tom Barrett!!
And you can bet your sweet bippy that they’re not Walker voters.
The voting registra was exceeded by same day registration!
Exactly, hf. And, even more importantly, none of those who registered today are likely to have been polled and certainly not factored into poll tabs.
Notice that Little Nate is as quiet as a mouse? His treasured “models” showing Walker a solid 6 pts ahead are probably not panning out.
Republicans will probably use this tweet to cry “Voter Fraaaaauuuuuud!”
Voter Fraud? My thoughts are the Republicans always accuse the other side of what they have done themselves so maybe they are trying to commit voter fraud by same day registering their people in other districts.
The rules in WI are that you can register on the day of election, so that may account also for exceeding the number of registered voters previously estimated.

Because of her 77 cents earned for each man’s dollar, her pension will also be reduced by the same percentage and her SS retirement benefits will be lower as well. Not to mention, the women has less funds to stock away in her own personal retirement investments/accounts (if she can at all).” Republican war on women? Very real and very frightening.

Hey peeps, just getting home and have been on pins and needles all day because I didn’t have time to check the progress of #WIRecall. I am being hopeful that barring any hidden, last minute ‘found’ ballots, this is heading in the right direction!

Regarding the fair pay act vote. Never fear, those pigs will soon be history!

Good news for Obama in Wi. early exit polls:
Exit poll? What about exit poll on Walker? They always find a way to make it about PBO. Good news but still…
But this is good news, because if (God forbid) Walker wins, it will be harder to make it a harbinger of November.
I have to admit that I’m nervous that’s why I prefer to be angry at the Romney’s camp for their fake Bill Clinton account …ha!…just to distract my mind…..I’m so hoping for a win for Mayor Barrett.
They cannot release exit poll on the candidates until polls close!
Yes they can. Preliminary numbers at 5:00 CDT. three hours before polls close.
How wrong is that?
I saw the Clinton lovefest on Hardball earlier….well I turned it off quickly……”BIll Clinton is better than ”Obama” for this, he’s better for that, he loves politics, he can explain complex subjects and Obama can’t…..”
on and on and on….
Enough of that BS, I’m sick of it…..he is not President as far as I know., it’s easy to get your message out when you’re not attack 24/7….it’s very weird what’s going on,…
Yes… I saw it too….it was sickening.
It’s bullshyte Christi. Tweety is not threatened by Clinton so he can heap all the false praise on him at the expense of the person whom he truly feels threatened by. President Obama is running the show, not Bill Clinton. The media’s desire to make Clinton into something or someone that he isn’t says more about their desperation than it says about either Clinton or Obama.
Obama is a very, very secure man, so he doesn’t feel at all threatened when the media drowns itself in false “Clintonmania.” He doesn’t mind being temporarily “upstaged” by Clinton if it helps him achieve his goal. PBO is laser focused on the prize and the rest is just a distraction.
Mitt’s campaign must be seeing some very troubling internal polling numbers. Mitt/MSM are in full panic mode with extremely pro-GOP spin. NBC news has an article about how people will get tax cuts if the Supreme Ct strikes down “Obamacare”. No mention of people losing healthcare coverage or insurance companies being able to deny coverage. They are on a mission to destroy PBO. Strange how one subpar jobs report can result in this onslaught of negative spin concering PBO and dems generally.
I remember when Tweety hated Bill AND Hilary when they were in office.
I remembered that too. He LOATHED them! He is such a phony.
If Bill Clinton was so great how come he never won 50%+1 of the popular votes both in 1992 and 1996?
Madison voting projected to hit 80% with some wards topping 100% with new registrations.
Somehow I’m thinking this election is not going to turn out to be the Walker win that the MSM wants or predicted. I clicked on my Comcast X-finity hompage at almost 7PM ET (6PM Wisconsin time) and here at the top “news” headlines
1. US kills al Qaida #2 in drone strike
2. Warning for Venus onlookers
3. Woman wins 900K in herpes lawsuit
4. Dr.’s death report on Lincoln found
When you click on the “more” tab which reveals 9 more hidden articles – none of them are about the WI elections.
Also the WI election recall is not featured in any other section on the page.
mmmmm what do you make of it?…..doesn’t make sense…..it’s THE story
I take it as a sign that Walker is losing or expected to lose . Or he is not winning with the margins that were predicted. I got that vibe since this morning and I posted my suspicions in the “Rise & Shine” thread. When the media cannot report bad news for Obama or Democrats, they quickly pivot and change the topics in the news cycle.
I so hope you’re right Hope…crossing my fingers!,…
I agree hopefruit2…it is not the story they have been leading up to for the past few days, “Obama is in trouble. there’s no enthusiasm in the base, the youth, this will be a referendum on Obama, Walker is leading, WI is burnt out on elections, etc,, etc.,”
There’s def something going on here. Throughout the day, the msm has been slowly blacking out the recall news. All we’ve heard these past few weeks is that PBO is DOOMED if Walker wins the election. Now suddenly this morning, they’re saying that it’s actually a Barrett win that could hurt Obama. How? They never explain. But apparently, a Barrett win is bad news for Obama. LOL! And now, tonight, they’ve resorted to downplaying the importance of this election. The same election that, as of last night, was the most important election ever in the history of elections.
I don’t wanna jump the gun, but just based on the insane media reaction, I think we may have a very good night.
I’m very curious to know how the heck they will spin this as bad news for the President if Mayor Barrett wins….
They were trying it earlier today. No explanation. Just suggesting that no matter what happens, it’s bad news for Obama. It’s crazy.
Could it be the old complacency Obama’s got it in the bag meme with predictions the voter turnout will be low if Barrett wins? And if Walker wins Obama is doomed with no enthusiasm to have his voters turnout? Doomed either way with the MSM theme.
I too am on pins and needles about the WI recall election today. The Koch roaches CANNOT be allowed to buy elections with their lies and intimidation tactics.
Enjoyed protesting Rmoney’s fund-raising visit to my fair city yesterday.

Report from Milwaukee on their big turnout and heavy voting throughout the state. I see every news org., including Chgo NBC reporter and msnbc, sent their reporters to Waukesha, the heavy Repub area with the corrupt clerk who always finds 1000s of extra Repub votes long after everyone has reported their totals and Walker’s home district. They’re all there for the Walker victory party, dozens of news trucks. Man, do I hope it turns out to be a really sad party.

that is encouraging!
I’m holding my breath.
Can folks help me out here? I just had a neighbor (she supports Obama but her husband doesn’t – he’s higher ranking military) say that she supports Obama but that Obama was going to cut military pensions. Does anyone know where she got that from?
From a teabagger’s ass.
You should have asked HER that. She should be able to tell you exactly where she got it from – unless it came out her ass and she’s too embarrassed to have you check it out for yourself.
Where did she hear it from her Repub husband? I googled the phrase, “Obama was going to cut military pensions”. All I got was some FOX news and other right wing noise machine articles that Obama was despicable for wanting to cut military spending/pensions. I say that she should dig further. I believe there may be something on the White House site.
On Veterans Day last year, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee did float a plan to privatize the veterans health care system but he was forced to back away from the proposal after swift condemnation from veterans groups.
Romney has also said he supports Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) budget proposal. That budget “would cut $11 billion from veterans spending.”
Sounds as if she and her military hubby should be more concerned about Robme than PBO on this one.
CindyH, have you asked her where she got that information? Not trying to be smart, but seriously, just ask her. If she is a supporter of President Obama, she knows his support of the military. She can do her research and tell you where she got the information. Then you can take it from there.
I will – she said it to my sister because she probably knows I would have responded similarly to Tally’s response, but I just wondered if anyone had heard this along with all the other bs that MSM puts out. I don’t watch tv, so I don’t know what they’re saying other than what y’all push back on.
Actually, I think her husband has it exactly backwards:)
House Majority Whip Steny Hoyer objected to the pay freeze proposal, saying feds have sacrificed enough through other pay and benefits cuts and freezes. “Republicans have asked federal employees to contribute $60 billion in two pay freezes, $15 billion in pension cuts for new employees to offset an extension of unemployment insurance, and a further $78 billion in pension cuts for current employees to pay for their dismal budget reconciliation package. This represents a total cut to federal employees of $153 billion in pay and benefits. With this third pay freeze, they are now asking for $30 billion more.”
The veterans’ measure is perhaps the most popular of the 12 annual spending bills that Congress must pass. It had been expected to pass easily despite a White House veto threat that was issued over moves by GOP leaders to break faith with last summer’s budget deal by cutting overall funding for agency operating budgets by $19 billion, almost 2 percent.
The veto promise didn’t find fault with the funding levels in the veterans’ measure itself. Instead, it said the GOP moves on spending would force deep cuts to domestic programs like education, research and health care in subsequent legislation.
The President also wanted the Republicans to stand by their Budget agreement of last summer…that they now want to change and go back on.
I think the husband doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
2012 COLA Watch: Congress passed a bill to set the 2012 COLA rate at 3.6%. This will mean an increase in military retirement pay, VA rates for compensation and pension for disabled veterans and surviving families, and social security recipients beginning in January of 2012.

Beyond the Money, the Great Wisconsin Recall Election of 2012 Has Been the Fight Our Democracy Deserves
By Charles P. Pierce
The money has been the great gravitational force not only of the campaign to dismount governor Scott Walker itself, but also of the narrative that has surrounded it. Down the stretch, as he has found his feet and began to narrow the gap between himself and the incumbent, Barrett has made a weapon out of the amount of money that Walker has received from various out-of-state billionnaires and assorted conservative sugar daddies, even chaffing Walker’s loyalty to the hometown Brewers because Joe Ricketts, the batshit plutocrat who is the patriarch of the current ownership of the Chicago Cubs, had kicked in a couple of hundred thousand dollars to Walker campaign.
“I know that Governor Walker wants to make this a national race,” Barrett said at his final rally here on Monday night. “This is, and should be, about the values of Wisconsin, not about his national ambitions, not about his wanting to be the poster boy for the Tea Party. I don’t want this state to be the experimental dish for the right wing. That’s why people look at this and say, ‘This is wrong. Why is this governor raising 60 or 70 percent of his money from out-of-state? Why does he have his own criminal defense fund?’ It just doesn’t add up.”
The more I watch things out here, from Madison to Milwaukee and the restaurants to the courtrooms, I realize that the money — as stupefying in its amounts as it undoubtedly is — is also a great distraction. The easy narrative is that this election has been about “the air war and the ground war.” (I swear, another week, and Ed Schultz was going to start sounding like Rommel.) That it was about “owning the airwaves” against “boots on the ground.” But what I’ve come to realize is that, from the first moment the first protester stepped onto the lawn of the capitol in Madison 16 months ago until the polls close tonight, the Great Wisconsin Recall has been an extended argument against narcotic centrism and anesthetic civility. This has been a brawl, from start to finish. The local papers are full of stories about families that have divided up over the recall, about divorces that have been sought because a Walker husband found that having a Barrett wife — or, to be fair, vice versa — amounted to an irreconcilable difference. The money and the boots on the ground are only the media through which the two campaigns have carried on an angry and divisive debate. And, for all Barrett’s talk about ending the “civil war” that he says Walker started, the anger and divisiveness were perfectly appropriate, and I thank god for them. For once, anyway, all the talk about how Americans don’t care about politics, how disengaged and removed from our obligations to the political commonwealth we’ve become, have been refuted for the moment by what’s gone on in Wisconsin.
What we have here is a fight, out in the open, without nuance or euphemism, between two ideas of what self-government should look like, who it should serve, and how, and how wide the parameters of participation will be. That is serious business. It ought to be contested fiercely and to the last and without cosmetic conciliation. Scott Walker made a firm stand against public-employee unions, and did so in a way that ran contrary to a proud tradition of progressive politics in a state that takes those politics very, very seriously. The only bust in the state capitol building here is of Senator Robert LaFollette, Sr., Fightin’ Bob, of whom John Dos Passos wrote, in The 42nd Parallel:

Scenes from a Recall Poll, Pt. 2: 5225 W. Vliet Street
By Charles P. Pierce
Brenda Lewison was concerned. She was supervising a polling place located in what should be the very beating heart of the effort to replace Scott Walker. The polling place itself was inside the headquarters of the Milwaukee Public Schools. Down the block was the headquarters of the Milwaukee teachers union. Neither public schools nor the people who teach in them had fared well since Walker took over in 2011, and more than a few of the people who worked in both buildings had been out in front of the state capitol when the storm came 16 months earlier. And Tom Barrett himself voted only one district over that very morning. And Brenda was worried about running out of ballots. Not for Ward 202, but for Ward 203.
“This is what I did,” she told the guy from the election board, who was sitting on a window sill, while an observer from the state Democratic party looked on. “I took the turnout from 2008 and 2010 and I averaged them, and I ordered 1100 ballots for 203. They sent me 700. And I’m also thinking that my own estimate was low. So, I sent something I thought was low, and they didn’t even send me that many. The rest of them are back in the warehouse. Now, I’m thinking there’s going to be a rush at about five o’clock when people get out of work, and they’re telling me to call them when I get down to 100 ballots left. I’m going to call them when I have 200 ballots left, just to make sure there’s enough time for them to get here.”

Whatever the outcome in Wisconsin, these turnout reports are just fantastic, completely uplifting. I know if Walker wins it will be devastating, and it’ll be bloody hard to look on the bright side, but I’m taking a whole bunch of encouragement from this effort. Forward!
yep Chips I too am encouraged. I’m so proud of all the people that went to Wisconsin from here to help – it’s just really a fantastic effort. I sincerely hope it pays off for the good ppl of WI. :D
Absomolutrely correctomondo!!! Regardless the outcome, I am so very proud of this effort . It’s just a start and it shows what people can do from the bottom up. I think somebody once said, ‘We are who we’ve been waiting for’
Everything I read last week said “large turnout Barrett wins”. Now there is a massive turnout the media is calling it as close. They just can’t accept that Walker may well lose – everything crossed on my side of the world for Tom Barrett.
And I’m taking a whole bunch of encouragement from this voter I just read about. She was being taken to the hospital in an ambulance for some medical emergency and had the ambulance stop at her polling place on the way so she could fill out a ballot. I wish all voters were so dedicated. And then of course I had to check to see if she was one of the good guys, which I suspected—-because of heart and determination. She was from Lake Hallie in Chippewa Co. and Obama won that county by a sizeable margin—-and so I’m putting her in the Barrett column. A good girl.
Gorgeous story, Dotster, thank you!
You know, I read a lot of people here and on Twitter today asking how the hell could anyone vote for Walker – and I’ve been asking myself the same question. But when you look at these figures, it’s actually miraculous that it’s this close:
….. A flood of campaign money, much of it from out-of-state interest groups and most of it benefiting Republicans, is partially responsible for the hothouse political climate.
About $64 million has been spent on the race since November 2011, an analysis from the Center for Public Integrity found.
Beginning last fall, Walker seized on a loophole in Wisconsin law that allows incumbents in recall elections to raise unlimited sums.
Walker outraised his opponent by an almost 8-1 margin, collecting $30.5 million to Barrett’s $4 million.
Roughly two-thirds of Walker’s contributions came from out of state, the Center for Public Integrity reported, while only a quarter of Barrett’s funds originated from outside Wisconsin.
The Republican Governors Association has spent more than $8 million on Walker’s behalf, most it on television ads.
So much money, so much poison-spreading. Oh boy, democracy?
Exit polls should be banned. And NO information should be available until the polls close if we have to have them.

@ news3jessica : Large police presence just arrived in Waukesha. Mostly Sheriff s deputies. #WIrecall #News3
I hope they’re there to arrest Kathy Nickolaus. Just mentioned on Ed show. No one can believe she’s still there and still running things when it was reported she had agreed to step aside. Reporters are said to be there keeping an eye on her, watching for when she goes into the back closet for a bucket full of newly discovered votes.
Today was a great day I was at an event on the South Lawn I will post pics as soon as I figure out how!
So Little Nate finally mustered the courage to tweet SOMETHING…but NONE of the tweets have anything to do with today’s recall elections!!!
Intrade thinks there's a 5% chance Hillary will be elected president THIS year. Did Doug Schoen open an account? bit.ly/MB6RvO— Nate Silver (@fivethirtyeight) June 05, 2012
FYI: We'll be launching our presidential forecasting model on Thursday.— Nate Silver (@fivethirtyeight) June 05, 2012
One early result: WI could be competitive in November, but unlikely to be at the electoral tipping point. 6-8 other states matter more.— Nate Silver (@fivethirtyeight) June 05, 2012
People call lots of things toss-ups or swing states when they aren't really, e.g. North Carolina.— Nate Silver (@fivethirtyeight) June 05, 2012
Why is he so quiet?
I thought he said it was a sure thing for Walker
@fivethirtyeight Hello Nat, a little stunned by how close it is in Wisconsin, are u still predicting Gov Walker is 95% certain of winning?— Snark Knoller (@SnarkKnoller) June 06, 2012
HA! I can always count on good ol’ Snark to come through with those witty comebacks. Now let’s see if Lil’ Nate responds…. :)
Heavy turnout……whoooo….how fantastic….
Ok I have to post this,
It’s just too crazy: Fox Anchor Megyn Kelly On Anna Wintour Holding Event For Obama: “Why Not Get Satan?”
She sounds like Bill O the clown…I wouldn’t be surprised if Bill is poking her. She is such a sleaze.
“Why Not Get Satan?” – Roger Ailes was busy that night.
I’m writing this before the polls close in Wisconsin. I will not be staying up to see what happened in Wisconsin. I’ll get back here tomorrow morning. I would like to thank the people in Wisconsin who stood up to the GOP tyranny that began in 2011. When they first began to protest, I wondered what would happen. When the protests grew, I cheered them on. When the protests continued, day after day, week after week, it was stunning to watch what was happening in Wisconsin only on certain outlets, because, for the most part, the MSM absolutely ignored the story in Wisconsin. There they were, getting tens of thousands of people to protest, out in the streets, and for most of the MSM, it was like it wasn’t even happening, which was a ‘ wow’ moment for me. I want to thank Rachel Maddow for being on this story from the very beginning and Ed Schultz for joining her. I want to thank the Wisconsin 14 for leaving the state to stop the GOP tyranny. However this turns out, I want to thank those in Wisconsin who did a yoeman’s job fighting for democracy.
Bill Clinton says it'd be a mistake to extend Bush tax cuts. Media reports Clinton says extend tax cuts. What the fuck is wrong with you?— Steve Weinstein (@steveweinstein) June 06, 2012
He said to extend bush tax cuts permanent would be a mistake.
But doing so temporarily would be fiscally sound.
I don’t think the far left will like that, at all!
Bill Clinton is very wealthy and needs Wall Street for his foundation. I’m sure his Wall Street gfs are threatening him with withdrawing donations. He’s not a good person, he’s extremely self-serving. This is why I don’t want Clintons in the White House. I can’t separate Bill from Hillary.
This is too funny! The media was claiming that Walker was going to beat Berret and how Obama doesn’t support Berret, etc. Everytime though it seems that the media gets caught in their lies. Maybe Walker beats Berret but it looks far from a ‘for sure’ win.
Now they’ve started reporting the exact opposite of what Bill Clinton said in interviews.
I’m sure they take their information from the fake Bill Clinton account…
It was one of their tweet.
Well, its being parses on both sides, including on this site.
He said, extending Bush tax cuts permanently would be a mistake.
But, on a temporary basis would be fiscally sound.
Both sides parses his words, including people on this site.
Hello TODville, I’m home though I’m going to go wander through the rooms to see what has been added in my absence. The plan is to try and keep awake to hear the results in Wisconsin. I’m also going to check out the Twitter landscape to see what’s in their neighbourhood rumour mill. I miss you all dearly yet hope you all have had a good day!
Great to see ya VC! ;-)
Thanks, Boss lady. ;) There’s truly no place like home!
pretty scary – he either doesn’t know or purposefully misled her – I’m guessing the latter. She is a nice person, but seems a little gullible. Thanks so much – I’ll continue to do more research and this has been a huge help.
No fear here. Just information. Tell her, or the sister, or the husband, to check the “Obama Biden Truth Team”
You should look into it. That way you’ll have the information you need to help your family and your neighbors be accurately informed.
First MSM report on the recall election: Repubs are worried.
CNN – reporting that Repub sources "worried" that Dem strongholds Dane & Milwaukee counties are +115% turnouts. #WiRecall— Artsworker (@artsworker) June 06, 2012
Dem official: In Dane County (Madison) the 2010 turnout was exceeded today 3 hours before polls closed. Big boost for Barrett. #wirecall— David Shuster (@DavidShuster) June 06, 2012
Media is lying. Bill Clinton said he agrees with POTUS and we should not extend Bush tax cuts for the wealthy: cnbc.com/id/47677145— Steve Weinstein (@steveweinstein) June 05, 2012
He said temporarily we should extend the tax cuts.
Stop being like the far right and parsing his words.
Sick of it!
One more time hopefruit,
Place this tweet down thread just one more time and blam straight to the Moon.
Something tell me that WI was a real dry run for the 1%’ers. For a state who’s population is smaller than the population of metro Chicago to produce a Walker, Rinse, and Ryan lead me to believe this was engineered by someone. They didn’t count on a recall so now the cat’s in the sandbox.
You are a very wise man.
Thanks but Florida is next.
That’s for damn sure.
I agree, and they picked the wrong candidate. Scott Walker is a grease ball, and he’s also going to be indicted I’m sure for his illegal behavior.
GM folks. It’s 6 am here.
WI counting started yet ? Any linky to the count ?
The polls close at 8PM Central time (9PM ET).
So another 30 minutes ?
Look who woke up! Good morning/afternoon/evening/night amk.
GM Chips. You all better stay awake tonight and give me the good news.
What is this lack of ballot sheets I am reading about on twitter? World’s richest nation can’t print enough ballot sheets ? WTF is going on ?
I don’t like seeing that they’re out of ballots and registration forms all over Milwaukee with still long lines everywhere. They’re scrambling to get more forms. Hopefully people with have the patience to wait. I suspect many polls will remain open after 8:00.
Put on the coffee, amk. It’s going to be a long morning.
Oh, boy. I haven’t even started the first one yet.
You SLEPT already???? :)
Just 6 hours df, just 6 frigging hours.
Oh! A nap :)
Let’s call it a siesta in the night. :)
amk I’ve noticed that you do well on relatively little sleep.
I take a siesta in the afternoon too. :)
Serious. Ours is a hot country and my company policy since my father started has been to have a long lunch break of 11/2 hours. All my staff live within 5 klicks, so they go home for lunch, have a siesta and then come to work. They love it.
Can I come work for you? I do great with a nap AND a siesta!
And gin and tonic after work….I know how good that is…It’s hot here in the desert…..
No count yet amk. They’re probably gonna hold the vote to se if it’s close enough for Walker cronies can fudge the numbers.
With DOJ on the ground to monitor the elections ? Will the thugs be that brazen ? No, wait, don’t tell me. I know the answer.
Bad night in Boston…WI raises big questions for Mitt.

AXE! AXE! AXE!
EMERGENCY ALERT: Again, here is the link to print voter registration forms and take them to polls: bit.ly/JK3UCD #wiunion #wirecall— We Are Wisconsin (@WeRWisconsin) June 06, 2012
Now people need to print their own ballots ? It’s sounding like a fucking a banana republic.
amk, Wisconsin allows same day registration. They have a strong influx of new voters, plus, an extremely high percentage of registered voters are showing up. Even if they enoguh ballots to cover every registered voter, thy till woudl run out in some places.
I don’t understand japa. They know the no.of eligible voters. What prevented them from printing at least 50% more ballots to meet any contingency ? I mean it’s not like this election was thrust on them just 24 hours back.
Oh, they have ballots printed, but they avoid sending too many to any specific precinct. Have a bunch of extra ballots around invites the possibility of fraud. Actually, I see the sense in that. I think what is happening today is a total and complete surprise.
Because they spend too much time listening to that damn media push false narratives about low DEM turnout.
But but but Coward Fineman is coming on to tell us all that the Wisconsin vote, really does not matter at a National level!
I couldn’t believe that one either. People have to print their own registration forms???
I went outside and tried to see if I could find Venus in transit. Unfortunately, I saw nothing. There were too many clouds blocking my view of the sun. I’m watching a livestream internet video with some commentary, but it’s not the same as seeing it for yourself.
Venus is easy to see because it is coveted in Clouds. Global warming gone crazy.
The fact that it is passing in front of Sun, is a beautiful thing. But, you need welders glasses.
That is all!
That’s the other thing – I forgot to get the special glasses. I would’ve had to go to a photography or science store for that.
live linky, thingy, please??
Here you go my friend!
very cool… cloudy here too, at least where I am. I’m a science geek too!!
RT @wisaflcio: Polls are open until 8:00 pm. Remember if you are in line at 8:00 pm you guaranteed the right to vote #WIunion #WIrecall— Ali Van Zee (@alikat747) June 06, 2012
Will the dems stay the line and stay on the line ?
They are being urged to stay on the line!
The Left Strikes Back!
Hiya everyone, do you want a new thread, is this one getting a bit long, or is all good?!
I’m happy with a new thread – thanks Chips :) And by the way I claim FIRST!!!
It’s a bit bulky. New one, please?
I agree. And I’m first – don’t forget :)
Ok, waking up at 5 a.m. is leaving its mark on me.
Well, it’s not showing LL, you look lovely.
Hi everyone…I am soooo nervous. I really feel the People of Wisconsin will win tonight! Side note: I love Rachel, but I wish Ed could have been on all night tonight!
